This is my team.

I started off trying to create a team not too awful long ago, it was a difficult road due to my many superficial issues. I don't like a lot of the "good" pokemon (Such as Rotom, Ferrothorn, and Chansey/Blissey to name a few), and I desire color schemes and other themes when doing any sort of thing like this. With some help from several people on the site and in IRC, this is the final version. In the end, the team is following a ROYGBV color scheme (Hence Rainbow) and it includes one pokemon from each of the six generations. In addition, there is one pokemon with one "horn" (Read: Pointy thing on their head, ears count), two pokemon with two "horns" and three pokemon with three "horns". The core of this team is Charizard and Tyranitar, and hence why the team is called
Sirocco. The two work well together to cover each other's weaknesses, reset the weather, and take out problem pokemon for each other such as Latias and Ferrothorn respectively. Following those two I added Latias, who works as a fantastic hazard remover; a role that is basically required on this team. Gliscor came next as my physical wall as well as one of my answers to opposing Bisharp who attempt to come in on Defog. Then Keldeo was added in order to fully remove the Bisharp threat, as well as wreak havoc on other problem pokemon such as Chansey, Blissey and Mega-Mawile. Finally I noticed that I was a little weak defensively with no status inflicting moves, and thus Aegislash was added.

I have taken advice to swap Bisharp for Latias and Latios for Keldeo, this gives me more bulk and a better way of handling Bishap/Mawile, but I lose my set up sweeper. Should I make Aegislash my set up sweeper with Autotomize|Shadow Ball|Sacred Sword|HP Ice or leave him as a bulky attacker?

Thoughts on this? Comments, questions, concerns? Please post them.

Below you will find my sets and descriptions for each pokemon.

Latias

Levitate

Timid (+Spe| -Atk)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
252 SpA | 4 SpD | 252 Spe
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Draco Meteor | Thunderbolt | Roost | Defog

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Latias is my Defogger, I use her to remove any hazards that threaten my team or Charizard specifically. She soaks up resisted hits from a lot of special attackers and hits back hard, taking out key threats such as opposing Charizard, Keldeo, Rotom-W, and Mandibuzz. I chose Roost over Healing Wish to give her the longevity to stand up to those threats, since Life Orb recoil and damage from Sandstorm can add up fast. I chose Thunderbolt over Psyshock because I don't really have any trouble with Mega-Venusaur or Chansey/Blissey thanks to Keldeo.

Charizard

Drought
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Modest (+SpA | -Atk)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
252 SpA | 4 HP | 252 Spe
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Fire Blast | Solar Beam | Focus Blast | Roost
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Charizard is as standard as standard can be pretty much. He's a bulky special attacker like Latias, but hits much harder and with better coverage. I chose Focus Blast over my other options because I don't struggle with Mega-Venusaur enough to use Air Slash, and Dragon Pulse feels much too weak (Plus I have Tyranitar to deal with Dragonite and Lati@s). I chose roost over other coverage options because it helps tremendously late game, after Latias has died. It is fairly easy to come in on something that is afraid of Charizard, Roost, and be back at full health for whatever they throw at me.

Aegislash

Stance Change

^^^^^^^^^^^^
Quiet (+SpA | -Spe)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
244 HP | 12 Atk | 252 SpA
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
King's Shield | Shadow Ball | Iron Head | Toxic
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Aegislash works as sort of a bulky pivot generally. His power and defenses make him a significant threat while also spreading Toxic around. Toxic is the only status I have on my team, and it really helps wear down threats. I chose Iron Head over Sacred Sword due to the fact that I have no other Steel moves on my team, and Clefable is a pain otherwise. I decided against outspeeding Sassy Tyranitar with the 12 speed EVs as without Sacred Sword I have no chance of OHKOing it. This way Tyranitar will always 3HKO me, and during that time I can Toxic it and use Iron Head to weaken it significantly before switching out.

647-r.png

Keldeo
choicespecs.png

Justified
^^^^^^^^^^^^
Timid (+Spe | -Atk)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
252 SpA | 4 SpD | 252 Spe
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Hydro Pump | Secret Sword | HP Flying | Scald
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Keldeo works similar to Charizard, except with different coverage. Keldeo's moves allow it to threaten Charizard's main counters such as Blissey, Chansey, and Tyranitar, which helps a lot. He's also very powerful in his own right, and can threaten a ton of pokemon such as Bisharp and Mega-Mawile (Even at +2). I chose HP Flying over Icy Wind in order to take down Mega-Venusaur, as I have better ways of taking out opposing Lati@s.

248.png

Tyranitar
choicescarf.png

Sand Stream
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Naive (+Spe | -SpD)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
252 Atk | 4 SpA | 252 Spe
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Stone Edge | Pursuit | Ice Beam | Earthquake
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Tyranitar is my revenge killer and Pursuit trapper. He takes out threats notable threats such as Lati@s, Starmie, and Gengar. Lati@s is especially important, as it allows for Keldeo and Charizard to have a much better time. He carries Ice Beam over Crunch in order to surprise enemy Gliscor, Landorus, and Garchomp who think that it's a free switch in. I chose Icebeam over Fireblast since I have no trouble dealing with Ferrothorn or Skarmory with Charizard.

Gliscor
toxicorb.png

Poison Heal

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Impish (+Def |-SpA)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
244 HP | 56 Spe | 208 Def
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Earthquake | Roost | Stealth Rock | Knock Off
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Gliscor is my physical tank and hazard setter. I chose this set over the SubToxic set as I needed a Stealth Rock setter. Between Sandstorm and Stealth Rock the opponent is taking quite a bit of damage. I chose Gliscor over other physical walls like Lando-T because I don't like relying on Intimidate, especially since my team relies so heavily on Defog, and I enjoy reliable recovery since I have no wish passers. Hippowdon wasn't considered either as I already had Sand via Tyranitar and overall I feel that Gliscor just fits better. I chose Knock Off here to screw over opponents such as Skarmory and Ferrothorn that come in on Gliscor expecting a free switch. The 56 Speed EVs are to outspeed Bisharp and other neutral base 70's. I choose

Just out of curiosity, why would you want to outspeed Tyranitar? If you didn't kill him, you would be in sword form and you would die. Great team though. I really wanted a Bisharp on my team, but I don't own Black or White 2, so I can't get Knock off on him.

If it's Sassy TTar then it's probably Assault Vest with Pursuit|Earthquake|Stone Edge|Ice Beam/Fire Blast.

252 SpA Aegislash-Blade Sacred Sword vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Tyranitar: 404-476 (100 - 117.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

And that's with Max HP, which it might not run.

Earthquake will OHKO me if I can't kill it, but it's unlikely that I won't kill it.

Also I like your avatar.

First of all, did you use the guide from Force Of Nature? Im guessing you did...
Second, no offense, but you really need to screw the color scheme thing. It's cool and all, but it really holds back and team building. I recommend you make the latias-keldeo change. It will help. A LOT. Keldeo works great on char-y teams.
Third, you should credit the creator of Force of Nature for the guide.
That's all i got; I hope I helped.

I didn't use the Force of Nature guide. I have seen that guide and posted in it, and talked to Valentine, but I did not use it in the creation of this team. I made this team before that guide was released, and just didn't post it until now. I did make some recent changes (I had Latias/Thundurus-T in there instead of Bisharp and Latios) but those changes weren't inspired by the guide. In fact I posted in that thread talking about my team and how it was similar.

The only people who helped with my team were a couple of people on IRC, and Trinitrotoluene. I do however thank Valentine, because while their guide did not help me create my team, it did help me to understand what each of the pokemon did really well. I learned a bit from reading it since I'm new to competitive battling, but I didn't rip it off or get influenced by it. Valentine's team only has 3 of the same team members as my team, and didn't mention Gliscor at all in the guide until I pointed him out.

If I make the Keldeo/Latias change then I will still retain the gen 1-6 thing and the color scheme. I don't see how it's hurting me very much, and it took me a long time to do, so. Also I don't want to change it haha.

Anyway, can you give some more arguments about the change? I'm nervous about losing my set up sweeper, will Keldeo be able to sweep fairly well?

Well first of all, Keldeo has amazing synergy with Char-Y. It also helps with the pink blobs (secret sword i think? or is it sacred?), and has potential to lure out a Mega Venusaur, which seems to wall your whole team (Charizard has no flying moves), and use HP Flying. Losing a set up sweeper? Hmm.... well you can run a CM set on latios :D Besides, Char-y is a very straight forward pokemon, sure it might be bulky offense, but it doesn't appreiciate the loss in momentum when it pauses to set up. Defog and Bisharp work hand in hand, needing no set up, but keep in mind that other teams will keep counters. I, personally, like to run unusual sets that the opponent is not expecting, such as rypherior in OU and bulk up 0 atk ev Talonflame (the rest of the evs are in hp, speed, and divided into defenses). The opponents will not expect a calm mind latias while they switch into something that will tank the predicted draco meteor while you get set up, or keldeo by itself because the rain has been nerfed. I recommend CM Latias and Specs Keldeo. Sorry for the big read, but that's all my reasons. As of now >:D

You make good points, I usually don't have trouble with Mega-Venusaur though, as Charizard can 2HKO with Fire Blast, but the accuracy does make that a little hard. I don't like the idea of CM Latias, it's really just asking to get pursuit trapped also it's moveset would have to be CM/Draco/Defog/Roost, which means fairy pokemon would poop on it even more. If I use Latias/Keldeo then I'll be forgoing a sweeper unless I use Aegislash (I used him as an Autotomize sweeper for a bit, which worked pretty good). I do not mind switching Latios for Latias, and I do like what Keldeo brings to the table. With the extra bulky from Latias I can maybe run Autotomize Aegislash or just forgo having a set up sweeper on my team. What do you think?

If I use Latias it will be this set:
Offensive Defog
########
name: Offensive Defog
move 1: Defog
move 2: Draco Meteor
move 3: Roost / Healing Wish
move 4: Thunderbolt / Psyshock
ability: Levitate
item: Life Orb
nature: Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Also I wanted to point this out haha:
Me too Lasagne, except mine has a couple different 'mons as well. I think you were in IRC when I was getting help with my team! It turned out a lot like these guidelines though so I'm not sure if I should put it in another RMT post because I feel like I'll get yelled at for copying lol (Even though I didn't, my team was complete minus some set tweaking before I even looked at this thread ;o ). I want to post it though because I have a really awesome name for it xD My team also follows a ROYGBV color scheme and has one pokemon from each generation! It's pretty cool haha ;P

I knew someone would ask me about it xD

Ah, I use a similar team. The only exceptions would be an AVTTar with special attack investment so Ice Beam can OHKO what it needs to, KSAegi with Ironhead, offensive Latias, SpecsKeldeo, and a LeadGarchomp. Did it for the 1 pokemon from each generation too lol.

Cool ^^ I prefer to have a little more bulky than Garchomp/AVTTar, TTar is still passively very bulky without AV (While fulfilling like 3 other roles), and Gliscor becomes a major pain in the butt to anyone really.

In other news, I've made the change to Latias/Keldeo as I was advised to. I'm still on the fence about changing Aegislash to an Autotomize sweeper to make up for the loss of Bisharp. Thoughts?
