Name Etymology:
A specific species of real-life prey bird, seen as a symbol of swordsmiths in antiquity. According to legend, these birds would sing in time to the smith's hammer if their sword was destined for glory.

Attitude and Motive:
Disaffected and callously distant. The threat of loss is too great to risk making new bonds with others.

Background:
Companions with her trainer Lou from the crib, and was alone in that role for years. After many meetings and partings, some sweet and some bitter, Ferre has grown cold to most others. It is her preference to no longer battle in a large team, if at all. Like most Slakings, Lazarus is inherently quite lazy. He hides his brute strength behind his tendency to tire easily, although he blames it on old age (he's really not that old). Lazarus is the type of person to grumble about things but never actually do anything about them. "Those darn politicians don't know what they're doing these days!" (He likes to act older than he really is because it makes him feel wise.)

How They Met:
Lazarus is Teddy's dad. Typically, parents worry when their children run off to join "Team Friendship," but Lazarus was too busy sleeping and eating to care. Well, for a while. He ate up all of the available food within reach, as Slakings do, and then decided to go look for Teddy. Now, he's taken up residence by the pantry in Doduodrio's house, where the food will never run out and where he can keep an eye on Teddy. It's certainly a great arrangement... for him.

Name Origin:
From "lazy" and Lazarus from the Bible (the guy not named Jesus who rose from the dead). According to Wikipedia, the name Lazarus means "God has helped" and Lou has indeed helped Slaking rise from the dead.

How do you become an approved? I already messaged Eve.

I suppose I'll clarify. First off, I'm not always looking for new approvers. Myself, or a mod, will let you know when I'm looking to add a new approver, in which case you can DM me on Smogon or Discord indicating interest. Anyone looking to become an approver should have a good history of accurate claims. After interest has been gauged, I'll message an example claim or two to people who I believe fit the bill, and then I'll select someone based on the results. It's also possible I don't add a new approver, if I feel that there is not an interested party who I'd feel comfortable giving the role.

Furthermore, please understand, FuecocoBoi, that like anything in BBP, sometimes it can take upwards of a few days to a week for a claim to be approved, dependant on how busy approvers are with other obligations. Many are either students and/or employed (including myself), and are tied up during the week.
