Tournament Hosts: Xboy , feen

Tournament Time Frame: Player sign ups open on the 14th of July and the tournament begins 2 weeks later, preceded by an auction. Round 1 lasts for 7 weeks, followed by a playoffs stage, lasting about 2 weeks.

Hosting Experience: feen (RU tier leader) has hosted multiple RU circuit tours and the ongoing RU Swiss. I have hosted this tournament several times over the last 8 years as well as managing Team Bangladesh for iterations of WCoP and WCoR.

Tournament Description:
  • Tournament Style: The tournament will feature 8 teams (banner for reference) and consist of two phases. Round 1 will be an 8 team-Round-robin, leading into play offs where 4 teams will qualify for the second phase of the tournament.
  • Formats: SV OU x3, SV Ubers, SV UU, SS OU, SM OU, ORAS OU.
  • Tournament Justification: This is the 9th iteration of the biggest tournament hosted annually by the Bangladeshi Pokémon Battlers group. For Season 9 year, our goal is for players from Bangladesh and different communities on Smogon to connect and have fun while cherishing the friendships made along the way.

Tournament Name: Camove Cup 1

Tournament Host(s): The Hisui Region

Tournament Time Frame: (GMT -7) Signups start ASAP after approval (TheIronPikachu said this was okay, if not then 12:00 AM Saturday October 4th) and end 12:00 AM Saturday, October 18th, Round 1 starts 12:00 AM Monday and each consecutive round will last a week, no extensions available unless absolutely necessary

Host experience: I haven't ever hosted any smogtours but I have hosted tournaments for other games and I'm having the wonderful TheIronPikachu help show me the ropes of creating a user-hosted tour (she nor anyone else will be involved in administrative decisions or any matter related in any possible way to the results of the tournament as she is going to sign up as a player)

Tournament Description: Camove Chaos Double Elim tour, $100 (or more MAYBE but fn I'm saying 100 cause idk fs) Prize Pool $50 to first, $30 to 2nd, $20 to 3rd
Tournament Style: Double elim, Bo3 winner's semis, loser's semis, winner's finals, loser's finals, grand finals bracket reset, rest Bo1

Tournament Justification: This will be the first purely-Camove tournament, as even though Camove has been featured in such tours as OMM Trios and Tours Plaza Premiere VI, it has never truly gotten a spotlight, and with a prize pool this large, I'm hoping it will attract some much-deserved attention to Camove. The format is also generally considered to be the current most-popular OMM, and it is not obscure to the point of objectionable tiering action and lack of resources/council

Tournament Name: Crazyhouse random roulette Bring 12 Pick 4

Tournament Host(s): wofobo i.e. Just me if that's alright, but if not, please let me know as I'm sure i can get someone to cohost.

Tournament Time Frame: I'd like to start around 3pm EST on Saturday Jan 11 (or most weekends) but I'm flexible.
Although I think it would be more accessible if this was just a "Random Battles" room tourney and not a weeks long affair like more established formats.

Host experience: TL;DR. I have no experience but I'd be willing to learn whatever it takes to host this tourney.
I'm an avid randbats tourney enjoyer with currently over 100 points in Tours Plaza and 2,000+ ELO in gen 9 randbats.
I know I'm far from the best but I'm still a big fan of the format.

Tournament Description:

    • Tournament Style: Single Elimination or best 2 out of 3
    • Tournament Justification:
      • I'm happy to elaborate upon request but my research indicates that the crazyhouse format is underrated because it's especially susceptible to stall.
      • However randbats skirts this issue since it's unlikely that both players will receive stall teams to abuse. So I'd like to test that theory and maybe generate some research on which generations are most fun for crazyhouse.
      • And I'm willing to donate $200 ($100 for first, $50 for 2nd, $25 for the semi-finalists) to charities [a] of the winners' choice.

Hosting Experience: I have hosted National Dex Mega-Auction, Limit Break Series, Two Hunger Games Trios, Mystery Box Random Battles, BOSS-A-BABY Cup and National Dex Same Trios Tournament in this sub-forum itself. I have also hosted the previous 2 iteration of HGPL on discord.

Tournament Description:
  • Tournament Style: Team Tournament with 8 teams with ideally 8 players and 2 subs in each team. Flexible enough to fit 6 players and 2 subs as well if we don't hit enough sign-ups (which in my opinion is not an issue). Usual Round Robin to Playoffs style as regular team tour, only difference is that we have a game round between the four qualified teams before Playoffs begin which gives the winning team a slight advantage. The formats we play are very different each week, the only concrete thing is there's atleast one doubles, one vanilla metagame and one randbats each round. The tournament will exclusively take place in our A Place to Hangout server where the managers have already been selected. Them being:

Tournament Name: Almost Any Ability Same Solo Series 3 (AAASSS3)

Tournament Host(s): ihbst

Tournament Time Frame: Weekly rounds, signups/round 1 planned for Feb 15/16(But might be later depending on how long it takes to get approval)

Host experience: I have hosted the past 2 AAASSS so I know what I'm doing

Tournament Description: Provide a general description for your tournament that includes:
  • Tournament Style: Double Elimination Tournament. Bo1 with a public Pokémon announced at start of week.
  • Tournament Banlist: Mainly follows a combo of AAA + 1v1 Banlist, with a few accuracy-lowering moves and Accupressure unbanned as well as a few powerful abilities in 1v1 context being banned(Protean, Libero) Also Harvest/Recycle + Leppa berries, even if it can be a valid strategy the mirror match would just end in draw which I want to avoid.
  • Tournament Justification: Since it requires at most 1 set per week the prep is simple. There also isn't many same solo/monopoke tournaments, which is a shame as the format promotes creativity while being easy to play.

Tournament Name: BW PU Almost Any Ability Twisted Dimensions Cash Cup

Tournament Time Frame: Open up sign-ups on the 1st of March and keep them open until the next Saturday (8th) or the Saturday after (15th) depending on the rate of sign-ups. The tour would begin the Sunday after sign-ups close and the deadline for each week would be midnight -6.

Host experience: While I do not have tournament hosting experience, I am quite active in any team tournament I was in. Me and a few others also have a discord for this tier with resources like a viability and set ranking and sample teams. I'm also decently involved in the main tier I play (CG OU) as seen by the TC badge.

Tournament Description: Provide a general description for your tournament that includes:
  • Tournament Style: The tournament is double elimination. I will also be adding a cash prize for 1st ($50), 2nd ($25) and 3rd ($10) to incentivize sign-ups.

Cash prize also added to get players who would normally skip a lower tier based format to sign-up and play an extremely fun tier. We also have a discord server to set up games/decide on bans/host resources but I'm not sure if I can plug that here.

:espeon: can you clarify how the self and opponent picks work? Like of the tiers listed above? Otherwise looks good

:cramorant: For every week. every single team gets to pick any tier (Within reason, of course, at least it needs to have a sizable amount of resources and a smogon thread), it can be from RBY OU Bo5 to SV Partners In Crime, there are rules like you can't do any more than best of 5, but otherwise they can be pretty much whatever the team wishes. It is not unlike the Flex Slots from 1v1 OGPL III. These are submitted about 24 hours before the lineup deadline and then the lineups are submitted based on the self pick.

Host Experience: Did a lot of hosting in projects and tournaments over a span of a decade; notable ones include Iron Chef projects in ORAS UU, SM UU, and SS Camomons, and other specific forum tournaments.

A PL-style tournament containing one metagame per generation (Gens IV to IX) handpicked by yours truly that had fond memories playing with (alongside the OU component):

As for me i am fairly new into the hosting experience but i have managed in team tournaments like NDOTPL and several discord tournaments like ISPL.

  • Tournament Style: This will be a team tournament trying to feature several communities from this website. It will include 6/8 teams which each include 8/10 players with 2 subs. It will be Round-robin, leading into play offs after the round robin weeks end. 4 teams will qualify for play offs.
