northern European islands have the absolute worst climate
It's never warm, never sunny, but also never cold enough to make these places into a nice winter land. British and Irish isles, Faroe, the baltic sea islands, it's just always cloudy and dew temperatures. that's so ass. even tropical places have mostly nice days where it's not too humid or hot to go around, and desert climates are rather comfortable with some downsides but not much. very cold climates have snow and potential for being snug. imagine living on the faroe, never seeing the sun, never having snow and having this weird, humid yet not warm or really cold weather. ass

you have two seasons in the tropics
Summer and Summer if it was slightly more berable. YOU NEVER SEE THE SNOW. 35 celcius is enough to make you wish you were dead. God forbid it hits 40 or you'll just melt!
The tropics are the 10th layer of hell and Dante didn't include them because he's an Italian who's only concept of heat is burning hot fire

I vaguely remember reading something about one of the leaders of Singapore attributing their success to air conditioning making less hot, humid and miserable.
Never seeing the fucking snow is 100% a positive thing. Fuck snow and everyone who likes it.
I'll take snow over hot summer any day. The cold is so, so, SO much easier to deal with than the heat.

5 days of 90 degree heat in a row just last week btw. massive snowstorm we had to hire a fucking bobcat to clean up two (2) months before that.
one day recently driving around glasgow (already a miserable experience) i shuffled through gorgeous sun, horizontal rain, sleet, hail, back to rain, brief moment of pleasant enough sun, hail, then the cycle began anew. it was like gen 5 ou eh lads xD
I used to unconditionally love snow and cold; my opinions are slightly more complex now that I operate a motor vehicle. That said, I would certainly rather live in a temperate climate where it snows in the winter than live in the tropics. There's lots of things you can do to mitigate cold and melt snow, but your options for heat are pretty limited, and hot/humid weather feels positively vile to me.
