[OVERVIEW]
With a stellar Water / Fairy typing, a great Special Attack, and good Special Defense, Primarina proves itself to be a prevalent threat in the 1v1 metagame. Its typing is useful for both defensive and offensive purposes, as it enables it to take on many of the tier's most prevalent Water-, Fire-, and Dragon-type Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados, Mega Charizard X, and Kommo-o as well as Ground- and Rock-type Pokemon such as Donphan and Crustle. Very few type combinations resist both Fairy- and Water-type moves, allowing Primarina's high-Base Power STAB moves in Oceanic Operetta and Moonblast to hit most of the metagame neutrally. Primarina can forego Special Attack investment to invest in its Defense to survive powerful hits such as Tectonic Rage from Landorus-T, as it already has enough power with its STAB moves. Access to priority in Aqua Jet allows Primarina to beat Sturdy Pokemon and pick off weakened Pokemon. Access to Encore also allows it to beat passive Pokemon like Mega Slowbro. Although Primarina faces competition from Tapu Fini, it can offer more power and utility with Oceanic Operetta and Encore. However, Primarina is weak to common Grass-, Electric-, and Poison-types such as Mega Venusaur, Zeraora, and Naganadel. Also, Primarina has no way of boosting its power, so it can fall prey to bulky setup Pokemon like Meloetta and Magearna and powerful nukes such as Breakneck Blitz from Porygon-Z.

Moves
========

Sparkling Aria becomes Oceanic Operetta with Primarium Z, which has an astounding 195 Base Power. Sparkling Aria also goes through Substitute, which is helpful against common Pokemon like Mega Lopunny and Mega Blaziken. Waterium Z with Hydro Cannon can be used for the extra 5 Base Power over Oceanic Operetta as well as more immediate power to 2HKO opposing Pokemon more easily. However, it loses Sparkling Aria's ability to go through Substitute and requires a recharge turn afterwards. Moonblast is mostly used when the foe resists Water and is weak to Fairy, such as against Mega Gyarados and Haxorus. This is because a neutral Oceanic Operetta still does more damage than a super effective Moonblast. However, if Oceanic Operetta does not OHKO the foe, Moonblast is the preferred move of choice. Aqua Jet is a useful STAB priority move that can get boosted by Torrent to finish off Pokemon that manage to survive Primarina's primary STAB moves, such as Garchomp, Genesect, and Sturdy Pokemon. Aqua Jet can also be used to evade certain strategies, such as Mirror Coat from Avalugg. Substitute is used to guarantee Torrent's boost against Pokemon that do not already put Primarina into Torrent range, such as Mega Metagross and Zygarde. It can also be used to evade status from slower Pokemon such as Pyukumuku and Aron. Encore is used to defeat certain setup or stall Pokemon, such as locking Mega Gyarados into Dragon Dance and Mega Slowbro into Calm Mind or Amnesia.

Set Details
========

240 HP EVs and maximum Defense investment are required in order to be able to survive powerful hits from physical attackers such as Tectonic Rage followed by Sucker Punch from Golem, Poison Jab from Choice Band Haxorus, and Fake Out followed by Giga Impact from Mega Lopunny. The 16 Special Defense EVs ensure that Download users like Genesect do not receive a Special Attack boost. Special Attack investment is not necessary, as Primarina already has decent Special Attack. Torrent is an amazing ability that boosts Primarina's Water-type moves to insane levels when at or below 1/3 max HP, which can be manipulated with Substitute. This boost is commonly triggered by Pokemon that fail to OHKO Primarina, such as Choice Specs Meloetta and Choice Specs Magearna. 0 Speed IVs with a negative Speed nature allow Primarina to not automatically lose to Aegislash by giving Primarina a chance to attack it in its vulnerable Blade forme. If running Substitute, it is better to run Bold over Relaxed with 31 Speed IVs to allow Primarina to set up Substitute before slower Pokemon like minimum Speed Aegislash, Mega Mawile, and Mega Aggron.

Usage Tips
========

Primarina does well against most Pokemon that have STAB moves it resists or that it hits super effectively, namely Dragon-, Fire-, Ground-, Rock-, Dark-, and Fighting-type Pokemon. It also fares well against top-tier Pokemon like Mega Charizard X, Mega Gyarados, Mega Lopunny, Kommo-o, and all Sturdy Pokemon besides Magnezone. With Encore, it also aptly handles Mega Slowbro, and with Substitute, it takes on Mega Metagross and Mega Mawile. Most of the time, you can simply use the appropriate STAB move to OHKO opposing Pokemon or finish them off with Aqua Jet afterwards. For passive, slower Pokemon such as Mega Slowbro, attack as usual on Turn 1, and then after they use a setup move, use Encore to prevent them from switching moves. In this case, repeatedly use Encore on them on the appropriate turns to ensure that they cannot retaliate. For some Pokemon that do not put Primarina into Torrent range, it can be better to use Substitute rather than attack. For example, against bulky Mega Metagross, it is better to use Substitute first to trigger Torrent and then OHKO it with Torrent-boosted Oceanic Operetta. Against Pokemon that run Metal Burst, such as specially defensive Mega Mawile and Mega Aggron, it is wiser to use Moonblast first before firing off Oceanic Operetta so as not to get OHKOed.

Team Options
========

Grass-type Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Kartana and Fire-type Pokemon such as Mega Charizard X and Incineroar are good teammates for Primarina, as they cover each other's threats. Ferrothorn and Kartana can handle the Electric- and Water- Pokemon that trouble Primarina such as Zeraora and Tapu Fini, while Mega Charizard X and Incineroar defeat Grass- and Steel-types such as Mega Venusaur and Magearna, and Primarina takes care of Fire- and Dragon- types like Mega Charizard X and Haxorus. Physical attackers such as Zeraora and Mega Metagross help in breaking specially defensive Pokemon such as Meloetta and Chansey, while Primarina takes care of physically defensive Pokemon such as Sturdy users. Fighting-type Pokemon such as Sawk and Mega Blaziken are able to cover the Steel-types that bother Primarina such as Kartana and Magearna, while Primarina can take out Pokemon that threaten them like Donphan and Golem.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Primarina can run a fairly viable Choice Specs set with wide coverage options in Hydro Cannon, Sparkling Aria, Moonblast, Hidden Power Fire, Psychic, Shadow Ball, Icy Wind, Ice Beam, and Energy Ball. This allows it to beat Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Mega Swampert but loses out on the utility that the bulky Primarium Z set brings with the option of switching moves, meaning that it will be unable to reliably check Sturdy Pokemon like Carracosta, Crustle, and Sawk. A Fairium Z set with Baby-Doll Eyes can ease the matchup versus some physical attackers or allow Primarina to use Twinkle Tackle. This can be helpful against Pokemon such as Gyarados, Zygarde, and physical Dragonite but leaves Primarina unable to blast through Pokemon such as Mega Mawile. A Quiet nature can be used over Relaxed if power is preferred over bulk to ensure OHKOs on Pokemon such as maximum HP Mega Mawile; however, this may leave Primarina vulnerable to some of the physical threats it used to check.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Attacker with Super Effective Moves**: Pokemon who have an offensive type advantage over Primarina such as Kartana, Tapu Bulu, Electrium Z Zeraora, Magnezone, and Choice Specs Naganadel easily outspeed and OHKO Primarina before it can even land a hit.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Pokemon like Tapu Fini, Tapu Lele, and Chansey have naturally high Special Defense, preventing Primarina from posing any threat.

**Powerful Wallbreakers**: Flyinium Z Dragonite, Choice Band Hoopa-U with Gunk Shot, Mega Heracross with Bullet Seed, and Choice Specs Porygon-Z are some of the Pokemon that can OHKO Primarina with their overwhelming offenses.

**Defensive Typing Advantage**: Mega Venusaur, Ferrothorn, and Volcanion can whittle Primarina down while taking little damage. However, Ferrothorn can be lured and taken out with a Choice Specs set with Hidden Power Fire.

**Special Defense-boosting Pokemon**: Pokemon that can boost their Special Defense such as Magearna, Necrozma, Deoxys-S, Mew, Mega Gardevoir, and Meloetta prevent Primarina from OHKOing them and are able to either stall Primarina's PP or take it out after boosting up. As these Pokemon are naturally faster than Primarina, they do not fear being locked into a move by Encore.

[OVERVIEW]
  • With a stellar Water / Fairy typing and high (above-average) stats, in particular a spectacular base 126 Special Attack, Primarina proves itself to be a prevalent threat in the 1v1 metagame. You should say great SpA, good SpD.
  • High Base Powered STAB moves allow it blast through most of the tier unresisted. Such as? Give examples otherwise it's just a general statement. (Helpful against Groundium Z and Band Garchomp)
  • Access to priority in Aqua Jet allow Primarina to beat Sturdy Pokemon. And also in picking up weakened Pokemon that are faster. 8 SpA Primarina Oceanic Operetta vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Garchomp: 295-348 (91.9 - 108.4%) -- 50% chance to OHKO | 0 Atk Primarina Aqua Jet vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Garchomp: 36-43 (10 - 12%) -- possible 9HKO | +1 252 Atk Garchomp Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Primarina: 213-252 (58.6 - 69.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
  • Its typing is useful for both defensive and offensive purposes, as it resists or is immune to many of the tier’s most prevalent types in Water-, Fire-, and Dragon-type moves (Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados, both Charizard formes.
  • Despite having a less than optimal Speed stat, Primarina makes up for this with its decent 80 / 74 / 116 bulk, which allows it to tank most neutral hits. Again about the stats.
  • Even with a low Defense stat, Primarina can forego Special Attack investment to invest in its Defense, as it already has enough power with its high Base-powered STAB moves. Say decent def in consistency with the above sentence and just say that with Def investment it can survive powerful hits like Z TArrows.
  • (While Primarina has the same typing as Tapu Fini, and is slower and has arguably less bulk, Primarina’s niche lies in the fact that it has access to Encore which beats passive Pokemon like Slowbro, and an extremely powerful nuke in the form of Z-Hydro Cannon/Z-Sparkling Aria, that allows it to OHKO threats such as Mega-Charizard-Y and Mega-Mawile, which Tapu Fini would have trouble doing. Primarina also learns a priority move in the form of Aqua Jet, which allows it to more easily beat Sturdy Pokemon such as Carracosta and Crustle.) You don't need to put this in parentheses. Mention Z-Hydro Cannon in Other Options.
  • Talk about the weaknesses in SE moves and resists like Kartana and Mega Venusaur, other powerful Pokemon like Specs Pz and bulky Pokemon that tank it.

Moves
========
  • Sparkling Aria becomes Oceanic Operetta with Primarium Z, which has an astounding 195 Base Power.
  • Sparkling Aria goes through Substitute, and does not require a turn to recharge afterwards. Combine the two statements and no need to mention recharge if there's no Hydro Cannon. Also mention the examples of Pokemon it can get and where in particular is going through Sub useful such as against Sub Bulk Up Landorus-T.
  • Moonblast is there solely to be used when the opponent resists Water, as a neutral Oceanic Operetta still does more damage than a Super Effective Moonblast. You can explictly mention hitting Dragon and Dark types with examples like Haxrous and (Mega) Gyarados as thats important
  • Aqua Jet is a fantastic STAB priority move that gets boosted by Torrent to finish off Pokemon that manage to survive Primarina’s Special Moves. Note that it doesn't always gets boosted by Torrent like in the case against Garchomp, say mostly
  • Using Substitute or Encore at the right time in order to trigger Primarina’s Torrent can be invaluable to ensure KOs. Like when? A good example could be Zard Y (when uses something other than Solar Beam to avoid Primarina into getting the Torrent boost like Substitute or a weaker move). Likewise give more info on Substitute. This has been better given in Usage Tips but give info so that the players know if Sub or Encore would fit better on their team. The current statement doesnt describe the move actually and should be moved to Usage Tips.
  • Encore can also be used to defeat certain set-up or stall Pokemon, such as locking Mega-Gyarados into Dragon Dance, or Slowbro (regardless of Mega) into Calm Mind.

    Set Details

  • Max HP and Defense is required in order to be able to survive powerful neutral hits from Physical Attackers such as +1 Tectonic Rage/Groundium Z/ Z-Thousand Arrows Zygarde, Z-Earthquake into/and Sucker Punch from Golem and Poison Jab from Choice Band Haxorus.
  • As mentioned before, Special Attack investment is not necessary as Primarina already has decent Special Attack.
  • Torrent is an amazing ability that boosts Primarina’s Water-type moves to insane levels when at or below 1/3 Max HP, that can be manipulated with Substitute.
  • State 0 Speed IVs with Relaxed (and why Bold?) nature being required for underspeeding (or having a chance to) Aegislash for letting it hit Aegislash in the Blade forme.

  • Primarina does well vs most Pokemon it resists or is super effective against, eg any Dragon-, Fire-, Ground-, Rock-, Dark-, Fighting- Pokemon. Top-tier Pokemon that it fares well against are: all Sturdy Pokemon (Golem, Donphan (except Banded Gunk Shot), Crustle, Carracosta, Sawk), both Charizard formes, Mega Gyarados, most Fighting-types like Lopunny and Kommo-o, most Steel-types like Metagross, Aggron and Mega-Mawile. I don't think you should mention Band Gunk Shot Donphan as it's not that useful.
  • In Battle:
  • Most of the time, you can simply use the appropriate STAB move (Oceanic Operetta or Moonblast) to OHKO opponents, or finish them off with Aqua Jet afterwards.
  • For passive Pokemon such as Slowbro, attack as usual on Turn 1, and then after they use a set-up move, use Encore to prevent them from switching moves.

  • Against Pokemon that run Metal Burst, such as Mega Mawile and Mega Aggron, it is usually wiser to Moonblast first before firing off Oceanic Operetta, so as not to get OHKOd by Metal Burst.

    Team Options
    ========

  • Grass- and Fire-type Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Kartana, and Mega-Charizard-X and Incineroar, can form a strong Fire-Water-Grass core that covers each others’ checks soundly. Expand this a bit more and give specific examples, might as well split up but leave that for now.
  • Physical Attackers such as Dragonite and Zeraora also help in breaking Specially defensive Pokemon such as Meloetta and Chansey.
  • Fighting-type Pokemon such as Sawk and Mega Lopunny are able to cover the Steel types that bother Primarina. For example?
  • You can also talk about how Primarina helps these Pokemon as well.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options

  • A Fairium Z set with Baby Doll Eyes can ease the matchup versus some Physical attackers, or for a Z-boosted Moonblast.
  • Add in more about it in how would these sets be useful over the normal Primarium Z set and what are their limitations with examples. Also add in Z Hydro Cannon.

**Pokemon that resist Primarina’s STAB moves**: Mega Venusaur, Ferrothorn, Volcanion, and Empoleon (Not that important) can whittle Primarina down while taking little damage.

**Special Defense Boosting Pokemon**: Pokemon that can boost their Special Defense such as Magearna, Necrozma, Deoxys-S, Mew, Gardevoir-Mega and Meloetta prevent Primarina from being to OHKO them, and are able to either stall Primarina’s PP, or take it out after boosting up.

  • Sparkling Aria becomes Oceanic Operetta with Primarium Z, which has an astounding 195 Base Power. It also goes through Substitute, which is helpful against common Substitute users like Landorus-Therian.
  • Moonblast is solely to be used when the opponent resists Water, as a neutral Oceanic Operetta still does more damage than a Super Effective Moonblast, in cases such as against Mega Gyarados and Haxorus.
  • Aqua Jet is a fantastic useful (It is not a "fantastic STAB, per se; it just has its uses) STAB priority move that can get boosted by Torrent to finish off Pokemon that manage to survive Primarina’s Special Moves, such as against most Garchomp.
  • Using Substitute or Encore at the right time in order to trigger Primarina’s Torrent can be invaluable to ensure KOs.

Set Details
========
  • Max HP and Defense is required in order to be able to survive powerful neutral hits from Physical Attackers such as +1 Z-Thousand Arrows Zygarde(Do you beat it in return, though? Can't it just Coil->Z-1000A->1000A/ESpeed while tanking OO+Sparkling Aria or w/e), Z-Earthquake and Sucker Punch from Golem and Poison Jab from Choice Band Haxorus.
  • Special Attack investment is not necessary as Primarina already has decent Special Attack.
  • Torrent is an amazing ability that boosts Primarina’s Water-type moves to insane levels when at or below 1/3 Max HP, that can be manipulated with Substitute (Against which Pokemon is Torrent necessary?).
  • 0 Speed IVs with a negative Speed Nature allows Primarina to underspeed or at least speed-tie with Aegislash, which allows it to attack Aegislash in its vulnerable Blade Forme.
  • Quiet can be used over Relaxed if power is preferred over bulk, to ensure OHKOs on some Pokemon such as Max HP Mega Mawile. (Since Primarina is minimum Speed, doesn't Mawile-Mega attack Primarina into Torrent range, anyway?)

Usage Tips
========
  • Primarina does well against most Pokemon it resists or is super effective against, eg any Dragon-, Fire-, Ground-, Rock-, Dark-, Fighting- Pokemon. Top-tier Pokemon that it fares well against are: all most Sturdy Pokemon (Golem, Donphan, Crustle, Carracosta, Sawk), both Charizard formes, Mega Gyarados, most Fighting-types like Mega Lopunny and Kommo-o, and most Steel-types like Metagross, Aggron and Mega Mawile.
  • In this case, repeatedly Encore them on the appropriate turns to ensure that they cannot retaliate to achieve victory.
  • For some Pokemon that do not put Primarina into Torrent range, it can be better to use Encore or Substitute rather than attack.
  • For example against bulky Mega Metagross, it is better to Substitute first to trigger Torrent, and then OHKO with Torrent-boosted Oceanic Operetta.
  • If running Encore, in situations where you predict the foe to use a weak move to avoid putting you in Torrent range, you can lock them into that move to give Primarina free hits on the opponent.
  • For example, If you predict a Mega Charizard Y to Air Slash rather than Solar Beam, to ensure that you are in Torrent range, use Encore to lock Mega Charizard Y into Air Slash.
  • Against Pokemon that run Metal Burst, such as Specially Bulky Mega Mawile and Mega Aggron, it is usually wiser to Moonblast first before firing off Oceanic Operetta, so as not to get OHKOd by Metal Burst.
  • (Maybe add a line about how to handle Mirror Coat users like Avalugg, and also add a line or two about where you wouldn't want the reader to send Primarina)

Team Options
========
  • Grass- and Fire-type Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Kartana, and Mega Charizard X and Incineroar, can form a strong Fire-Water-Grass core that covers each others’ checks soundly. Ferrothorn and Kartana can handle the Electric- and Water- Pokemon that trouble Primarina such as Tapu Fini and Zeraora, Mega Charizard X and Incineroar defeat the Grass- and Steel-types such as Venusaur and Magearna, and Primarina takes care of the Fire- and Dragon- types like Mega Charizard X and Haxorus. (Team Options, contrary to what it seems to suggest, is about suggesting teammates, so try to develop teammates and not teams)
  • A Steel-Fairy-Dragon core can also be utilised with Primarina, as these types have great synergy with one another. (Same as the previous point; don't develop "teams", develop teammates)
  • Physical Attackers such as Dragonite and Zeraora help in breaking Specially defensive Pokemon such as Meloetta and Chansey, while Primarina takes care of the Physically bulky Pokemon such as Landorus-Therian and Mega Slowbro.
  • Fighting-type Pokemon such as Sawk and Mega Lopunny are able to cover the Steel-types that bother Primarina such as Kartana, while Primarina can take out Pokemon that threaten them like Donphan and Golem. (To this effect, I'd say Mega Blaziken is a better teammate, coz it can handle Magearna and the rare Grassium Z Heatran that troubles Primarina)

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=============
  • Primarina can run a fairly viable Choice Specs set with wide coverage options in Hydro Cannon, Sparkling Aria, Moonblast, Hidden Power Fire, Psychic, Shadow Ball, Ice Beam and Energy Ball(From experience using it, it needs Icy Wind more than Ice Beam to reliably beat GolPhan, and also have a chance of beating Dragonite). This allows it to beat Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Mega Swampert, but loses out on the utility that the bulky Primarium set brings with the option of switching moves, and also loses to Sturdy Pokemon like Carracosta, Crustle and Sawk.
  • A Fairium Z set with Baby Doll Eyes can ease the matchup versus some Physical attackers, or for a Z-boosted Moonblast. This can be helpful against Pokemon such as Gyarados and Physical Dragonite, but is unable to blast through Pokemon such as Mega Mawile and Mega Charizard Y.
  • Waterium Z with Hydro Cannon can be used for the extra 5 Base Power over Oceanic Operetta, however it is usually not worth it as Sparkling Aria goes through Substitute and does not require a recharge turn afterwards.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Super Effective STAB Pokemon**: Pokemon who have an offensive type advantage over Primarina such as Kartana, Tapu Bulu, Electrium Z Zeraora, Magnezone, Kartana, Tapu Bulu and Choice Specs Naganadel easily outspeed and OHKO Primarina before it can even land a hit.

**Pokemon that resist Primarina’s STAB moves**: Mega Venusaur, Ferrothorn, and Volcanion can whittle Primarina down while taking little damage. However, Ferrothorn and Mega Venusaur can be lured with a Choice Specs set with Hidden Power Fire and Psychic.. (2 Giga Drains or Sludge Bombs finish Primarina off, so don't include this example, and removed one period)

Wow, great analysis, done full justice to it. Just one thing to bear in mind is that in Team Options, you should just suggest teammates which do well with Primarina, and not teams where Primarina can fit in. Kudos!!

Heyo. Love Primarina tbh

Bolded is additions, strikethrough is stuff that should be removed, underline needs to be edited in some way, red is comments. All information I bring are based on 1630 Usage stats and Calcs.

Primarina is unfortunately inconsistent with Mega Char Y, as they can air slash turn one, live oceanic, then solarbeam for the kill. Even with sub, its a 50/50, as solarbeam turn one will do just enough to not allow you to sub
  • Very few type combinations resist both Fairy- and Water-type moves, allowing Primarina’s High Base Powered STAB moves of Oceanic Operetta and Moonblast allow it blast through most of the tier unresisted.
  • Primarina can forego Special Attack investment to invest in its Defense to survive powerful hits such as Tectonic Rage from Landorus-Therian 252+ Atk Landorus-Therian Tectonic Rage (180 BP) vs. 212 HP / 252+ Def Primarina: 306-360 (86.4 - 101.6%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO, either change statement or fix EVs, as it already has enough power with its high Base-powered STAB moves.
  • Access to priority in Aqua Jet allows Primarina to beat Sturdy Pokemon and picking off weakened Pokemon that are faster.
  • While Primarina has the same typing as Tapu Fini, and is slower and has arguably less bulk, Primarina’s niche lies in the fact that it has access to Encore which beats passive Pokemon like Mega Slowbro, and an extremely powerful nuke in the form of Oceanic Operetta which alongside its ability Torrent, allows it to OHKO threats such as Mega Charizard Y and Mega Mawile, which Tapu Fini would have trouble doing. Primarina also learns a priority move in the form of Aqua Jet, which allows it to more easily beat Sturdy Pokemon such as Carracosta and Crustle. Focus less on how it compares to fini. You can definitely mention it, just no need to go super in depth about how fini works, since this is Prima's analysis. Something as simple as "It faces competition from Fini, but can offer more power and utility in Encore" Also, previously mentioned inconsistency with Primarina vs Mega Char Y, also you already discussed Aqua Jet, no need to reiterate. I would also move the bit about Oceanic Operetta and what it OHKOes to the section where you mention powerful stab moves, just make this bullet point about Encore and other utility options.
  • Primarina is weak to common Grass-, Electric- and Poison-types such as Mega Venusaur, Naganadel and Zeraora.
  • Also, Primarina has no way of boosting itself, and so can fall prey to bulky set up Pokemon like Meloetta and Magearna, and powerful nukes such as Choice Specs Porygon-Z Hyper Beam.

Moves
========
  • Sparkling Aria becomes Oceanic Operetta with Primarium Z, which has an astounding 195 Base Power. It Sparkling Aria also goes through Substitute, which is helpful against common Substitute users like Landorus-Therian add some more examples.
  • Moonblast is solely to be used when the opponent resists Water, as a neutral Oceanic Operetta still does more damage than a Super Effective Moonblast, in cases such as against Mega Gyarados and Haxorus. move "in cases...haxorus" before you mention that Oceanic Operetta does more than super eff moonblast, so it is clearer that you need to moonblast those two
  • Aqua Jet is a useful STAB priority move that can get boosted by Torrent to finish off Pokemon that manage to survive Primarina’s Special Moves, such as against most bulky Garchomp add some more examples if u can. Aqua Jet can also be used to evade certain strategies, such as Mirror Coat Avalugg.
  • Aqua Jet can also be used to evade certain strategies, such as Mirror Coat Avalugg. Since this relates to Aqua Jet, move it into the AJ bullet point
  • Using Substitute or Encore at the right time in order to trigger Primarina’s Torrent can be invaluable to ensure KOs. You already talk about subs use in activating torrent in the next bullet point, and the primary purpose of encore isn't to activate torrent.
  • Substitute is used to guarantee Torrent’s boost against opponents that do not already put Primarina into Torrent range, such as against bulky Mega Metagross. Mention avoiding status conditions from pokemon like Pyukumuku, Fear aron, slow stuff like that
  • Encore is used to defeat certain set-up or stall Pokemon, such as locking Mega Gyarados into Dragon Dance, or Mega Slowbro (regardless of Mega) That doesn't really mean anything to someone who doesn't understand how Mega Slowbro works in relation to taunt, less confusing to not mention it into Calm Mind or Amnesia.

Set Details
========
  • Max HP and Defense you're not running max hp and defense, list the specific EVs and nature put in to it is required in order to be able to survive powerful neutral hits from Physical Attackers such as Z-Earthquake and Sucker Punch from Golem and Poison Jab from Choice Band Haxorus.
  • Special Attack investment is not necessary as Primarina already has decent Special Attack. The remaining 44 EVs are put into Special Attack in order to make sure Primarina can hit as hard as possible This gives more info on the set, less vague terms like "decent special attack", which means different things to different people
  • Torrent is an amazing ability that boosts Primarina’s Water-type moves to insane levels when at or below 1/3 Max HP, that can be manipulated with Substitute. How can it be manipulated? Go into short detail. Also mention how Bulky Primarina will be put into Torrent range by [list Pokemon that do so]
  • 0 Speed IVs with a negative Speed Nature allows Primarina to underspeed or at least speed-tie with not autolose to Aegislash, which allows it to attack Aegislash in its vulnerable Blade Forme.
  • Quiet can be used over Relaxed if power is preferred over bulk, to ensure OHKOs on some Pokemon such as Max HP Mega Mawile, however this may leave Primarina vulnerable to some of the physical threats it used to check. Put this whole bullet point in Other Options, it's effectively a completely different set

Usage Tips
========
  • Primarina does well against most Pokemon it resists or is super effective against, eg any most Dragon-, Fire-, Ground-, Rock-, Dark-, Fighting- Pokemon. Top-tier Pokemon that it fares well against are: all Sturdy Pokemon besides Magnezone, both Charizard formes Mega Charizard X, Mega Gyarados, most Fighting-types like Jolly Mega Lopunny and Kommo-o, and most Steel-types like Metagross, Aggron and Mega Mawile.
  • Most of the time, you can simply use the appropriate STAB move (Oceanic Operetta or Moonblast) to OHKO opponents, or finish them off with Aqua Jet afterwards.
  • For passive Pokemon such as Mega Slowbro, attack as usual on Turn 1, and then after they use a set-up move, use Encore to prevent them from switching moves.
  • In this case, repeatedly Encore them on the appropriate turns to ensure that they cannot retaliate to achieve victory. combine into preceding bullet point
  • For some Pokemon that do not put Primarina into Torrent range, it can be better to use Encore or Substitute rather than attack.
  • For example against bulky Mega Metagross, it is better to Substitute first to trigger Torrent, and then OHKO with Torrent-boosted Oceanic Operetta. combine into preceding bullet point
  • If running Encore, in situations where you predict the foe to use a weak move to avoid putting you in Torrent range, you can lock them into that move to give Primarina free hits on the opponent.
  • For example, if you predict a Mega Charizard Y to Air Slash rather than Solar Beam, Encore them into Air Slash to ensure that you will be in Torrent range. This type of usage of Encore is in essence a 50/50 every time, and while predictions is necessary in Pokemon, it definitely isn't the type of reliable and consistent matchups that belong on an analysis.
  • Go in depth about how to use Encore against faster opponents, when it's a reliable/consistent matchup
  • Against Pokemon that run Metal Burst, such as Specially Bulky Mega Mawile and Mega Aggron, it can be wiser to Moonblast first before firing off Oceanic Operetta, so as not to get OHKOd by Metal Burst.

Team Options
========
  • Grass- and Fire-type Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Kartana, and Mega Charizard X and Incineroar, are some examples of good teammates for Primarina, as they cover each others' threats. Ferrothorn and Kartana can handle the Electric- and Water- Pokemon that trouble Primarina such as Tapu Fini and Zeraora, Mega Charizard X and Incineroar defeat the Grass- and Steel-types such as Mega Venusaur and Magearna, and Primarina takes care of the Fire- and Dragon- types like Mega Charizard X and Haxorus.
  • Physical Attackers such as Dragonite and Zeraora help in breaking Specially defensive Pokemon such as Meloetta and Chansey, while Primarina takes care of the Physically bulky Pokemon such as Landorus-Therian and Mega Slowbro.
  • Fighting-type Pokemon such as Sawk and Mega Blaziken are able to cover the Steel-types that bother Primarina such as Kartana and Magearna, while Primarina can take out Pokemon that threaten them like Donphan and Golem.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=============
  • Primarina can run a fairly viable Choice Specs set with wide coverage options in Hydro Cannon, Sparkling Aria, Moonblast, Hidden Power Fire, Psychic, Shadow Ball, Icy Wind Icy Wind Choice Specs? I don't think that's going to beat anything. Why not Ice Beam? and Energy Ball. This allows it to beat Pokemon such as Mega Charizard Y, Ferrothorn and Mega Swampert and possibly what type of Dragonite does it beat? Dragonite, but loses out on the utility that the bulky Primarium set brings with the option of switching moves, meaning that it will be unable to reliably check Sturdy Pokemon like Carracosta, Crustle and Sawk.
  • A Fairium Z set with Baby Doll Eyes can ease the matchup versus some Physical attackers, or for a Z-boosted Moonblast. This can be helpful against Pokemon such as Gyarados and Physical Dragonite, but is unable to blast through Pokemon such as Mega Mawile and Mega Charizard Y. as normal bulky prima can't blast through Char y
  • Waterium Z with Hydro Cannon can be used for the extra 5 Base Power over Oceanic Operetta, however it is usually not worth it as Sparkling Aria goes through Substitute and does not require a recharge turn afterwards. Move this from OO to moves, the qc team discussed this and we think z-hydro cannon and oceanic operetta are similar enough that they can be put together. so it'll look something like this:
name: Bulky Z
move 1: Sparkling Aria / Hydro Cannon
move 2: Moonblast
move 3: Aqua Jet
move 4: Encore / Substitute
item: Primarium Z / Waterium Z
ability: Torrent
nature: Relaxed
evs: 212 HP / 252 Def / 44 SpA
ivs: 0 Spe
and then include the bullet point for hydro under sparkling

Checks and Counters
===================
**Super Effective STAB Pokemon**: Pokemon who have an offensive type advantage over Primarina such as Kartana, Tapu Bulu, Electrium Z Zeraora, Magnezone and Choice Specs Naganadel easily outspeed and OHKO Primarina before it can even land a hit.

**Naturally Specially Bulky Pokemon**: Pokemon like Tapu Fini, Tapu Lele, Celesteela and Chansey have naturally high Special Defense, preventing it from posing any threat.

**Powerful Wallbreakers**: Flyinium Z Dragonite, Flyinium Z Gyarados extremely rare, wouldn't mention, Choice Band Hoopa-Unbound with Gunk Shot, Mega-Heracross with Bullet Seed and Choice Specs Porygon Z are some of the Pokemon that either boost their offenses before OHKOing, or just flat out blow it away.

**Pokemon that resist Primarina’s STAB moves**: Mega Venusaur, Ferrothorn, and Volcanion can whittle Primarina down while taking little damage. However, Ferrothorn can be lured with a Choice Specs set with Hidden Power Fire.

**Special Defense Boosting Pokemon**: Pokemon that can boost their Special Defense such as Magearna, Necrozma, Deoxys-S, Mew, Mega Gardevoir-Mega and Meloetta prevent Primarina from being to OHKO them, and are able to either stall Primarina’s PP, or take it out after boosting up.

Thanks TDA! Implemented mostly everything. I changed my set back to what i had originally which was Max HP and Def, allows it to tank Landorus-T guaranteed and also Adamant Mega Lopunny (252+ Atk Lopunny-Mega Fake Out vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Primarina: 66-78 (18.1 - 21.4%) -- possible 5HKO) AND (252+ Atk Lopunny-Mega Giga Impact vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Primarina: 243-286 (66.7 - 78.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO) results in a very slight possible MAX roll of 78+286 = 364 (100%)...which should be fine right?
Added Waterium Z to the main set.
I've put both Icy Wind and Ice Beam there, Icy Wind was a move that WoA suggested to better handle Donphan and Golem, and possibly slow down Dragonite. Ice Beam I suppose beats Zygarde.
Also took out the bit about Encore triggering Torrent, because outside of Charizard Y it doesn't really have any use with Torrent, because faster Pokemon either set up Calm Mind vs it, have Z moves that bypass Encore, or run Taunt.

Since primarina still doesn't guaranteed beat adamant mega lopunny with max bulk, and adamant mega lopunny only has around 10% usage, i would run 240 HP / 252 Def / 16 Spa with Relaxed Nature so you can get slightly more spa, still guaranteed beat Adamant Landorus-T, and mostly beat adamant lopunny when it does show up. Also when talking about Waterium I would avoid language like "usually not worth it" and replace it with something less biased with something like "however it loses the benefit Sparkling Aria has with going through sub and now requires a recharge after Hydro Cannon is used", something not outright saying its bad but still listing why one may not want to use it. Also, mention in Waterium that Z-Hydro Cannon makes 2HKOs easier, as you can Z into regular hydro.

After those changes are implemented, be sure to make it 2/3

powerful nukes such as Choice Specs Porygon-Z Hyper Beam.
Perhaps cite the more relevant example of Z-Hyper Beam from Porygon instead.

Moonblast is solely to be used when the opponent resists Water but not Fairy, such as against Mega Gyarados and Haxorus.
Neutral Moonblast also hits harder and has a 30% SPA drop with it. Good for when you're not in Torrent range vs mons that will bulk a Z move and are neutral to both typings.

Do this but put it into spdef, not SPA for genesect..

Substitute is used to guarantee Torrent’s boost against opponents that do not already put Primarina into Torrent range, such as against bulky Mega Metagross.
Any Metagross, not just Bulky. Also mention Zygarde, as it will bulk a Groundium Z and after sub will be in Torrent range and able to OHKO. It guarentees beating Zygarde (as long as theyre not 252 adamant + Z-Earthquake)

Aqua Jet is a useful STAB priority move that can get boosted by Torrent to finish off Pokemon that manage to survive Primarina’s Special Moves, such as against Garchomp, and Genesect.
Probably the most important is Golem, Donphan, Crustle, and Sawk (just say sturdy users), so add these to the list.

Max HP and Defense is required in order to be able to survive powerful neutral hits, as well as non-STAB Super Effective moves from Physical Attackers such as Z-Earthquake into Sucker Punch from Golem and Poison Jab from Choice Band Haxorus
Cite perhaps the most important thing it lives, Lopunny.

Top-tier Pokemon that it fares well against are: all Sturdy Pokemon besides Magnezone, Mega Charizard X, Mega Gyarados, most Fighting-types like Mega Lopunny and Kommo-o, and most Steel-types like Metagross, Aggron and Mega Mawile.
It really only fares well against these two bolded when it has Substitute. Spdef Mburst Mawile is becoming a thing. Make a note of this.

Icy Wind aids in slowing down opponents to potentially get a second hit in, such as against Dragonite and Zygarde without Dragon Dance.
Icy Win essentially requires its own separate set with a bit of speed and quite a bit of physical bulk so that it can outspeed Dragonite and Zygarde after one Icy Wind and live hits. Please note this.

Physical Attackers such as Dragonite and Zeraora help in breaking Specially defensive Pokemon such as Meloetta and Chansey, while Primarina takes care of the Physically bulky Pokemon such as Landorus-Therian and Mega Slowbro.
A bit picky but you should make sure your Physical attackers don't counter the physically bulky pokemon that Prim beats, and also Slowbro is only beaten with encore, which is an optional part of your set. Dragonite also isn't always Physical, and is sometimes special, so it would be a good idea to change that to something else, perhaps Haxorus.

**Naturally Specially Bulky Pokemon**: Pokemon like Tapu Fini, Tapu Lele, Celesteela and Chansey have naturally high Special Defense, preventing it from posing any threat.
Celesteela isn't a great example, it can be 1 shot by torrent Z move iirc.

*Powerful Wallbreakers**: Flyinium Z Dragonite, Choice Band Hoopa-Unbound with Gunk Shot, Mega Heracross with Bullet Seed and Choice Specs Porygon Z are some of the Pokemon that either boost their offenses before OHKOing, or just flat out blow it away.
As you talked about below this part with the Ferrothorn being lured by specs HP Fire, talk of how Dragonite can be lured by Icy Wind.

Wow this is a lot, sorry for being so anal-retentive. It shouldn't take that long though, since I outlined most of it for you. Do not mark this as 3/3 until these changes are implimented. When you have finished, give me a ping in Discord and I'll take a look.

Freddy Kyogre, most points implemented, I'm not too sure about how to phrase your point on neutral Moonblast hitting harder. I don't think it's important enough to mention getting a 30% SpA drop.

Alright, I added a little bit after Moonblast, do you think that's comprehensive enough?
Also, it's meant to be 16 oops. I had 8 before and forgot to change it.

[OVERVIEW]
With a stellar Water / Fairy typing, (AC) and above-average stats, in particular a great Special Attack and good Special Defense, Primarina proves itself to be a prevalent threat in the 1v1 metagame. Its typing is useful for both defensive and offensive purposes, as it resists or is immune to many of the tier’s most prevalent types in Water-, Fire-, and Dragon-type Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados, Mega Charizard X and Kommo-o, and is adept at dealing with Ground- and Rock-type Pokemon, such as Donphan and Crustle. Very few type combinations Pokemon resist both Fairy- and Water-type moves, allowing Primarina’s High Base Powered strong STAB moves of Oceanic Operetta and Moonblast to blast through most of the tier unresisted. Primarina can also forego (forgo is abstain from while forego is to go before, precede in place or time) Special Attack investment to invest in its Defense to survive powerful hits such as Tectonic Rage from Landorus-Therian (remove space), as it already has enough power with its high Base-powered STAB moves. Access to priority in Aqua Jet allows Primarina to beat Sturdy Pokemon and picking off weakened Pokemon that are faster. It has access to Encore, (AC) which beats passive Pokemon like Mega Slowbro. Although Primarina faces competition from Tapu Fini, it can offer more power and utility with Oceanic Operetta and Encore respectively. Primarina is weak to common Grass-, Electric- and Poison-types such as Mega Venusaur, Naganadel, (AC) and Zeraora. Also, Primarina has no way of boosting itself, and so can fall prey to bulky set up Pokemon setup sweepers like Meloetta and Magearna, and powerful nukes such as Z-Hyper Beam from Porygon-Z.

Sparkling Aria becomes Oceanic Operetta with Primarium Z, which has an astounding 195 Base Power. Sparkling Aria also goes through Substitute, which is helpful against common Substitute users like Mega Lopunny and Mega Blaziken. Waterium Z with Hydro Cannon can be used for the extra 5 Base Power over Oceanic Operetta as well as more immediate power to more easily 2HKO opponents more easily. (RC, add period) However, it loses Sparkling Aria's ability to go through Substitute and requires a recharge turn afterwards. Moonblast is mostly to be used mostly when the opponent resists Water but not Fairy, such as against Mega Gyarados and Haxorus. This is because a neutral Oceanic Operetta still does more damage than a super effective Moonblast. However, if Oceanic Operetta does not OHKO the opponent, Moonblast is the preferred move of choice. Aqua Jet is a useful STAB priority move that can get boosted by Torrent to finish off Pokemon that manages to survive Primarina’s Special Moves primary STAB moves, such as against Garchomp, Genesect and Sturdy Pokemon. Aqua Jet can also be used to evade certain strategies, such as Mirror Coat Avalugg. Substitute is used to guarantee Torrent’s boost against opponents that do not already put Primarina into Torrent range, such as against Mega Metagross and Zygarde. It can also be used to evade status from slower Pokemon such as Pyukumuku and Aron. Encore is used to defeat certain set-up (remove hyphen) or stall Pokemon, such as locking Mega Gyarados into Dragon Dance (RC) or Mega Slowbro into Calm Mind or Amnesia.

Set Details

Max HP and Defense is required in order to be able to survive powerful neutral hits, as well as non-STAB Super Effective moves from physical attackers such as Z-Earthquake into Sucker Punch from Golem, Poison Jab from Choice Band Haxorus and Fake Out into Giga Impact from Mega Lopunny. The 16 SpDef EVs ensure that Download users like Genesect do not receive a Special Attack boost. Special Attack investment is not necessary as Primarina already has decent Special Attack. Torrent is an amazing ability that boosts Primarina’s Water-type moves to insane levels when at or below 1/3 max HP, that can be manipulated with Substitute. This boost is commonly triggered by Pokemon that barely fail to OHKO Primarina, such as Choice Specs Meloetta and Choice Specs Magearna. 0 Speed IVs with a negative Speed Nature allows Primarina to not auto-lose (add hyphen) to Aegislash by letting it have a chance to attack it in its vulnerable Blade forme.

Usage Tips
========
Primarina does well against most Pokemon with STAB moves it resists or is super effective against, eg which are most (you've already mentioned most in the sentence before this one) Dragon-, Fire-, Ground-, Rock-, Dark-, and Fighting-type Pokemon. It also fares well against top-tier Pokemon that it fares well against are: like all Sturdy Pokemon besides Magnezone, Mega Charizard X, Mega Gyarados, most Fighting-types like Mega Lopunny and Kommo-o, and all Sturdy Pokemon besides Magnezone. (Feels like you're mentioning ZardX MGyara and Fighting-types in the list of Sturdy Pokemon) With Encore, it also aptly handles Mega Slowbro, and with Substitute, Metagross and Mega Mawile. Most of the time, you can simply use the appropriate STAB move (Oceanic Operetta or Moonblast) to OHKO opponents, or finish them off with Aqua Jet afterwards. For passive Pokemon such as Mega Slowbro, attack as usual on Turn 1, and then after they use a set-up (remove hyphen) move, use Encore to prevent them from switching moves. In this case, repeatedly Encore them on the appropriate turns Use Encore after the last one has worn off ("repeatedly use Encore" gave me the impression of spamming Encore after you have used it to lock them into a move) to ensure that they cannot retaliate to achieve victory. For some Pokemon that do not put Primarina into Torrent range, it can be better to use Substitute rather than attack. For example against bulky Mega Metagross, it is better to Substitute first to trigger Torrent, and then OHKO it with Torrent-boosted Oceanic Operetta. Against Pokemon that run Metal Burst, such as Specially Bulky Defensive Mega Mawile and Mega Aggron, it can will be wiser to Moonblast first before firing off Oceanic Operetta, so as not to get OHKOed by Metal Burst.

Team Options
========
Grass- and Fire-type Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Kartana, and Mega Charizard X, (AC) and Incineroar (RC) are some examples of good teammates for Primarina, as they cover each others' threats. Ferrothorn and Kartana can handle the Electric- and Water- Pokemon that trouble Primarina such as Tapu Fini and Zeraora, while Mega Charizard X and Incineroar defeat the Grass- and Steel-types such as Mega Venusaur and Magearna, and Primarina takes care of the Fire- and Dragon- types like Mega Charizard X and Haxorus. Physical attackers such as Zeraora and Mega Metagross help in breaking specially defensive Pokemon such as Meloetta and Chansey, while Primarina takes care of the physically bulky defensive Pokemon such as Sturdy users.

=============
Primarina can run a fairly viable Choice Specs set with wide coverage options in Hydro Cannon, Sparkling Aria, Moonblast, Hidden Power Fire, Psychic, Shadow Ball, Icy Wind, Ice Beam, (AC) and Energy Ball. This allows it to beat Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Mega Swampert, but loses out on the utility that the bulky Primarium set brings with the option of switching moves, meaning that it will be unable to reliably check Sturdy Pokemon like Carracosta, Crustle, (AC) and Sawk. A Fairium Z set with Baby Doll Eyes can ease the matchup versus some physical attackers (RC) or allow Primarina to use for a Z-boosted Moonblast Twinkle Tackle. This can be helpful against Pokemon such as Gyarados, Zygarde and Physical Dragonite, but then it will be is unable to blast break through Pokemon such as Mega Mawile. A Quiet nature can be used over Relaxed if power is preferred over bulk, to ensure OHKOs on some Pokemon such as max HP Mega Mawile; (add semicolon) however, (AC) this may leave Primarina vulnerable to some of the physical threats it used to check.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Super Effective STAB Pokemon Attackers**: (I took this from Bulu's 1v1 analyses) Pokemon who have an offensive type advantage over Primarina such as Kartana, Tapu Bulu, Electrium Z Zeraora, Magnezone, (AC) and Choice Specs Naganadel can easily outspeed and OHKO Primarina before it can even land a hit.

**Naturally Specially Bulky Defensive Pokemon**: Pokemon like Tapu Fini, Tapu Lele, and Chansey have naturally high Special Defense, preventing it Primarina from posing any threat.

**Powerful Wallbreakers**: Flyinium Z Dragonite, Choice Band Hoopa-Unbound with Gunk Shot, Mega Heracross with Bullet Seed and Choice Specs Porygon-Z (add hyphen) are some of the Pokemon that can OHKO Primarina either boost their offenses before OHKOing, or just flat out blow it away. by boosting up or with a powerful super effective coverage move.

**Pokemon that resist Primarina’s STAB moves**: Mega Venusaur, Ferrothorn, and Volcanion can whittle Primarina down while taking little damage. However, Ferrothorn can be lured with a Choice Specs set with Hidden Power Fire.

**Special Defense Boosting Pokemon (I'll leave this to official GP, but this sounds really weird)**: Pokemon that can boost their Special Defense such as Magearna, Necrozma, Deoxys-S, Mew, Mega Gardevoir and Meloetta prevent Primarina from being to OHKO them, (RC) and are able to either stall Primarina’s PP, (RC) or take it out after boosting up. (QC, but you should mention "if Primarina does not have Encore" here)

This is because a neutral Oceanic Operetta still does more damage than a super effective Moonblast. (then a neutral moonblast is also weaker than a resisted OO) However, if Oceanic Operetta does not OHKO the opponent foe, Moonblast is the preferred move of choice. Aqua Jet is a useful STAB priority move that can get boosted by Torrent to finish off Pokemon that manage to survive Primarina’s primary STAB moves, such as Garchomp, Genesect, (AC) and Sturdy Pokemon. Aqua Jet can also be used to evade certain strategies, such as Mirror Coat from Avalugg. Substitute is used to guarantee Torrent’s boost against opponents Pokemon that do not already put Primarina into Torrent range, such as Mega Metagross and Zygarde. It can also be used to evade status from slower Pokemon such as Pyukumuku and Aron. Encore is used to defeat certain set up setup or stall Pokemon, such as locking Mega Gyarados into Dragon Dance (RC) or Mega Slowbro into Calm Mind or Amnesia.

240 HP EVs and maximum Defense is required in order to be able to survive powerful hits from physical attackers such as Z-Earthquake into Tectonic Rage followed by Sucker Punch from Golem, Poison Jab from Choice Band Haxorus, (AC) and Fake Out into followed by Giga Impact from Mega Lopunny. The 16 SpDef Special Defense EVs ensure that Download users like Genesect do not receive a Special Attack boost. Special Attack investment is not necessary, (AC) as Primarina already has decent Special Attack. Torrent is an amazing ability that boosts Primarina’s Water-type moves to insane levels when at or below 1/3 max HP, that which can be manipulated with Substitute. This boost is commonly triggered by Pokemon that fail to OHKO Primarina, such as Choice Specs Meloetta and Choice Specs Magearna. 0 Speed IVs with a negative Speed nature allows allow Primarina to not auto-lose to Aegislash by letting it have giving it a chance to attack it in its vulnerable Blade forme. If running Substitute, it is better to run Bold over Relaxed with 31 Speed IVs to allow Primarina to set up Substitute before slower Pokemon like minimum speed Aegislash, Mega Mawile, (AC) and Mega Aggron.

Usage Tips
========

Primarina does well against most Pokemon with that have STAB moves it resists or is that it hits super effectively against, which are namely Dragon-, Fire-, Ground-, Rock-, Dark-, and Fighting-type Pokemon. It also fares well against top-tier Pokemon like Mega Charizard X, Mega Gyarados, Mega Lopunny, Kommo-o, and all Sturdy Pokemon besides Magnezone. With Encore, it also aptly handles Mega Slowbro, and with Substitute, it takes on Metagross and Mega Mawile. Most of the time, you can simply use the appropriate STAB move (Oceanic Operetta or Moonblast) to OHKO opponents, opposing Pokemon or finish them off with Aqua Jet afterwards. For passive slower Pokemon such as Mega Slowbro, attack as usual on Turn 1, and then after they use a set-up setup move, use Encore to prevent them from switching moves. In this case, repeatedly Encore them on the appropriate turns to ensure that they cannot retaliate. For some Pokemon that do not put Primarina into Torrent range, it can be better to use Substitute rather than attack. For example, (AC) against bulky Mega Metagross, it is better to Substitute first to trigger Torrent, and then OHKO it with Torrent-boosted Oceanic Operetta. Against Pokemon that run Metal Burst, such as specially defensive Mega Mawile and Mega Aggron, it is wiser to use Moonblast first before firing off Oceanic Operetta (RC) so as not to get OHKOed by Metal Burst.

Team Options
========

Grass-type Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Kartana (RC) and Fire-type Pokemon such as Mega Charizard X and Incineroar (RC) are some examples of good teammates for Primarina, as they cover each others' other's threats. Physical attackers such as Zeraora and Mega Metagross help in breaking specially defensive Pokemon such as Meloetta and Chansey, while Primarina takes care of the physically defensive Pokemon such as Sturdy users. Fighting-type Pokemon such as Sawk and Mega Blaziken are able to cover the Steel-types that bother Primarina such as Kartana and Magearna, while Primarina can take out Pokemon that threaten them like Donphan and Golem.

Other Options
=============

Primarina can run a fairly viable Choice Specs set with wide coverage options in Hydro Cannon, Sparkling Aria, Moonblast, Hidden Power Fire, Psychic, Shadow Ball, Icy Wind, Ice Beam, and Energy Ball. This allows it to beat Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Mega Swampert (RC) but loses out on the utility that the bulky Primarium set brings with the option of switching moves, meaning that it will be unable to reliably check Sturdy Pokemon like Carracosta, Crustle, and Sawk. A Fairium Z set with Baby-Doll (AH) Eyes can ease the matchup versus some physical attackers or allow Primarina to use Twinkle Tackle. This can be helpful against Pokemon such as Gyarados, Zygarde, (AC) and physical Dragonite (RC) but then it will be leaves Primarina unable to blast through Pokemon such as Mega Mawile. A Quiet nature can be used over Relaxed if power is preferred over bulk (RC) to ensure OHKOs on some Pokemon such as maximum HP Mega Mawile; however, (AC) this may leave Primarina vulnerable to some of the physical threats it used to check.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Super Effective STAB Pokemon Attackers**: Pokemon who have with an offensive type advantage over Primarina such as Kartana, Tapu Bulu, Electrium Z Zeraora, Magnezone, and Choice Specs Naganadel easily outspeed and OHKO Primarina before it can even land a hit.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Pokemon like Tapu Fini, Tapu Lele, and Chansey have naturally high Special Defense, preventing Primarina from posing any threat.

**Powerful Wallbreakers**: Flyinium Z Dragonite, Choice Band Hoopa-U with Gunk Shot, Mega Heracross with Bullet Seed, (AC) and Choice Specs Porygon-Z are some of the Pokemon that can OHKO Primarina with their overwhelming offenses.

**Pokemon that resist Primarina’s STAB moves Defensive Typing Advantage**: Mega Venusaur, Ferrothorn, and Volcanion can whittle Primarina down while taking little damage. However, Ferrothorn can be lured and taken out with a Choice Specs set with Hidden Power Fire.

**Special Defense-boosting (AH) Pokemon**: Pokemon that can boost their Special Defense such as Magearna, Necrozma, Deoxys-S, Mew, Mega Gardevoir and Meloetta prevent Primarina from being to OHKOing them and are able to either stall Primarina’s PP or take it out after boosting up. As these Pokemon are naturally faster than Primarina, they do not fear being locked into a move by Encore.

I have a couple of small questions, which I was hoping you could clarify for me:
-
and is adept at dealing with Ground- and Rock-type Pokemon
this change didn't flow right, as when I continue reading this from the bit before, it doesn't really make sense to me.
- "high-Base (AH) Powered." I took this to mean high Base-Power as that seems to make more sense.
- "blast through most of the tier unresisted metagame." I don't think the change correctly conveys the meaning of the sentence, although it was a very vague sentence to begin with. I've changed this to "hit most of the metagame neutrally".

Ya change "is" to "makes it" or something, I initially made a different change to the first part of the sentence and then forgot to update the change I made here.
- "high-Base (AH) Powered." I took this to mean high Base-Power as that seems to make more sense
No it should be "high-Base Power", standard compound adjective with a hyphen between the two parts.
- "blast through most of the tier unresisted metagame." I don't think the change correctly conveys the meaning of the sentence, although it was a very vague sentence to begin with. I've changed this to "hit most of the metagame neutrally".
Ye I assumed you meant "blast through most Pokemon that don't resist it", this works too if it's more accurate.

Some of the changes here were fixing curly apostrophes ( ’ ) to straight ones ( ' ). Curly apostrophes mess up the dex formatting on-site.

[OVERVIEW]
With a stellar Water / Fairy typing, a great Special Attack, and good Special Defense, Primarina proves itself to be a prevalent threat in the 1v1 metagame. Its typing is useful for both defensive and offensive purposes, as it enables it to take on many of the tier’s tier's most prevalent types in Water-, Fire-, and Dragon-type Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados, Mega Charizard X, and Kommo-o,(RC) as well as Ground- and Rock-type Pokemon such as Donphan and Crustle. Very few type combinations resist both Fairy- and Water-type moves, allowing Primarina’s high Base-Power Primarina's high-Base Power STAB moves in Oceanic Operetta and Moonblast to hit most of the metagame neutrally. However, Primarina is weak to common Grass-, Electric-,(AC) and Poison-types such as Mega Venusaur, Naganadel, and Zeraora,(AC) and Naganadel (maintain the same order). Also, Primarina has no way of boosting its power, and so it can fall prey to bulky setup Pokemon like Meloetta and Magearna and powerful nukes such as Normalium Z-boosted Hyper Beam Breakneck Blitz from Porygon-Z.

Moonblast is mostly to be used when the foe resists Water and is weak to Fairy, such as against Mega Gyarados and Haxorus.
