Week 7
This week's victim to kill is................

Guzzlord @ Dragonium Z
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 136 Def / 252 SpA / 60 SpD / 60 Spe
Modest Nature

Hitmonchan @ Assault Vest
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 244 HP / 136 Atk / 128 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch

Hitmonchan is a really solid Guzzlord counter. Hitmonchan is able to tank a Z-draco and regular Draco after Drain Punch recovery. Then it simply spams Drain Punch until Guzzlord dies.

252+ SpA Guzzlord Devastating Drake (195 BP) vs. 244 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Hitmonchan: 177-208 (58.6 - 68.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

Bellossom serves as an effective check to Guzzlord by being able to stomach any of its attacks after a Quiver Dance and threaten it out with Moonblast. It can also use it as setup fodder with Strength Sap if you're willing to risk Sludge Bomb poisons.

252+ SpA Guzzlord Fire Blast vs. +1 248 HP / 0 SpD Bellossom: 146-172 (41.3 - 48.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

nice check. z blizzard ohkoes, and switch-ins bar lanturn can be volted on giving rotom-f's team the momentum advantage in the event that guzzlord is forced out. speaking of which, the last slot is dedicated to annoying guzzlord teams that rely on certain pokes to check threats to guzzlord. for instance, teams might pair guzzlord with av chan or alolaslash to act as checks to something like aurorus, but are crippled by willowisp and hp fighting respectively from rotom-f.

Reserving Type:null

772.png
Type: Null @ Eviolite
Ability: Battle Armor
EVs: 252 HP / 8 Def / 248 SpD
Careful Nature
- Swords Dance
- Return
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Due to its formidable bulk Type:Null serves as a good counter to Guzzlord. Max HP and 248 SpDef coupled with a Careful nature lets Type:Null tank any hit, which Guzzlord might go for.
Guzzlord struggles with Type:Null even when it goes for its good and dangerous STAB in Draco meteor same goes for its Z Move which Type:Null is capable of eating this hit up decently well.
Rest in particular is a troublesome move in Type:Null's arsenal, since it can take a rest on its Stab Draco Meteor and also after the Devestating Drake.
Type:Null is able to set up infront of Guzzlord with its Swords Dance leading that Type:Null is capable of breaking Guzzlord with the move return.
However Type:Null has to be wary about a possible Knock Off coming from Guzzlord, butin overall Type:Null is a noteable Counter to Guzzlord.

Aurorus @ Choice Specs
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Blizzard
- Freeze-Dry
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power Rock

Aurorus makes for a nice offensive check. While it can come as it risks taking a Heavy Slam or Z-Draco Meteor, it can easily revenge kill Guzzlord after a sack or it can also deal with it if it's brought in via a slow U-turn, such as Mesprit's. While I said that it can't switch in, it can switch in if Guzzlord isn't Heavy Slam and has used its Z-Move.

Reserving Granbull

Granbull @ Leftovers / Normalium Z
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 208 HP / 252 Atk / 48 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Heal Bell
- Thunder Wave
- Play Rough
- Earthquake
Granbull is a fantastic and extremely versatile check to Guzzlord.

This is as good as it gets: Granbull outspeeds Guzzlord and OHKOes it with unboosted Play Rough, while for the rare 10% miss chance it can comfortably tank almost any hit from Guzz. Even without any defensive investment it can take Guzzlord's strongest Poison move in the form Sludge Bomb without fainting. Needless to say, its Fairy typing renders Guzzlord's z-move completely useless.

This is the bread-and-butter Granbull set, but you can alter it to better fit your team and use it however you fancy; It can use Guzz as setup fodder, boost its speed with Toxic Orb + Quick Feet, utilize a more defensive spread, perform the role of a cleric, etc. Even without any offensive investment at all, as long as it can outspeed Guzz, it can OHKO it.

252+ Atk Granbull Play Rough vs. 0 HP / 136 Def Guzzlord: 816-964 (139 - 164.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Bye bye Guzzy!

0 Atk Granbull Play Rough vs. 0 HP / 136 Def Guzzlord: 612-720 (104.2 - 122.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Ran out of EVs for Atk? Neutral nature? Your Band/Life Orb got knocked off? No problem!

252+ SpA Guzzlord Sludge Bomb vs. 208 HP / 0 SpD Granbull: 268-316 (71.8 - 84.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ SpA Guzzlord Dark Pulse vs. 208 HP / 0 SpD Granbull: 89-105 (23.8 - 28.1%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ SpA Guzzlord Fire Blast vs. 208 HP / 0 SpD Granbull: 163-192 (43.6 - 51.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
-1 0- Atk Guzzlord Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 208 HP / 0 Def Granbull: 40-48 (10.7 - 12.8%) -- possible 8HKO
-1 0- Atk Guzzlord Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. 208 HP / 0 Def Granbull: 132-156 (35.3 - 41.8%) -- 80.2% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
With the sole exception of Sludge Bomb, Granbull doesn't mind taking any hit.

(Side note: After playing with calcs for a while I have come to the conclusion that with a more defensive spread it could make for a fantastic counter too, especially with maxed out SpD, however I don't see such a spread serving much purpose otherwise.)

Edit: Changed the set to Sir Pin's one on the request of Oath. Thanks to everyone who advised!
Edit2: Spread updated to outspeed Guzzlord.

Ability: RKS System
EVs: 48 HP / 208 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Multi-Attack
- Thunderbolt
- Parting Shot

Fairy Silvally is a nice counter to Guzzlord, as it can stomach any attack easily and OHKO with Multi-Attack.

252+ SpA Guzzlord Fire Blast vs. 48 HP / 0 SpD Silvally-Fairy: 113-133 (32.9 - 38.7%) -- 99.6% chance to 3HKO
0- Atk Guzzlord Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. 48 HP / 0 Def Silvally-Fairy: 164-194 (47.8 - 56.5%) -- 85.9% chance to 2HKO
208 Atk Silvally-Fairy Multi-Attack vs. 0 HP / 136 Def Guzzlord: 612-724 (104.2 - 123.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Edit: Sludge Bomb is a clean 2HKO, so not sure if I should change this to a check or not, as Silvally will take a fair amount of damage.

Absol @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
Adamant/Jolly Nature
EVs: 252 ATK/252 SPE/4 SPD

- Swords Dance
- Knock Off/Megahorn/Psycho cut/Superpower
- Sucker Punch
- Play Rough

Ah yes, Absol, a pokémon that had far better days, finally, has a good reason to be used! this thing is a good offensive CHECK to Guzzlord and can switch into some of his attacks, namely Dark pulse & Knock off and OHKO Guzz with a LO boosted Play Rough, of course Absol can't switch into a Draco Meteor but otherwise it can tank nearly everything that the dragonium-z set throws at it even though it's not exactly the best idea to switch Absol into an attack.

- 252 Atk Life Orb Absol Play Rough vs. 0 HP / 136 Def Guzzlord: 686-811 (116.8 - 138.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
- 252+ SpA Guzzlord Dark Pulse vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Absol: 88-104 (32.4 - 38.3%) -- 97.9% chance to 3HKO
- 252+ SpA Guzzlord Fire Blast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Absol: 162-191 (59.7 - 70.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
- 0 Atk Guzzlord Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Absol: 131-155 (48.3 - 57.1%) -- 91.8% chance to 2HKO
- 0 Atk Guzzlord Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Absol: 80-94 (29.5 - 34.6%) -- 9% chance to 3HKO

But the main reason to use Absol over other revenge killers/Wallbreakers capable of dealing with Guzz like Scarf Primeape & Band Stoutland is that Absol will ALWAYS OHKO Guzzlord no matter what, even if Absol gets it LO knocked off it still can OHKO Guzzlord thanks to Justified which increases it's attack everytime it gets hit by a dark attack, Scarf Ape can only kill Guzz if he was chipped beforehand & Stoutland superpower is not always a OHKO but instead it's a roll.

Counters: Primeape @ Choice Band
Ability: Defiant
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Gunk Shot
- U-turn

Primeape can be paired with a fairy type and switch into attacks it won't die seeing how nobody would use draco meteor on a fairy they would most likely go for heavy slam or sludge bomb which primeape takes nicely. Primeape then can OHKO Guzzlord with a close combat.
252 Atk Choice Band Primeape Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 136 Def Guzzlord: 678-800 (115.5 - 136.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

(ngl to you guys, AV crab was looking like a bad check so i switched) Offensive AlolaSlash is a check. Subzero Slammer has a really high chance of one-hitting Guzzlord. You can't switch in to pretty much any of its attacks but lets say Guzzlord nukes something, you bring in Sandslash, then you click Z because in most cases, Guzzlord is gonna be chipped since it moves last most of the time and it guarantees dies to Subzero.

Muk @ Black Sludge
Ability: Sticky Hold
EVs: 200 HP / 48 Atk / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Careful Nature
- Gunk Shot
- Pain Split
- Sleep Talk
- Haze / Ice Punch / Power-Up Punch

We have another Special Oriented attacker, so as usual im gonna put in Muk as a COUNTER. This is a set Ive been using to counter (with some RNG) Lilli for a while, so i threw 8 EVs into speed to outrun Sir Guzzington here. Muk will (in theory) never die to anything Guzzington hits it with (Max Roll Crit Z can kill if rocks are up) and will just sit there and out-fat it forever.
252+ SpA Guzzlord Devastating Drake (195 BP) vs. 200 HP / 252+ SpD Muk: 205-243 (51.1 - 60.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery
0- Atk Guzzlord Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 200 HP / 0 Def Muk: 120-142 (29.9 - 35.4%) -- 27.5% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery

Note that Muk doesnt really do jack back to Guzzingtons, so the ATK EVs can be thrown into defense to take Knock better. Its also a moderate momentum drain due, but Gunk Shot isnt the most fun move to switch into for PU either, so some damage is coming out.

Also why dont I have my 1 Assassin point from the last time I used Muk to counter Simisear

EVs: 168 HP / 252 SpA / 88 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 1 Atk

Not a lot of counters yet so submitting Probopass as a counter. It can switch into a Z-Drake from Guzz for like 40% max and utilise Leftovers and Pain Split to outlive the Guzz thanks to it's gargantuan HP stat while dishing out Flash Cannons which hit for about 30% each turn. I put 4 extra EVs from HP into Speed allowing Probo to speed creep.

252+ SpA Guzzlord Devastating Drake (195 BP) vs. 168 HP / 0 SpD Probopass: 100-118 (33 - 38.9%) -- 11.2% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Assault Vest Kecleon is a counter to Dragonium Z Guzzlord, as it can tank any hit, and Drain Punch in return for solid damage and great healing due to Guzzlord’s massive HP stat. It’s annoyed by Knock Off, but can still survive a Z-Draco Meteor without Assault Vest from full, which isn’t unrealistic, as Kecleon is also faster, so it can Drain Punh before getting hit.

252+ Atk Protean Kecleon Drain Punch vs. 0 HP / 136 Def Guzzlord: 48 - 56.5% (46.3 - 54.6% recovered)

Modest Nature

The very forgotten offensive Articuno can easily check Guzzlord. With rocks up, its guaranteed OHKO with ice beam, and even without its a respective 75% chance for OHKO. In case you need to keep extra dmg as hidden as possible, you can easily run expert belt for example against aggrons and a-slash's which is also a respective OHKO with hidden fighting.

Articuno clicking buttons with orb:
Hurricane 58.4 - 69.1%
Ice Beam 95.7 - 112.9% (75% chance to OHKO, guaranteed with rocks)

Choice Specs Mesprit is a pretty cool wallbreaker in the tier thats able to do great amounts of damage while still providing HW support as well as pivoting. The set shown above is the one that’s recommended in the analyses but Mesprit as a whole is an incredibly dynamic Pokemon. I wouldn’t dislike the idea of U-turn or Grass Knot in one of these slots, but it can all be customized by the player depending on what the team requires.

With Timid Mesprit, the player is able to OHKO Guzzlord with Dazzling and do 70% damage with Ice Beam. Assuming the Guzz is Z, the only way in which it can OHKO Mes is with a Z draco, which has a 43% chance to OHKO. This Mes functions as a nice check to Guzz and it can also function as a good surprise factor against many teams that might not expect its damage output.

252 SpA Choice Specs Mesprit Dazzling Gleam vs. 0 HP / 60 SpD Guzzlord: 680-800 (115.8 - 136.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 160 SpA / 96 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald

Poliwrath is a decent check to Guzzlord, being able to take Draco at least once, and likely more if you play smartly with your Leftovers recovery.
Focus Blast 2HKOs, or you can put it on a timer with Toxic. Protect almost entirely prevents the Z move (though you just barely live from full without) and can help regen health lost.

- Drain Punch
- Ice Hammer

AV Crab is a pretty spicy check, sure it can't come in as reliably as AV Hitmonchan can but unless rocks are up and the Guzz perfectly predicts Blast->Draco your crab is sticking around barring very lucky rolls (or it doubles into Heavy Slam with Rocks up). As long as Crab is in Guzzlord is pretty heavily pressured to switch lest Guzz takes a Drain Punch for 70% or so of its HP while Crab recovers half of his own HP (!!!) allowing Crab to consistently 1v1 as Guzzlord cannot reliably deal more than the Drain Punch heal damage to Crab after it uses Z. Or you can just go for Ice Hammer if you're predicting a switch and just want to smash something, and even if Guzz stays in he takes 85% or so, leaving him at easy bake U-Turn revenge range.

4+ Atk Iron Fist Crabominable Drain Punch vs. 0 HP / 136 Def Guzzlord: 366-432 (62.3 - 73.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (45.9 - 54.2% recovered)
