1v1 Pheromosa [DONE]

[OVERVIEW]

Pheromosa is a glass cannon in the 1v1 metagame. One of its main assets is its Speed tier, which lets it naturally outspeed most unboosted Pokemon like Zeraora and Mega Lopunny and even some Choice Scarf Pokemon like Modest Porygon-Z and Modest Tapu Lele. Furthermore, its high Attack and Special Attack coupled with its good movepool let it beat many top-tier Pokemon like Tapu Lele, Zygarde-C, and Jumpluff. Pheromosa's ability to run either physical or special sets, unlike most other Fighting-types, makes it an unpredictable foe in battle; this fact can be used to gain an advantage in Team Preview against Pokemon like Zygarde and Nihilego, since special Pheromosa counters Zygarde, and physical sets take on Nihilego. However, Pheromosa's pitiful bulk makes it vulnerable to hits from any Pokemon it cannot immediately KO, so it finds itself unable to have a positive matchup against bulky Pokemon like Gyarados, Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, and Magearna. This severely affects its usage and leaves it outclassed by other Fighting- and Bug-type Pokemon like Kommo-o, Mega Lopunny, and Volcarona.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

High Jump Kick is the most powerful STAB move Pheromosa has and helps it KO Pokemon weak to Fighting-type moves like non-Timid Choice Scarf Porygon-Z and Heatran. Its high Base Power also lets Pheromosa beat some Pokemon like Genesect and Zeraora, which take neutral damage from it. Lunge is used to KO Psychic- and Dark-type Pokemon like Greninja, Meloetta, and Mew. Poison Jab lets Pheromosa beat some Fairy-type Pokemon like Mega Gardevoir and Whimsicott. Outrage can be used to potentially KO Dragon-type Pokemon like Naganadel and Kommo-o. Double Kick is an option to lure in and secure the KO on Sturdy Pokemon, most commonly Magnezone and Magneton. This also lets it beat FEAR Pokemon like Aron and Magnemite. Giga Impact can also be used as a last-ditch effort to KO some physically frail Pokemon like offensive Mega Charizard Y and Mega Medicham that do not take so much damage from every other move. Throat Chop is a final option to KO some Ghost-type Pokemon like Mega Gengar and Blacephalon.

Set Details
========

252 Speed EVs along with a Jolly nature let Pheromosa outspeed Mega Alakazam, Zeraora, and Mega Lopunny. The remaining EVs are dumped into Attack, which, along with a Choice Band, increases Pheromosa's damage output. An Adamant nature can also be used to OHKO bulkier Pokemon such as defensive Tapu Lele, Mega Slowbro, Kommo-o, and Magnezone, but this means Pheromosa loses to the aforementioned faster Pokemon.

Usage Tips
========

Pheromosa is a glass cannon, so it should be matched up against Steel-, Normal-, Psychic-, and Dark-types that it can immediately KO with its STAB moves like Heatran, Porygon-Z, Meloetta, Mew, and Incineroar. It can also be brought in against Pokemon like Tapu Lele, Naganadel, Garchomp, and Mega Charizard Y that are defeated by its coverage moves in Poison Jab, Outrage, and Giga Impact. Since Pheromosa is a frail attacker and Choice-locked, try to go for the move that would immediately KO the opposing Pokemon. Avoid sending it out against bulky Pokemon like Gyarados, Charizard, Magearna, Primarina, and Tapu Fini, as they can tank any hit that Pheromosa throws at them and return the damage in full.

Team Options
========

Since Pheromosa is weak to physically bulky Pokemon like Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Magearna, Mega Venusaur, and Mega Metagross, some combination of bulky, special attacking nukes like Mega Charizard Y and Tapu Lele is good to pair with Pheromosa. Tapu Lele can check or counter Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, and Mega Venusaur, while Mega Charizard Y can check or counter Mega Metagross and Magearna. Since these Pokemon are not super fast, they appreciate Pheromosa handling frail Substitute users like Jumpluff and Whimsicott and many special tanks like Meloetta and Mega Gardevoir. Since Pheromosa can take out some slow Fairy-type Pokemon like Tapu Lele and Mega Gardevoir, some Pokemon that bait these Pokemon out like Mega Gyarados and special Dragonite pair well with it. Special Dragonite is particularly great as a teammate in this regard, as it can take on threats like Kommo-o, Zygarde-C, and Landorus-T. Since most Sturdy Pokemon like Donphan, Magnezone and Crustle counter Pheromosa, some of their counters like Mega Gyarados and Magnet Rise Groundium Z Excadrill and fast status users like Jumpluff and Smeargle can also make for good teammates. In return, Pheromosa can take out Fake Out users that threaten these Pokemon, such as Zeraora and Mega Lopunny if running a Jolly nature and bulky Tapu Lele and Mega Slowbro if Adamant. Grass-type Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Serperior, and Tapu Bulu make good teammates, since most Water-type Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, Primarina, Tapu Fini, and Mega Swampert are bulky enough to tank whatever hit Pheromosa throws at them and can return the damage in full. In return, Pheromosa takes out Tapu Lele, Greninja, Meloetta and Heatran, which trouble these Grass-types.

[SET]
name: Bulky Special Z-Move
move 1: Lunge
move 2: Focus Blast
move 3: Bug Buzz
move 4: Ice Beam
item: Fightinium Z
ability: Beast Boost
nature: Timid Nature
evs: 80 Def / 236 SpA / 192 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Lunge's Attack drop helps Pheromosa beat some not very effective attackers like Groundium Z Donphan and Golem. Focus Blast transforms into a 190-Base Power All-Out Pummeling that lets Pheromosa beat Pokemon like Heatran and Mega Lopunny as well as some neutral targets like Zeraora. Bug Buzz lets it take out Psychic-type Pokemon like Mega Slowbro most of the time. Being a sound-based move, it also goes through Substitute, which helps Pheromosa against faster Substitute users like non-Moonblast Whimsicott. Ice Beam lets Pheromosa beat Pokemon like Jumpluff, Zygarde, and non-Choice Scarf Landorus-T.

Set Details
========

80 Defense EVs let Pheromosa survive Tectonic Rage followed by Ice Shard from Donphan or Sucker Punch from Golem after their Attack stat has been reduced with Lunge. 192 Speed EVs along with a Timid Nature let Pheromosa outspeed maximum Speed Zeraora. The remaining EVs are dumped into Special Attack to maximize its chances of 2HKOing Mega Slowbro after the latter uses Amnesia on the first turn. A Timid nature is used over Naive nature to minimize the damage taken from Donphan's Counter. A heavily Defense-invested set with an EV spread of 200 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA / 52 Spe and a Bold or Lax nature with Focus Blast, Electroweb, Lunge, and Ice Beam or Blizzard can be used to reliably beat Mega Gyarados, but this loses to faster hard hitters like Zeraora and Mega Lopunny.

Usage Tips
========

Against physical attackers like Donphan and Golem, start off by using Lunge followed by All-Out Pummeling. Lunge's Attack drop allows Pheromosa to tank attacks from these Pokemon and beat them. Against most other Pokemon that don't resist Fighting-type moves such as neutral-natured Choice Scarf Porygon-Z, Zeraora, Heatran, and Genesect, the idea is to always get off All-Out Pummeling as soon as possible, since this usually KOes such Pokemon. Use Ice Beam against Pokemon 4x weak to Ice, such as Zygarde, Garchomp, Jumpluff, and Landorus-T, and against unfavorable foes like Tapu Lele, where its freeze chance could come in handy. Avoid sending Pheromosa out against bulky Pokemon like Gyarados, Charizard, and Magearna, as these Pokemon can tank any attack from it and return the damage in full. If you are using the heavily defensive set and are matched up against Mega Gyarados, the play is to use Electroweb turn one and then, based on damage rolls for Electroweb, use All-Out Pummeling turn 2 if Electroweb does more than 60% damage or use Electroweb again if it does less, as Pheromosa can take a Waterfall from boosted bulky Mega Gyarados

Team Options
========

Some powerful physical attackers like specially defensive Mega Mawile and Groundium Z Garchomp do well as Pheromosa's teammates, since Pheromosa can take on common counters to these Pokemon like Donphan, Golem, and Landorus-T. Mega Mawile can take out Mega Gyarados, Tapu Lele, and Magnezone, while Groundium Z Garchomp takes on Charizard and Magearna. Since Pheromosa is so frail, some bulky Pokemon like Mega Tyranitar and specially defensive Substitute Primarina serve as excellent teammates. While Mega Tyranitar stands out because it can take on Charizard, Genesect, and Magnezone and bait out Donphan and Golem, Primarina can also be used to take out Mega Gyarados and Charizard and take on Mega Metagross, with Pheromosa beating Garchomp and Jumpluff in return.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

The special Fightinium Z set can use a spread of 160 Def / 156 SpA / 192 Spe along with a Naive nature and a moveset of Lunge / Bug Buzz / Focus Blast / High Jump Kick, where the Defense EVs are used to tank a Heavy Slam from Mega Aggron after the Attack drop from Lunge. This variant also has a small advantage of having dual offensive capability, which can help against certain Pokemon, but the loss in damage is apparent when up against Mega Slowbro and most Kommo-o, and the Naive nature makes it lose to Scald Mega Slowbro. A Choice Specs set with Bug Buzz, Focus Blast, Ice Beam or Blizzard, and Hidden Power Rock or Hyper Beam can be used, using Bug Buzz to beat Serperior and Whimsicott; Focus Blast to beat Pokemon like Heatran and non-Timid Choice Scarf Porygon-Z; Ice Beam to beat Garchomp and Landorus-T; Blizzard to beat Kommo-o, Mega Altaria, and Dragonite; Hidden Power Rock to beat Mega Charizard Y; and Hyper Beam to beat foes that don't resist it like Mega Medicham. The big issue with this is the low accuracy of Focus Blast and Blizzard, which, when coupled with its horrendous bulk, makes Pheromosa unable to win reliably. Z-Moves can also be used as coverage moves, with options including Subzero Slammer from Blizzard to take on Kommo-o and most Dragonite and Acid Downpour from Poison Jab with an EV spread of 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe and an Adamant nature to give Pheromosa a good chance against bulkier Fairy-types like non-Choice Scarf Togekiss and Primarina. Jolly Pheromosa can be run in order to beat all variants of Togekiss, but this will leave Pheromosa with worse odds against Primarina. Such sets, however, do not beat anything apart from the limited range of Pokemon they can KO and are therefore used more as lure sets.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Pokemon**: Any Pokemon that can tank either of its movesets' attacks can defeat Pheromosa, as Pheromosa is as frail as it gets. Such Pokemon include Gyarados, Charizard, Aegislash, and Mega Venusaur, which can KO it back with one of their own moves or just drain Pheromosa's HP away with Leech Seed and Toxic.

**Faster Pokemon and Priority Move Users**: Choice Specs Deoxys-S outspeeds and KOes Pheromosa. Not many other Pokemon naturally outspeed Pheromosa, but Choice Scarf Pokemon like Timid Porygon-Z and Jolly Haxorus and boosted Speed Boost Pokemon like Mega Blaziken can take it out. Quick Attack Aerilate Mega Pinsir and Bullet Punch Technician Mega Scizor also KO it.

**Ghost-types**: Pokemon like Mega Gengar and Mega Sableye resist both of Pheromosa's STAB attacks and aren't typically affected by its coverage moves. Some Ghost-types should look out for Throat Chop, though.

Wrath of Alakazam Hi. QC team has decided for the main sets right now to be Choice Band and Z-Focus Blast. The set for Z-Focus Blast is:
Pheromosa @ Fightinium Z Ability: Beast Boost EVs: 160 Def / 188 SpA / 160 Spe Modest Nature - Bug Buzz - Ice Beam - Focus Blast - Lunge
tanks Aggron after Lunge, 2hkos slowbro, and outspeeds greninja.

Choice Band will just be 252/252 evs

edit: nevermind, we decided for fightnium that
EVs: 80 Def / 236 SpA / 192 Spe
Timid Nature would be best for evs. This outspeeds zeraora, lives a tectonic rage into ice shard from donphan after lunge, and 2hkos Mega Slowbro after amnesia with 97% being min roll, which is acceptable for a B- mon. The anti-aggron set can be an OO or alternative EVs

Bolded is additions, strikethrough is stuff that should be removed, underline needs to be edited in some way, red is comments. All information I bring are based on 1630 Usage stats (considering anything at or above 6% as of May 2019 usage relevant) and Calcs.
[OVERVIEW]

  • Pheromosa is a fast glass cannon in the 1v1 metagame.
  • One of Its main asset is its speed tier which lets it naturally outspeed most unboosted Pokemon in the tier like Zeraora and Mega Lopunny.
  • It also has high Attack and Special Attack stats which, when coupled with its good movepool, lets it beat many top tier Pokemon like Porygon-Z, Tapu Lele, Zygarde-C, and Jumpluff.
  • Pheromosa has a small advantage over some other Fighting-types because it can run either Physical, Special, or mixed you don't explain what purpose mixed serves, and lunge is only run to lower attack and break sturdy for the fightinium set. either remove this or explain why mixed fightinium is important in the OO This makes it an unpredictable foe in battle, and this fact can be used to gain an momentary advantage in team preview.
  • Pheromosa's pitiful bulk makes it vulnerable to hits from any Pokemon it cannot immediately KO. So, it finds itself unable to have a positive against bulky Pokemon which it can't KO, like Gyarados, Charizard and Magearna.
  • It also has the additional bane of not having an useful ability, which does it no good. kinda pointless fact, since its not actively hurting phero
  • A combination of these factors severely affects its usage, and leaves it outclassed by other Fighting- and Bug-type Pokemon like Kommo-O, Mega Lopunny, Crustle crustle never runs bug coverage, and Volcarona.

move 2: High Jump Kick
move 3: Poison Jab
move 4: Double Kick make this second, outrage more important imo / Outrage / Giga Impact
item: Choice Band
ability: Beast Boost
nature: Adamant Nature
EVs: 200 Atk / 80 Def / 228 Spe so, 80 def for donphan is pointless on band. They just use counter. Also, eving to outspeed mega gengar is pointless if the way you beat it is only move mention worthy. a simple 252/252 jolly/adamant (jolly for lop and zera, ada for Tapu Lele) ,4 in spdef is all you need, so you can beat mega alakazam.

Moves
========

  • Lunge is used to KO Psychic- and Dark-type Pokemon like Greninja, Meloetta, and Mew. It also reduces the Attack stat of opposing Pokemon, which helps it in beating some not very effective attackers like non-Counter Groundium Z Donphan and Golem. again, not going to work when they can just use counter
  • High Jump Kick as the most powerful STAB move Pheromosa has helps it KO Pokemon weak to Fighting-type move , like Porygon-Z and Heatran. Its high BP also lets Pheromosa beat some Pokemon like Genesect and Zeraora which take neutral damage from it.
  • Poison Jab lets it beat some Fairy-type Pokemon which resists both its STAB moves, like Tapu Lele, Mega Gardevoir, and Whimsicott.
  • Double Kick can be used to secure the KO on Sturdy Pokemon like Magnezone. This also lets it beat FEAR Pokemon like Aron and Magnemite. It also helps in countering Substitue Custap Berry Riolu
  • Outrage can also be used to secure the KO on Dragon-type Pokemon like Naganadel and Kommo-o. switch order
  • Giga Impact can also be used as a last-ditch to KO some physically frail Pokemon which does not take so much damage from every other move, like Mega Charizard Y.
  • Throat Chop can also be used to KO some Ghost-type Pokemon like Mega Gengar and Blacephalon.
Set Details
========

  • 80 Defense EVs lets Pheromosa live a Tectonic Rage followed by Ice Shard or Sucker Punch from Donphan or Golem respectively after the Attack drop from being hit by Lunge.
  • 228 252 Speed EVs lets Jolly Pheromosa outspeed max Speed Mega Gengar. Mega Alakazam, as well as slower threats such as Zeraora, Modest Choice Scarf Porygon Z, and Mega Lopunny.
  • The remaining EVs are dumped into Attack which, along with an Adamant Nature and a Choice Band, lets it beat non-Bold Kommo-o and most usual Magnezone sets. remove mention of nature, save that for later.
  • add 4 spdef for Genesect
  • Specify differences in running Adamant and running Jolly. Jolly allows Pheromosa to outspeed Mega Alakazam, Zeraora, Modest Choice Scarf PZ, Mega Lopunny, Adamant Scarf Haxorus, and Choice Scarf Hoopa-U. Adamant allows Pheromosa to reliably OHKO bulkier pokemon such as defensive Tapu Lele, Kommo-o, and Magnezone
  • An alternative EV of 236 Atk / 80 Def / 192 Spe and a Jolly Nature can be used to outspeed max Speed Zeraora.
Usage Tips
========

  • Pheromosa is a glass cannon, so it should be matched up against Pokemon which immediately gets KOd by either of its moves. So, bring it against some non-Choice Scarf Pokemon like non-Timid Choice Scarf Porygon-Z, non-Timid Choice Scarf Tapu Lele, Meloetta, Mew, Incineroar, and Naganadel.
  • Against Pokemon like Donphan and Golem, use Lunge to reduce their Attack stat, which is necessary to tank hits they use against you. This shouls let Pheromosa 2HKO both of those Pokemon while simultaneously avoiding the 2HKO from them.
  • Avoid sending it against bulky Pokemon like Gyarados, Charizard, Magearna, Primarina or Tapu Fini, as they can tank any hit that Pheromosa throws at them, and return the damage in full with their moves.
Team Options
========

  • Since Pheromosa is weak to bulky Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Magearna, Mega Venusaur, and Mega Metagross, which are mostly physically bulky, some combination of bulky special attacking nukes like Mega Charizard Y or Tapu Lele are good teammates for Lele Pheromosa. Tapu Lele can counter Mega Gyarados, Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, and Mega Venusaur, while Mega Charizard Y can counter Mega Gyarados, Mega Metagross, and Magearna. Since these Pokemon are not super fast, they appreciate Pheromosa handling speed traps like Jumpluff, Whimsicott, and many special tanks like Meloetta, Mega Gardevoir.
  • Since Pheromosa can take out some slow Fairy-type Pokemon like Tapu Lele and Mega Gardevoir, some Pokemon which bait these Pokemon like Mega Gyarados and special Dragonite. Incorporate this as an alternative EV spread, which reliably beats mega gyarados. The play is to eweb turn one, then, based on whether or not its bulky mgyara (based on damage rolls for eweb), z-focus blast turn 2 (which kos even if they don't mega) or eweb again bc you'll live a bulky mgyara's +1 waterfall, getting it in range of z-focus
Usage Tips

  • Against Mega Slowbro, just use Bug Buzz, since it has a high chance of 2HKOing Mega Slowbro even after it uses Amnesia during the first turn. kinda obvious, no explanation really needed
  • Use Ice Beam only and only if it surely KOs Pokemon, or if you are matched up against an unfavorable opponent like Tapu Lele, where it would could come in handy with a 10% freeze chance.
  • Avoid sending Pheromosa against bulky Pokemon like Gyarados, Charizard, and Magearna, as these Pokemon can tank any attack from Pheromosa and return the damage in full.
Team Options

The big issue with this is the low accuracy of Focus Blast and Blizzard, which, when coupled with its horrendous bulk, makes Pheromosa lose more often than not. unable to win reliably 70% is still a majority, just not good enough for a consistent team
  • Z Moves for coverage moves can also be used with moves like Subzero Slammer with Blizzard to take on Kommo-O and most Dragonite, Acid Downpour with Poison Jab, 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe, and an Adamant nature to give a good chance against more bulkier Fairy-types like non-Choice Scarf Togekiss, Clefable, 252+ Atk Pheromosa Acid Downpour (160 BP) vs. 252 HP / 232+ Def Clefable: 356-420 (90.3 - 106.5%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO not a good chance at all and Primarina. Jolly Pheromosa can be run in order to beat all forms of Togekiss, but will cause Pheromosa to have even worse odds with Primarina. They, however, do not beat anything apart from the limited amount of Pokemon they can KO, and therefore, used more as a lure set.

Quick Attack Aerialite Mega Pinsir and Bullet Punch Technician Scizor-Mega also KOs it.

Okay, so not much technically wrong, besides your flawed reasoning for bulk on banded phero. Just needs to be updated with more stuff we wanted to add, and therefore have some redundant information removed. Tag me with questions and after you've implemented so i can give it a second look

Moves
========

  • Lunge is used to KO Psychic- and Dark-type Pokemon like Greninja, Meloetta, and Mew.
  • High Jump Kick as the most powerful STAB move Pheromosa has helps it KO Pokemon weak to Fighting-type move, like non-Choice Scarf Timid Porygon-Z and Heatran. Its high BP also lets Pheromosa beat some Pokemon like Genesect and Zeraora which take neutral damage from it.

  • Outrage can also be used to secure the KO on Dragon-type Pokemon like Naganadel and Kommo-o.
  • Double Kick can be used to lure in and secure the KO on Sturdy Pokemon like Magnezone and Magneton. This also lets it beat FEAR Pokemon like Aron and Magnemite. It also helps in countering Substitue Custap Berry Riolu
  • Giga Impact can also be used as a last-ditch to KO some physically frail Pokemon which does not take so much damage from every other move, like offensive Mega Charizard Y.
  • Throat Chop can also be used to KO some Ghost-type Pokemon like Mega Gengar and Blacephalon.
Set Details
========

  • 252 Speed EVs along with a Jolly Nature lets Pheromosa outspeed Mega Alakazam, Zeraora, and Choice Scarf Hoopa-U. Mega Lopunny probably more relevant example
  • The remaining EVs are dumped into Attack which, along with a Choice Band, increases damage output.
  • An Adamant nature can also be used to OHKO bulkier pokemon such as defensive Tapu Lele, Mega Slowbro, Kommo-o, and Magnezone.
Usage Tips
========

  • Pheromosa is a glass cannon, so it should be matched up against Pokemon which immediately gets KOd by either of its moves. So, bring it against some non-Timid Choice Scarf Pokemon like Porygon-Z and Tapu Lele, and some Pokemon against which it has the type advantage, like Meloetta, Mew, Incineroar, and Naganadel.
  • Avoid sending it against bulky Pokemon like Gyarados, Charizard, Magearna, Primarina or Tapu Fini, as they can tank any hit that Pheromosa throws at them, and return the damage in full with their moves.
Team Options
========

  • Since Pheromosa is weak to bulky Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Magearna, Mega Venusaur, and Mega Metagross, which are mostly physically bulky, some combaintion of bulky special attacking nukes like Mega Charizard Y or Tapu Lele are good teammates for Pheromosa. • Focus Blast transforms into a 190 Base Power All Out Pummelling which lets Pheromosa beat Pokemon like Heatran and Mega Lopunny, and some neutral targets like Zeraora.
  • Bug Buzz lets it beat Psychic-type Pokemon like Mega Slowbro most of the time. Being a sound-based move, it also goes through Substitute, which helps it against faster Substitute user like non-Moonblast Whimsicott.
  • Ice Beam lets it beat Pokemon which are weak to it, like Jumpluff, Zygarde, and non-Choice Scarf Landorus-T.
Set Details
========

  • 80 Defense EVs lets Pheromosa lets a Tectonic Rage followed by Ice Shard or Sucker Punch from Donphan or Golem respectively whose Attack stat has been reduced because of Lunge.
  • 192 Speed EVs along with Timid Nature lets Pheromosa outspeed max Speed Zeraora.

Usage Tips
========

  • Against physical attackers like Donphan and Golem, start off by using Lunge followed by All-Out Pummeling. Lunge reduces the opposing Pokemon's Attatck stat, allowing Pheromosa to tank attacks from these Pokemon and KO them in return.
  • Against most other Pokemon who don't immediately resist Fighting-type moves, the idea is always get off All-Out Pummeling as soon as possible, since this usually KOs such Pokemon. These Pokemon include non-Timid Choice Scarf Porygon-Z, Zeraora, Heatran, and Genesect.
  • Use Ice Beam only and only if it surely KOs Pokemon, against Pokemon 4x weak to Ice, such as Zygarde, Garchomp, Jumpluff, and Landorus-T, or if you are matched up against an unfavorable opponent like Tapu Lele, where it could come in handy with a 10% freeze chance.
  • Avoid sending Pheromosa against bulky Pokemon like Gyarados, Charizard, and Magearna, as these Pokemon can tank any attack from Pheromosa and return the damage in full.
  • If you are using the heavily defensive set, and you are matched up against Mega Gyarados, the play is to Electroweb turn one and then, based on damage rolls for Electroweb, use All-Out Pummeling turn 2 if Electroweb does more than 50% damage, or Electroweb again if it does less, because you live a Waterfall from boosted bulky Mega Gyarados, getting it in range of All-Out Pummeling.

This is due to Pheromosa being able to take on common counters to these Pokemon like Donphan, Golem, and Landorus-T. Mega Mawile can take out Mega Gyarados, Tapu Lele and Magnezone, while Groundium Z Garchomp takes on Charizard and Magearna.
  • Since Pheromosa is so frail, some bulky Pokemon like Mega Tyranitar, Substitute physically defensive Primarina serve as excellent teammates for Pheromosa. While Mega Tyranitar stands out since it can take on Charizard, Genesect, Magnezone, and can bait Donphan and Golem for Pheromosa, Primarina can also be used to take out Mega Gyarados and Charizard and can take on Mega Metagross.

  • The special Fightinium set can use 160 Def / 156 SpA / 192 Spe, along with a Naive nature and Lunge / Bug Buzz / Focus Blast / High Jump Kick, where the 160 Def EVs are to tank a Heavy Slam from Mega Aggron after the attack drop from Lunge. This also has a small advantage of having dual offensive capability which can help against certain Pokemon, but the loss in offensive output is apparent when up against Mega Slowbro and most Kommo-o, and the Naive nature makes it lose to Scald Mega Slowbro.
  • A Choice Specs set with Bug Buzz, Focus Blast, Ice Beam or Blizzard, and Hidden Power Rock or Hyper Beam can be used. The big issue with this is the low accuracy of Focus Blast and Blizzard which, when coupled with its horrendous bulk, makes Pheromosa unable to win reliably.
  • Z Moves for coverage moves can also be used with moves like Subzero Slammer with Blizzard to take on Kommo-O and most Dragonite, Acid Downpour with Poison Jab, 252 Atk / 252 Spe, and an Adamant nature to give a good chance against more bulkier Fairy-types like non-Choice Scarf Togekiss and Primarina. Jolly Pheromosa can be run in order to beat all forms of Togekiss, but will cause Pheromosa to have even worse odds with Primarina. They, however, do not beat anything apart from the limited amount of Pokemon they can KO, and therefore, used more as a lure set
Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Pokemon**: Any Pokemon which can tank either of its movesets can defeat Pheromosa, as Pheromosa is as frail as it gets. Such Pokemon include Gyarados, Charizard, Aegislash, and Mega Venusaur, and they can tank any hit Pheromosa throws at it, and either KO it back with one of its own moves, or just drain its HP away with Leech Seed or Toxic.

**Faster and priority move using Pokemon**: Choice Specs Deoxys-Speed outspeeds and KOs Pheromosa. Not many other Pokemon naturally outspeed Pheromosa, but Choice Scarf Pokemon like Timid Porygon-Z and Jolly Haxorus, and Speed Boost Pokemon like Mega Blaziken outspeeds Pheromosa after a Protect and KOs. Quick Attack Aerialite Mega Pinsir and Bullet Punch Technician Scizor-Mega also KOs it.

  • Pheromosa's pitiful bulk makes it vulnerable to hits from any Pokemon it cannot immediately KO. So, it finds itself unable to have a positive matchup against bulky Pokemon which it can't KO, like Gyarados, Mega Charizard X and Y, and Magearna.
  • A combination of these factors severely affects its usage, and leaves it outclassed by other Fighting- and Bug-type Pokemon like Kommo-O, Mega Lopunny, and Volcarona. Make sure to mention what else Pheromosa can do over these folks, if I was a new player, I would be highly discouraged to not play Phero and just play either of the three, especially since, let's get Kommo-o for example, still beats Zeraora, Mega Lop, Pz and with the added Gyarados as well. Usage Tips

Pheromosa is a glass cannon, so it should be matched up against Pokemon which immediately gets KOd by either of its moves. [Add at least one line about it being a choice band user, so and it nearly always being optimal to go for the strongest attack or incorporate that when you talk about the type matchups]

[Mention ghost types as they resist both STABs and aren't typically affected by Pheromosa's Coverage moves]

252+ Atk Choice Band Pheromosa Double Kick (2 hits) vs. 80 HP / 4 Def Magnezone: 304-360 (100.9 - 119.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

while there is still a small chance that Double Kick does OHKO a 252 HP Magnezone
252+ Atk Choice Band Pheromosa Double Kick (2 hits) vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Magnezone: 304-360 (88.3 - 104.6%) -- approx. 12.5% chance to OHKO

Because of this and the fact that Magnezone is more popular and viable than Magneton, I feel it's more relevant to mention.

[OVERVIEW]

Pheromosa is a glass cannon in the 1v1 metagame. Pheromosa has a small advantage over some other Fighting-types because it can run either be both physically or specially offensive. This makes it an unpredictable foe in battle, and this fact can be used to gain an momentary advantage in team preview against Pokemon like Zygarde and Nihilego, since Pheromosa counters Zygarde with special sets and Nihilego with physical sets. Pheromosa's pitiful bulk makes it vulnerable to hits from any Pokemon it cannot immediately KO,(-period,+comma) so(-comma) it finds itself unable to have a positive matchup against bulky Pokemon which it can't KO, like Gyarados, Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, and Magearna. A combination of these factors severely affects its usage, and leaves it outclassed by other Fighting- and Bug-type Pokemon like Kommo-o, Mega Lopunny, and Volcarona. Despite all these shortcomings, it still carves a decent niche for itself as a fast nuke which is also capable of taking care of Pokemon like Nihilego and Whimsicott, and as a Fighting-type Pokemon which doesn't auto(add space)lose to Psychic-type Pokemon like Meloetta and Mew.

move 3: Poison Jab
move 4: Outrage / Double Kick / Giga Impact
item: Choice Band
ability: Beast Boost

EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

High Jump Kick,(+comma) as the most powerful STAB move Pheromosa has,(+comma) helps it KO Pokemon weak to Fighting-type move, like non-Timid Choice Scarf Porygon-Z and Heatran. Its high Base Power also lets Pheromosa beat some Pokemon like Genesect and Zeraora,(+comma) which take neutral damage from it. Lunge is used to KO Psychic- and Dark-type Pokemon like Greninja, Meloetta, and Mew. Poison Jab lets it beat some Fairy-type Pokemon like Mega Gardevoir and Whimsicott. Outrage can also be used to potentially KO Dragon-type Pokemon like Naganadel and Kommo-o. Double Kick can be used to lure in and secure the KO on Sturdy Pokemon like the most commonly used Magnezone and Magneton. This also lets it beat FEAR Pokemon like Aron and Magnemite. Giga Impact can also be used as a last-ditch for Pheromosa to KO some physically frail Pokemon which does not take so much damage from every its other moves, like offensive Mega Charizard Y and Mega Medicham. Throat Chop can also be used to KO some Ghost-type Pokemon like Mega Gengar and Blacephalon.

Set Details
========

252 Speed EVs along with a Jolly Nature lets Pheromosa outspeed Mega Alakazam, Zeraora, and Mega Lopunny. The remaining EVs are dumped into Attack which, along with a Choice Band, increases damage output. An Adamant nature can also be used to OHKO bulkier Pokemon such as defensive Tapu Lele, Mega Slowbro, Kommo-o, and Magnezone, but this Pheromosa will loses to faster Pokemon like Zeraora and Mega Lopunny.

Usage Tips
========

Pheromosa is a glass cannon, so it should be matched up against Steel-, Normal-, Psychic-, and Dark-types Pokemon which immediately gets KOed by its STAB moves like Heatran, Porygon-Z, Meloetta, Mew, and Incineroar. It can also be brought in against Pokemon which are defeated by its coverage moves, like Tapu Lele with Poison Jab, Naganadel and Garchomp with Outrage, and Mega Mega Charizard Y with Giga Impact. Pheromosa,(+comma) being a frail attacker and choice-locked, should try to go for the move which would immediately KO the opposing Pokemon. Avoid sending it against bulky Pokemon like Gyarados, Charizard, Magearna, Primarina,(+comma) or Tapu Fini, as they can tank any hit moves that Pheromosa throws at them, and return the damage in full with their moves.

Team Options
========

Since Pheromosa is weak to bulky Pokemon like Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Magearna, Mega Venusaur, and Mega Metagross, which are mostly physically bulky, some a combaintion combination of bulky special attacking specially offensive nukes like Mega Charizard Y or Tapu Lele are good teammates for Pheromosa. Tapu Lele can check or counter Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, and Mega Venusaur, while Mega Charizard Y can check or counter Mega Metagross(-comma) and Magearna. Since these Pokemon are not super fast, they appreciate Pheromosa handling frail Substitite users like Jumpluff, Whimsicott, and many special tanks like Meloetta and Mega Gardevoir. Since Pheromosa can take out some slow Fairy-type Pokemon like Tapu Lele and Mega Gardevoir, some Pokemon which bait these Pokemon like Mega Gyarados and special Dragonite can be good teammates. Special Dragonite is particularly great as a teammate in this regard as it can take on threats like Kommo-o, Zygarde-C, and Landorus-T. Since most Sturdy Pokemon like Donphan, Magnezone and Crustle counter Pheromosa, some counters like Mega Gyarados and Magnet Rise Groundium Z Excadrill, or speed traps like Jumpluff or and Smeargle can also make for good teammates to Pheromosa. In turn, Pheromosa can take out Fake Out users which threaten these Pokemon like Zeraora,(+comma) and Mega Lopunny,(+comma) if Adamant(-comma) or bulky Tapu Lele,(+comma) and Mega Slowbro if running an Adamant nature. Grass-type Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Serperior, or Tapu Bulu make good teammates, since most Water-type Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, Primarina, Tapu Fini and Mega Swampert are bulky enough to tank whatever hit Pheromosa throws at it and can return the damage in full. In turn, Pheromosa takes out Tapu Lele, Greninja, Meloetta and Heatran, which trouble these Grass-types.

move 2: Focus Blast

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Lunge reduces the Attack stat of opposing Pokemon, which helps it in beating some not very effective attackers like Groundium Z Donphan and Golem. Focus Blast transforms into a 190 Base Power All-(+hyphen)Out Pummelling,(+comma) which lets Pheromosa beat Pokemon like Heatran and Mega Lopunny, and some neutral targets like Zeraora. Bug Buzz lets it beat Psychic-type Pokemon like Mega Slowbro most of the time. Being a sound-based move, it also goes through Substitute, which helps it against faster Substitute users like non-Moonblast Whimsicott. Ice Beam lets it beat Pokemon which are weak to it, like Jumpluff, Zygarde, and non-Choice Scarf Landorus-T.

Set Details
========

80 Defense EVs lets Pheromosa lets take a Tectonic Rage followed by Ice Shard or Sucker Punch from Donphan or Golem respectively,(+comma) whose which Attack stat has been reduced because of Lunge. 192 Speed EVs along with a Timid Nature lets Pheromosa outspeed max Zeraora with maximum Speed investment. The remaining EVs are dumped into Special Attack to maximize its chance of 2HKOing Mega Slowbro after the latter uses Amnesia in the first turn. A Timid nature is used to minimize the damage taken from Donphan's Counter. A heavily physical defensively invested set with 200 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA / 52 Spe EVs and a Bold or Lax Nature, with Focus Blast, Electroweb, Lunge, and Ice Beam or Blizzard can be used to reliably beat Mega Gyarados, but this loses to faster hard hitters like Zeraora and Mega Lopunny.

Usage Tips
========

Against physical attackers like Donphan and Golem, start off by using Lunge followed by All-Out Pummeling. Lunge reduces the opposing Pokemon's Attatck stat, allowing Pheromosa to tank attacks from these Pokemon and KO them in return. Against most other Pokemon who don't immediately resist Fighting-type moves which are neutral to Fighting, the idea is to always get off All-Out Pummeling as soon as possible, since this usually KOes such Pokemon. These Pokemon include non-Timid Choice Scarf Porygon-Z, Zeraora, Heatran, and Genesect. Use Ice Beam against Pokemon 4x weak to Ice, such as Zygarde, Garchomp, Jumpluff, and Landorus-T(-space), or if you are matched up against an unfavorable opponent like Tapu Lele, where it could come in handy with a 10% freeze chance. Avoid sending Pheromosa against bulky Pokemon like Gyarados, Charizard, and Magearna, as these Pokemon can tank any attack from Pheromosa and return the damage in full. If you are using the heavily defensive set, and you are matched up against Mega Gyarados, the play is to Electroweb turn one and then, based on damage rolls for Electroweb, use All-Out Pummeling turn 2 if Electroweb does more than 60% damage, or Electroweb again if it does less, because you live a Waterfall from boosted bulky Mega Gyarados, getting it in range of All-Out Pummeling.

Team Options
========

Some Powerful physical attackers like specially defensive Mega Mawile or Groundium Z Garchomp does well as Pheromosa's teammates. This is due to Pheromosa being able to take on common counters to these Pokemon like Donphan, Golem, and Landorus-T. Mega Mawile can take out Mega Gyarados, Tapu Lele,(+comma) and Magnezone, while Groundium Z Garchomp takes on Charizard and Magearna. Since Pheromosa is so frail, some bulky Pokemon like Mega Tyranitar or Substitute specially defensive Primarina with Substitute serve as excellent teammates for Pheromosa. While Mega Tyranitar stands out since it can take on Charizard, Genesect, Magnezone, and can bait Donphan and Golem for Pheromosa, Primarina can also be used to take out Mega Gyarados and Charizard and can take on Mega Metagross, with Pheromosa beating Garchomp and Jumpluff for Primarina.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

The special Fightinium set can use 160 Def / 156 SpA / 192 Spe, along with a Naive nature and Lunge / Bug Buzz / Focus Blast / High Jump Kick, where the 160 Def EVs are used to tank a Heavy Slam from Mega Aggron after the attack drop from Lunge. This also has a small advantage of having dual offensive capability which can help against certain Pokemon, but the loss in offensive output is apparent when up against Mega Slowbro and most Kommo-o sets, and the Naive nature makes it lose to Scald Mega Slowbro. A Choice Specs set with Bug Buzz, Focus Blast, Ice Beam or Blizzard, and Hidden Power Rock or Hyper Beam can be used, with Bug Buzz beating Serperior and Whimsicott, Focus Blast to beating Pokemon like Heatran and non-Timid Choice Scarf Porygon-Z, Ice Beam to beating Garchomp and Landorus-T, Blizzard to beating Kommo-o, Mega Altaria,(+comma) and Dragonite, Hidden Power Rock to beating Mega Charizard Y, and Hyper Beam to beating non-resists like Mega Medicham(-space).(You can either use all "to beat" or "beating") The big issue with this is the low accuracy of Focus Blast and Blizzard which, when coupled with its horrendous bulk, makes Pheromosa unable to win reliably. Z-(+hyphen)Moves for coverage moves can also be used with moves like Subzero Slammer with Blizzard to take on Kommo-o and most Dragonite sets, Acid Downpour with Poison Jab, 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe EVs, and an Adamant nature to give a good chance against more bulkier Fairy-types like non-Choice Scarf Togekiss and Primarina. Jolly Pheromosa can be run in order to beat all forms of Togekiss, but will cause Pheromosa to have even worse odds with Primarina. They, however, do not beat anything apart from the limited amount of Pokemon they can KO, and therefore, used more as a lure set.

[OVERVIEW]
Pheromosa is a glass cannon in the 1v1 metagame. One of its main asset assets is its Speed tier, (AC) which lets it naturally outspeed most unboosted Pokemon in the tier like Zeraora and Mega Lopunny and even outspeed some Choice Scarf Pokemon like Modest Porygon-Z and Modest Tapu Lele. Furthermore, its It also has high Attack and Special Attack stats which, when coupled with its good movepool, lets let it beat many top-tier (AH) Pokemon like Tapu Lele, Zygarde-C, and Jumpluff. Pheromosa's ability to has a small advantage over some other Fighting-types because it can run either physical or special sets, unlike most other Fighting-types, This (little liberal but this can be one sentence just fine) makes it an unpredictable foe in battle; (SC) and this fact can be used to gain an momentary a advantage in Team Preview against Pokemon like Zygarde and Nihilego, since special Pheromosa counters Zygarde with special sets and Nihilego with physical sets take on Nihilego. However, Pheromosa's pitiful bulk makes it vulnerable to hits from any Pokemon it cannot immediately KO, so KO. So, it finds itself unable to have a positive matchup against bulky Pokemon which it can't KO, like Gyarados, Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, and Magearna. A combination of these factors severely affects its usage (RC) and leaves it outclassed by other Fighting- and Bug-type Pokemon like Kommo-o, Mega Lopunny, and Volcarona. Despite all these shortcomings, it still carves a decent niche for itself as a fast nuke which that is also capable of taking care of Pokemon like Nihilego and Whimsicott, Whimsicott and as a Fighting-type Pokemon which that doesn't automatically lose to Psychic-type Pokemon like Meloetta and Mew.

Moves

High Jump Kick as is the most powerful STAB move Pheromosa has, which helps it KO Pokemon weak to Fighting-type move moves, like non-Timid Choice Scarf Porygon-Z and Heatran. Its high BP Base Power also lets Pheromosa beat some Pokemon like Genesect and Zeraora, (AC) which take neutral damage from it. Lunge is used to KO Psychic- and Dark-type Pokemon like Greninja, Meloetta, and Mew. Poison Jab lets it Pheromosa beat some Fairy-type Pokemon like Mega Gardevoir and Whimsicott. Outrage can also be used to potentially KO Dragon-type Pokemon like Naganadel and Kommo-o. Double Kick can be used is an option (repetition) to lure in and secure the KO on Sturdy Pokemon, (AC) like most commonly used Magnezone and Magneton. This also lets it beat FEAR Pokemon like Aron and Magnemite. Giga Impact can also be used as a last-ditch effort to KO some physically frail Pokemon which does that do not take so much damage from every other move, like offensive Mega Charizard Y and Mega Medicham. Throat Chop can also be used is a final option to KO some Ghost-type Pokemon like Mega Gengar and Blacephalon.

252 Speed EVs along with a Jolly (Adamant's first slash though) nature lets let Pheromosa outspeed Mega Alakazam, Zeraora, and Mega Lopunny. The remaining EVs are dumped into Attack, (AC) which, along with a Choice Band, increases Pheromosa's damage output. An Adamant nature can also be used to OHKO bulkier Pokemon such as defensive Tapu Lele, Mega Slowbro, Kommo-o, and Magnezone, but this means Pheromosa loses to the aforementioned faster Pokemon like Zeraora and Mega Lopunny.

Usage Tips
========
Pheromosa is a glass cannon, so it should be matched up against Steel-, Normal-, Psychic-, and Dark-types Pokemon which that it can immediately gets KOd KOed by KO with its STAB moves like Heatran, Porygon-Z, Meloetta, Mew, and Incineroar. It can also be brought in against Pokemon which that are defeated by its coverage moves, like Tapu Lele with Poison Jab, Naganadel and Garchomp with Outrage, Mega and Mega Charizard Y with Giga Impact. Since Pheromosa being a frail attacker and Choice-locked, try to go for the move which that would immediately KO the opposing Pokemon. Avoid sending it against bulky Pokemon like Gyarados, Charizard, Magearna, Primarina, (AC) or and Tapu Fini, as they can tank any hit that Pheromosa throws at them (RC) and return the damage in full with their moves.

Team Options
========
Since Pheromosa is weak to physically bulky Pokemon like Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Magearna, Mega Venusaur, and Mega Metagross, which are mostly physically bulky, some combaintion combination of bulky special attacking nukes like Mega Charizard Y or and Tapu Lele are good teammates for is good to pair with Pheromosa. Tapu Lele can check or counter Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, and Mega Venusaur, while Mega Charizard Y can check or counter Mega Metagross, Metagross and Magearna. Since these Pokemon are not super fast, they appreciate Pheromosa handling frail Substitite Substitute users like Jumpluff, Jumpluff and Whimsicott, Whimsicott and many special tanks like Meloetta and Mega Gardevoir. Since Pheromosa can take out some slow Fairy-type Pokemon like Tapu Lele and Mega Gardevoir, some Pokemon which that bait these Pokemon like Mega Gyarados and special Dragonite pair well with it. Special Dragonite is particularly great as a teammate in this regard, (AC) as it can take on threats like Kommo-o, Zygarde-C, and Landorus-T. Since most Sturdy Pokemon like Donphan, Magnezone and Crustle counter Pheromosa, some of their counters like Mega Gyarados and Magnet Rise Groundium Z Excadrill, Excadrill or speed traps fast status users like Jumpluff or and Smeargle can also make for good teammates to Pheromosa . In turn, Pheromosa can take out Fake Out users which that threaten these Pokemon, like Zeraora and Mega Lopunny if running a Adamant Jolly nature (RC) or bulky Tapu Lele and Mega Slowbro if Adamant. Grass-type Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Serperior, or and Tapu Bulu make good teammates, since most Water-type Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, Primarina, Tapu Fini, (AC) and Mega Swampert are bulky enough to tank whatever hit Pheromosa throws at it them and can return the damage in full. In turn, Pheromosa takes out Tapu Lele, Greninja, Meloetta and Heatran, which trouble these Grass-types.

Lunge's reduces the Attack stat of opposing Pokemon, which drop helps it in beating some not very effective attackers like Groundium Z Donphan and Golem. Focus Blast transforms into a 190-Base (AH) Power All-Out (AH) Pummelling which that lets Pheromosa beat Pokemon like Heatran and Mega Lopunny, and as well as some neutral targets like Zeraora. Bug Buzz lets it beat take out (repetition) Psychic-type Pokemon like Mega Slowbro most of the time. Being a sound-based move, it also goes through Substitute, which helps it Pheromosa against faster Substitute user like non-Moonblast Whimsicott. Ice Beam lets it Pheromosa beat Pokemon which are weak to it, like Jumpluff, Zygarde, and non-Choice Scarf Landorus-T.

Set Details
========
80 Defense EVs lets let Pheromosa lets survive a Tectonic Rage followed by Ice Shard from Donphan or Sucker Punch from Donphan or Golem respectively whose after their Attack stat has been reduced because of with Lunge. 192 Speed EVs along with a Timid Nature lets let Pheromosa outspeed maximum Speed Zeraora. The remaining EVs are dumped into Special Attack to maximize its chance of 2HKOing Mega Slowbro after the latter uses Amnesia in on the first turn. A Timid nature is used to minimize the damage taken from Donphan's Counter. A heavily physical defensively invested set with 200 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA / 52 Spe EVs and a Bold or Lax nature (RC) with Focus Blast, Electroweb, Lunge, and Ice Beam or Blizzard can be used to reliably beat Mega Gyarados, but this loses to faster hard hitters like Zeraora and Mega Lopunny.

Usage Tips
========
Against physical attackers like Donphan and Golem, start off by using Lunge followed by All-Out Pummeling. Lunge's reduces the opposing Pokemon's Attatck Attack stat, allowing drop allows Pheromosa to tank attacks from these Pokemon and KO them in return. Against most other Pokemon who that don't immediately resist Fighting-type moves such as neutral-natured Choice Scarf Porygon-Z, Zeraora, Heatran, and Genesect, the idea is always get off All-Out Pummeling as soon as possible, since this usually KOs KOes such Pokemon. These Pokemon include non-Timid Choice Scarf Porygon-Z, Zeraora, Heatran, and Genesect. Use Ice Beam against Pokemon 4x weak to Ice, such as Zygarde, Garchomp, Jumpluff, and Landorus-T, or if you are matched up against an unfavorable opponent like Tapu Lele, where its freeze chance could come in handy with a 10% freeze chance. Avoid sending Pheromosa out against bulky Pokemon like Gyarados, Charizard, and Magearna, as these Pokemon can tank any attack from Pheromosa it and return the damage in full. If you are using the heavily defensive set (RC) and you are matched up against Mega Gyarados, the play is to Electroweb turn one and then, based on damage rolls for Electroweb, use All-Out Pummeling turn 2 if Electroweb does more than 60% damage, or use Electroweb again if it does less, because you live Pheromosa can take a Waterfall from boosted bulky Mega Gyarados, getting it in range of All-Out Pummeling. Some powerful physical attackers like specially Defensive defensive Mega Mawile or and Groundium Z Garchomp does do well as Pheromosa's teammates, (comma) This is due to since Pheromosa being able to can take on common counters to these Pokemon like Donphan, Golem, and Landorus-T. Mega Mawile can take out Mega Gyarados, Tapu Lele, (AC) and Magnezone, while Groundium Z Garchomp takes on Charizard and Magearna. Since Pheromosa is so frail, some bulky Pokemon like Mega Tyranitar or Substitute specially defensive Primarina serve as excellent teammates for Pheromosa. While Mega Tyranitar stands out since because it can take on Charizard, Genesect, and Magnezone (RC) and can bait Donphan and Golem for Pheromosa, Primarina can also be used to take out Mega Gyarados and Charizard and can take on Mega Metagross, with Pheromosa beating Garchomp and Jumpluff for Primarina in return.

The special Fightinium Z set can use a spread of 160 Def / 156 SpA / 192 Spe (RC) along with a Naive nature and Lunge / Bug Buzz / Focus Blast / High Jump Kick, where the 160 Defense EVs are used to tank a Heavy Slam from Mega Aggron after the Attack drop from Lunge. This variant also has a small advantage of having dual offensive capability, (AC) which can help against certain Pokemon, but the loss in offensive output is apparent when up against Mega Slowbro and most Kommo-o, and the Naive nature makes it lose to Scald Mega Slowbro. A Choice Specs set with Bug Buzz, Focus Blast, Ice Beam or Blizzard, and Hidden Power Rock or Hyper Beam can be used, with using Bug Buzz beating to beat Serperior and Whimsicott; (SC) Focus Blast to beat Pokemon like Heatran and non-Timid Choice Scarf Porygon-Z; (SC) Ice Beam to beat Garchomp and Landorus-T; (SC) Blizzard to beat Kommo-o, Mega Altaria, (add comma) and Dragonite; (SC) Hidden Power Rock to beat Mega Charizard Y; (SC) and Hyper Beam to beat non-resists foes that don't resist it like Mega Medicham . The big issue with this is the low accuracy of Focus Blast and Blizzard, (AC) which, when coupled with its horrendous bulk, makes Pheromosa unable to win reliably. Z-Moves (AH) for coverage moves can also be used as coverage moves, with moves like options including Subzero Slammer with from Blizzard to take on Kommo-o and most Dragonite (RC) and Acid Downpour with from Poison Jab (RC) with an EV spread of 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe (RC) and an Adamant nature to give Pheromosa a good chance against more bulkier Fairy-types like non-Choice Scarf Togekiss and Primarina. Jolly Pheromosa can be run in order to beat all forms variants of Togekiss, but this will cause leave Pheromosa to have even with worse odds with Primarina. They Such sets, however, do not beat anything apart from the limited amount range of Pokemon they can KO (RC) and are therefore, therefore used more as a lure set.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Bulky Pokemon**: Any Pokemon which that can tank either of its movesets' attacks can defeat Pheromosa, as Pheromosa is as frail as it gets. Such Pokemon include Gyarados, Charizard, Aegislash, and Mega Venusaur, and they who (which) can tank any hit Pheromosa throws at it, and either KO it back with one of its own moves, moves or just drain its HP away with Leech Seed or Toxic.

**Faster and priority move using Pokemon and Priority Move Users**: Choice Specs Deoxys-Speed outspeeds and KOs KOes Pheromosa. Not many other Pokemon naturally outspeed Pheromosa, but Choice Scarf Pokemon like Timid Porygon-Z and Jolly Haxorus, Haxorus and boosted Speed Boost Pokemon like Mega Blaziken outspeeds Pheromosa after a Protect and KOs. KOes can take it out. Quick Attack Aerialite Mega Pinsir and Bullet Punch Technician Mega Scizor-Mega also KOs KOes (KO, plural)it.

**Ghost-types**: (AH) Pokemon like Mega Gengar and Mega Sableye resist both Pheromosa's STABs STAB attacks and aren't typically affected by Pheromosa's its coverage moves. Some Ghost-types should look out for Throat Chop, though.
