Python's Rain Dance Team. Help me. I am trying to make the #1 team!

Hi. This is going to be my first team. XD

385.png

Serene Grace / Damp Rock
240 HP / 56 ATK / 76 DEF / 136 SPEED

Thunder
U-Turn
Rain Dance
Wish

This is my lead. Ok. :) I like this as a lead because once in rain dance Thunder doesn't miss and it has a 60% paralysis.Really the kick-off point for remaking the whole team--I used to use Bronzong for my Rain Dancing needs, but it was just too slow and predictable, since every Bronzong and their grandmother uses support moves. Jirachi's at least fast enough to do stuff. Rain Dance + Damp Rock = 8 turns to rampage. Thunder to abuse perfect accuracy and Serene Grace's 60% paralysis chance, . Wish is there for team healing, but I'm open to other options. U-Turn is a must have.

230.png

Swift Swim / Life Orb
120 HP / 254 SPA / 136 Speed
Modest

HydroPump
Rain Dance
Hidden Power Electric 70
Ice Beam

This is my sweeping tank. CMT at the damage it does. It is awesome! Basically it sweeps till it dies because of Life Orb. This little dragon is a beast in the rain. It outspeeds everything and even deoxys within the rain. The Hidden Power Electric 70 is there to stop things like gyrados.

459.png

Dry Skin / Black Sludge
Modest ( Sorry but its the only Toxicroak I got )
252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Substitute
Focus Punch
Sucker Punch
Stone Edge

This is my physical sweeper and my staller if needed. Dry skin + Black Sludge instantly heals my substitute and I will Focus Punch when I get the chance. This is perfect for taking out things like Blissey, Togekiss and flying pokemon.

245.png

Pressure / LeftOvers
252 HP, 252 DF, 6 SpA
Calm

Calm Mind
Surf
Sleep Talk
Rest

This is a must have after watching Bentendo1's videos. Its my tank to take hits and attack back twice as hard! I also like this because when I face things like yanmega or gengar I can switch this in to take a Hypnosis.

242.png

Natural Cure / Left overs
Bold
252 Def / 40 SpA / 216 SpD

Thunder Wave
Seismic Toss
Soft Boil
Ice Beam

This nurse is my main tank to obsorb electric attacks and special attacks.

251.png

Natural Cure / Leftovers
242 HP/56 SAtk/212 SDef
Relaxed

Leech Seed
Substitute
Psychic
Calm Mind

This is my electric absorber and to leech off people! Pretty random Poke pulled from the general vicinity of my ass, really just some defense that's helped by rain (in this case, nulling the Fire weak). SubSeeding = sex, Grass Knot for damage, and Heal Bell for no reason whatsoever. The most disposable member of the team. Anything is probably better than this thing, here.

Sorry for the short explainations. I am a very bad battler that needs a lot of help. Every single post is appreciated. Thank you!!

You have to give us EVs/Natures/Proper descriptions of your Pokemon in order for us to give you a good rate.

Ok so first off Jirach has no reason to use those Attack EVs (they were for Heracross anyways IIRC) so you can ditch them into either defenses or just splat it into Special Attack (or Speed, whichever you prefer).

Toxicroak should use an Adamant nature and the reasons are obvious. If you don't have it right now (which is understandable if you're creating a WiFi team) list the right nature anyways.

Okay, so I'm going to list some more Pokemon that could optionally work in this team so yeah. If you're scared to death of Electric attacks pack Electivire in the team. Given that he has a Speed boost and a boosted Thunder he can work decently. Remember however that Flamethrower is going to be generally useless in the rain but I'd still pack it. Don't worry much about the Flamethrower ordeal either as far as base power goes. For reference Thunder has 180 BP and Flamethrower has 190 BP if hit for Super Effective so it's a 10% difference really. For others there's Ludicolo which can be an excellent addition as he's nasty with STAB Grass moves as well as Water moves. An excellent Special Sweeper once Blissey is down. Finally there is Kabutops which is virtually unstoppable in the rain once he gets a Swords Dance and carries Stone Edge, Waterfall, and X-Scissor (only resisted by Empoleon but who cares about Empy?)

Finally I quickly realized that the way you used Kingdra isn't the best. Used the mixed variant so you're not easily walled by Blissey (Waterfall / Rain Dance / Hidden Power Electric / Surf). You can ditch Surf for Ice Beam but I guess it's optional. I also realize the lack of set-up and I think you should have at least 3 Pokemon set up Rain to stay effective so think about that.

Nice use of Suicune in the team by the way. Double-STAB Surfs and Calm Mind are hard to stop (note that if you can get Bold so you take Garchomp better).

The biggest problem I see here is that your Kingdra is Modest leaving it no reliable way to get past Blissey. I prefer a mixed set to take out pokes on both ends of the defensive spectrum. You can replace Rain Dance as Kingdra really shouldn't be setting up the rain for itself in my experience.

Modest Toxicroak really just isn't working. This is a competive site so if you want a physical attacker, use the appropriate nature. Otherwise, I guess you should just go for the Nasty Plot set.

When I used a Rain Dance team, I found something that can clean up to be invaluable. Deoxys-e comes to mind seeing as it can also setup the Rain for the other members of the team and can Taunt to allow them an unstatised switch-in.

While Blissey is fine, I hope that you remember that Ludicolo can take some serious hits in the rain. It's ability Rain Dish gives it a 12.5% recovery every turn and then Leftovers brings that up to close to 20%. With Leech Seed and Substitute, it can take out most of the major special attackers with ease while still breaking down the walls. I normally ran Surf and Grass Knot/Giga Drain for the other two slots but there are plenty of other options as well including Ice Beam and Rain Dance.

Just for the record, however, you currently have absolutely no defense against SD Luke if the Rain isn't up. Gyarados and Zapdos could both fit this team quite well to remedy this problem. They are both great defensive tanks that could get the job done.

All-in-all, it looks pretty good but I think these changes could potentially help improve your win rate.

I think Bronzong>Jirachi could really be more beneficial. It gives you a more solid Weavile counter, plus beats most Garchomp and Tyranitar. It can either set up Stealth Rock or put something to sleep, either way, these support options usually outweigh a lead Jirachi.

If you have time, breeding for Adamant Croagunks could be useful. But if you can't be bothered, you might have to leave it as it is or replace it...

But if it isn't Lv100, you could de-EV it using the berries, then make it a NPlot set like on the smogon analysis. But IMO most of the time a physical set is more useful

I would heavily suggest putting in a Ludicolo if you are using a raindance team. Ludicolo can recover 4 times in a turn if rain is active and it's an amazing special attack wall.
