[SET COMMENTS]
Palkia is a premier mixed wallbreaker due to its great typing, which offers it two stellar STAB attacks in Fishious Rend and Dragon Energy that are capable of 2HKOing virtually the entire tier. A Naive nature is used to maximize the amount of threats Palkia outspeeds, as both STAB attacks benefit from the user moving first. Strength Sap is used not only for longevity but also to keep Dragon Energy's damage output as high as possible, which would otherwise limit Palkia's ability to threaten common Dragon-types like Zygarde-C, Giratina, and Imposter users. Volt Switch lets Palkia maintain momentum against its checks, mostly Fur Coat Steel-types and Prankster Tapu Fini. Nuzzle can punish these checks for switching in rather than gaining momentum off of them, potentially offering a teammate like Regigigas an easier time handling them. Draco Meteor provides a strong Dragon-type attack that can be used if Palkia is at low HP.

Palkia's best fit is on teams that can maximize the amount of chances it gets to switch in and use its massive damage output. Xerneas and Regigigas act as excellent partners, as these can both use pivot moves to get Palkia in or run coverage like V-create and Precipice Blades to help destroy Palkia's checks like Zamazenta-C. RegenVest users like Dialga and Kyogre excel at forcing out faster threats that Palkia can't switch in on, such as Eternatus and Zacian, both being able to paralyze Imposter users with Nuzzle. Palkia is normally Imposter-proofed via a Tapu Fini, Ferrothorn, or Fur Coat Steel-type, however has an advantageous matchup against Imposter users if they are paralysed or on low HP, as the Imposter user's Dragon Energy will be doing non-threatening damage.

[SET COMMENTS]
Palkia is the most common Rain sweeper in the tier thanks to its Water typing and great mixed attacking stats. Swift Swim lets Palkia outspeed the entire tier under rain, allowing it to opt for a Naughty nature that allows Palkia to OHKO Xerneas and Regigigas with Fishious Rend. Water Spout provides a nuclear STAB move to get past Fur Coat users like Zamazenta-C and Solgaleo. Alternatively, Steam Eruption sacrifices raw damage for a stronger matchup into priority users, such as Pixilate Xerneas with Extreme Speed, as these move before Palkia and weaken its damage output. Dragon Energy is useful to remove Dragon-types like Eternatus and Giratina while also providing an option to hit Desolate Land users like Ho-Oh. Strength Sap provides longevity and keeps Water Spout and Dragon Energy's damage high.

As a rain sweeper, a teammate with Drizzle is mandatory for this set to work, so teammates like Melmetal, Zygarde-C, and Giratina are useful, as they can set rain and pivot out via a Teleport or a slow U-turn. Melmetal can also switch in on Xerneas to scout for Extreme Speed and threaten it out, with rain helping neutralize its weakness to Fire-type attacks like V-create and Blue Flare. Palkia's Dragon Energy beats common Desolate Land users like Ho-Oh and Reshiram but can struggle against the former if Palkia is damaged, so a supporting teammate like Barraskewda, Zekrom, or Primordial Sea Zamazenta-C can help bypass this. Aromatherapy support can help Palkia sweep by removing paralysis, mostly from surprise Prankster Glare users. Dragon Energy is useful in exploiting a weakened Imposter user, however for a teammate to reliably Imposter-proof this set, Dry Skin or Water Absorb are necessary.

Palkia is a premier mixed wallbreaker due to it's great typing, which offers it two stellar STAB attacks in Fishious Rend and Dragon Energy, which after the boost from Lustrous Orb are capable of 2HKOing virtually the entire tier. Naive nature is used to maximise the amount of threats Palkia outspeeds, as both STAB attacks benefit from the user moving first, and this notably allows it to always outspeed Xerneas, Kyurem-White, Ho-Oh, Lunala and speed-tie Jolly Regigigas. Strength Sap is used not only for longevity but also to keep Dragon Energy's damage output as high as possible, which would otherwise limit Palkia's ability to threaten common Dragon-types like Zygarde-C, Giratina, and Imposter users. Volt Switch lets Palkia maintain momentum against it's checks, mostly Fur Coat Steel-types or Prankster Tapu Fini. Glare and Nuzzle are options that punish these checks for switching in rather than gaining momentum off of them, potentially offering a teammate like Regigigas an easier time handling them.

Palkia's best fit is on teams that can maximise the amount of chances it gets to switch in and use it's massive damage output. Xerneas and Regigigas act as excellent partners, as these can both run pivot moves to get Palkia in or run coverage like V-create or Precipice Blades, respectively, to help destroy Palkia's checks. RegenVest users like Dialga and Kyogre excel at forcing out faster threats that Palkia can't switch in on, such as Eternatus and Zacian, with the former also providing Doom Desire support to ease prediction. Palkia is normally Imposter-proofed via a Tapu Fini, Ferrothorn or Fur Coat Steel-type, however has an advantageous matchup against Imposter users if they are paralysed or on low HP, as the Imposter user's Dragon Energy will be doing non-threatening damage.

As a rain sweeper, a teammate with Drizzle is mandatory for this set to work, so teammates like Melmetal, Zygarde-Complete or Giratina are useful as they can set rain, pivot out via a slow U-turn and switch in on Xerneas to threaten it out. Palkia's Dragon Energy beats common Desolate Land users like Ho-Oh and Reshiram, however is unable to break past Heatran, so a fellow rain sweeper that can carry Ground-type coverage such as Barraskewda is recommended. Aromatherapy support can help Palkia sweep by removing paralysis from Prankster Glare users or from RegenVest users that can survive it's attacks, such as Dialga and Kyogre. Dragon Energy is useful in exploiting a weakened Imposter user, however for a teammate to reliably Imposter-proof this set, Dry Skin or Water Absorb are necessary.

set 1:

-cut glare, it's worse than nuzzle on palk in most situations (exception is if youre improofing with a bounce mon)

-slash a 2nd dragon move on the last slot, probably draco meteor. having a strong dragon move when youve taken damage is more useful than para or volt switch much of the time. means you dont have to sap as often and can do things like stay in vs simpleplot etern and just kill it (you live unboosted core), still kill weakened gigas if you lose the speed tie, etc.

-specifically which checks do v-create and pblades on xern/gigas hit? those moves aren't great against fini, fc steels, or desland ho-oh. "respectively" implies that gigas doesnt run v-create

-mention that dialga helps paralyse zama-c and imposter, this is more important than doom desire for palkia imo.

set 2:

-dont use the word "premier" in the first sentence again

-ohko xern and gigas with what?

-drizzle zyg and tina generally prefer teleport ime

-desland heatran isnt relevant enough to mention, and dragon energy doesnt reliably beat desland ho-oh (one round of spikes damage and it's unlikely to 2hko, if they come in on water moves which you want to be clicking most of the time youre often forced out by threat of nuzzle). maybe just mention importance of having something to punish desland ho-oh.

-aromatherapy sentence implies that palkia should be staying in on regenvest users that can nuzzle it, which i dont think is the case. don't have to mention specifically which mons paralyse palkia, can just say that aromatherapy removes paralysis and leave it at that

-mention more mons that are good on rain teams: barraskewda, steels, and zekrom come to mind
