hardest of counters. just clicks poison jab for an ohko or possibly chip with pursuit. regular sets also work but I'm a wallbreaker spamming kind of guy.
Aggron @ Choice Band
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Heavy Slam
- Head Smash
- Earthquake
- Fire Punch
Aggron easily serves as a counter to Clefairy. Clefairy can literally do nothing to Aggron in return; whether it be Moonblast or Seismic Toss. Aggron outspeeds every time and hits Clefairy hard. The nice thing is not just STAB Heavy Slam OHKOs it:
252+ Atk Choice Band Aggron Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Eviolite Clefairy: 678-800 (197 - 232.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
So does Head Smash:
252+ Atk Choice Band Aggron Head Smash vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Eviolite Clefairy: 424-501 (123.2 - 145.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
In Clefairy's case, Seismic Toss is ideal for Aggron but won't have a chance to use it given a 1v1 situation. Aggron wins 100% of the time!
Dugtrio-Alola @ Leftovers
Ability: Tangling Hair
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Substitute
- Toxic
A check, Alola Duggy's Iron head has a safe chance of 2 OHKOing clef, while it can also sub and beat it,Duggy also is annoying to clef's teammates to deal because of toxic and duggy's great speed, while Switching in is not always safe because of seismic,Duggy makes a great check to it
Victreebel @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sludge Bomb
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Strength Sap
Victreebel serves as a counter to Clefairy, using it as an opportunity to come in and starting breaking, as it absorbs Moonblast and takes Seismic Toss’s, being most annoyed by a stray Knock Off and is immune to Toxic. It can heal off residual damage with Strength Sap and always threatens Clef with Sludge Bomb.
Togedemaru @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Head
- Zing Zap
- Toxic
- Encore
Good counter to Clefairy, Iron Head does ~80%, and minus Seismic Toss its other attacks don't do enough damage to matter.
252 Atk Togedemaru Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Eviolite Clefairy: 254-302 (73.8 - 87.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0 SpA Clefairy Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Togedemaru: 44-52 (16.2 - 19.1%) -- possible 8HKO after Leftovers recovery
Clefairy Seismic Toss vs. 0 HP Togedemaru: 100-100 (36.9 - 36.9%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
someone nominate BU Throh moonblast only does 25% max
Kingler @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Agility
- Liquidation
- Knock Off
- Swords Dance / Superpower
Nice check, Clef gets ripped apart by Liquidation but Kingler hates switching into a Moonblast or Toxic. I've been an advocate in the past for never dropping Superpower, but the shifts screwed us over; Ferroseed and Gastrodon aren't relevant targets anymore, and Water + Fighting coverage is walled by Qwilfish and Altaria, making Knock Off a great candidate. This is especially true alongside Swords Dance, helping you blast through said two Pokemon.
(Please include the names of the Pokemon that you're voting for in your post. You can list the user who posted said Pokemon if you want, but knowing which Pokemon you voted for helps me when counting votes.)
