Salamence @ Leftovers
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
IVs: 30 HP / 30 Atk / 30 Def / 30 SAtk / 30 SDef
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Aqua Tail
- Dragon Dance
This is one of the only guys I started with and still have. His moveset has changed a bit (added Dragon Dance), but he's be a loyal companion, Moxieing his way through 3 pokemon with outrage fairly often. It's a fairly nice coverage given by his moveset, although I'd like to switch out Aqua Tail for a flying move so I can get his STAB.

Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Serious Nature
- Wish
- Toxic
- Seismic Toss
- Heal Bell
Blissey has served me well too. She's able to delay a very long time while dealing out Toxic as my opponent keeps switching to find a way to deal with her. Wish has been nice for getting rid of all their hard work damaging her, and sometimes healing Salamence or Conkledurr. Seismic toss I realize isn't the best, but sometimes a damaging move is exactly what I need.

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 100 HP / 4 SDef / 152 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Sleep Talk
- Rest
Another Moxie person, though not as good as Salamence. He was added because I really liked how Salamence was going. He's very frail, and often gets zapped by thunderbolt which, being doubly SE, kills him. I gave him rest+sleep talk to let him survive a bit longer, but it isn't really working. I'm considering ditching him entirely or switching out those two for dragon dance and another move.

Scizor @ Leftovers
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 72 HP / 4 SDef / 180 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Bug Bite
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Roost
He was added recently, but it's a decision I haven't regretted. Bullet punch makes for a nice revenge kill, and Technician+Bug Buzz is very handy, especially when my opponent has a berry. I've never used Roost, so I'm looking for something to switch that out with, but Swords Dance has been handy a few times.

Conkeldurr @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Drain Punch
- ThunderPunch
- Mach Punch
- Ice Punch
This used to be Machamp with Dynamicpunch and No Guard, but I saw the Conk You Up team and decided to give him a whirl. He's been nice to some degree, but his low speed really limits him, even with the scarf, while trading another stat for more speed just makes that stat not even worth having. I'd like to find a nice balance.

Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Unnerve
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Superpower
- Earthquake
- Aqua Tail
- Pursuit
Speed also isn't the best, and for a huge dinosaur thing he sure dies quickly. I'm considering switching him to something else able to absorb fighting moves.

---------------------------------------------------------

I appreciate any and all advice. I'm very new to competitive pokemon, and this can basically be described as a trial and error team slapped together based on what worked well over about 50 battles.

Thanks for the help and rating!

I totally changed the format, added sprites, and changed a few of the pokemon from my more recent battles. Hopefully that will get some people interested in rating this team...

Here's some quick suggestions:

1. Unnerve is a TERRIBLE ability, if you don't want to run a sand team then take out Tyranitar entirely

2. If you're really not using Roost on your Scizor that often then you should switch it out for another coverage move like Air Slash or Superpower

3. Gyarados is just too frail to run a Rest Talk set, try this set:

Gyarados @ Lum Berry
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Bounce
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Ice Fang

4. Stealth Rock is a big problem for your team

Hope this helps! If I think of something else I'll let you know

Okay for the robots suggestion of not putting tyranitar on your team you may be wondering who to replace him with. In your case I beleive bisharp would be an excellent replacement to your team. I'll show its set down below

search

Bisharp@life orb. Ability: defiant, inner focus both great abilities
-low kick( if you use him to take out steel types who are heavy does 120 damage)
-swords dance
-sucker punch
-stone edge
Nature:adamant
Evs:252 Attack, 4 Hp, 252 speed

Agreed with Robot, use a DD set, but use Substitute over Ice Fang and Leftovers over Lum. Once, subbed and set up, he is unstoppable. Also, run Intimidate. SOOO much bulkier.

This is about as bulky as it gets in RMT these days so I will shoot you a rate.

First off, this teams has quite a few obvious problems, lets go through these one by one before I start suggesting serious things:

-Give Tyranitar Sand Stream > Unburden. I also suggest Crunch > Earthquake, Superpower and Earthquake effectively do the same thing on Tyranitar, you don't need both. Aqua Tail is also a bit odd, consider testing out Stone Edge over it.
-Choice Scarf has no good reason to be on Conkeldurr, there is no 'balance' it is a slow tank trying to invest in speed is futile, give it Choice Band / Life Ord / Leftovers easily, and an EV spread of 120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 SpD Adamant.
-I really have no idea what the heck you are doing with Gyarados here, ditch whatever that is and give it the Bulky Dance Dance or the RestTalk Set on site, don't forget to run Intimidate on it (FWI doing this solves your 'fighting problem')
-First off, your Blissey has no nature, give it Calm. Wish + Heal Bell is bad for a variety of reasons, namely Wish isn't a reliable healing move, so in order to use it you would need another slot for Protect / Softboiled, which you don't have because of Toxic / Seismic Toss / Heal Bell. Choose Wish or Aromatherapy and then run a set of Softboiled / Toxic / Siesmic Toss / Aromatherapy or Wish / Toxic / Siesmic Toss / Protect or Softboiled.
-Aqua Tail is just bad on Salamence, I highly suggest Fire Blast over it so it can actually wall break through steel types like it is suppose to, also give it a Naive nature.

After all these obvious changes, your team actually isn't all that bad, probably the biggest issue it has is the lack of Stealth Rock. I suggest you give Stealth Rock to Blissey or Tyranitar. Tyranitar is probably the better choice, and while you are at it, use the Support Tyranitar set on site.

After you make these changes and fix up your team, I might post more, to help out even more, but for now fix it up.

Hello there, ErasmoGnome. Welcome to Smogon and to competitive battling. Hope you enjoy it here. Now on to the team. Off the bat I noticed a few things that needed to be improved on. First being the sets you chose to use, some of the next don't really make sense. Secondly, I'm not really seeing a true purpose with the team though from the looks of it seems to be sweeping with Salamence. If it is the case your current team has a bit of a tough time putting Mence in position to sweep. With this rate I'm going to help you get to that point. So let's get started.

First off, I don't really see Gyarados having much of a role on your team. Gyarados is a great pokemon and huge threat when used right and given Rain support which is something you don't have. I would recommend trying Jellicent over Gyarados. This gives you a good check for Physical pokemon and add a Keldeo check that your team really needs.

623.png

Jellicent @ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 248 HP / 56 Def / 116 SDef / 88 Spd
Calm Nature
- Scald
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
- Taunt

Next I would suggest Hippowdon over Tyranitar. This will help deal with physical attackers and will give you a better longevity to be able to win the weather war. You now have a Stealth Rocks, Recovery and a phazing move for the setup sweepers that you lacked before not just on Tyranitar but the whole team.

455.png

Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 244 Def / 12 SpD
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Slack Off
- Whirlwind / Ice Fang

Nitpick and smaller changes

- Conkeldurr should have a Life Orb instead of a Choice Scarf. Then I would change the set to this:

Conkeldurr @ Life Orb
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 120 HP / 136 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Ice Punch
- ThunderPunch
- Mach Punch

- Salamence use Fire Blast over Aqua Tail, Lum berry over Leftovers and a Naive Nature.

- Blissey needs to have Calm Nature instead of Serious and Aromatherapy or Protect over Heal Bell.

Hope this helps you out. If you need more help just ask and I can help you out. Good luck.
