SPOILERS! Pokemon Sword & Shield Pre-Release SPOILERS - Check Post 2!

In addition to Defog, it probably will get Spikes due to the use of caltrops in Britain and the fact that a nickname for them is "Crow's Feet." It would be a missed opportunity if they didn't tbh. Get fucked Skarmory lol
God I love lore porn, I didn't know this...that's really neat.

Hmm, a Pokémon whose ability is so binarily powerful that it singlehandedly makes it an nigh-impenetrable counter to specific team compositions while being utterly useless against others? Honestly, who would ever want to use something like that?

Aren't you glad out of hundreds of pokemon that got cut, despite all odds, you can still use little husk boy. I'm thinking he's going straight to ubers. HONESTLY.

Something tells me Corsola will lose Hustle (Japanese: Enthusiasm
1573087289629.png
) and probably gain Cursed Body, per Cursola's dex entry saying touching its ectoplasm will turn you to stone. Keeping Natural Cure and especially Regenerator would be great, but not sure if either of those fit thematically with a bleached out ghost coral. Can't think of any other spooky, sadboi abilities that might fit otherwise. It'll likely exchange Recover for Pain Split.

Since Cursola's stats haven't been shown yet, J-Corsola's base stats for reference are
HP 65
Atk 55
Def 95
SpAtk 65
SpDef 95
Spe 35
Total: 410

+80~100 boost probably, with most of it sunk into Def and SpDef if Galarian Corsola remains a defensive 'mon? I think it'll end up with a similar spread to Dusknoir.

I'm assuming hp and s.atk are going to get some boosts first...though that's based on the design and well...based on dusknoir's design I'd peg it as having a lot of hp too.

I've coded up the mons whose stats we're confident on and added them to the Nexus server's metagame!
Here's a list of the moves I provided each with for now.
To add a new Pokemon or move to your team you need to use the Import/Export tab and enter their name(s).
Inteleon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Shadow Ball
- Snipe Shot
Enjoy messing about and feel free to dm me suggestions or feedback! I urgently need to sleep. That's why the server will say things like Stalwart doesn't exist, by the way- I was focusing on getting things passably working for singles.

These aren’t the whole movesets right?

Eiscue's can't block mold breaker sadly, so it might be even more niche than we thought if haxorus, excadrill, pangoro, or even hawlucha rise. This thing will hard wall and block a lot of physical sweepers though, hopefully its not reliable in getting its ability back and more like shed skin where it may activate. I guess this is where dynamaxing to change the weather may come in handy.

Speaking of the spooky bug, how does dynamax levels work with shedinja? not that he would benefit from % boost or flat boost anyway.

Aegislash ain't gunna like max guard i assume as well.

So it seems Knock Off got stronger this gen (Dark types in general), seeing as there are no Mega stones/Z Crystals to reduce the damage. I, for one, hate my Pokemon's item being removed. Can we confirm that Knock Off's base power remained the same? I can imagine a team with Knock Off spam will be so scary: Weavile, Bisharp, Crawdaunt. Basically, you need a Fairy or a Dark-type of your own to counter.

Fighting types also resist Dark, in addition to Fairy and Dark. But the thing is, nothing likes losing its item. Sure Clefable can tank a Knock Off, but whoops, there goes Leftovers. :/

This may be the Dark type generation.

So i might have missed this in the dynamax vs gigantimax discussion but please remember the importance of any single member being able to dynamax or gigantimax at any given time. If i have 3 Gigantimax capable mons, you have to pick and choose which one, and not only that, but also decide whether you want the g max move right now or the effects of something else. But your opponent will also try to takenout potential gigantimax threats before they can be caught off gaurd. Its a very interesting mechanic, and knowing when and where to activate whoch form can make or break a battle.

Who knows, maybe Eiscube will create Hail Stall where you're forced to run special attackers or Mold Breakers. It sounds like an interesting gimmick at least.

Idk if it's really going to change much honestly, Knock off is already on every team, I doubt the lack of megas and z crystals is going to make knock off spam teams a thing.

Thinking Toxicroak will be interesting in competitive this gen.
I want more information on why, It has always been an interesting little frog man, what makes it more valuable now? The supposed dark influx?

We already covered this, but thank you.

Are there any changes to type effectiveness like in Gen 6’s changes to what steel resists?
Not that anyone has mentioned yet, I've been actively in leak threads on 4chan and haven't seen any mention of it, I don't really see why they would change anything now though.

Darks being talked up, rain abuse with Barraskewda. He can actually handle Toxapex and Ferrothorn. Suckerpunch/Drain Punch/Poison Jab/EQ with Assault vest or life orb will stand up against Dragapult, Grimmsnarl and a couple other new OU mon. I've used him well since Gen 4 and it's something people routinely underestimate.

you seem like a noob trap

it has great typing, presumably great bulk, and we don't know what its moves and abilities are yet

give it a chance
It's probably the same as the original stat wise, attack and sp.atk might be swapped though considering the bear trap design. It might have some value.

Since Blissey/Chansey is no longer available, I wonder who will fill the void of main Cleric/Special Wall of stall/semi-stall teams? At the top of my head is Umbreon who can also learn Heal Bell, Magic Guard Clefable (arguably better than Natural Cure). And maybe Sylveon?

Umbreon is awful. Even cutting half the Pokedex won't make that passive trash any good.

I'm feeling it will have higher offense because I imagine bear traps fucking hurt. Maybe 109/91/84/56/99/32. I can see defense and sp. defense swapping too.

I'm wondering if it'll get a steel-type signature move that has like 80 BP or 90 BP and inflicts wrap-status. Just seems like iron head doesn't fit it, especially since it can't even abuse the flinch chance due to its low speed.

Valid. Could just get anchor shot though.

Don't worry about it. Speculatory SWSH has told me Hawlucha isn't as great as this combo would let it on to be due to poor Flying STAB options and middling power outside of Dynamax. Still strong lad though
By the way in the speculatory SwSh who benefits the most by Dynamaxing/Gigantamaxing that previously was not that good?
