Portal 2 Thread of Mind Bending Puzzles

Portal 2 launched on Steam last night at around midnight. After about only an hour of gameplay (My friend and I has teh school...) my face is like blown off man. Atlas and P-Body are probably the most lovable robots in the history of ever. Valve has done it again.​
 
Is it that good?
I was thinking of getting it as the shops today, but I passed on it and said nahhh, better wait until it gets cheaper
 
I'm waiting for a friend of mine to get it so I can sit at his house and play it for hours whilst spouting my frustrated complaints, much as I did in the first one.

the first WAS good fun, though I was fed up by the time whatsherfacebitchrobot kept taunting me when I was trying to escape. screw that. but I am looking forward to playing this!
 
Staying clear from this thread until I beat it, but that seems pre emptive, as I don't know if I'll even buy it today.

I am skeptical of the single player being as good as the original. I LOVED GLaDOS. I'll wait for this one to come down in price, as I should have done with shitfront...er, homefront.

Because of how unlikeable you are. It says so here in your personnel file: Unlikeable. Liked by no one. A bitter, unlikeable loner whose passing shall not be mourned. "Shall not be mourned." That's exactly what it says. Very formal, very official. It also says you were adopted. So that's funny, too.

It's not like your being forcedto buy the hats either way. People would've been fine with a game w/o hats, so why should they care about the game having hats they won't buy?

Man single player's so fun and co-op's brilliant, my friend kept attacking me with a lazer and so once we'd made "peace" he just had to take one of my portals to get over a gap of water... just as he walked into the first one I quickly shot my other portal over the water so he died instantly, so much fun to be had just pissing about and working together!
 
I really feel like this needs to be said. I LOVED the first Portal, and I was really afraid the writing for this game wouldn't be up to snuff, but i was SO wrong. I swear, the writing in this game (especially for one character in particular) is so amazing. I really love this, and I'm glad Valve actually made it longer than the first one, since that was probably my biggest complaint about the original.
 
Any of you played Co-op yet?

I've been playing with a friend (who is local) but have terrible lag in game. The lag on the player depends on host.

I was just wondering if its just our internet connection/our internet connection in relation to each other/or just bad connection on part of valve. (I know their isn't any dedicated servers)

Co-op works like butter for me, and I haven't heard much bad stuff about it. I think either you or your friend has really ghetto internet, most likely.
 
i just finished the single player game, i was a really big fan of the original Portal and was really looking forward to this

i was pleased overall... the old Portal humour is there, with some challenging (almost too challenging at times) puzzles and some cool new mechanics. game of the year? nah, probably not... but a very good game and highly recommended
 
played through single player for most of yesterday, started playing this morning but have had some issues, wondering if anyone else has had them:

excellent game.
absolutely loved the ending.
