Pokesav and legitimacy - opinions?

Is cloning via Pokesav considered legitimate?

  • Yes - the pokemon itself is not modified, and its basically the same as AR cloning.

  • No - this would encourage the use of pokesav for illegitimate things, llike modifying the nature/IVs

Okay, you have a game that you can extract the save file, but no AR.

How can you clone?
1.) GTS cloning - dangerous and not helpful with Darkrai and other events.
2.) Bother someone - Find someone you think is legit, have them clone it, taking time out of their lives and yours, followed by waiting for them to clone without keeping a copy for themselves, and getting it back, and trading 6 pokemon back is a real pain.
3.) Import the save file to Pokesav, open the storage, save the pkm file, and just keep on loading and loading and loading until you have the desired copies.

So, my question is - is using pokesav legitimate, when you aren't modifying a pokemon's stats/moves/items/anything like that?

I don't see just cloning them with Pokésav as a big issue. It's as legal as GTS cloning, except faster and way more practical.

Read the announcement at the head of the forum regarding hacking. That pretty much sums up mine, and I daresay most of the community's feelings on this matter. As long as your means of cloning are well-documented nobody will throw you in the stocks.
