Battle Spot Pheromosa (Singles)

[OVERVIEW]

Pheromosa possesses excellent traits as an offensive threat in Battle Spot Singles. Its high offensive stats, nearly unparalleled Speed tier, and decent movepool let it pose a threat to almost the entire metagame. Pheromosa can run a variety of sets, such as mixed attacker and special attacker, both of which are threatening in their own right. In addition, Beast Boost amplifies Pheromosa's offensive presence, as with the right nature, it will progressively become harder to defensively handle due to Beast Boost. Pheromosa's access to U-turn allows it to effectively pivot out of unfavorable matchups, which few offensive threats can do. However, its reliance on Bug- and Fighting-type STAB moves to effectively dish out damage means Pheromosa suffers from the prevalence of Ghost-types such as Aegislash, Mega Gengar, and Mimikyu, all of which not only discourage Pheromosa's strongest STAB move, High Jump Kick, but also can effectively wall or defeat it, depending on what move Pheromosa opts for on its already crowded space for coverage options. Pheromosa's horrid bulk should also be noted, as essentially any neutral hit from an offensive foe will likely KO it, and some priority moves like Mamoswine's Ice Shard can pick off Pheromosa with some prior damage. This means Pheromosa is reliant on predictions and being able to KO a foe; if it fails to accomplish either, it will not likely be given a second chance.

Moves
========

High Jump Kick, with a Naughty nature and a boost from Life Orb, inflicts serious damage on any non-resistant foe, being capable of scoring 2HKOs on some of the physically bulkiest foes, such as Celesteela, Hippowdon, and Mega Scizor. U-turn allows Pheromosa to pivot out on forced switches and in unfavorable matchups, letting it do decent damage while securing momentum. Ice Beam OHKOes very common threats such as Landorus-T, Mega Salamence, Naganadel, and Garchomp, all of which can comfortably handle Pheromosa's other attacks. The last moveslot is flexible and can be chosen according to Pheromosa's teammates will benefit from. Drill Run OHKOes Mega Gengar and has a chance to 2HKO defensive Aegislash and Toxapex. Poison Jab hits Fairy-types, notably letting Pheromosa 2HKO Tapu Fini, which it otherwise cannot 2HKO, and quickly dispose of Tapu Lele, Assault Vest Tapu Bulu, and Primarina.

Set Details
========

The given EV spread maximizes Pheromosa's general damage output by letting it hit foes as hard as possible with physical moves. The nature can be chosen depending on what Pheromosa has to accomplish; a Naughty nature allows Pheromosa to meet many important offensive benchmarks, such as being able to 2HKO Hippowdon, Celesteela, and Skarmory with High Jump Kick. A Naughty nature also boosts Pheromosa's Attack with Beast Boost every time it KOes a foe. A Naive nature, on the other hand, forgoes damage output in exchange for Pheromosa's ability to outspeed neutral-natured Choice Scarf variants of Landorus-T and Tapu Lele, +1 Mega Gyarados, Mega Lopunny, and Mega Manectric. Life Orb boosts Pheromosa's general damage output beyond serviceable levels by turning many 3HKOs into 2HKOs at the cost of recoil damage, which isn't too detrimental when accounting for Pheromosa's frailty. A Focus Sash prevents Pheromosa from getting OHKOed; if the item is properly preserved, it can let Pheromosa revenge kill dangerous threats like boosted Mega Salamence in a pinch.

Usage Tips
========

Due to the number of foes it can threaten, Pheromosa makes an effective lead that can force switches and grab momentum for its team. If not used as a lead, Pheromosa shouldn't be brought into any attacks but through pivoting from a different teammate, double switching, or switching in after a teammate faints instead. Use prediction to maximize Pheromosa's damage output, especially when using High Jump Kick. Unless Ghost-type foes are absent, it is safer to use U-turn early in order to analyze how an opponent responds to Pheromosa and avoid retaliation from Focus Sash users. Predicting Ghost-types switching in is a promising idea, especially if Pheromosa is sure to force out a foe, as an appropriate prediction against the likes of Aegislash and Mega Gengar will make them easier to take down later. If equipped with a Focus Sash, Pheromosa can be used in a straightforward way to revenge kill a foe by utilizing its item to survive any attack from full health. When using High Jump Kick, be wary of foes that may carry Protect, such as Celesteela and Ferrothorn.

Team Options
========

Although Pheromosa requires relatively minimal support from its team to successfully perform its role, some Pokemon are notable for providing invaluable support when paired with it. Tapu Lele is one of the best teammates to Pheromosa for a number of reasons. Not only does Tapu Lele break through Poison-types like Toxapex and Mega Venusaur with ease, it also summons Psychic Terrain, which protects Pheromosa from priority moves like Shadow Sneak from Mimikyu and Ice Shard from Mamoswine. Tape Lele is also capable of weakening physically defensive foes that Pheromosa could struggle to break past, depending on its moveset. Dark-types generally aid Pheromosa thanks to their ability to deal with Ghost-types. Tyranitar provides Stealth Rock support, removes or weakens Ghost-types with Pursuit, checks Mega Salamence and both Mega Charizard formes, and, if running an offensive set, benefits from Pheromosa's ability to threaten traditional physical walls like Landorus-T and Porygon2. The rare Hydreigon can threaten Ghost-types while also providing Pheromosa a safe switch-in with U-turn. If paired with Hydreigon, Pheromosa can run Poison Jab to effectively punish Fairy-types that massively threaten Hydreigon. Steel-types provide Pheromosa with a safe switch-in for Fairy- and Flying-types, depending on their own typing. Celesteela blanket checks all Fairy-types with the exception of Tapu Koko and offensive Tapu Fini, both of which Pheromosa can lure in and punish with Drill Run and Poison Jab. Ferrothorn provides Stealth Rock support to ensure Flying-types that attempt to switch into High Jump Kick or U-turn are punished and proves to be a more reliable check to Fairy-types than Celesteela . Heatran can also set Stealth Rock, lure in Tapu Fini and eliminate it with Bloom Doom, and check Aegislash.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Focus Blast is this set's main STAB move that does massive damage to foes, particularly the ones that can handle physically oriented variants of Pheromosa. While Focus Blast's accuracy is unreliable, with Fightinium Z it turns into a perfectly accurate attack that OHKOes Celesteela and Tapu Koko after some prior damage, even when unboosted. Ice Beam hits Flying-types that resist Focus Blast like Mega Salamence and Gliscor. It is also capable of 2HKOing most Tapu Bulu variants after Stealth Rock damage with investment in Special Attack. The third move allows Pheromosa to capitalize on the switches it forces in different ways. Quiver Dance boosts Pheromosa's already good damage output to the point where All-Out Pummeling's power reaches lethal levels, and it also lets Pheromosa outspeed all Choice Scarf users, making it significantly more difficult to revenge kill without a priority move. U-turn, on the other hand, is still a justifiable move due to the momentum Pheromosa can provide its team with on forced switches. Bug Buzz is a secondary STAB move that can 2HKO Mega Venusaur and specially defensive Mega Sableye after a boost, which Ice Beam fails to do. Alternatively, Hidden Power Ghost OHKOes both Mega Gengar and Mimikyu without Disguise after Stealth Rock damage and a Quiver Dance boost. Hidden Power Ground, on the other hand, 2HKOes Toxapex at +1. Shock Wave has a chance to OHKO Gyarados, which is otherwise a good check to this set, while still hitting Toxapex as hard as Hidden Power Ground would. Shock Wave also OHKOes Mega Charizard Y after Stealth Rock damage.

Set Details
========

The given EV spread is ideal for maximizing Pheromosa's damage output and Speed. A Modest nature allows Pheromosa to hit as hard as possible while gaining a Special Attack boost every time it KOes a foe, while a Timid nature allows unboosted Pheromosa to outspeed some setup sweepers that are at +1 and some Choice Scarf users like Tapu Lele and Landorus-T. Fightinium Z turns Focus Blast into All-Out Pummeling, which is very hard to handle, especially when Pheromosa has accumulated boosts, and is perfectly accurate. Buginium Z lets Pheromosa use Savage Spin-Out to OHKO Tapu Lele, Mega Metagross, and Cresselia, which are offensive or defensive checks to Pheromosa. Life Orb, on the other hand, improves Pheromosa's general damage output and lets +1 Pheromosa OHKO Mega Gengar with Hidden Power Ground or Hidden Power Ghost and have a chance to OHKO Tapu Koko and Mega Charizard Y with Focus Blast and Shock Wave after Stealth Rock, respectively.

Usage Tips
========

Pheromosa aims to gain an opportunity to sweep by netting a surprise KO on a foe that expects a different set and gaining a boost from Beast Boost or by setting up with Quiver Dance on a forced switch. If Pheromosa opts for U-turn over Quiver Dance, it can bluff another set by acting as a pivot early-game. Otherwise, Pheromosa can proceed to set up Quiver Dance on a foe it naturally threatens and overwhelm the switch-in with coverage moves or a boosted All-Out Pummeling. However, as this set may lack a coverage move to hit Ghost-types or other foes like Toxapex, they must be weakened or removed beforehand. Mimikyu in particular is problematic, as it can't be OHKOed by any move with full HP and has Disguise to even take on boosted Pheromosa. Entry hazards aid Pheromosa with bypassing Focus Sash users and wearing down checks like Mega Charizard Y, Gyarados, and Volcarona.

Team Options
========

Pheromosa mostly needs teammates that can take on Ghost-, Fairy-, and Poison-types and reliably set entry hazards. This means that durable Steel-types that can switch into Fairy-types, set Stealth Rock, or do both, such as Ferrothorn, Heatran, and Celesteela, are good partners to this set. Tapu Lele protects Pheromosa from priority moves by summoning Psychic Terrain and blasts through Toxapex, which is very problematic for sets lacking Hidden Power Ground. Dark-types can combat Ghost-types that Pheromosa may struggle to defeat when lacking Hidden Power Ghost. Tyranitar is a good teammate that can weaken or remove Ghost-types for Pheromosa in advance with Pursuit. Should Pheromosa need a safe condition that guarantees a turn to set up, dedicated leads like Alolan Ninetales, Tapu Koko, and Hippowdon that can set dual screens or Aurora Veil and use Memento or Yawn are feasible options.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

High Jump Kick's chance of missing and crash damage may make Low Kick seem like a reasonable substitute, but its inconsistent Base Power can prove to be quite detrimental against certain foes. Pheromosa generally has a hard time fitting any other moves other than the ones that are already listed. Lunge weakens a switch-in, and unlike U-turn, it aids Pheromosa better in an event when it can sweep without forcing Pheromosa out, but it is generally not worth forgoing Pheromosa's ability to pivot . Taunt might seem useful especially when Pheromosa is used as a lead, but Pheromosa it already forces out the majority of entry hazard setters, and its lack of bulk prevents it from effectively preventing the use of status moves even against the likes of Hippowdon, which 2HKOes Pheromosa with Earthquake and sandstorm damage. Protect prevents Mega Kangaskhan and Mega Lopunny from chunking away at Pheromosa's health with Fake Out and breaking its Focus Sash, but it has little use outside of this. Lastly, Groundium Z in tandem with Drill Run can be used to reliably 2HKO Aegislash and Toxapex as well as easing predictions against the former's King's Shield, but forgoing the consistent boost in power from Life Orb isn't ideal.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Ghost-types**: Ghost-types such as Mimikyu, Aegislash, and Mega Gengar force Pheromosa into predictions by discouraging the use of High Jump Kick. Ghost-types also resist U-turn, meaning there isn't a significant risk involved when they switch into Pheromosa. Aegislash hopelessly shuts down any Pheromosa lacking Drill Run, and offensive variants can take advantage of the move to activate Weakness Policy and OHKO Pheromosa next turn with +2 Shadow Sneak after it has switched into Stealth Rock or has taken recoil damage from Life Orb. Mimikyu would generally avoid switching into Pheromosa in order to preserve Disguise unless desperately needed, but it is guaranteed to win in a one-on-one scenario thanks to its ability.

**Poison-types**: Toxapex and Mega Venusaur can take on Pheromosa thanks to their typing. However, the former is 2HKOed by Drill Run after Stealth Rock damage, and Life Orb-boosted U-turn from Naughty Pheromosa does upwards of 36% damage to the latter.

**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types resist both of Pheromosa's STAB moves. Therefore, Tapu Fini, Primarina, and Assault Vest Tapu Bulu can switch in and either force out or KO Pheromosa. However, it is important to note that Poison Jab can OHKO or 2HKO all of them, and some variants of Tapu Bulu may be 2HKOed by Life Orb-boosted Ice Beam after Stealth Rock, depending on Tapu Bulu's investment. After Intimidate, Mega Mawile narrowly avoids a 2HKO from High Jump Kick from Pheromosa lacking Life Orb and can easily OHKO it in return.

**Priority Moves**: Pheromosa's horrendous bulk leaves it susceptible to priority moves like Fake Out, Bullet Punch, Sucker Punch, and Ice Shard from various foes like Mega Kangaskhan, Mega Mawile, Mamoswine, and Mamoswine, especially if it continues to take damage from Life Orb recoil or switching into entry hazards.

**Choice Scarf Users**: Certain Choice Scarf users, such as Garchomp and Timid Tapu Lele, can outspeed and OHKO Pheromosa before it is able to pivot out with U-turn or KO them first.

I don't think scarf is common enough, or frankly good enough, to justify inclusion. As much I do love bulky scarf phero. So I'd remove that one.
Also, move the 4 Def EVs into SpA, may aswell increase Ice Beam damage, even if only by a little.

The nature can be chosen depending on what Pheromosa has to accomplish; Naughty nature allows Pheromosa to meet many important benchmarks, such as being able OHKO Porygon2 and 2HKO Hippowdon and Celesteela with High Jump Kick.
The ohko on physdef p2, the most common varient, is sort of iffy so I'm not sure about mentioning that
252+ Atk Life Orb Pheromosa High Jump Kick vs. 244 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Porygon2: 172-203 (90 - 106.2%) -- 25% chance to OHKO
Don't forget to mention that this is life orb, since there are item slashes. And if you want to vary up examples, you can use Skarmory too, since that's also 2HKOed by LO HJK.
and essentially every other Choice Scarf users in the metagame when Pheromosa is equipped with Choice Scarf.
[...]
While Choice Scarf may seem like an odd item for a Pokémon with already stellar Speed, it ensures that Pheromosa won't be disposed of other Choice Scarf users like Garchomp in vain.
With the removal of the item slash, this would go too. There's a mention in Usage Tips too.
Beast Boost boosts Phermosa's highest stat upon KOing a foe.
You've already mentioned Naughty natured set giving the Attack boost, so instead of mentioning BB in a general sense here, you could mention at the end of the Naive sub-section that it will boost speed. Or remove the Attack boost mention from the Naughty section and keep this one. Either or. Just don't need to mention BB twice.

Team Options
is resistant or immune to every type of an attack Pheromosa is weak to
Phero is sort of weak to everything it doesn't resist, and even then. So mentioning defensive type based synergy isn't too important. Heatran does however remain a decent partner.

Everything after this point looks fine.

Due to its reliance on Bug- and Fighting-type STAB moves to do effectively dish out damage, Pheromosa suffers from prevalence of Ghost-types, such as Aegislash, Mega Gengar, and the worst nightmare, Mimikyu, all of which not only discourage Pheromosa's strongest option of STAB move in High Jump Kick, but also can effectively wall or defeat it depending on what Pheromosa opts for on its already crowded space for coverage options. Despite these drawbacks, with right predictions and teammates, Pheromosa can effectively function as a threat that causes a problem to nearly every archetype of trios Battle Spot Singles has to offer.

You might want to make a note that Pheromosa is a pretty good mixed attacker, and can be a surprise special attacker as well.

Moves
========

High Jump Kick, with Naughty nature and a boost from Life Orb, turns into a very powerful STAB move that inflicts serious damage on any neutral foes. It is capable of scoring 2HKOes on some of the physically bulkiest foes, such as Celesteela, Hippowdon, and Mega Scizor. U-turn allows Pheromosa to pivot out on forced switches or against unfavorable foes, letting it do a decent damage while securing momentum. Ice Beam hits very common threats such as Landorus-T, Mega Salamence, Naganadel, and Garchomp, all of which can either comfortably handle Pheromosa's STAB moves or survive a hit and KO back, by OHKOing them all. The last moveslot is flexible and be chosen accordingly to Pheromosa's teammates. Drill Run OHKOes Mega Gengar and has a chance to 2HKO defensive Aegislash and Toxapex. Poison Jab hits Fairy-types, notably letting Pheromosa 2HKO Tapu Fini which it otherwise cannot with any other moves and quickly dispose of Tapu Lele, Assault Vest Tapu Bulu, and Primarina.

Set Details
========

The given EV spread maximizes Pheromosa's general damage output by letting it hit foes as hard as possible with physical moves. The nature can be chosen depending on what Pheromosa has to accomplish; Naughty nature allows Pheromosa to meet many important benchmarks, such as being able to 2HKO Hippowdon, Celesteela, and Skarmory with High Jump Kick. Naughty nature also boosts Pheromosa's Attack with Beast Boost every time it KOes a foe. Naive nature, on the other hand, forgoes damage output in exchange of Pheromosa's ability to outspeed neutral-natured Choice Scarf variants of Landorus-T and Tapu Lele, Mega Gyarados at +1 I'd personally say speed boosted or something, since Mega Gyarados can't have a Choice Scarf :P . Life Orb turns boosts Pheromosa's general damage output beyond serviceable levels by turning many 3HKOes into 2HKOes at a cost of recoil damage, which isn't too detrimental when accounting on Pheromosa's frailty. Focus Sash prevents Pheromosa from getting KOed in one hit, meaning if the item is properly preserved, it can let Pheromosa revenge kill dangerous threats like boosted Mega Salamence in a pinch.

I sorta want to ask other QC members about this first, but I think Groundium Z is worth mentioning just because it can mess with Aegislash harder than any other item.

Usage Tips
========

Due to the number of foes it can threaten, Pheromosa makes an effective lead that can force switches and grab momentum for its team. If not, Pheromosa shouldn't be brought into any attacks but through pivoting from a different teammate, double switch, or switching in after a teammate faints. If given a chance to freely attack, Pheromosa should make serious dents on foes with appropriate moves. However, this will involve prediction, especially when using High Jump Kick. Unless Ghost-type foes are absent, it is rather safer to use U-turn early in order to analyze how an opponent responds to Pheromosa and avoid retaliation from Focus Sash users. If equipped with Focus Sash or Choice Scarf, Phermomosa can be used in a straightforward way to revenge kill a foe by utilizing an ability to survive any attack from full health or outspeed a boosted foe. When using High Jump Kick, be wary of foes that may carry Protect, such as Celesteela and Ferrothorn.

I'd remove the Choice Scarf mention since that's going into other options now. I'd also mention against Pokemon that don't usually stay in on Pheromosa, you might want to target incoming Ghost-types later in the game when you know what your foe has chosen.

Team Options

Although Pheromosa requires relatively less support from its team to successfully perform its role, some Pokemon are notable for providing invaluable support when paired with Pheromosa. Tapu Lele is one of the best teammates to Pheromosa for a number of reasons. The rare Hydreigon can take advantage of its excellent movepool to lure various that check Pheromosa and punish them with appropriate coverage moves while providing Pheromosa a safe switch-in with U-turn. If paired with Hydreigon, Pheromosa can run Poison Jab to effectively lure and punish Fairy-types which massively threaten Hydreigon. Steel-types provide Pheromosa a safe switch-in for Fairy-types and Flying-types, depending on their own typing. Celesteela blanket checks all Fairy-types with an exception of Tapu Koko and offensive Tapu Fini, both of which Pheromosa can lure and punish with Drill Run and Poison Jab, respectively. Ferrothorn provides Stealth Rock support to ensure Flying-types that attempt to switch into High Jump Kick or U-turn are punished and proves to be a more reliable check to Fairy-types. Heatran can also sets Stealth Rock, can lure and eliminate Tapu Fini with Bloom Doom, and check Aegislash.

Protect prevents Mega Kangaskhan and Mega Lopunny from chunking away at Pheromosa's health with Fake Out and breaking Focus Sash, but this has little use outside of this. A set using Quiver Dance, Focus Blast, Bug Buzz, and Ice Beam may sound appealing due to the set's ability to boost Pheromosa and break past physically defensive walls, but Pheromosa has to rely on unreliable Focus Blast, which can only be alleviated with the use of Fightinium Z, and has a hard time finding setup opportunities in the first place without relying on Focus Sash. The set also lacks the initial power and has little way to deal with Fairy-types and Aegislash and leads to a questionable concern about an opportunity cost of forgoing Pheromosa's ability to pivot, making hard for a set to justify its use.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Ghost-types**: Ghost-types such as Mimikyu, Aegislash, and Mega Gengar force Pheromosa into predictions by discouraging the use of High Jump Kick. Ghost-types also resist U-turn, meaning there isn't a significant risk involved when they are switching into Pheromosa. Aegislash hopelessly shuts down any Pheromosa lacking Drill Run, and offensive variants can rather take advantage of the move to activate Weakness Policy and OHKO next turn with +2 Shadow Sneak after Pheromosa has switched into Stealth Rock or took recoil damage from Life Orb. **Poison-types**: Toxapex and Mega Venusaur can take on Pheromosa thanks to their typing. However, the former is 2HKOed by Drill Run after Stealth Rock damage, and Life Orb-boosted U-turn from Naughty Pheromosa does upwards 36% damage to the latter.

**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types resist both STAB moves from Pheromosa as well. Therefore, Tapu Fini, Primarina, Assault Vest Tapu Bulu, can switch in and either force out or proceed to KO Pheromosa, and Tapu Bulu cannot However, it is important to note that Poison Jab can OHKO or 2HKO all of them and some variants of Tapu Bulu may be 2HKOed by Life Orb-boosted Ice Beam after Stealth Rock, depending on its investment. Mega Mawile narrowly avoids 2HKO from High Jump Kick from Pheromosa lacking Life Orb after Intimidate and can easily OHKO in return.

**Choice Scarf Users**: Certain Choice Scarf users such as Timid Tapu Lele and Garchomp can outspeed and OHKO Pheromosa before it is able to pivot out with U-turn or KO them first.
I think most of what you wrote is fine now that jhon checked it, but I have one big gripe: I think the Special Attacking set should probably stay as a set rather than be put into Other Options. That set has had significant usage for a while (about 20% of Pheromosa this season alone actually use a Modest nature). I'd probably make the set something like this:

[SET]
name: Special Attacker
move 1: Focus Blast
move 2: Ice Beam
move 3: Quiver Dance / U-turn
move 4: Bug Buzz / Hidden Power Ghost / Hidden Power Ground / Electroweb
item: Fightingium Z / Life Orb

You might want to make a note that Pheromosa is a pretty good mixed attacker, and can be a surprise special attacker as well.
Thanks to these traits, Pheromosa can run variety of sets, such as mixed attacker and special attacker, both of which are threatening at their own right.
I'd personally say speed boosted or something, since Mega Gyarados can't have a Choice Scarf :P
Naive nature, on the other hand, forgoes damage output in exchange of Pheromosa's ability to outspeed neutral-natured Choice Scarf variants of Landorus-T and Tapu Lele, and Mega Gyarados with a Dragon Dance boost.
I'd remove the Choice Scarf mention since that's going into other options now. I'd also mention against Pokemon that don't usually stay in on Pheromosa, you might want to target incoming Ghost-types later in the game when you know what your foe has chosen.
Predicting Ghost-types switching in is a promising idea especially if Pheromosa is sure to force out a foe, as an appropriate prediction against the likes of Aegislash and Mega Gengar will make them easier to take down later.
Choice Scarf mention was also removed - I think I missed it while implementing Jhon's thing :/
I sorta want to ask other QC members about this first, but I think Groundium Z is worth mentioning just because it can mess with Aegislash harder than any other item.
Lastly, Groudium Z in tandem with Drill Run can be used to reliably 2HKO Aegislash and Toxapex as well as easing predictions against the former's King's Shield, but forgoing consistent boost in power from Life Orb isn't too ideal.
This was added to OO.

Quiver Dance set was added.

I'm not QC, but I think it is worth mentioning that Mega Manetric and Lopunny will outspeed Pheromosa if not running max speed. As someone who uses Pheromosa I think Buginium Z also deserves a mention. I'm not QC, but I think it is worth mentioning that Mega Manetric and Lopunny will outspeed Pheromosa if not running max speed. Thanks for the catch. Mentions about getting outsped by Mega Lopunny and Mega Manectric is important indeed, as getting outsped for Pheromosa essentially means KO. I also agree that Buginium Z can be used for the reasons you have mentioned and it can probably slashed for the useful benchmarks. If QC says otherwise I will talk about at least putting it into Other Options.

[OVERVIEW]

Pheromosa possesses excellent traits as an offensive threat in Battle Spot Singles. Its high offensive stats, nearly unparalleled Speed tier, and a decent movepool lets it pose a threat to almost the entire metagame. Pheromosa can also run variety of sets, such as mixed attacker and special attacker, both of which are threatening at their own right. In addition, Beast Boost amplifies Pheromosa's offensive presence, as(AC) with the right nature, it will progressively become harder to defensively handle due to Beast Boost. While the aforementioned strengths aren't the cream of the crop, Pheromosa's access to U-turn allows it to effectively pivot out of unfavorable matchups, which not many few offensive threats can do. However, these excellent capabilities as an offensive threat come with some notable shortcomings. Due to its reliance on Bug- and Fighting-type STAB moves to do effectively dish out damage, Pheromosa suffers from prevalence of Ghost-types, such as Aegislash, Mega Gengar, and the worst nightmare, Mimikyu, all of which not only discourage Pheromosa's strongest option of STAB move(AC) in High Jump Kick, but also can effectively wall or defeat it(AC) depending on what Pheromosa opts for on its already crowded space for coverage options. Pheromosa's horrid bulk should also be noted, as essentially any neutral hits from an offensive foe will likely KO it and some priority moves can pick off Pheromosa with some prior damage. This means if Pheromosa is reliant on predictions and KOing a foe; if it fails to accomplish either of them, it will not likely be given a second chance. Despite these drawbacks, with right predictions and teammates, Pheromosa can effectively function as a threat that causes a problem to nearly every archetype of trios Battle Spot Singles has to offer.

Moves
========

High Jump Kick, with a Naughty nature and a boost from Life Orb, turns into a very powerful STAB move that inflicts serious damage on any neutral nonresistant foes. Ice Beam hits OHKOes very common threats such as Landorus-T, Mega Salamence, Naganadel, and Garchomp, all of which can either comfortably handle Pheromosa's STAB moves or survive a hit and KO back (wouldn’t surviving a hit refer to surviving a STAB attack? Maybe say “can comfortably handle Pheromosa’s other attacks”), by OHKOing them all. The last moveslot is flexible and be chosen accordingly to Pheromosa's teammates. Drill Run OHKOes Mega Gengar and has a chance to 2HKO defensive Aegislash and Toxapex. Poison Jab hits Fairy-types, notably letting Pheromosa 2HKO Tapu Fini(AC) which it otherwise cannot 2HKO(AC) with any other moves and quickly dispose of Tapu Lele, Assault Vest Tapu Bulu, and Primarina.

Set Details
========

Naive nature, on the other hand, forgoes damage output in exchange of for Pheromosa's ability to outspeed neutral-natured Choice Scarf variants of Landorus-T and Tapu Lele, +1 Mega Gyarados, Mega Lopunny, and Mega Manectric after a Beast Boost. Life Orb turns boosts Pheromosa's general damage output beyond serviceable levels by turning many 3HKOes into 2HKOes at a cost of recoil damage, which isn't too detrimental when accounting on Pheromosa's frailty. Focus Sash prevents Pheromosa from getting OHKOed in one hit(RC)(semicolon) meaning if the item is properly preserved, it can let Pheromosa revenge kill dangerous threats like boosted Mega Salamence in a pinch.

Usage Tips
========

Due to the number of foes it can threaten, Pheromosa makes an effective lead that can force switches and grab momentum for its team. If not, Pheromosa shouldn't be brought into any attacks but through pivoting from a different teammate, double switching, or switching in after a teammate faints. Predicting Ghost-types switching in is a promising idea(AC) especially if Pheromosa is sure to force out a foe, as an appropriate prediction against the likes of Aegislash and Mega Gengar will make them easier to take down later. If equipped with Focus Sash(there was an extra space here), Pheromosa can be used in a straightforward way to revenge kill a foe by utilizing an ability to survive any attack from full health. When using High Jump Kick, be wary of foes that may carry Protect, such as Celesteela and Ferrothorn.

Team Options
========

Although Pheromosa requires relatively less support from its team to successfully perform its role, some Pokemon are notable for providing invaluable support when paired with Pheromosa. Tapu Lele is one of the best teammates to Pheromosa for a number of reasons. Not only does Tapu Lele break through Poison-types like Toxapex and Mega Venusaur with ease, but also it also summons Psychic Terrain(AC) which that protects Pheromosa from priority moves. Tape Lele is also capable of weakening physically defensive foes and Tapu Fini (I’d re-order Fini and defensive foes to clarify the next part a little better), with which Pheromosa could would struggle breaking past(AC) depending on its moveset. Dark-types generally aid Pheromosa thanks to their ability to deal with Ghost-types. Tyranitar provides Stealth Rock support, removes or weakens Ghost-types with Pursuit, checks Mega Salamence and both Mega Charizard formes, and, if running an offensive variant, benefits from Pheromosa's ability to threaten traditional physical walls like Landorus-T and Porygon2. The rare Hydreigon can take advantage of its excellent movepool to lure in various Pokemon that check Pheromosa and punish them with appropriate coverage moves(AC) while providing Pheromosa a safe switch(RH)in with U-turn. If paired with Hydreigon, Pheromosa can run Poison Jab to effectively lure in and punish Fairy-types which massively threaten Hydreigon. Steel-types provide Pheromosa a safe switch-in for Fairy-types and Flying-types, depending on their own typing. Celesteela blanket checks all Fairy-types with an exception of Tapu Koko and offensive Tapu Fini, both of which Pheromosa can lure in and punish with Drill Run and Poison Jab, respectively. Ferrothorn provides Stealth Rock support to ensure Flying-types that attempt to switch into High Jump Kick or U-turn are punished and proves to be a more reliable check to Fairy-types. Heatran can also sets Stealth Rock, can lure in and eliminate Tapu Fini with Bloom Doom, and check Aegislash.

Moves
========

Focus Blast is the main STAB move that can do massive damage to foes, particularly the ones that can handle physically oriented variants of Pheromosa. Its accuracy is unreliable, but with Fightinium Z, it turns into a perfectly accurate Fighting-type STAB attack that features OHKOes on Celesteela and Tapu Koko after some prior damage, even when unboosted. Ice Beam hits Flying-types like Mega Salamence, Gliscor, and others that resist Focus Blast. Thanks to investment in Special Attack, Ice Beam is capable of 2HKOing most majority of Tapu Bulu variants after Stealth Rock damage. The third move allows Pheromosa to capitalize on the switch it forces in different ways. Quiver Dance boosts Pheromosa's already good damage output to the point where All-Out(RH) Pummeling's power reaches lethal levels and lets Pheromosa outspeed all Choice Scarf users, making it significantly more difficult to revenge kill without a priority move. Hidden Power Ghost(RC) at +1(RC) OHKOes Mega Gengar and Mimikyu without Disguise after Stealth Rock (does it KO M-Gengar, Mimikyu, or both after rocks? If just Mimikyu, I’d recommend swapping the order; if both, I’d add “both” between OHKOes and Mega Gengar). Hidden Power Ground, on the other hand, 2HKOes Toxapex at +1. Shock Wave has a chance to OHKO Gyarados, which otherwise is a good check to this set while achieving the same benchmark on Toxapex as Hidden Power Ground. It also OHKOes Mega Charizard Y after Stealth Rock.

Set Details
========

The given EV spread is the most ideal for maximizing Pheromosa's damage output and Speed. A Modest nature allows Pheromosa to hit as hard as possible while gaining a Special Attack boost every time it KOes a foe, while a Timid nature allows unboosted (I assume) Pheromosa to outspeed some setup sweepers that are at +1 and some Choice Scarf users. Fighitnium Fightinium Z turns Focus Blast into All-Out(RH)Pummeling, which is very hard to handle(AC) especially when Pheromosa is boosted, and is perfectly accurate. Buginium Z lets Pheromosa OHKO Tapu Lele, Mega Metagross, and Cresselia, which are either offensive or defensive checks to Pheromosa, with Savage Spin-Outout. Life Orb, on the other hand, improves Pheromosa's general damage output and lets it, at +1, OHKO Mega Gengar with Hidden Power Ground or Hidden Power Ghost and have a chance to OHKO Tapu Koko and Mega Charizard Y with Focus Blast and Shock Wave, respectively.

Usage Tips
========

Unlike the other set, this set aims to gain an opportunity to sweep by netting a surprise KO on a foe that expects a different set and gaining a boost from Beast Boost, or setting Quiver Dance on a forced switch. If Pheromosa opted for U-turn over Quiver Dance, it can potentially bluff another set early game by acting as a pivot early(AH)game. Otherwise, Pheromosa can proceed to set up Quiver Dance on a foe it naturally threatens and overwhelm the switch-in with coverage moves or a boosted All-Out(RH) Pummeling. However, as this set may lack a coverage move to hit Ghost-types or other foes like Toxapex, they which must be weakened or removed beforehand. Mimikyu in particular is problematic, as it can't be OHKOed by any move from full HP, and has Disguise to take on even boosted Pheromosa. Setting entry hazards aid Pheromosa with bypassing Focus Sash users and wearing down checks like Mega Charizard Y, Gyarados, and Volcarona.

Team Options
========

Good teammates for this variant of Pheromosa are very similar to the other sets', as Pheromosa mostly needs teammates that can take on Ghost-(AC) Fairy-(AC) and Poison-types(RC) checks to Fairy-types(RC) and a reliable reliably set entry hazards setter. This means that durable Steel-types that can switch into Fairy-types, set Stealth Rock, or do both are good partners to this set. Tapu Lele protects Pheromosa from priority moves by summoning Psychic Terrain, and blasts through Toxapex, which is very problematic for this sets lacking Hidden Power Ground. Dark-types can combat Ghost-types that Pheromosa may struggle to defeat when lacking Hidden Power Ghost, and Tyranitar can weaken or remove them in advance with Pursuit. Should Pheromosa need a safe condition that guarantees a turn to set up, dedicated leads that can set dual screens or Auorora Aurora Veil and use Memento or Yawn are feasible options to aid Pheromosa's sweep.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=============

High Jump Kick's chance of missing and crash damage may make Low Kick seem like seemingly a considerable substitution, but its inconsistent base power can prove to be quite detrimental against certain foes. Pheromosa generally has a hard time fitting any other moves listed other than the ones that are already listed. Lunge weakens a switch-in and unlike U-turn, it aids Pheromosa better in an event when it can make a sweep of its own, but it is generally not worth forgoing Pheromosa's ability of pivoting. Taunt might seem useful especially when Pheromosa is used as a lead, but Pheromosa already forces out the majority of hazard setters(AC) and its lack of bulk prevents it from effectively preventing the use of status moves even against the likes of Hippowdon, which 2HKOes Pheromosa with Earthquake and sandstorm damage. Protect prevents Mega Kangaskhan and Mega Lopunny from chunking away at Pheromosa's health with Fake Out and breaking Focus Sash, but it this has little use outside of this. Lastly, Groudium Groundium Z in tandem with Drill Run can be used to reliably 2HKO Aegislash and Toxapex as well as easing predictions against the former's King's Shield, but forgoing consistent boost in power from Life Orb isn't too ideal.

Checks and Counters
===================

Mimikyu would generally avoid switching into Pheromosa in order to preserve Disguise unless desperately needed, and it is guaranteed to win in one on one scenario thanks to said ability.

Therefore, Tapu Fini, Primarina, Assault Vest Tapu Bulu, can switch in and either force out or proceed to KO Pheromosa, and Tapu Bulu cannot(Add period) However, it is important to note that Poison Jab can OHKO or 2HKO all of them(AC) and some variants of Tapu Bulu may be 2HKOed by Life Orb-boosted Ice Beam after Stealth Rock, depending on its investment. After Intimidate(AC) Mega Mawile narrowly avoids a 2HKO from High Jump Kick from Pheromosa lacking Life Orb after Intimidate(AC) and can easily OHKO in return.

**Priority Moves**: Pheromosa's horrendous bulk leaves it prone to priority moves like Fake Out, Bullet Punch, Sucker Punch, Ice Shard, or and Extreme Speed from various foes, especially if it continues to take damage from Life Orb recoil or switching into entry hazards.

**Choice Scarf Users**: Certain Choice Scarf users(AC) such as Timid Tapu Lele and Garchomp(AC) can outspeed and OHKO Pheromosa before it is able to pivot out with U-turn or KO them first.

However, as this set may lack a coverage move to hit Ghost-types or other foes like Toxapex, they must be weakened or removed beforehand. Mimikyu in particular is problematic, as it can't be OHKOed by any move from with full HP, and has Disguise to even take on even boosted Pheromosa. Setting entry hazards aid Pheromosa with bypassing Focus Sash users and wearing down checks like Mega Charizard Y, Gyarados, and Volcarona.

Team Options
========

Good teammates for this variant of Pheromosa is are very similar to the other set sets', as Pheromosa mostly needs teammates that can take on Ghost-, Fairy-, and Poison-types and reliably set entry hazards. This means that durable Steel-types that can switch into Fairy-types, set Stealth Rock, or do both are good partners to this set. Tapu Lele protects Pheromosa from priority moves by summoning Psychic Terrain,(RC) and blasts through Toxapex, which is very problematic for sets lacking Hidden Power Ground. Dark-types can combat Ghost-types that Pheromosa may struggle to defeat when lacking Hidden Power Ghost.(AP) , and Tyranitar is a good teammate that can weaken or remove Ghost-types for Pheromosa them in advance with Pursuit. Should Pheromosa need a safe condition you should use a better phrase than "safe condition" here since it's not that clear what this means - maybe something like "need additional support to set up" that guarantees a turn to set up, dedicated leads that can set dual screens or Aurora Veil and use Memento or Yawn are feasible options to aid Pheromosa's sweep.

Other Options
=============

High Jump Kick's chance of missing and crash damage may make Low Kick seem like a reasonable substitute considerable substitution, but its inconsistent Base Power can prove to be quite detrimental against certain foes. Pheromosa generally has a hard time fitting any other moves listed other than the ones that are already listed. Lunge weakens a switch-in and unlike U-turn, it aids Pheromosa better in an event when it can make a sweep of its own, but it is generally not worth forgoing Pheromosa's ability to pivot of pivoting. Taunt might seem useful especially when Pheromosa is used as a lead, but Pheromosa already forces out the majority of hazard setters, and its lack of bulk prevents it from effectively preventing the use of status moves even against the likes of Hippowdon, which 2HKOes Pheromosa with Earthquake and sandstorm damage. Protect prevents Mega Kangaskhan and Mega Lopunny from chunking away at Pheromosa's health with Fake Out and breaking Focus Sash, but it has little use outside of this. Lastly, Groundium Z in tandem with Drill Run can be used to reliably 2HKO Aegislash and Toxapex as well as easing predictions against the former's King's Shield, but forgoing the consistent boost in power from Life Orb isn't ideal.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Ghost-types**: Ghost-types such as Mimikyu, Aegislash, and Mega Gengar force Pheromosa into predictions by discouraging the use of High Jump Kick. Ghost-types also resist U-turn, meaning there isn't a significant risk involved when they are switching switch into Pheromosa. Aegislash hopelessly shuts down any Pheromosa lacking Drill Run, and offensive variants can rather take advantage of the move to activate Weakness Policy and OHKO Pheromosa next turn with +2 Shadow Sneak after Pheromosa has switched into Stealth Rock or has taken recoil damage from Life Orb. Mimikyu would generally avoid switching into Pheromosa in order to preserve Disguise unless desperately needed, but it is guaranteed to win in a one-(AH)on-(AH)one scenario thanks to its ability.

**Poison-types**: Toxapex and Mega Venusaur can take on Pheromosa thanks to their typing. However, the former is 2HKOed by Drill Run after Stealth Rock damage, and Life Orb-boosted U-turn from Naughty nature Pheromosa does upwards of 36% damage to the latter.

**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types resist both STAB moves from Pheromosa as well. Therefore, Tapu Fini, Primarina, and Assault Vest Tapu Bulu,(RC) can switch in and either force out or KO Pheromosa. However, it is important to note that Poison Jab can OHKO or 2HKO all of them, and some variants of Tapu Bulu may be 2HKOed by Life Orb-boosted Ice Beam after Stealth Rock, depending on the investment. whose investment? Pheromosa's or bulu's? After Intimidate, Mega Mawile narrowly avoids a 2HKO from High Jump Kick from Pheromosa lacking Life Orb and can easily OHKO it in return.

**Priority Moves**: Pheromosa's horrendous bulk leaves it prone to priority moves like Fake Out, Bullet Punch, Sucker Punch, Ice Shard, and Extreme Speed from various foes, especially if it continues to take damage from Life Orb recoil or switching into entry hazards.

**Choice Scarf Users**: Certain Choice Scarf users, such as Timid Tapu Lele and Garchomp, can outspeed and OHKO Pheromosa before it is able to pivot out with U-turn or KO them first.

[OVERVIEW]

Pheromosa possesses excellent traits as an offensive threat in Battle Spot Singles. Its high offensive stats, nearly unparalleled Speed tier, and decent movepool let it pose a threat to almost the entire metagame. Pheromosa can also run a variety of sets, such as mixed attacker and special attacker, both of which are threatening at in their own right. In addition, Beast Boost amplifies Pheromosa's offensive presence, as with the right nature, it will progressively become harder to defensively handle due to Beast Boost sentence uses circular logic so you should clear it up by explaining exactly what Beast Boost does, probably at the end of the sentence. (sure or just remove the last "due to Beast Boost" because it's already been mentioned int his sentence) While aforementioned strengths aren't the cream of the crop,(RC) fluff and doesn't really make sense anyways Pheromosa's access to U-turn allows it to effectively pivot out of unfavorable matchups, which few offensive threats can do. However, these excellent capabilities as an offensive threat come with some notable shortcomings. Due to (this is also fluff. general "however, x mon is not without its flaws" lines are) its reliance on Bug- and Fighting-type STAB moves to do effectively dish out damage, Pheromosa damage means Pheromosa suffers from the prevalence of Ghost-types,(RC) such as Aegislash, Mega Gengar, and the worst nightmare,(RC) Mimikyu, all of which not only discourage Pheromosa's strongest STAB move, High Jump Kick, but also can effectively wall or defeat it, depending on what move Pheromosa opts for on its already crowded space for coverage options. Pheromosa's horrid bulk should also be noted, as essentially any neutral hit hits from an offensive foe will likely KO it,(AC) and some priority moves can pick off Pheromosa with some prior damage. (like what?) This means Pheromosa is reliant on predictions and KOing being able to KO a foe; if it fails to accomplish either, it will not likely be given a second chance this sentence is pretty vague and not really to the point. i would recommend rewriting it. you don't really explain why phero is reliant on predictions and KOs imo. Despite these drawbacks, with the right predictions and teammates, Pheromosa can effectively function as a threat that causes a problem to nearly every team archetype of trios Battle Spot Singles has to offer. (more fluff./ conclusion sentences to overviews aren't needed)

Moves

High Jump Kick, with a Naughty nature and a boost from Life Orb, turns into is (without the bracketed clause you have "high jump kick turns in to a very powerful stab move" which doesn't make the most sense) a very powerful STAB move that inflicts serious damage on any non-(AH)resistant foe foes. It is capable of scoring 2HKOs on some of the physically bulkiest foes, such as Celesteela, Hippowdon, and Mega Scizor. U-turn allows Pheromosa to pivot out on forced switches and or against unfavorable foes in unfavorable matchups (preferred wording with pokemon because "unfavourable foe" isn't the most clear. also give examples of what it can pivot out of), letting it do decent damage while securing momentum. Ice Beam OHKOes very common threats such as Landorus-T, Mega Salamence, Naganadel, and Garchomp, all of which can either comfortably handle Pheromosa's other attacks. The last moveslot is flexible and can be chosen accordingly to Pheromosa's teammates will benefit from (explains team reliance a little better).

Set Details
========

Life Orb boosts Pheromosa's general damage output beyond serviceable levels by turning many 3HKOs into 2HKOs at the a cost of recoil damage, which isn't too detrimental when accounting for on Pheromosa's frailty. A Focus Sash prevents Pheromosa from getting OHKOed; if the item is properly preserved, it can let Pheromosa revenge kill dangerous threats like boosted Mega Salamence in a pinch.

Usage Tips
========

If given a chance to freely attack, Pheromosa should make serious dents on foes with appropriate moves. Use prediction to maximize Pheromosa's damage output, However, this will involve prediction, especially when using High Jump Kick. Unless Ghost-type foes are absent (change is fair but you remove the information about severely denting foes, which seems to be a big thing for pheromosa. if this info is relevant, add it back), it is rather safer to use U-turn early in order to analyze how an opponent responds to Pheromosa and avoid retaliation from Focus Sash users don't really understand what "avoid[ing] retaliation from Focus Sash users" means, might be best just to cut it imo. (means a focus sash mon living the hit and koing back but yeah it's not really new user friendly so reword it or cut it only if the info isn't necessary) Predicting Ghost-types switching in is a promising idea, especially if Pheromosa is sure to force out a foe, as an appropriate prediction against the likes of Aegislash and Mega Gengar will make them easier to take down later. If equipped with a Focus Sash, Pheromosa can be used in a straightforward way to revenge kill a foe by utilizing its item an ability to survive any attack from full health. When using High Jump Kick, be wary of foes that may carry Protect, such as Celesteela and Ferrothorn.

Team Options
========

Although Pheromosa requires relatively less minimal (less than what? there's nothing to make the comparison to) support from its team to successfully perform its role, some Pokemon are notable for providing invaluable support when paired with it Pheromosa. Tapu Lele is one of the best teammates to Pheromosa for a number of reasons. Not only does Tapu Lele break through Poison-types like Toxapex and Mega Venusaur with ease, it also summons Psychic Terrain, which protects Pheromosa from priority moves. (should clarify that they can ko phero and give examples) Tape Lele is also capable of weakening physically defensive foes,(RC) with which that Pheromosa could struggle to break breaking past, depending on its moveset. Dark-types generally aid Pheromosa thanks to their ability to deal with Ghost-types. Tyranitar provides Stealth Rock support, removes or weakens Ghost-types with Pursuit, checks Mega Salamence and both Mega Charizard formes, and, if running an offensive variant set, benefits from Pheromosa's ability to threaten traditional physical walls like Landorus-T and Porygon2. The rare Hydreigon can lure in various Pokemon that check Pheromosa and (such as?) take advantage of its excellent movepool to lure in various Pokemon that check Pheromosa and punish them with appropriate coverage moves,(RC) while also providing Pheromosa a safe switch-(AH)in with U-turn. If paired with Hydreigon, Pheromosa can run Poison Jab to effectively lure in and punish Fairy-types that which massively threaten Hydreigon. Steel-types provide Pheromosa a safe switch-in for Fairy-types and Flying-types, (Fairy- and Flying-type is preferred as way to list multiple types) depending on their own typing. Celesteela blanket checks all Fairy-types with an the exception of Tapu Koko and offensive Tapu Fini, both of which Pheromosa can lure in and punish with Drill Run and Poison Jab, respectively. (respectively doesn't work here when both fall to poison jab though, and it's best to remove unless it's needed to clarify something) Ferrothorn provides Stealth Rock support to ensure Flying-types that attempt to switch into High Jump Kick or U-turn are punished and proves to be a more reliable check to Fairy-types more reliable than what? Celesteela? if so I would add that to clarify. Heatran can also sets set Stealth Rock, lure in and eliminate Tapu Fini with Bloom Doom, and check Aegislash.

Moves

Focus Blast is the this set's (not needed because it implies set cross-referencing when not needed) main STAB move that can does massive damage to foes, particularly the ones that can handle physically oriented variants of Pheromosa. (what foes does this set beat that the other doesn't) While Focus Blast's Its accuracy is unreliable, but with Fightinium Z,(RC) it turns into a perfectly accurate Fighting-type STAB attack that OHKOes Celesteela and Tapu Koko after some prior damage, even when unboosted saying it "OHKOes Tapu Koko after some prior damage" sounds a little too vague to me because at that point, it doesn't OHKO and it's hard to know how much damage is "prior damage" I would probably reword your example to either exclude koko or make clearer to what extent it can take out koko. (prior damage is generally accepted in analyses. it's usually minimal like hazards and if it's too much the example isn't worth anyway) Ice Beam hits Flying-types that resist Focus Blast like Mega Salamence,(RC) and Gliscor, and others that resist Focus Blast. Thanks to investment in Special Attack,(RC) Ice Beam is also capable of 2HKOing most of Tapu Bulu variants after Stealth Rock damage with investment in Special Attack. The third move allows Pheromosa to capitalize on the switches it forces in different ways. Quiver Dance boosts Pheromosa's already good damage output to the point where All-Out Pummeling's power reaches lethal levels, (AC) and it also lets Pheromosa outspeed all Choice Scarf users, making it significantly more difficult to revenge kill without a priority move. Hidden Power Ghost at +1,(RC) OHKOes both Mega Gengar and Mimikyu without Disguise after Stealth Rock damage. Hidden Power Ground, on the other hand, 2HKOes Toxapex at +1. Shock Wave has a chance to OHKO Gyarados, which that is (which is fine here "gyarados, which is a good check to the set" works because you can remove the which clause with it still making sense) otherwise is a good check to this set while still hitting achieving the same benchmark on Toxapex as hard as Hidden Power Ground would. It Shock Wave also OHKOes Mega Charizard Y after Stealth Rock damage (stay consistent with previous changes).

Set Details
========

The given EV spread is the most ideal for maximizing Pheromosa's damage output and Speed. A Modest nature allows Pheromosa to hit as hard as possible while gaining a Special Attack boost every time it KOes a foe, while a Timid nature allows unboosted Pheromosa to outspeed some setup sweepers that are at +1 and some Choice Scarf users. (this point needs examples to go with it) Fightinium Z turns Focus Blast into All-Out Pummeling, which is very hard to handle, especially when Pheromosa has accumulated boosts is boosted, and is perfectly accurate. Buginium Z lets Pheromosa use Savage Spin-Out to OHKO Tapu Lele, Mega Metagross, and Cresselia, which are either offensive or defensive checks to Pheromosa, with Savage Spin-Out. Life Orb, on the other hand, improves Pheromosa's general damage output and lets +1 Pheromosa it,(RC) at +1,(RC) OHKO Mega Gengar with Hidden Power Ground or Hidden Power Ghost and have a chance to OHKO Tapu Koko and Mega Charizard Y with Focus Blast and Shock Wave, respectively. (is this after rocks or not? previous context makes me think it is so mention it)

Usage Tips
========

Unlike the other set, this set Pheromosa (unnecessary cross-referencing) aims to gain an opportunity to sweep by netting a surprise KO on a foe that expects a different set and gaining a boost from Beast Boost, (RC; second clause isn't independent so you can't use a comma before "pr" (same as the "and" rule)) or by setting up with Quiver Dance on a forced switch. If Pheromosa opts opted for U-turn over Quiver Dance, it can potentially bluff another set by acting as a pivot early-game. Mimikyu in particular is problematic, as it can't be OHKOed by any move from with full HP, (RC same as above) (from full HP is accepted and preferred) and has Disguise to even take on even boosted Pheromosa. Setting Entry hazards aid (or "setting entry hazards aims" because here setting is what aims refers to and is singular as opposed to hazards themselves) Pheromosa with bypassing Focus Sash users and wearing down checks like Mega Charizard Y, Gyarados, and Volcarona.

Team Options
========

(what pokemon can do that?) Tapu Lele protects Pheromosa from priority moves by summoning Psychic Terrain,(RC) and blasts through Toxapex, which is very problematic for sets lacking Hidden Power Ground. Dark-types can combat Ghost-types that Pheromosa may struggle to defeat when lacking Hidden Power Ghost.(AP) , and Tyranitar is a good teammate that can weaken or remove Ghost-types for Pheromosa them in advance with Pursuit. Should Pheromosa need a safe condition you should use a better phrase than "safe condition" here since it's not that clear what this means - maybe something like "need additional support to set up" (yeah remember the analysis audience is newer players so make it accessible to them) that guarantees a turn to set up, dedicated leads that can set dual screens or Aurora Veil and use Memento or Yawn are feasible options to aid Pheromosa's sweep. (what are these leads?)

Pheromosa generally has a hard time fitting any other moves listed other than the ones that are already listed. Lunge weakens a switch-in and unlike U-turn, it aids Pheromosa better in an event when it can make a sweep without forcing Pheromosa out of its own, but it is generally not worth forgoing Pheromosa's ability to pivot of pivoting. Taunt might seem useful especially when Pheromosa is used as a lead, but Pheromosa it (repetition + pheromosa has already been used in this sentence so "it" is fine) already forces out the majority of hazard setters, and its lack of bulk prevents it from effectively preventing the use of status moves even against the likes of Hippowdon, which 2HKOes Pheromosa with Earthquake and sandstorm damage. Protect prevents Mega Kangaskhan and Mega Lopunny from chunking away at Pheromosa's health with Fake Out and breaking its Focus Sash, but it has little use outside of this. Checks and Counters
===================

Aegislash hopelessly shuts down any Pheromosa lacking Drill Run, and offensive variants can rather take advantage of the move to activate Weakness Policy and OHKO Pheromosa next turn with +2 Shadow Sneak after Pheromosa it has switched into Stealth Rock or has taken recoil damage from Life Orb.

However, the former is 2HKOed by Drill Run after Stealth Rock damage, and Life Orb-boosted U-turn from Naughty nature Pheromosa (Naughty Peromosa is fine and the same as examples like "Jolly Landorus-T" in other tiers) does upwards of 36% damage to the latter.

(bulu's because ity was mentioned earlier but yeah make it clearer) After Intimidate, Mega Mawile narrowly avoids a 2HKO from High Jump Kick from Pheromosa lacking Life Orb and can easily OHKO it in return.

**Priority Moves**: Pheromosa's horrendous bulk leaves it prone to priority moves like Fake Out, Bullet Punch, Sucker Punch, Ice Shard, and Extreme Speed from various foes (such as?), especially if it continues to take damage from Life Orb recoil or switching into entry hazards.

**Choice Scarf Users**: Certain Choice Scarf users, such as Garchomp and Timid Tapu Lele and Garchomp (timid chomp new meta), can outspeed and OHKO Pheromosa before it is able to pivot out with U-turn or KO them first.

one thing i'd note is throughout this analysis, there were so many vague points like "a Timid nature allows unboosted Pheromosa to outspeed some setup sweepers that are at +1 and some Choice Scarf users" and "dedicated leads that can set dual screens or Aurora Veil and use Memento or Yawn are feasible options." without any examples or meta-relevant scenarios to back them up, they aren't really clear. partcularly in team options, leaving general ideas without specfic mentions of meta-relevat pokemon doesn't really allow the analysis to be as infomrative a resource for newer players as it could be.

there were so many vague points like "a Timid nature allows unboosted Pheromosa to outspeed some setup sweepers that are at +1 and some Choice Scarf users"
Naive nature, on the other hand, forgoes damage output in exchange for Pheromosa's ability to outspeed neutral-natured Choice Scarf variants of Landorus-T and Tapu Lele...
About Aurora Veil / Mementothingy, I forgot to include users, I'll get to that.

About Team Options, I'm sure I have included most of the meta-relevant Pokemon as partners and that's presumably why QC's didn't have much say on it. Battle Spot's pool of common Pokemon isn't expansive as other tiers are, but I'll go over that too.

Thanks for the catch and expect me to post again once I implement the check.

I tried my best addressing all the comments because I agree there were many points lacking examples. I thought examples of 'this Pokemon' mentioned in first set Team Options become self-explanatory in second Team Options, but apparently that's something I made up on my own. I can clearly remember that I was tired while writing this up with other BSS stuff some time ago. This probably means that I should pay attention to other analyses as well before a GPer stops by later on...

I changed the title as GP 1/2 for now but if martha has anything else to say about changes, I am totally open to it.

High Jump Kick, with a Naughty nature and a boost from Life Orb, a very powerful STAB move that inflicts serious damage on any non-resistant foe, (comma) It is being capable of scoring 2HKOs on some of the physically bulkiest foes, such as Celesteela, Hippowdon, and Mega Scizor. Heatran can also set Stealth Rock, lure in Tapu Fini and eliminate Tapu Fini it with Bloom Doom, and check Aegislash.

Moves
========

Ice Beam It is also capable of 2HKOing most Tapu Bulu variants after Stealth Rock damage with investment in Special Attack. Alternatively, Hidden Power Ghost at +1 OHKOes both Mega Gengar and Mimikyu without Disguise after Stealth Rock damage and a Quiver Dance boost. Hidden Power Ground, on the other hand, 2HKOes Toxapex at +1. Shock Wave has a chance to OHKO Gyarados, (AC) that which is otherwise a good check to this set, (AC) while still hitting Toxapex as hard as Hidden Power Ground would. Shock Wave also OHKOes Mega Charizard Y after Stealth Rock damage.

Set Details
========

The given EV spread is the most ideal for maximizing Pheromosa's damage output and Speed. Buginium Z lets Pheromosa use Savage Spin-Out to OHKO Tapu Lele, Mega Metagross, and Cresselia, which are either offensive or defensive checks to Pheromosa.

Usage Tips
========

Pheromosa aims to gain an opportunity to sweep by netting a surprise KO on a foe that expects a different set and gaining a boost from Beast Boost (RC) or by setting up with Quiver Dance on a forced switch. If Pheromosa opts for U-turn over Quiver Dance, it can potentially bluff another set by acting as a pivot early-game. Mimikyu in particular is problematic, as it can't be OHKOed by any move with full HP (RC) and has Disguise to even take on boosted Pheromosa. Entry hazards aid Pheromosa with bypassing Focus Sash users and wearing down checks like Mega Charizard Y, Gyarados, and Volcarona.

Team Options
========

Other Options
=============

High Jump Kick's chance of missing and crash damage may make Low Kick seem like a reasonable substitute, but its inconsistent Base Power can prove to be quite detrimental against certain foes. Pheromosa generally has a hard time fitting any other moves other than the ones that are already listed. Lunge weakens a switch-in, (AC) and unlike U-turn, it aids Pheromosa better in an event when it can sweep without forcing Pheromosa out, but it is generally not worth forgoing Pheromosa's ability to pivot .

===================

However, the former is 2HKOed by Drill Run after Stealth Rock damage, and Life Orb-boosted U-turn from Naughty nature Pheromosa does upwards of 36% damage to the latter.

**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types resist both of Pheromosa's STAB moves from Pheromosa.

**Priority Moves**: Pheromosa's horrendous bulk leaves it prone susceptible to priority moves like Fake Out, Bullet Punch, Sucker Punch, and Ice Shard from various foes like Mega Kangaskhan, Mega Mawile, Mamoswine, and Mamoswine, especially if it continues to take damage from Life Orb recoil or switching into entry hazards.

**Choice Scarf Users**: Certain Choice Scarf users, such as Garchomp and Timid Tapu Lele, can outspeed and OHKO Pheromosa before it is able to pivot out with U-turn or KO them first.

Ok NOW I uploaded it! My computer chose a "great" time to break down again. Good thing I found an old ass gaming computer that runs the internet well!

Only thing I added was a mention that you need a Naughty nature to reliably OHKO bulky Mega Gengar. Otherwise, nice job!
