If by "destroys" you mean "only hits with 75% of Close Combat's power" than yes, you are right.Doesn't Pinsir get storm throw? Kinda destroys close combat...
If I'm right... You're welcome Smogon

155 attack + stab return + 1.3x passive boost
Holy shit

Where does the passive boost come from?155 attack + stab return + 1.3x passive boost

Aerilate. Turns out it, Pixilate, and Refrigerate all have that as a secondary effect.Where does the passive boost come from?
WOW that's powerful. Thanks.Aerilate. Turns out it, Pixilate, and Refrigerate all have that as a secondary effect.
Do you have the source for this? I've heard it else where and I don't want to get my hopes up.Aerilate. Turns out it, Pixilate, and Refrigerate all have that as a secondary effect.
Actually I'm running Gliscor and Rotom-W that can deal with Talonflame allright. If anything, Pinsir is struggling against... well, just about everything else.Gale Wings Talonflame, I imagine would hurt the most against the likes of Mega Pinsir and Mega Heracross, though whether Talonflame and others demand a spot on a team is another story

I don't think moxie will see lasting use. Mega Pinsir is decisively OU, but regular Pinsir is kind of terrible. If someone sees Pinsir in team preview, they know its Mega. Tripping people up and getting a moxie boost before mega evolving isn't going to last incredibly long, the second he comes out they're going to prepare for Mega Pinsir. God forbid you actually ARE using banded Pinsir.
Hyper Cutter is probably better in the long run.
Moxie still will get use. Thats like saying MagicGuard Zam won't get use simply because of MegaSageModeActivated got released. And just because he has massively more power (most powerful Thrash in the game!?) doesnt mean he's going up to OU. Rocks arent his friend in his normal form and unless you can sweep the moment you mega-evolve rocks will hurt even more. You are right in that hyperCutter may be better if you plan on mega-evolving but like I posted up top...how pissed would you be if that pinsir DID get +2 before megaevolving into PerfectlyUltimatePinchBeetle. And even then Moxie will get used over his abilities with any Pinsir that isnt gonna be megaevoling
Fair points, but saying Mega Pinsir won't be OU because of stealth rock is exactly what people said about Volcarona.
That was his point? Impy was saying people thought Volcarona wouldn't be OU because of SR, yet he was, and the other guy was suggesting Mega Pinsar wouldn't because of SR, yet as you mentioned, Mega Pinsar has even more going for it, so as Impy was saying, there is no reason rocks would stop him being OU. It's a fair comparison because if rocks didn't stop Volcarona, it sure as hell won't stop Mega Pinsir.Mega Pinsir is a whole speed tier faster than Volcarona, has the unboosted attacking stat of Life Orb Groudon, actually carries useful priority and doesn't even need to take full SR damage upon switching in. That's not even a fair comparison, really.
