Rarely Used (RU) Tier

I Was thinking if Tauros was gonna run Flamethrower/Fireblast., might as well run a mixed set.

[SET]
name: Work Force
move 1: Work Up
move 2: Rock Climb
move 3: Earthquake /Bulldoze
move 4: Fire Blast
nature: Naive / Hasty
ability: Sheer Force
evs: 4 Att / 252 Spe / 252 SpA

The EV's could sue a Little tweeking depending who you want to KO from which side of the defensive Spectrum.

Normal/Ground on the physical side lets you hit everything neutrally except Haunter, Gastly, Misdreavus, Drifblim, Drifboon, Archeops, Solrock, Lunatone and Aerodactyl (when it drops to RU)

All are fairly uncommon in RU (you could hit them with Fire Blast as a last resort) although Aerodactyl could become popular in which case the mix set would not work as well.

What do people think about large baton pass chains in RU? I've recently had some hilarious encounter with those. I mean, with SmashPass / or Amnesia/Iron Defense Gorebyss, Smeargle, and a tier where Mr. Mime's stats are legitimately not lacking... I don't see a single reason why those shouldn't be any less annoying than those in OU, perhaps with the exception of Espeon. But Mr. Mime + Ingrain Smeargle does achieve the same result.

I don't know.
Never faced a BP team in RU, so I can't really help you there.
I wouldn't like to use a BP team myself, mainly because it requires a lot of predicting and all, not to mention the huge weakness to phazing. I think Cradily will be quite useful in BP teams from my perspective, though. Mainly because of Suction Cups.

The early days of RU i used play with a BP team, I think I had Smeagle, Ninjask and Venemoth and Medicham as my sweeper. I can't remember the last two pokemon I had, probably Drifblim or Togetic to attempt to wall Yanmega.

I really wanna tryout Torkoal,Slowking,Mantine and so much more,I was great fan and good battler of 4th gen NU so this is gonna epic

From my experience, Tauros has seldom opportunity to set up. 75/95/70 allows him to take a weak hit, but he won't be surviving long. Also, by using a mixed Work Up set you lose the valuable QuakeEdge (or Bulldoze/Rock Slide) combo that Tauros enjoys. Though Normal/Ground gives him decent neutral coverage in this tier, Tauros needs the super effective coverage he gets from Rock Slide to deal with the bugs. In all actuality, the only reason I run Flamethrower on Tauros is to pick off Durant or to hit a Steel on a predicted switch.

waiit.. there arent any notable steels that arent hit supereffectively by fire blast, is there?
durant is gunna be uu soon anyways

i would only run that in ou with ferrothorn bronzong szicor and skarmory everywhere.

There's Ferroseed which is the main thing which, I would have thought, most sweepers would want to get rid of with a Fire coverage move.

edit: I just lost to the most noobish of noob Hail teams... Snover was the MVP, it was that bad. I feel so dirty. Could have 6-0ed the guy but I just don't know why I made the moves I did. This must be what being raped feels like.

I can imagine Dunsparce trolling the tier with Body Slam, Headbutt, Earthquake, and a filler. I'm sure there's something useful in his fairly extensive movepool.

Lol.
But back to topic, I think EQ is far better than Bulldoze, because even with the Sheer Force boost, it still doesn't outdamage EQ.
Also what do you guys think of this?:

Honchkrow (M) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Insomnia
EVs: 128 Atk / 128 SAtk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Brave Bird
- Superpower
- Heat Wave
- Shadow Ball

I used to have SP in the first slot, but seeing how dangerous that is, I went to BB. It's pretty awesome, being able to revenge pokemon at both ends of the attacking spectrum.

252 SpA? Why?

Bulldoze is only useful if he carries Life Orb for negating its damage.
Fire Blast only is useful for Steels with Air Balloon.

The only notable kills a Tauros with Flamethrower/Fire Blast gets is against Durant, Ferroseed, and Tangela. You can use anything you want in that last slot though. Zen Headbutt would probably be more reliable than using a special attack in all actuality.

I'd prefer Rock Slide over Zen Headbutt, as then you'll form the infamous QuakeEdge combo. Then nothing in the tier would resist your attacks. Even though Tangela, Ferroseed and other physically defensive pokemon will still tank your attacks.
And, yes, I see the point of using Fire Blast/Flamethrower, but why do that when someone else can do it better? I see the surprise value as the only thing going for it here, as once your opponent figures out that you lack a certain coverage move, he'll just wall you with something that you take care of otherwise.

max sp.def shit
Coil
Roost
Body Slam
Rock Slide

coil up once or twice, roost back to full health body slam, rock slide

win.

Best dunsparce set=
glare
Headbutt
Rock slide/ bite/ roost
Rock slide/ bite/ roost
I run rock slide and bite with wish support, but roost could work too. I suppose you could use coil, but I prefer coverage and dunsparce really can't afford to set up and risk getting statused. Glare is better than body slam because it has a higher chance of paralysis and can paralyze every type.

Yep, don't forget the lower accuracy and the fact that you lose out on a great STAB move that has a 60% chance to cause paralysis, thanks to Serene Grace. And because of Dunsparce's middling stats, not going with a boosting move is kind of asking for dead weight. IMO Chieliee's set is better, though Bulldoze might be better with Rock Slide for two reasons:
1 It doesn't let Dunsparce get walled by steels.
2 It has great synergy with Rock Slide.

But how do you expect dunsparce to be able to set up without getting destroyed by an attack or statused? There's nothing actually used in ru that dunsparce can safely set up on. Also, attacks that don't flinch or paralyze are useless on dunsparce. About glare, 75% is still more than 60%, and I don't think body slam off base 70 attack is worth a 15% drop and not being able to paralyze ghosts.

Now if it can't survive most attacks, why are we considering Dunsparce to be used then?

Dunsparces defenses aren't really that bad, 100/70/65 is decent. more than enough for me to usually set up and flinch something to death

well, max HP with a little investment in defenses will allow you to take a few hits (dunsparce does have 100 base HP...), and Lum can keep you from status if you're that scared, although Leftovers are the superior choice otherwise.

Edit: Ninjask'd. (which isn't too bad down here, BP's just as well as it did last gen, and requires a bit less skill than it used to IMO)

I use 144hp/252atck/36def/76spdef and it can take most neutral hits easily.

I didn't know that, but since someone said he couldn't "take any hits"...
But Coil does look interesting to be used on Dunsparce. Takes some support, but it can work.
