Pokémon GO

I do use those Pokémon too. But I don't have six good Golem/Rhydon. Also, I like to vary between Pokémon a bit to make it more fun. That Solar Beam surprised me too, caused our raid group to fail the raid by a few seconds because no one expected it :P

yea lol, such bullshit. Ho-Oh can’t even learn Solar Beam in the actual main games. Niantic is just purposely fuckin with us at this point XD

Heck, there are a lot of things Niantic didn't get right. Maybe a raid boss is different than a wild Pokémon, therefore having access to other moves? Maybe they know it's wrong and they're indeed messing with us? And sometimes things change, you know? Look how much has changed since Gen I. Who knows.

I swear, today was so fucking sad.

Went to a Ho-Oh raid and I saw 6 people standing there. We started the raid when it had ~4 minutes left on the timer. We were standing there with 7 people, but there were 8 people in the lobby. We checked; there appeared to be a spoofer among us. Still, we proceeded to enter the raid and battle it. As soon as we started my group began to whine about the spoofer. The Ho-Oh was already at 50% HP but my group decided to 'not give the spoofer this legendary'. I told them to just continue, because the raid timer was already finished so we couldn't redo it (thus making us lose a pass + the Ho-Oh). Still, 5/7 people backed out because they wanted to be justice warriors. The two of us couldn't beat it. We all lost our passes. We couldn't redo it because the timer was over. I traveled 30 minutes for this raid.

Really, I could already see from a distance that these people were cringy as fuck. But normally I just say hi > battle > done > catch boss somewhere else. Seriously people, don't do this to me again or this """game""" will be in my trash really quickly. This happened 6+ hours ago and I'm still mad.

So do there exist any good "budget" options for tackling T3 Raid bosses right now, not necessarily Solo but with a smaller than normal group? Right now the only notable one I have is an Exeggutor with good IV's but a bad moveset (Psychic, need a TM to swap for Solarbeam), but I need better resources to try and break into the higher raid levels to improve the loot drops. Right now all I can do is build coins and try to buy incubators for egg hatching in case of good mons. I'm probably gonna miss out on Ho-oh but I want to prep for when Gen 3 raids inevitably start up.

Holy shit really?! I swear i wouldve knocked someone out. Wanting to be justice warriors so badly, even when it costs them (and others) time, resources and energy. Pathetic

Honestly that's so stupid I would request probably request the mods in my discord raid group to blacklist or ban those people. What they did is equivalent to sabotaging a raid and wasting people's time, money, and resources. Punishing spoofers is not something you should take in your own hands. That's for Niantic to handle. Pokemon Go isn't some zero-sum game where a spoofer's success will have any direct harm on your gameplay besides maybe a little increased gym influence, which a mon like ho-oh doesn't alter anyway. Seriously sorry for you man :/

I'm assuming by budget options you have access to at least Daily Passes (which don't require gym coins).

Exeggutor is fine. Keep Psychic, and raid a Machamp with buds. Steel moveset nonwithstanding, it's an easy raid (even with one Egg and some backup) and, if you can get one with Fighting moves, it will help you vs Snorlax / Tyranitar and potential futures raids like Exploud, Walrein, and the Regis. You can repeat this and build a decent Machamp army since any other Fighting type is probably gonna come from Blaziken who is going to be hard to acquire.

An army of Machamp means you are take a Tier 4 with some friends in Tyranitar, who not only is amazing on its own right, but also allows you to unlock Gengar and Alakazam in Tier 3 much more comfortably. While they are more glass cannons (not a fan of these) than Champ, on a budget these give more damage (and thus more balls) in raids if they hit the target super effectively.

If you're able to TM Solar Beam to Eggy, you can tackle Omastar and have a discount Vaporeon if you lack one of those.

Overall though, I'd focus on getting Machamp -> Tyranitar and go from there. Sadly for Ho-Oh you need to get a more sizable crew even with 6 Ttars and it must not have Solar Beam.

EDIT: Incubators with gym coins is a decent idea if you lack dust and want some fast, but honestly the RNG aspect of trying to get a usable Pokemon (not shit like Goldeen or Sudowoodo) is not good compared to the guarantee of Passes.

So turns out there's a fairly active discord for my area that organizes raids, and if nothing else I can piggyback off of those for clears of Ho-oh (got one tonight 13/15/14, but ES + Fire Blast moveset I should probably consider retooling once something drops a Charge TM). Hopefully I can find some assists to amass a couple Machamps and Tyranitars as per the recommendation.

One thing, do you recommend evolving some potentially imperfect mons for the sake of having some back up on raids, or just save the candy and stardust for the higher IV/CP Raid captures? Raids for Machamp and Tyranitar around here are surprisingly less common than I would have figured, so I consider it worth the Candy/Dust to evolve something like Primeape to not let the raid pass, even if it won't do much once I get said Machamp army. I mainly ask because I'm only just scratching the territory of where level ups get expensive to keep my mons relevant for raid battles, so I don't know if this will leave me starved for Dust down the line.

Yea feel free to evolve. Power ups doesn't start to get costly until past level 30 so you can stop there if anything. Inferior substitutes (like Primeape, and other stuff like Poliwrath) work until you can optimize your squad.

Wow Fluke sorry about those Justice Warriors as I would not want their company compared to spoofers. When it comes down to it, teamwork is what matters more. If there's anything I have a pet peeve against, it's Justice Warriors as I've completely tuned out of watching Football as sports and politics don't mix for me.

As far as level 3 raids, I have access to my son's level 31 account on an iPad as I've gone to even the Ninetale raids just to at least get a raid done when it would otherwise skip to another day when my local raid group is not active. I've also gotten at least one Ho-Oh on both my active accounts and lesser used PTC accounts which we hadn't used since day one when PTC accounts were not logging on properly and had to resort to using google account instead. I've gotten this far on my google account and only intend to use the PTC accounts for supporting purposes when necessary.

I would avoid investing too much stardust in mons you know will be replaced (like primeape) unless they hold some special sentimental value to you (like my perfect c/cc ursaring). IVs don't matter as much as you think, so I would go for high level evolves instead. Evolving a lvl 30 mankey or a lvl 25+ with decent ivs is definitely a good use of that candy, and gets u a useable mon without much stardust!

I have reached 38 only a few days ago, and maxed everything I have maxed out previously, I love double stardust been pumping in remote feeds and walking 10km eggs for even more, whatever stardust I have now will be powering up my 100% Dragonite and Gyarados I evolved during the event, and my second Blissey. level 38 is that bliss level where you can power up whatever you like, and given how I played it, and stronger then most of the 40's due to haw many things I have maxed out, and can max out, by the time I reach 40, I should have a LOT of maxed out pokes, will I have more then the current 40's? maybe.

we had a raid group earlier, that said they were going in at a set time, someone going through snow on a bike said to wait, here is the thing we had "air support" so everyone went in.. guy on the bike turns up when everyone is catching. if we didn't have air support, the guy who took 20 minutes to get there would have got in. it is getting to the point I am going to get ratty with people who invite air support before anything has formed, because they are taking away slots from legitimate players in gyms, and now in raids, especially as we have large groups, and getting 17+ inside sometimes, one day we had 20, one spoofer gets in, someone misses out. people then feel they have to let the air support in because they were invited, or because they find them helpful, unless it is one of the legit only guys who set up a private group, oh and these spoofers also kick off if they waste raid passes (same as above) because they don't get in.. how is that anyone's fault? they can't be arsed to get off their backsides to get to the raid, they don't deserve to be in there, and also because they are not there, cant see why they didn't get in, and these spoofers are the sort of players who behave like entitled spoiled children (they are adults) who think they can do what they like, and dislike people doing things back, they have no problem spoofing halfway around the world for 100% pokes, that they then stick in gyms inside a closed park, way after closing time, but if someone kicks them out after closing time, they bitch that the park is closed and shouldn't be kicked out, they have targeted players, because they "dislike spoofers" they have trashed legit raid chats, and even after reporting still seemingly play, (even though i reported them for 3 of 4 offences in the list, griefing, spoofing and multi accounting, ALL WITH PROOF), so this is probably another reason they get let in, no one stands up to them, more people just join them instead. why? o yes because Niantic do nothing about it, if they did, there would be a lot less escalation into mayhem. some of the stories on reddit as well, I mean, things shouldn't even get that far, you have games companies like Epic SUING cheaters and cheater app creators, Why are Niantic not doing this?

oh and no it isn't a complaint post, just giving my experiences, on spoofers around here and the lack of things Niantic seem to do, I will probably report them again, with the recent teleporting around the world stuff, and see what happens, and update you.

I don't think it'll ever be a cheater-free game. Heck, we can't even have a cheater-free world. I can't think of any game that doesn't have cheaters, especially when there aren't any competitive aspects involved. I think they'll keep on existing until the game completely dies. Also: Niantic probably knows too that their playerbase consists for the biggest part of cheaters, hence banning them will only have negative effects on Niantic's income.

If I remember, the campaign was "one week to fill quota, one week from that last day for rewards," and the first period was until the 26th. If I did understand that right, we have until Sunday before this stuff stops.

I did not remember right, I think there are 5 hours of it left today from this edit (end at 4 PM EST).
