Rain dance team

Gluttony (Politoed) @ Choice specs

Trait: Drizzle

EVs: 200 HP / 56 Def / 252 SAtk

Modest Nature

IVs: 30 Atk / 30 SAtk

- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Perish Song
- Focus Blast

Typical rain team drizzle inducer. i think this one works fine but any advice is accepted

Edit: giving it choice specs and replace hypnosis with perish song to counter baton pass team and hidden power grass with focus blast.

Wrath (Gyarados) @ Choice scarf

Trait: Moxie

EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd

Adamant Nature

- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Ice Fang

Replaced azumarill with moxie gyarados as from @arthur_Dayne's advice . its typing prevent GRASS pokemon to dominate me. flying also prevent earthquake to sweep me. i've tried it a couple times and it works well so far.

replaced band with scarf, to replace scizor's role of revenge killer. moxie is awesome with scarf.

Sloth (Dragonite) @ Leftovers

Trait: Multiscale

EVs: 252 HP / 128 Atk / 128 SAtk

Quiet Nature

- Hurricane
- Thunder
- Roost
- Dragon tail

my mixed bulky sweeper. give me counter for celeby, chansey, and vaporeon. multiscale is great to scout and allow him to not die easily. leftover for survivability.

Edit: investing a few atk EV to dragonite, giving it dragon tail to counter sweeper.

i tried switching dragonite with tornadus and chansey-vaporeon wish/protect/toxic stall keep on sweeping me down. so i invested a few EV. beside this dragonite can utilize rain perfectly and multiscale allow dragonite to be used to tank down life-orb sweeper who already have some calm mind/ sword dance.

Pride (Jolteon) @ Choice specs/B]

Trait: Volt Absorb

EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd

Modest Nature

- Thunder
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Shadow Ball

With the change of azumarill to gyarados, i got too many electric weakness. so i put in jolteon instead in place of ferrethorn. beside the grass weakness are not as much now that gastrodon and azumarill is replaced

I've tried SpD rotom-W but it cant do much since his resistance to thunder is basically x1. since theres a lot of thunder weakness in this team i figure i need something exclusive.

Envy (Toxicroak) @ Black Sludge

Trait: Dry Skin

EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd

- Drain Punch
- Substitute
- Bulk up
- Sucker Punch

i put him because he works wonder to beat up psychic pokemon and staller. choice scarf earthquake user pawned him bad tho. i usually use dragonite to counter choice scarf earthquake

Edit: replaced sword dance with bulk up in accordance to @red3mpti0n's advice, allowing me to spam bulk up when facing physical damage user and recover using rain dish and smudge

Sloth (Forretress) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spd

- Rapid Spin
- Pain Split
- Toxic Spikes
- Gyro Ball

changed scizor for ferrethorn because the stealth rock 25% damage to gyarados and dragonite is incapacitating. toxic spikes can also be awesome if the enemy dont have non-flying toxic pokemon. 0 speed IV for maximum gyro ball damage, pain split for sustainability
Edit : change bug bite with superpower and giving it life orb, following JediStateOfMind's and Red3empti0n's advice

so i think its one of most balanced team that i make but it still need considerable help.

im kinda new at pokemon competitive scene, started playing it a few months ago. i tried this team a few time, sometimes it works well sometimes it dont.

any advice? :)

Err Drizzle =/= "Rain Dance team"

I'd recommend for that Poli build you might as well slap on Choice Specs so it hits harder, you can keep Hypnosis if you want, but Specs Focus Blast can OHKO Tyranitar and is great for the surprise factor.
Your scizor should have a CB for that set, scrap the Bug Bite for Superpower, and go Adamant. If you want him as a tank get Roost instead of Bug Bite, but keep him Adamant and slap on a Life Orb instead of Leftovers.
Your Gastrodon has only a Hidden Power as an attack? You don't need Protect/HP Electric and Serious nature wtf? Put him on Bold if you want him to tank more physically or Calm for special. Give him Earth Power and Ice Beam.
Azumarill himself doesn't have much to do besides CB set, and you should give those Spd EV's to HP.

Idk your team has no hazard nor spins nor true tanks, it's nothing special. Your sets are odd and mostly ineffective, Dragonite Superpower with 0 atk EV's and Calm nature isn't going to break anything, give it a neutral nature and SOME attack EV's. All your pokemon are slow and bulky, leaving you little leeway on revenge killing besides Scizor (which you gave no Attack EV's)... sorry but this team is just a mess.

thanks for the kind reply, yes it is a mess. thats why im trying to fix it :p

ill try to apply some changes that you recommend. hope this work out :)

You have little or no resistance to flying and electric and rock, which means that thundurus-t an Tornadus-t can sweep with thunder and hurricane.
I have no idea what to suggest to fix it without changing the team too much.
You need something to resist those types, and something with a decent speed.

What, no Jynx in your "Seven Deadly Sins" rain team? Almost seems wrong to be missing a little "Lust." :naughty:

But anyway, I'll kinda be working off the previous posts and I'll put my thought on each Pokemon separately:

Politoed - Standard set is standard, but it works. Not much to say here except that it sets up rain. All its moves are pretty interchangeable on bulky spreads. Maybe Perish Song over HP Grass for Baton Pass teams, set-up sweepers and stall in general. Focus Blast is an option for things like Tyranitar, as kaki suggested, as well as things like Ferrothorn and Blissey. Also wondering: are the Def EVs for something specific?

Azumarill - Personally, I've never liked any of the gems, but some can attest to their usefulness. This set is decent too. Maybe Substitute over Superpower since a Huge Power, Rain-boosted Aqua Jet can force a lot of switches, easing prediction while Azumarill is behind a Substitute. Water/Normal coverage is only resisted by Ferrothorn and Jellicent in OU. If you do that, I'd use Leftovers over Water Gem to yield more potential Substitutes.

Dragonite - Superpower hurts Tyranitar, but without attack investment, that's the extent of its usefulness. Maybe Dragon Tail/Roar instead to stop set-up sweepers.

Gastrodon - This set is a mess. If you want to patch up the glaring weaknesses tintinwong addressed, try either Standard Ferrothorn or SpD Rotom-W. Ferrothorn's Fire weakness is halved in the rain, can set up hazards and can spread status and Leech Seed. It covers your Electric and Rock weaknesses as well. Rotom-W on the other hand, can abuse the rain with Hydro Pump, can also spread status and can gain some offensive momentum with Volt Switch. It resists the ever-popular Flying moves tossed around in OU and fairs well against the Therian formes.

Toxicroak - Toxicroak appears to be more defensive on your team so I recommend Bulk Up over Swords Dance, maxing its HP and SpD and using a Careful nature. This thing is such a pain to take down after a few boosts.

Scizor - Scizor isn't revenge-killing even half of what it could be without significant Attack investment. Pretty much what kaki said: definitely max Attack and an Adamant nature to get the most out of Bullet Punch. Choice Band and Life Orb boost its attack even further. Both offensive and bulky spreads work on Scizor so I'll let you choose which. For revenge-killing, you could even replace Scizor with a Choice Scarf user like Genesect or Thundurus-T if you feel immediate speed is necessary.

Every team enjoys hazard, Rapid Spin and cleric support so all those are options too. That's my two cents but see what you can come up with.

i think i can handle flying just fine with scizor. electric and rock however used to be a problem. i put jolteon to handle electric and rock can be handled with superpower-dragonite
