Pokemon NPC Mafia v2 - NPCs win!

Synonym for this game: blitzspiel.

My role for those that want to know what HD is talking about:

Dear E.A.,

You are the Magikarp Fisherman. You are known for being a pathetic Pokemon Trainer that never manages to evolve his Pokemon into Gyarados.

Only once during the game, by PMing imperfectluck ‘Night X – Fish for bodies,’ you will go to the river and fish for any bodies of villagers that may turn up in the middle of the night. You will find any NPC corpses that have been dumped into the river for disposal, give them a proper burial, and vow to take on their roles for yourself and avenge them. You will gain the abilities of all NPCs that die on the night you use this role. However, the roles of all the NPCs that died and were fished up by you will not be revealed upon their deaths, due to you giving them a burial.

You are allied with the Pokemon NPCs. You win if the NPCs win.

Probably the most interesting role I have had, and definitely the one with the most potential. I was hoping to use this on a night where there was a cross-fire, so that I might have been able to kill. w/e, I got HD's bodyguard ability, even though I never got to use it.

What. How the hell do you suspect me over Tanz. No one else claimed Rogue, yet 2 people claimed item cloner/maker.

I know. tredge informed me, while I was alive, that he was approached by Scrubs as an item duplicator and Thorns as a "save two people from lynch for two days" person. I really wanted the last ability to be true, but sadly tredge figured out that one. It was still awesome that you guys were going to lynch Kharozz as Team Aqua leader. We gave 2 people info that he was leader, but sadly, you guys saw it and then lynched askaninjask. Good job village. You guys definitely played well.

I had a really tough decision on telling you when to activate your ability, because I mainly thought I had control of everything every night, and there would be no deaths almost each night. I was very surprised about night 5's deaths, and should of told you to use it that night. Eventually I decided night 6, since it was "now or never". Also, now I'm wondering if your ability only works with only the NPCs (village) or everyone that dies.

This was a very good move by Aqua that has gone unnoticed. We almost did lynch Kharozz, until asim told me Hobo Joe was your real leader, and I realized that you guys knew Thorns's Link Cable Lady claim was fake because he told you he was captured by Hobo Joe. Hobo Joe then became a target, he was already suspicious with his horrible fake claim (misspelled company as "compant", although he kept it consistent when he claimed to DLE)

If only our eruption had gone right...

If you're talking about night 5, Focus Sash allowed me to survive with 1 HP!

Fuck the Focus Sash. I should've listened to Dogfish and stole it from you. Instead I decided to steal HD's Focus Punch. If I had stolen the Sash from you, then we would've gotten the Punch anyway.

Oh well 20/20 hindsight.

If you check Hobo Joe/askaninjask role, he could only make the team steal/kill a person as well as a redirector role. We did steal from Thorns, not kidnap him; however, either way would have risen suspicion with you which led to an immediate termination of askaninjask as a welcoming present. (Convienently, he had his own mafia game to host during that time).

Team Aqua was better at planning rather than execution. I was going to mole, if it wasn't for my typo. Game Freak201 got screwed with his fake flavor role. tredge was the unluckiest out of us, yet he survived thanks to a redirect of asim's kidnap role to him. We were hoping to keep him alive to perform a successful kill of Kharozz (we didn't like his inspecting) but I died unexpectedly when I could have BG'd myself. I was handing off my Unown to askaninjask for safe keeping, but I never made the handoff in time. Either way, you would have gotten it anyways thanks to that lynch.

What exactly did Altair do that ended Magma's chances? I'm trying to figure that out from an outsiders view, because I don't remember any of Aqua having info on any Magma members at all. Then again, I died night 2 and failed to inspect anyone (I inspected DLE Night 1, after he died)

We needed him to kill a specific target and stay in a couple day alliance with us along with asim and Fangren, which would've guaranteed a Magma victory. Instead, he gave asim exactly what he needed to win the game, in order to screw us(Magma) over (asim needed the Unowns, which Altair had, which was why asim was in on it). Altair also killed Tanz instead of his designated target. This made it impossible for us to win, as we needed the votes from all of our team, as well as needing both asim and mine's abilities to take MM87 out of the lynching game.

edit: it got to this case because Dogfish44's one time kill ability on Pidge and whoever was targeting Pidge on Night 5? failed because of Pidge's Focus Sash. We would've won without Altair had this item not been on Pidge, but it didn't work out the way we planned twice.

Altair had the Unown A, boosting his priority, and could of killed me before HD could protect me. HD would then die to Fangren (which did happen anyway). However, EA would of obtained the ability to be a hooker and bodyguard at once. I'm not sure if mine and HD's disappearance would of confused Magma and made them try to kill us when we're already dead. I can't tell where the game would go from there either.

Now I have a question for Magma. Team Aqua tried to contact you about an alliance from d1, why did you never respond? We could have attempted to dictate lynches together. Why did it not work?

Also, I was wondering who had the Teachy TV Day 2 and Night 3. I honestly thought that askaninjask did after killing Mind. Did he never have it or what?

aamto didn't forward us Tredge's PM until like N2 or 3 or something.

I stole the Teachy TV N1 from -Mind- because I thought he suspected me, so I thought "well he must have something".

Should've trolled you guys first.

I was mostly clueless for the entire game; I had no idea who to talk to.
My role let me see if someone voted for their teammate.
Night 1- Useless.
Night 2- Found J-man
Night 3&4- forgot to send in action; that could have helped
Night 5- Useless
Night 6- Tanz died.

So yeah...

the only time i was ever confused in this game was when i got stolen from by someone with lower priority than me holding unown z, causing me to lose all four unowns that i had just obtained >_<

but then altair admitted to having them and gave two to me and i agreed to use my hook/kidnap and vote to help team magma. then i decided to screw that idea and win instead.

Man I was so excited when that was happening. I told both thorns and scrubs the same thing, hoping they would think I was a guillable noob XD almost worked, but then it all went very wrong. Asim you were the one that blew the cover... lame! Gj on winning though.

And ipl, thanks for hosting! :-D

All hail kyogre!

This was a fun game to see unfold from the sidelines, although a bit painful at times (potential kharozz lynching made me want to cringe, especially when mafia inspector already died <_<). While village certainly wasnt flawless (they should have used sacred ash and focus punch either ASAP or given it to scrubs; they/I should have picked up on shady claims faster; etc), having 4 confirmed mafia by day 1 and a very good list of suspects is pretty incredible. This also goes in conjunction with the fact that Team Aqua played quite poorly and got extremely unlucky; Team Magma played alright but Class's mistakes certainly didnt help; Wolf seemed to be a non-factor this game. Still, Pidge ultimately made the right calls and picked up on the right stuff. I'll save the rest of my thoughts for postgame though.

Nice job NPC's

First, this was the most fun I've had playing mafia, so thanks for the great game ipl! (I hope you make a postgame)

Second, my strategy lategame was to revive aska using the sacred ash (I really didn't think that I could win it alone) and use his broken role to fuck up team magma. So when Fangren told me that they only revived someone without their abilities for only 2 day/night cycles, I sorta gave up hope and decided that the NPCs deserved this win, so I handed the game to them.

About Fangren I didn't think he was a *terrible* wolf, he was smart enough to "ally" with me and we planned a lot. I guess he made a lot of mistakes early-game then? He was certainly better than team aqua though lol.

Also MM87 you were quite important, I didnt know if you had the "3 lives" thing and those 3 votes could come in handy for the village. You also sealed the game with that vote (all the other village votes were past the deadline, and class and aamto had voted pidge).

lol dogfish is a p terrible fuck tigerer.

Tredge, FinnRagetti, J-Man, Game_freak201

Well, tredge and FinnRagetti played well, Finn only making one real mistake and tredge being inspected :(

Also, the night FinnRagetti died, he was going to be holding the Unown ! which would protect him, but I said that it would probably be better in my hands. In a terrible unfolding of events, Finn died, we had no unowns, and we couldn't get asim to vote along with us in the next day's lynch :(

About Fuck Tigr, some of us have real life issus >.>
Second, Altair is a prat. Enough said.
3rdly, we got extraordinarily unlucky overall.
If you ask me, brillianntly hosted but fucked at the end by altair. If he wanted to revive Aska, killing my target would've made more sense.

I look forward to postgame, and pushing the rl issues aside, Dogfish has demonstrated to us how to NOT pull off a FUCK TIGER.

But yeah, external views state that mafia played horribly.

Team Aqua was a team with great planning skills, but failed to execute (Game Freak201's and my typos) and filled with bad luck (tredge pulling an inspect to him). I think we did well under the circumstances of our d1 blunder, successfully redirecting a kidnap from asim to tredge to keep him alive and aamto there to get lynched. The problem was that you guys decided to lynch kharozz-->askaninjask, and I died. If neither of those two would have happened, we could have still been a factor a bit longer. Thanks to altair, Team Aqua still played a vital role in bringing down it's rival mafia. Good job to all of Aqua for managing to make something happen with nothing.

Honestly I think you guys weren't good at all, "yay" you saved tredge, which did nothing since his ability didnt work, and lynching kharozz > askaninjask was more of a village blunder than anything. Also lol you didn't have good planning, I had absolutely no info when I subbed in and me and tredge were both exposed.

edit: hipster dubulous is still the best
