Pokémon GO

I'm experiencing quite an annoying bug (yes, another one). No matter how I move, no distance will be added to my eggs and buddy Pokémon. Is this just a visual bug or am I actually not gaining any kilometers?
Not a bug, but they don't update the distance until each 5 minutes. You need to wait for around 5 minutes for it to be updated. Annoying, especially when the egg is just 1 meter away from hatching.

Unless you have waited for that 5 minutes, didn't go over the speed limit (15km/h?) and it still doesn't update.....

do wish Niantic would fix those bugs they have been around forever.
lots of talk of Gen 2 coming next month as well.
*hopes Ninatic makes my local park a Larvitar nest*

so.. yea is this the list with the new CP calculations?
https://rankedboost.com/pokemon-go/generation-2-tier-list/
if so... Ampharos O.O and Houndoom looks juicy as well.
Steelix is quite high up.. A use for those crappy Onix :D
I also own an 86.7% IV porygon :D... and caught 4 in total... so well on the way to a decent porygon 2

There's two problems with this list:
  1. It's outdated and does not account for the CP changes with the recent patch
  2. It assumes that Steelix, Ampharos, Houndoom and all the other Pokemon with Mega evolutions have their Mega evolution stats, making their CP higher than what it should be
Here is an accurate list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...JpCz9AvDfAwZBmAfMLiXiZNV0/edit#gid=1479328857

Ampharos at 2695 and Houndoom at 2529 are still ok for beating specific threats, notably Ampharos against Water-types since unlike Jolteon it has a decent HP stat. But the two Pokemon that will majorly affect the metagame are Tyranitar and Blissey.

The past few days, I've got double EXP compared to normal. Any idea of how long it will last? I have a bunch of Pokémon I'd like to evolve while the event is active, but tomorrow I'll hit the 7-day capture streak. Can I wait until tomorrow to get double EXP on the streak bonus and the evolutions, or do I have to evolve today?

Or is the event already over? Haven't checked today...

well that throws a rather large spanner in the works.
caught a 15/13/15 Geodude 949 cp level 28... (maximum for me is 29.5) I dont have enough candies to go all the way to golem.. but it has better IV then my current one... and I would like one with 2 rock moves.

I have to say, this game has been a lot more fun lately. Events going on, Ditto, Gen II to look forward to, and I got a lot of 10km eggs out of the blue. Don't know what's going on, but they're doing it right. Also caught a 100% IV Pidgey today, hell yeah.

what a catch... berry + Ultra ball.
one 84% IV Snorlax at 2620 cp :D Zen Headbutt+ bodyslam so reasonable for defending gyms.
also A 122CP 15/14/15 Kabuto (will require work, but if i can work out the local kabuto spawn times.. easily fixed)

Well, thanks to this amazing event, I managed to get close to 130 000 experience in a single Lucky Egg evolution sitting. Just getting the 7-day capture streak bonus with a Great throw net me 10 600 EXP alone. Had I prepared better and caught more Weedle, I would have got another few thousand EXP, but luckily I had enough stuff to evolve to only "waste" a minute or so of Lucky Egg time.

Now, time to Transfer 40+ Pidgeotto...

I gathered over 20k stardust today alone.
just put it all in a flareon, gone from 1337 CP :D to 1702
EXP, for me isn't that important, as I would rather have as much as possible maxed out per level, to give me better gym holding capabilites, so catching things like that Snorlax is basically a free gift :D
all this stardust has given me options, maxed out a Jolteon, then I'll max out that Flareon, then prepare for level 29 which is getting close thanks to the exp.
what this event does is make everything take half the time to do, so being able to do what I normally do, but faster is very handy, very close to level 30 now, very close to the point where Pokemon start getting half the CP they used to as well for that matter, which is where good IV's come into play, because that half CP gain will put my level 30 pokes higher then some level 31's

I actually had to buy a Lucky Egg, and got like around 170k EXP in a go with new dex entries opened.

And many of them are failures. Raichuu can't work as stratter. And my first Gyarados unsurprisingly has Twister. Seriously, evolving Pokemon should be exciting, not infuriating....

At least I managed to clear out some space in my box and need not think about experience ever anymore.

getting rather fed up of BS with running.
very light green circle (near yellow) curveball + nice = escape... twice then run
had a Pikachu run after 2 balls. (orange circle)
and a wartortle run after 2 balls (red circle)
squirtle after 3 (orange circle)
now a rattata after one with nice+curve and yellow circle.
this is getting more and more frequent, and why does a Wartortle have a lower catchrate then a snorlax...
this is getting tedious, as is the dragonite i missed out on because all the map trackers dont work, and It spawns in some housing estate, was like 2 minutes from finding it, before it despawns.. had to rule out locations.
other things Ninatic need to fix, water pulse glitch... getting rather annoyed at leveling gyms up, only to have my 1/2 CP poke nuked by an invisible water pulse (health just vanishes, no animation or message) when using 1/2 cp stuff they are not exactly taking small chunks of damage.
Raichu does work.. it just seems to get bloody brick break and become useless. which after the effort of getting candies, makes you want to punch something. only 3 magikarps off my 3rd Gyarados.. in that time I only just got raichu 2 weeks ago. and the dragonite I put effort in is completely ruined by Steel wing.
and I never seem to find any dratnis.. they always spawn in locations I cant find them.. BECAUSE NINATIC HAVEN'T GIVEN ME THE NEARBY SYSTEM.
I can guess pretty well, but when its a city centre and it spawns in some back street somewhere.

Another Lucky Egg session happened, netting 144k EXP right before the event is over. Good enough at least.

I don't like to complain about things, but I noticed lately it is more difficult to catch things. Before this event, usually yellow ring yields consistent capture with just a great throw, but now it often breaks up even with curves or berry, nevermind running away. I notice negative shifting in catching probability. Not good, no?
All of this has only been anecdotal, though, but....

The event ran out for me today. Was hoping to use a Lucky egg before the event ran out

This made me sad as I thought it would be present for all of 30th November. And being in Australia, I'm ahead in time zones for most of the world so I was expecting to have it for longer. Halloween bonuses were present for the entirety of the day after the event dates finished for me.

Steel Wing on Dragonite is better for gym defence than Dragon Breath - deals more damage despite the loss of STAB. It's not completely bad.

I know your pain. I still need Aerodactyl for my Pokedex. I found one which ran away after two balls. Used two Ultra Balls + Razz Berries with curve and great throws. It was orange circle with gold medals in Rock- and Flying-types - generally I catch Pokemon by two throws at that point.

That's what I thought too. I just mass evolved a lot of Pidgey and I only got 80k EXP. However, when I looked at my EXP bar it turned out that I actually got ~160k, but the pop up only showed half.

except it has dragon claw, which is the best DPS charge move... UNLESS you have steel wing where it is the worst.
Event finished? what the? thought this went on through the 30th

I think we should post our worst evolving results on movesets to make ourselves feel better.
My first Gyarados? Twister.
First Arcanine?? Bulldoze. Well, at least two more has Flamethrower after that....
My only Venusaur? has Razor Leaf/Solar Beam *sighs*. And so are the other grasses (at least not Moon Blast on Rafflesia though)....
I have never seen a Wigglytuff with Pound and Hyper Beam or Play Rough.
That Alakazam? I just finally got? Shadow Ball.
And only one good toad has Bubble instead of Mud Shot. Last try give me Mud Shot yet again along with that Twister 'rados.

I have this Dewgong and 2 Nidoqueens with best attack moveset, and Clefable with best defense moveset. And they nerf them. Feels bad....
At least my best luck is in Vaporeon, because they are all usable when you see a blue finned critter came out from evolution shine of a 'vee. (While half of my Jolteons? Discharge)
But yeah, Random Number God hates me for some reason. Only few luck I had, and they had to nerf them. Will still cherish them though, my Nidoqueen has done great deeds and my Dewgong can still destroy dragons (although I worry now even Vaporeons can replace her role after the CP change).

At least I read some people's bad luck and I have to be thankful I didn't get 4 Arcanines with Bulldoze (... only evolved it twice, second one didn't get cursed by RNG)

Seriously though, lately now my attacking team shifts to Vaporeon spam because I don't have anyone else that has optimal movesets that I have to use generalised attackers.
On one side, I love Vaporeon as one of favourite 'veelutions. Other side, my gameplay is getting too complacent....

my second Gyarados had twister.
many high CP pidgeots that dont have Hurricane
Flareon and Jolteon with the defensive movesets.
Raichu with Brick break :(
Omastar with Mud Shot and Ancient power
Poliwraths with Bubble+ submission and mud shot +ice punch (only one with the correct moveset is the one I CAUGHT as a Poliwrath)
did just catch a Vulpix at level 29.. (91% IV) Evolved and got Feint Attack/Heat wave which, isn't useful for anything
Nidoking with Megahorn :/
Nidoqueen with Bite+Sludgewave

can only be happy I got Sandslash and Rhydon with Earthquake sandslash has mud shot... Rhydon has 15 defence IV and Mud slap though.. looking forward to parking that in gyms. and my Exeggutor with Solar beam thank god for that.

best water attacker is starmie and best Ice attacker is Jynx now though.

WTF Ninatic rolled out the new nearby tracker here, and it has completely ruined my sightings lists, it is showing things like paras and rattata 5 minutes away, a Jynx at a pokestop right on the edge of my map... there are 3-4 spawns within 50m of my house i would rather know about then where 2 paras and 3 rattata are, granted some nice things do spawn near those stops, but given the rare pokemon spawn is NOT at a pokestop it is useless.
lol 4 pidgeys on my nearby tracker... seriously... Ninatic need to rework this junk, one of those pokestops is a Nest.. nests have changed, I would like to see whatever it is the nests have changed to, rather then where i can find 4 pidgeys.
new rubbish tracker has helped me find a nest, shame that one small benefit outways the loss of huge number of spawns i now can't see what is there.

The new nearby tracker is at least better than nothing. I mean, I'd rather be able to track some Pokémon rather than none. It has already helped me to get a nice 98% Electabuzz and a few Koffing :)

yea but in rural areas it is NOTHING, all it has done for me so far is sent me all over the place collecting Magikarps,Rhyhorns and an onix in the city, when at home it is useless as all the pokestops just churn rubbish, although i did get a kabutops yesterday, I would have got that regardless of the tracker as I was at the pokestop at the time, when at home I have located a good 9-10 spawns within the old radius, which spawn more varied stuff then the pokestops.
although it does seem that one of these spawnpoints is a goldmine, more or less same area I got Snorlax, I have found an Onix, Electabuzz (sighted, but was going to work) and Rhyhorn..

Oh, good news. Gym Training is now tweaked again. Training gives double the current Prestige, same amount to how it was before. Yet attacking destroys 1000 prestige points.

This means game is more accessible to solo players now. I'm looking forward to destroying gyms around.

this explains this random level 6 blue gym that appeared 2 hours after i made it a red gym.
also today walked past a Lured pokestop and got a (low cp) Dragonair and an Omanyte
a 559 cp 71% IV ditto another thing i got today (level 29 :D)
one of the 2KM eggs hatched into a 93% Magikarp as well.

where is the information on the gym changes?

I haven't seen any confirmation (meh, doesn't usually bother official confirmation), but Silph Road travelers have confirmed it. And yeah, I went up with an errand today and on my way I burnt so many healing supplies and installed many of them and can safely say the previous training formula is back.

Somehow my secret spot I had my 'queen is destroyed so quickly. Either they find out that or they spoof, and I may have to wait for at least a month until people forget that spot's existence again. But this land starts to get stagnant again if people still prefer to train instead of break gyms, I'm afraid. Bah....

At least I will like breaking high towers. I just have to improve my healing item conservation tactics.
