Pet discussion thread

Yeah, right, I forgot that teiids run the show down in that backwater place called south america. However there are more skink species than any other group has species...and they are just plain cool. Tegus are fat and lazy.

Wait til the mighty Tethys (frilled dragon) grows up. He's just a wee baby and already is chasing our cats and attacking (he has speed hax and is choicebanded)

i really want a frillie, but until they come up with a feeder insect that doesn't; stink, chirp, eat stinky food, or present a risk of infestation if it escapes...i'm not going to bother. rodent eaters are so much easier. defrost a rat or two and you're done.

i just acquired a young iguana for my 18th birthday and its awesome. the only thing i don't really enjoy about it is that damned tail snap, fucking hurts like hell. other than that i have a yellow lab named andy, an orange striped cat named tigger, and a bird who i have lovingly come to call shutthefuckup.

I have been bitten by four pet dogs this year... please put your animals on leashes, guys. And the last pet I had was a turtle, when I was like six. It ran away.

your pets are all awesome. especially that shepherd, i'm going to get two when i grow up i fucking love shepherds.

anyway my cat comet. comet the cat.

he's cute and that was from ages ago because i am too lazy to take a picture of him, but he's all grown up now. cats mature so much in a year it's ridiculous. it's not a fat cat, though, and i'm glad because i hate fat cats.

I only had one pet ever and it was illegal. My great aunt from Asia gave us a chicken when she came here roughly 12 years ago. Neighbors called like cops or some shit cause it was too loud so we had to let it go. My dad just straight up released it out of yard into the streets. =[

P.S. F YOUR SIG CLOD

lol, kind of a necro but w/e
I have a REALLY cute mini schnauzer (sp? lol) and nothing else.
I positively ADORE dogs... they're so cute. Currently, one of the thigns I'd like to do after college is breed dogs... unfortunately, that kinda conflicts with my love of long trips to a mountain resort to snowboard>.>

One day in October, as Mother and I were coming home from grocery shopping, there was this small kitten, with patches of fur missing from his tail. the dogs nearly pounced him, but mother stopped them, and we went inside, waiting for it to leave. this whole process repeated a few times, until Father finally decided to keep it in the garage and try to get it adopted.

then, mid November, a cold front passed through and we couldn't keep him in the garage, which was close to the outside temperature. they moved him to the basement, where is where I spent most of the day. after a many long days of me trying to understand a cat and asking anyone to take him, there was a family vote as to keep him or not.

now, 8 months later, his name is Willy, he's a growing cat with a full coat of fur, and I think I'm the first real friend he's ever had. he still lives with us.

he's wounded me about 6 times at this point(the most recent one is still visible), bites me even while laying in my lap, but I don't feel spiteful about it, and I think he's just really wanting to hunt something. he's killed 2 mice, wounded and cornered another(a dog got it), and the rest more or less moved out after that.

the story with the 2 dogs(both lasting first impressions) and the other cat(mother's friend's relative was having trouble with the cat disturbing the baby) aren't half as interesting.

hahaha cloud your cat is awesome. and i don't even like cats generally.

I would post pictures of my Maltese up here but she recently gained a lot of weight and I don't want that shit on my camera. Y'know, her self esteem and all.

if your iguana happens to be male, you're in for a lot more than tail snaps...be prepared for your soon to be large, and probably quite aggressive lizard because there are way too many unwanted iggies out there, often thanks to people who assume vegetarian = friendly. handle it A LOT when its small if you have any hope of being able to manage it as an adult.

i have a sexy black greyhound that is named Mitzi (my sister named it, i wanted to name it growlithe) it is a real idiot and if you leave it alone for a second it cries and cries until you are near it, and then it just ignores you! if you're wondering it's pretty fast but we don't race it cos it doesn't wanna run!
