Hi, I am salamence1 or salamence1100 on youtube, and this is my RMT. The goal of this team is to have a effective weatherless Hyper Offensive team without the use of SmashPassing, or with the support of Dual Screens. In order to make this work I took the two most effective offensive cores i've used in the past and modified them slightly to be used together in sync. This team has had very little testing done so far, only around 20 battles or so, but has proven to be effective, or at least shows a lot of potential. I am here because I want to get some help exploiting all of this teams weaknesses then correcting them. So without out further ado here is my team.
Forretress (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Spikes
- Volt Switch
Forretress is really the only guy on my entire team that is not offensive, but thats okay because usually she can provide all the support I need. Obviously her main goal is to get hazards out, mainly Stealth Rocks I really only use spikes if I get the free time. This helps my team a lot giving that extra little damage can be the difference of a sweep or loosing one of my more powerful pokes. The second goal is to Rapid spin away any hazard the other team may have. This is mostly for Dragonite so he can come in with his precious Multiscale, but other than that my team isn't overly concerned with opposing hazards. Lastly she has Sunny Day, now before you instently say this is a stupid idea, or think it's a wasted move slot think about how useful it is to be able to change the weather from your opponets. Often times they simply let their politoed/tyranitar/abomasnow die because they don't see opposing weather, then I use Sunny Day and they are at a disadvantage, and since it only last 5 turns I'm not really harming anyone on my team by using it.
Landorus (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sand Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Look at Landorus, all cross armed like a boss! Landorus is probably one of the best revenge killers in the entire game right now. With it's speed and power he can easily revenge kill with Earthquake and Stone Edge. He can deal with those annoying scarfed Salamence or Dragon Dance Dragonite with HP Ice after Rocks damage. He even makes a great scout using U-turn, but for some reason many people don't think of using him outside of sandstorm! Which is crazy! Even though he is great on sand teams I think he works just as great as a sand team counter. He can easily take care of Ttar and Terrakion with EQ OHKO's Gliscor or opposing landorus with HP Ice I mean who wouldn't want to use him, he's great! He also helps with Sun teams that are filled with frail fire types that he can pick off. I absolutely love using Landorus and I was glad I was able to fit him into this team. His main role is to simply be a standard RKer and the teams Scout, but like I said earlier he can also preform as somewhat of a counter to half a sand team or sun team making him a great choice to have on a weatherless team.
Magnezone @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunder
- Volt Switch
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Fire]
Ah, Magnezone, If anyone has ever used a Scizor or a Skarmory they probably hate him. Anyway as on any team Magnezone is in, his job is to remove all the steel types. For me he is part of my first offensive core along with Dragonite. Therefor his job is to clear out the steels to allow Dnite to OUTRAGE everything in sight after getting up a D-dance or two. Because I am wanting to sweep with Dnite not Magnezone I'm using Choice Scarf to ensure I can out speed and kill all the opposing steel types, barring Heatran, and still be effective When the steels are gone so he can be a little more versatile then just removing steels then dying. Most of the moves are pretty obvious HP Fire removes Ferrothorn, Forretress, and of course Scizor. Volt Switch is for scouting and removing Skarmory. Flash Cannon is for hitting more stuff for nuetral damage. But I'm sure your looking at Thunder then looking back to make sure this was a weatherless team, it is. I have Thunder for countering rain teams, most rain teams will have 3-4 out of their 6 pokemon weak to electric type moves, so I figured why not take advantage of their rain and fire off some Thunders on them, and so far it's worked fairly well.
Dragonite (M) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- ExtremeSpeed
- Earthquake
My beloved Dragonite has been one of my favorite pokes since I got my very first pokemon game. Back then he was the only dragon and known as one of then most powerful pokemon 13 years later there have been many more Dragon types, but he's still known as one of the most powerful, thanks to his outstanding Dream World ability Multi Scale! He is the second part of my first core, on the last team I made with this core he was the closer that would come in at the end and sweep everything, that team peaked at rank 79 and i'm hoping this core with be equally effective with this team and exceed that rank. The moves are pretty straight forward and standard I have Ddance to boost attack and speed, I have OUTRAGE to rape just about anything that doesn't resist it, and even a lot of stuff that does. I have Extremspeed to outspeed and kill revenge killers or pick off guys without setting up. Lastly I have Earthquake to deal with Heatran because that is the only steel type that magnezone can't deal with very well. He has lum berry to 1. Make it much easier to set up with out having to worry about status. 2. To get rid of confusion cause by outrage so I can continue to wreck some shit.
Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Surf
- Recover
There was a reason Latios went Uber in 4th Gen, and it wasn't just because of soul dew. Latios has great speed and superb power, and he pairs excellently with Lucario, just some of the reasons he's in my favorite offensive core. On the team I originally used the Laticario core in it peaked at 17 since it has become my favorite core over all it just works really well. The last time I used time core I had HP Fire, but because I have Magnezone there isn't really any need for HP Fire for scizor anymore so I was able to gain a little more speed and Recover to last longer. Moves are straight forward, Draco Meteor is to dish out huge amout of damage to just about anything but I mainly use it for dealing with Gliscor, Slowbro, or other rare but bulky psychics. Psyshock deals with Tentacruel, surf for Heatran and better overall coverage, and lastly Recover for recovery. Really after that and a swords dance lucario can take on the rest of the team. And on that note we will move on to my favorite Pokemon...
Lucario (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- ExtremeSpeed
- Bullet Punch
LUCARIO!!! Lucario has been my favorite pokemon since "Lucario and the Mystery of Mew" He just looks so cool and He is very effective in the game. After his counters are cleared and he gets an opprotunity to set-up a Swords Dance it's "good game." After and SD his Close Combat is one of the most powerful moves in the game and is able to even OHKO the best physical walls like Skarmory, Ferrothorn, and Forretress. The only down side to him is his mediocre speed which is made up for by his powerful extremspeed. I even have bullet punch to deal with Terrakion and the rare but scary Scarfed Ttar.
So there you have it thats my team please criticize, and help me improve this team I'm open to advice, that's why I made this RMT after all. Please tell me what you see being a problem for this team so I can try to fix it. If you want to check out this team in battle i'll probably be uploading some battles with here in the next couple of days on my youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/salamence1100?feature=mhee so feel free to check that out!
