I apologize if this isn't the right section to ask, but I've googled searched and everything, and I still can't find the answer. I am desperate.

Before the summer started, my hair began to fall out. Not just as in it randomly falls out hair by hair but piece by piece instead. It has increased in frequency over the summer and into the new school year. Even worse is, my hair bends at these little white spots and break apart right at these little white spots. I'm the type of guy who sports his hair medium ish long (think fob asian, but not that long), and having one side of my hair shorter (it's happening on one side, like beneath the exterior of my hair, inside, all the hair have freakishly gained white spots EVERYWHERE). I can now just bunch my hair up, and pull, not from the roots but from the middle, and my hair will give way, pulling up a disgusting bunch of hair with white spots on them.

I seriously need help. I've tried googling, and nothing has shown up. Please, if anyone in Smogon knows anything about this, could you just lend me some advice? All I do is shampoo and condition my hair every few days. Previously, when this started, my dad told me that i was shampooing my hair too often (everyday in the morning), and told me that was damaging my hair. So I stopped and did it every two to three days. It still hasn't stopped.

So I'm really in a jam, so please, could someone help me out here?

Oh fuck.

No nosebleeds. Only time I had one was I hit myself into a wall ( don't ask).

So essentially, there's no cure for this, and I might end up bald (if I read the article right)? Wow.

Thakns for the heads up. Time to go see a doctor. Now.

Edit: Looking at google images, I don't think that's it. There are no bald spots in my hair. All it is is that one side of my hair has white spots on it, and falls out easily, not from the roots, but from the middle (the roots are not pulled out)

Well, for my cousin, his hair has yet to grow back consistently, so he shaves his head. Considering he's only about 11 years old, he looks like a cancer patient, but he'll grow into it once he looks a bit older. They've tried Rogaine, but it hasn't worked.

But yeah, go see your doctor. Smogon and the internet can only tell you so much.

I'm a little curious as to why you haven't gone to a doctor yet. Go now, don't ask people on Smogon who aren't doctors who will either google "hair loss" and give you the first result or give you advice based on how their friend's friend got it etc.

Shampooing your hair wouldn't damage it like that, and if it did, decreasing frequency would do nothing to stop it.

How old are you?

Being bald isn't so bad ;)

But you should still see a doctor. What you're experiencing is obviously not typical male balding.

You need to see a doctor.

This is the social section of Smogon University forums, not WebMD.
