Also Sombra stats as much as I understand, might be wrong here and there.

  • 200 HP
  • Machine Pistol (M1)
    • 60 rounds
    • Similar to S76, ramps up bloom and maintains maximum bloom once reached
    • Kinda Tracer in range
  • Hack (M2)
    • Disable all abilities (including ultimate) for a duration of 6s, cooldown of 12s.
    • Takes ~1s to channel
    • Channel breaks when taking damage, or enemy is outside of LOS / range
    • ~15m range imo though dev said 10. Feels like Mercy's heal range.
    • Does not incur cooldown unless cast successfully
    • Shows if the target has their ultimate online while hacking; I don't think hack needs to be completed, not too sure.
    • Target healthpacks to deny usage by enemy team. Respawns healthpack once every 3s. Hack on healthpacks lasts for 1min, can be refreshed by hacking it again.
    • Hacked healthpacks cannot be hacked by enemy Sombra.
    • Cannot hack healthpacks in set up time.
    • Hack works similar to McCree's Flash Bang with regards to interaction with abilities and ultimates. Hacked enemies can still use basic attacks and their passives.
    • Targeting is similar to Orb of Discord. Cannot hack enemies behind barriers.
    • Hack lasts for 10s on Torbjorn turret (dev).
  • Thermoptic Camo (LSHIFT)
    • Invisibility for 6s, cooldown of 6s.
    • Movement speed increased.
    • Using attacks or Hack breaks the invis.
    • Taking damage breaks invis.
    • Can still be targeted by S76 ult (dev), and appears on Sonic Arrow, and presumably Widow's wallhack.
    • Might shimmer when bumping into enemy - not too sure.
    • Unsure if it breaks turrets LOS to Sombra when cloaking while being tracked.
    • Can teleport while invis.
    • YOU CAN CONTEST THE OBJECTIVE WHILE INVISIBLE.
  • Translocator (E)
    • Throws a teleport pad that lasts 15s in the world, attaches to ground only. Cooldown of 6s starts after the skill is reactivated to teleport Sombra back to the pad thing.
    • Can teleport even while projectile is still mid air.
    • Similar travel to Ana's nade.
    • Projectile cannot be damaged, but can be deleted by D.Va mid air.
  • Ultimate: EMP (Q)
    • Charge rate seems similar to standard DPS ults.
    • Probably Mei's ult radius, 10m.
    • Instant cast, based on LOS.
    • Applies Hack status to all enemies, turrets and breaks shields/barriers, including Lucio's Overheal from Sound Barrier.
  • Passive: Opportunist
    • Sombra has wall hacks on enemies who are under half HP.

Sombra's kit is insane and probably more flexible than Ana. With her ingame I'm not sure how Tracer is going to see much use if an aggressive Sombra is going to function as a more flexible Tracer.

With the PTR changes and Sombra release I wouldn't be surprised to see S76 start to take a DPS slot again, as disabling shields / abilities makes his ult far more effective. Predicting a S3 meta is pretty much impossible as Tuesday's PTR update could always come with more S3 balance changes. Even right now if everything currently on PTR (+ Sombra) went live in S3, the meta will turn on its head and comps could go anywhere like using 3 DPS for example.

Sombra herself looks nothing short of broken (ON PAPER) but she might be trickier to pull off and fit into comps depending on how good her damage actually is. At the moment it just seems like "utility DPS" which could allow just about anything to work considering the kit counters almost the entire meta roster besides like the aim reliant heroes such as McCree / Hanzo (memes aside, Master+ Hanzos do not fuck around) / Widowmaker. I try to think of what could work in S3 but Sombra just throws a giant ass spanner into the works.

it is real, you can get it from nov 15 to dec 4th by playing 15 games of Heros of the Storm with a friend

Wow is that the only way?? I don't have that game... ugh ;_;

Also, I literally love Sombra's SMG, I always used SMGs in CoD back when I played so it reminds me so much of that!

I'm mad. I've been playing tanks lately and have been climbing but I've been paired with this same fucking for stack three times in a row. me and the other solo go tank, take that burden off of them, they insta lock three DPS and a fucking defense Hanzo. leaves me and the other dude trying to figure out if my Rein or his Zarya is more with keeping while we try to solo heal this uncoordinated mess of a team. you're grouping up, why not understand composition?

heroes of the storm is free. if you have overwatch, you have heroes of the storm. just play 15 games of their brawl during that time period and you'll get the skin, as long as you use the same b.net account.

Sombra looks like a hero with insane potential, through the dexterous utility of hack, multiple uses for her teleporter thing, and seemingly good dps. The ability im most interested in though, is her invisibility and how she'll use it. She cant really use it to retreat, as any damage to her cancels the effect. I guess she could use it to flank or hide from ults? Not really sure, what do you guys think her invis will be best for?

Invis for rollouts, engaging if you're not seen before cloaking. It can work as an escape if you know how to break LOS with enemy before cloaking. Just not as ideal because spray and pray and Winston.

Combos well with tp. Basically just don't go invis in plain sight and it's really good.

I'm not sure of how much sound is made if at all from the invis start and end.

I feel like, starting out at least, this is how most people will play sombra:

1: place transponder with team
2: cloak and get behind enemy lines
3: hack and/or kill enemy tanks/supports OR use ultimate
4: teleport to safety

the ult looks insanely good, probably the best ultimate in the game for initiating a push. her teleport and cloak have short cooldowns too. sombra is looking really strong on paper atm, super excited to try her out.

what I am curious to find out is what she will do to Reinhardt usage and to a lesser degree Lucio. I can see her ult also be a really strong combo ult. think about it. Her plus Genji means that defensive ults can't defend against genji's ult or any team wipe ults. That would be potentially broken.

I'm going to advocate that throwing and doing a mid air TP and instacast EMP is the stupidest thing ever with no counter play beyond having a D.Va that Defense Matrixes the sky with sixth sense.

If the enemy doesn't notice the TP flying way over head, which tbh they're likely not going to as long as you don't throw in plain sight, they're basically screwed.

What more if you just cloak before you even land on the ground they wouldn't even know where EMP came from.

I'm trying to think of a way to counter EMP combo but I don't think there's any. The most is popping Transcendence right before EMP but that gives Sombra the choice to simply not follow through with EMP and just go for cloak.

Idk man I don't want to play having to look out for mid air TPs and stuff. And there's still the option of Invis to ult as well so eh. Literally uncounterable. I'd fight two Dragonblade Genjis over this any time.

She makes Mei look meek lol.

As it is designed, right now she's probably the highest skill ceiling hero. Who can pull that off consistently? I'm pretty sure good Sombras will be scarce.

This character was hella cool until I read the passive.

It's not League's system at all. It's akin to the NBA. Teams will be in cities and it seems to be one big North American league to start. Don't know where it will go from there.

I guess you can still Res out of an EMP combo
unfortunately this only further mandates the "get rez and hide" playstyle of mercy so she doesnt get hit by the EMP. Even then there's the potential that a sombra watching out for this could hack the mercy as she flies in for rez as well, so im not too sure shes gonna get much better in sombra meta :/.

This is probably the most informative video on how she plays. seeing her in action she looks like a ton of fun. the developer comments are super interesting. the teleporter seems to be integral to her gameplay. she does tons of dps up close. I super want to play her.

It is - Blizzard is in full control and pays salaries. It's literally LCS with cities as teams.

Yeah i mean I understand Sombra can track down a mercy and hack/kill her first but doing that at least opens her up.

I don't mind get res and hide but I've talked about this.

Hacking Mercy as she flies in intuitively seems like it'd be difficult just thinking about rezzing in motion considering how close you need to be to hack.

EMP seems oppressive and Sombra has a lot of tools at her disposal but that's going to make for good problem solving imo.

If a defensive Sombra manages to avoid notice out of range and come in to EMP as a response to the offensive EMP it seems like that would set a precedent for interesting timing and counterplay.
