Power Hungry [UU RMT]

I created this team in order to try UU seriously. After trying Azumarill, it seemed to be one of the funnest things to sweep with, and thus this team became focused around it. All of the hard work is intended to be done by Azumarill. The concept here is simple: "Leafeon passes a Swords Dance to Azumarill, good game."

Magmortar @ Life Orb
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 24 Att/252 SpA/232 Spe
Mild nature (+SpA, -Def)
- Cross Chop
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Flamethrower

Magmortar makes for an excellent lead. Almost effortlessly, it rips holes in the opposing team as long as Cross Chop doesn’t miss. It once wore a scarf to outspeed major threats and attempt to OHKO. This is apparently more effective.

Uxie @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/6 Att/252 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SpA)
- Zen Headbutt
- U-Turn
- Thunder Wave
- Stealth Rock

Uxie sets up Stealth Rock reliably and cripples opposing sweepers with Thunder Wave. It also scouts the opposition with U-turn. This slot was once a space for Torterra, which had lots of synergy with the rest of the team at the time.

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP/46 Def/212 SpD
Careful nature (+SpD, -SpA)
- Wish
- Protect
- Seismic Toss
- Heal Bell

Clefable was chosen for being good at its job. It is able to give some greatly needed healing to the other team members. As most of them use Substitute, Wish is in here to heal back the HP that was paid. As most threats are faster than my subbers, Heal Bell is useful to remove Poison, Burn or Paralysis. Clefable appears to be my only stop to Clefable most of the time, usually resulting in stall wars.

Raichu @ Leftovers
Ability: Static
EVs: 6 HP/252 Att/252 Spe
Adamant nature (+Att, -SpA)
- Substitute
- Focus Punch
- Volt Tackle
- Encore

Raichu solves a problem with the team. This is: Azumarill being walled without a Swords Dance boost. This handles most of the Pokémon that do so with double the speed and Volt Tackle. It was once here to also help with Thunder Wave to cripple enemy sweepers, but that job has been relegated to Uxie. Instead, it uses Encore to open chances to set up.

Azumarill @ Leftovers
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 HP/240 Att/18 Spe
Adamant nature (+Att, -SpA)
- Substitute
- Focus Punch
- Waterfall
- Aqua Jet

Azumarill was the intended core of the team. With Huge Power, Azumarill hits a ridiculous base 150 Attack. Further supplemented by its Adamant Nature, Leafeon’s Baton Pass Swords Dance, and both a power move (Focus Punch) and a priority move (Aqua Jet). Azumarill becomes difficult to take down, and it isn’t exaggeration to say that it can sweep unprepared teams while keeping the same substitute up the whole time.

Leafeon @ Salac Berry
Ability: Leaf Guard
EVs: 132 HP/160 Def/216 Spe
Jolly nature (+Spe, -SpA)
- Baton Pass
- Leaf Blade
- Substitute
- Swords Dance

Leafeon solves one last issue with Azumarill’s sweep. Sometimes, 150 base attack isn’t enough, so Leafeon’s job is to double it to 300. Sub on the switch, Swords Dance as they break the sub. Then Baton Pass out to the Pokémon that can best handle the new threat. Whenever this doesn’t work, the sweep suffers. Leafeon is also holding a Salac Berry. This is to stop most things that generally outspeed Azumarill from doing anything significant to stop me.

Using Scyther to B-pass might be a bit tough; although immune to spikes, it loses half its health from stealth rock, so thats a problem; perhaps get a donphan to spin them off? After a sub, your down to 1/4 health, and if someone has aqua jet or something of the sort, you're going to be too weak to pull of a sub anyway. B-passing isn't the easiest thing to do if your not Smeargle...but it seems this is a "High risk, high reward" sort of team. I definitely like your team, and it seems to be pretty unstoppable if your opponent isn't running Raikou when you pass to your Azumarill. Good job with this!

Gligar can make a better passer than Scyther for swords dance. Try taking the pure BP set off of smogon's gliscor analysis

Gligar@Leftovers/Yache Berry
252 HP/252 Spe
Jolly (+Spe, -Spa)
Rock Polish
Swords dance
Taunt
Baton Pass

Thats actually a better idea than mine...this way stealth rock does like nothing anyway, and is affected by no form of spikes. Love your pic of the diglett btw =)

I actually would think leafeon would make a better pass to azumaril as fire and ice attacks (both resisted by azumaril) are the only attacks going to leafeon. She is faster then gligar and can handle her own in the current uu environment I would then replace Torterra with Registeel who could add paralysis support this would allow Raichu to run a anothermove plus he already has static

I was going to have a bunch of long explanations on stuff, like the changes I just made based on your comments, but Firefox crashed.

Anyways, the important part is that the team was updated based on the responses and a bit of common sense.

How in the hell did I miss a UU team with Raichu, Magmortar AND Leafeon.

You have a nice Raichu set. My suggestion is toss Quick attack [to weak] for encore. This gives your team ample time to set up.

Your magmortar lead doesn't need Choice Scarf. (thats just begging for bulky waters to come in)

Use the LO mix set. (The one made by Komodo at C&C)
You lose out on speed, but you still beat a good amount of leads, and almost nothing can switch into you.

I have no problem with changing to the LO mix, but as for Encore...

Encore carries an element of risk that is just too large. I guess I may as well try it, but it really seems like a dangerous move to try.

Quick attack on Raichu is just way to weak. An unstabbed 40 damage move on Raichu (90 base attack) is just to weak. Encore can be used to screw over a large amount pokemon. (SD Venusaur, a roosting Moltres etc)

Don't underestimate it's use!

I'm not underestimating it, all I'm saying is that it's a very risky move that I've seen screw up too many times.

Well if you don't want Encore at least run Grass knot. You can 2HKO pretty much all of the ground types that wall your sets without any significant investments.

I'll see if Encore works out first.

Why not use a Liechi berry on Leafeon?

Placing a Liechi Berry is fairly unnecessary. Aside from a few things that outspeed Azumarill, nothing stands a chance after the pass is successful if I can get the sub up.

So, in short, Salac Berry if anything. Wish heals Leafeon, but Salac if any berry.

Good team, but since your Leafeon will probably be Baton Passing, maybe it doesn't need as much attack evs and maybe more defense evs so the opponent won't break your sub so easily? Other than that, a pretty solid team.

Testing shows that Raichu is not working nearly as well as expected. It's actually been quite useless, aside for taking out the odd Water-type. here and there.

Can anything else fill in its slot? I'm thinking something to hit whatever walls Azumarril. Milotic tends to do this, as Waterfall doesn't do enough even after a Swords Dance, and I can only get the Substitute up BEFORE it comes in.

Hi,

Why not try out an NP Toxicroak? Annoying Milotics now turn into set-up bait, and with Vacuum Wave for STAB priority Toxicroak becomes hard to take down after a boost:

Toxicroak@Life Orb
252 Sp Atk, 252 Spe, 4 HP
- Nasty Plot
- Vacuum Wave
- Sludge Bomb
- Focus Blast/ Dark Pulse

This is a nice team, well done.
