name: Special Sweeper
move 1: Hyper Beam
move 2: Nasty Plot / Tri Attack
move 3: Thunderbolt
move 4: Dark Pulse / Shadow Ball
item: Life Orb / Chople Berry / Lum Berry
ability: Adaptability
nature: Timid / Modest
evs: 252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

* Porygon-Z's high base Special Attack coupled with Adaptability and great coverage allows it to break down or outright sweep a variety of slower opposing team compositions.

* Hyper Beam is the preferred STAB attack due to its 150 Base Power Max Strike and lack of recharge when used with Dynamax.

* Nasty Plot helps Porygon-Z break down many dedicated specially defensive walls and takes advantage of more passive Pokemon.

* Tri Attack is an alternative STAB choice that has less power than Hyper Beam but does not have recharge when used outside Dynamax.

* Uproar can also be used as a secondary STAB once sound- and Normal-immune checks have been removed.

* Thunderbolt is chosen over alternatives like Discharge for improved damage output when Porygon-Z isn't Dynamaxed

* Dark Pulse gives Porygon-Z the ability to drop Special Defense with Max Darkness, helping it break Ferrothorn and certain Assault Vest users that resist its STAB attacks.

* Shadow Ball gives Porygon-Z a super effective move option against both Dragapult and Mimikyu, and is the only option that OHKOes non-Dynamax Mimikyu.

* Ice Beam is another option that helps Porygon-Z hit Dragon-types harder than Tri Attack as well as hit Dragapult super effectively.

* Running Agility allows Porygon-Z raise either Special Attack or Speed, and perform a "Double Dance" sweep.

* Life Orb augments Porygon-Z's already sky-high damage output, and helps supplement power on non-Adaptability boosted moves.

* A Chople Berry allows Porygon-Z to survive Fighting-type coverage from the likes of Cinderace, allowing it to win in the one-on-one when Dynamaxed.

* Lum Berry allows Porygon-Z to safely set up Nasty Plot against status-inducing Pokemon, particularly against stall or balance teams.

* A Timid nature is chosen for Porygon-Z to outspeed Excadrill and Rotom formes, the latter of which are particularly useful to outspeed before they are able to Volt Switch out.

* A Modest nature is chosen to increase wallbreaking power if you have other checks to Pokemon near base 90 Speed.

[SET]
name: Choice
move 1: Tri Attack / Uproar
move 2: Thunderbolt
move 3: Ice Beam / Shadow Ball
move 4: Trick / Hyper Beam
item: Choice Scarf / Choice Specs
ability: Adaptability
nature: Timid / Modest
evs: 252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

* Porygon-Z's immense Special Attack and decent Speed allow it to become a potent user of Choice items, either as a potent revenge killer that cannot be switched into easily with Choice Scarf or as an unparalleled special wallbreaker with Choice Specs.

* Tri Attack is Porygon-Z's Adaptability-boosted STAB attack and is generally used over Hyper Beam on this set to avoid having to Dynamax and lose the Choice item boosts.

* Uproar gives Porygon-Z slightly higher damage output and prevents sleep at the expense of locking into it for three turns and preventing switching.

* Thunderbolt is use deal maximal damage over Discharge, with the purpose of eliminating targets quicker being valued over potential paralysis.

* Ice Beam has a wide variety of neutral and super effective targets, serving as perhaps Porygon-Z's best midground option against potential switch-ins.

* Shadow Ball can be used to hit both Dragapult and Mimikyu super effectively, which are otherwise decent checks to Porygon-Z.

* Trick allows Porygon-Z to cripple specially defensive switch-ins and free up move selection.

* Hyper Beam can be used as a one-time finisher in endgame scenarios, allowing Porygon-Z to effectively revenge kill Dynamax Pokemon.

* Psyshock can potentially be used with Choice Specs in order to pose serious threats to special walls like Blissey and Chansey, which are common switch-ins to Porygon-Z.

* A Timid nature is generally chosen in order to outspeed both Excadrill and Rotom-A. It is also required on the Choice Scarf set in order to outspeed maximum Speed Dragapult.

* A Modest nature helps improve Porygon-Z's wallbreaking power at the expense of getting outsped by a greater range of threats.

============

Porygon-Z's middling Speed tier and lower bulk mean that it needs support to get in safely against Pokemon it can successfully wallbreak against. The two best ways are either by using a pivoting move to bring it in unharmed or by providing speed control to help it match up better against faster Pokemon. Finally, physical wallbreakers can be used to complement Porygon-Z's coverage, weakening specially defensive walls for Porygon-Z to clean.

I don't know if marilli reviewing this is still happening but otherwise I'm just checking this now, Porygon-Z is cool.

I think Chople Berry should be slashed on the first set somewhere, it's the most common item right now and it's great for beating Cinderace in a Dynamax 1v1. I've also noticed the Modest nature ones (which are usually the ones running Chople) drop some Speed for bulk and rely a bit on outspeeding stuff after Max Strike drops, I believe it's 124 Speed EVs to outspeed -1 Cinderace unless my math is wrong so that benchmark is worth mentioning.

As for moves, it seems like Discharge isn't getting significant usage at the moment so you can probably remove it, as well as Psyshock on the Choiced set since it seems Specs hasn't gained much traction (only 2.4%). I'd probably also slash Dark Pulse first on both sets since I think Shadow Ball is only worth it if you really need to hit Mimikyu super-effectively. This is obviously a relevant scenario so I think Shadow Ball is also fine, but we're looking at 80% vs 12.5% on Dark Pulse vs Shadow Ball.

Also throw in Porygon2 as a teammate somewhere since Double Ducks seeing usage, unsure where the best place to list it as a teammate would be though.

Had more to say than I expected but otherwise this is good, QC 1/2.

To add to what Psynergy said:

- Might want to mention or slash in Agility on the first set somewhere. I haven't personally seen them, but its got 16% usage at the moment (making it the 9th most used move), probably just simple late game sweep sort of stuff.

He pretty much said all that I planned though, so QC approved 2/2!

Implemented. I have P2 as a thunder wave / speed control due to its ability to fish paras, didnt think it deserved its own category.

Also apologies for some of the outdated movechoices, really haven't touched this since like the very first weeks of DLC.
