I was wondering, could Moltres be a MixSweeper?

With something like:

Moltres@Life Orb
Naughty/Rash, 252 Speed, 120 Att, 136 Sp.att
-Fire Blast/Flamethrower
-Sky Attack/Wing Attack
-Hidden Power Ice/Grass
-Roost
Zapdos makes for an amazing Mixed Sweeper with a similar set, utilizing Drill Peck/Hidden Power: Grass(possibly ice)/Thunderbolt/Roost, especially because of the superior Drill Peck and the fact that it is incredibly difficult to switch in. The only weakness is that the EVs you have to run to make it useful make it rather shaky defensively (and it's really hard to get Zapdos in when it's not defensive), and thus it's not as effective as other Mixed Sweepers.

Same thing for Moltres, except it could prove useful by coming in on Infernape freely. It also has a hard time dealing good damage with the low-powered Wing Attack (Sky Attack's charge turn on a Life Orb sweeping Moltres is very dangerous), which it needs to hit certain Pokemon hard where the special attacks can't (for example, Tentacruel). X4 weakness to Stealth Rock only makes the situation worse.

In conclusion, it looks good on paper but it may not work as well as other Pokemon. :( (Even Life Orb, Mixed Sweeping Zapdos isn't too good, although the damage outputs are amazing)

currently testing this ninjask

ninjask@focus sash (brightpowder?)
substitute
baton pass
x-scissor
mud slap

and yes mud slap does lower evasion in ladder matches...

Uh...so by that logic, we should use CBBlissey because no one uses it, even though there are so many more things that does it better ( so many more ).
the Flygon using Sunny Day was kind of a joke. heh.(But I really am breeding this!)
I know you were just giving me an example...

and not so many do this better with Draco Meteor >.>

Something I made when I was bored.

Drifblim (M) @ Starf Berry
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 28 HP/252 Def/76 Spd/152 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Hypnosis
- Ominous Wind
- Baton Pass
- Substitute
---
Meant to be led.

The EVs will guarantee survival of a Modest Choice Scarf Gengar Shadow Ball and an Adamant Choice Band Weavile Night Slash. This will activate the Starf Berry and Unburden (though Unburden won't be Passed). Against the Gengar, Ominous Wind should be used to OHKO as he'll still be faster, but Weavile will be slower so Hypnosis is ideal. Against other leads, a simple SubPass will work, the HP is divisible by 4 to accomodate this.

I've been using this Nidoqueen to lead on my hail team with decent success;

Nidoqueen @Leftovers
Nature: Sassy
252 HP, 252 SpDef, 4 Att
~Toxic Spikes
~Roar
~Blizzard/Ice Beam
~Crunch

She's fairly effective opening, although beware of powerful earthquakes. The idea is focusing on her special defense, surviving a Draco Meteor from Modest Specsmence (70.57% - 82.81%), and Hydro Pump also misses a OHKO, with 80.73% - 95.05%. Choice Band varieties will crush Nidoqueen with Earthquake.

Specs Gengar Shadowball is only a 3HKO(45.57% - 53.65%). She easily 2HKOs Gengar back with Crunch (57.63% - 67.56%)

She'll have to switch out of Gyarados, but if he Dragon Dances, he could be Roared away. She'll have to switch out of Tyranitar, as even if I carried Earthquake, it will barely dent him unless I invest a lot into attack. Hippowdon will force a switch, seeing as an Earthquake will rip through Nidoqueen, and Blizzard will fail to 2HKO with neutral nature and no EVs.

As for all the leading Wobbs, and Sub/Passers, she can Roar them away. Or setup Toxic Spikes and then Roar them away. Since she's the lead I've been considering running Ice Beam over Blizzard, but Blizzard hasn't let me down yet.. not to mention it helps her 'meh' offense later in the match.

All in all, she works well with the rest of my team. I was considering Fire Blast for Bronzong, but the rest of the team can handle him.. and besides, I don't want her risking a Psychic/Earthquake at any rate. ^_^

Blaziken @ Liechi Berry-Adamant
~Fire Punch
~Agility
~Substitute
~Sky Uppercut
Evs: 252 Attack/244 Speed/12 Hp

Comments: This set is similar to the Empoleon set Lee posted a while ago. What you do is switch in on an attack that 'Ken resists and set up a sub. Then you agility while they break the sub. Keep on subbing until your Liechi activates, and then sweep. Try to get rid of the other team's bulky waters before setting up.

Blaziken @ Petaya Berry-Modest
~Flamethrower
~Substitute
~Agility
~Focus Blast
Evs:252 Special Attack/244 Speed/12 Hp

Comments: Just like the other set, but special.

Evs: Both sets have 12 Hp so it is divisible by 4. Max Attack and Special Attack for each respective set, and rest in speed.

Hes so much better baton passing, that way when you run into a counter, pass your agility to something that needs it. BP keeps him from being outclassed.

Eh, Blaziken doesn't quite work in the same way Empoleon does at that role since he's a lot less bulky and has weaker STAB (use Flamethrower and HP Grass for more success), but it's still a decent idea, I guess. Speed can be dropped.

Blaziken also isn't immune to sandstorm, or resist the main priority moves...

I mean other starters can work as well

Torterra @ Liechi Berry
Ability: Overgrow
Nature: Adamant
EVs: Attack and Speed
*Seed Bomb
*Stone-Edge / Earthquake
*Substitute
*Rock Polish

Same kind of set. Stone Edge gives the best coverage, provided you remove steels with Magnezone. Should work the same as empoleon, just... weaker.

I know Charizard can do it with Sunny Day and Salac Berry, and often does. Feraligatr could DD and get to Torrent or something, I guess, too. Other than those I don't see who'd be better at it.

Scizor @ Liechi Berry-Adamant: Swarm
~Agility
~Substitute
~X-Scissor
~Brick Break
Evs:252 Attack/212 Speed/44 Hp

Comments: Another one of those sweepers that gets an agility and subs down. Scizor shows great promise in this because he only has one weakness, and plenty of resistances. Also immune to sandstorm.

decent coverage and isn't afraid of double hit,

gyarados laughs at him though, like most scizors

Well, the Scizor set is worse than the other Agility+Sub+Berry sets in the sense that it doesn't have as good of coverage from its two attacks and so is more likely to get walled and not sweep, however the ability to baton pass out into someone else(hopefully a resistance/immunity) really sets it apart. Kinda hard to say just how important that baton pass could be though, cause it all depends on yours and your opponents team.
Also kinda sucks that skarm could just WW him away..

Snorlax @ Leftovers
~Screech
~Pursuit
~Body Slam
~Earthquake
Adamant
Evs: 172 Hp/136 Attack/200 Special Defense

Comments: You screech a pokemon on the switch, and then Pursuit if you think they will switch. The other moves are for coverage. With this set you reach 504 Hp for leftovers recovery, 319 Attack, and 306 Special Defense.

Hmmmm I'm not sure on that Snorlax set. I want to say "so crazy it just might work!" but think about who is coming in on Snorlax--strong fighters/physical attackers like Tyranitar, Heracross, etc. I don't think screech will be forcing any switch-in to snorlax out unfortunately =*(

what's up justin ~ ____o

While I do like the set, Dormin summed up exactly what I was going to say: that most likely your opponent is going to switch in something that immediately threatens Snorlax, like Heracross, and Screech isn't going to do much in that case.

On the other hand, the set looks pretty good for breaking stall -- your opponent switches an opposing wall like Celebi in on a Screech, for example, and is hit hard by Pursuit no matter what they do.

Spikes support would help, too.

Cool idea.

Gallade @ Leftovers
~Thunder Wave
~Wish
~Psycho Cut
~Stone Edge
Careful
Evs:252 Hp/200 Special Defense/56 Attack

Comments: A special wall Gallade! This can survive a Shadow Ball from a Specs Gengar! And then OHKO back with Psycho Cut. Thunder Wave is to hit anything faster that switches in. Psycho Cut and Stone Edge give the best coverage, and Wish is for healing. Pretty cool set if I do say so myself. The Evs give him 340 Hp, 347 Special Defense, and 300 attack.

doesnt look that bad man but I would put something on there to combat Celebi and Cressila. I would most definitely play T-tar or a Pursuiter to get rid of it if you keep it

Close Combat/Night Slash/T-wave/Wish

Ehh, doesn't Close Combat defeat the purpose of a special walling set since it lowers both defenses every time it's used?

I know it'd be an odd choice but perhaps Drain Punch could be an option. While it lacks the raw power of Close Combat, Drain Punch's healing properties are definitely better the defense drops given by the alternative.

Drain Punch is a nice alternative but as you said it lacks power but provdes healing but Wish is kinda better for that. Brick Break is a pretty good alternative as well as it has more PP than Drain Punch.

Anyone recall any interesting Uxie sets here? Possibly have any off the top of their head? I'm looking for alternative natures to Bold and Relaxed.

Gallade doesn't get Wish. Only his female counterpart, Gardevoir, does
