I haven't competitively battled for a little while, and just recently I put together this team on Showdown. It's been working okay so far, but I was wondering if any of you guys thought of any tweaks for this team.

Alakazam @ Life Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Electric]

I love Alakazam to death in OU. It's ability, Magic Guard, is pretty useful, but I haven't actually had a lot of occurrences where he's actually used it. Psychic just for a powerful stab, might replace with Psyshock, but I haven't needed to yet. Focus Blast and Shadow ball for extremely good coverage, and HP Electric because I didn't really have anything to cover bulky water types like Rotom-W or Gyarados, who are incredibly popular. This is one of the main problems with my team.

Conkeldurr @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Substitute
- Focus Punch
- Mach Punch
- Ice Punch

I love this set for Conkeldurr. Focus punch from Conkeldurr just breaks walls to all hell, and Mach Punch has saved my life multiple times. Ice punch is just to KO any dragon or ground types like Gliscor or Dragonite. The bulkiness also helps him survive a lot of hits and be able to stay in sub long enough to get off a focus punch.

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
- Scald
- Toxic
- Protect
- Wish

Vaporeon is incredibly useful in OU as a wall. With it's more than average HP stat and good special defense, it's probably my favorite wall in OU. Scald is just to attempt to get hax and burn any physical attackers that threaten my team, and toxic is there to wear down any walls that don't natural cure. Wish is helpful for passing over health to any of my other pokes that have been injured earlier in the game, or himself. He can also take any Ice attacks thrown at Landorus-T

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 232 Def / 252 HP / 24 Spd
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Roost
- Whirlwind

Skarmory is an incredible physical wall in OU, and with access to rocks and spikes, it's a goddamn menace to be honest. Plus, it has only two different weaknesses, and a multitude of resistances and an immunity. Plus Whirlwind to send any enemy pokes into rocks and spikes, hurting them drastically.

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Superpower
- U-turn

Landorus-T is a monster with a scarf, outspeeding a large amount of OU with it. It's movepool also has incredible coverage, covering the electric weakness my walls have. U-turn is also pretty helpful of a move. Probably my best sweeper by far.

Infernape @ Choice Band
Trait: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Flare Blitz
- Stone Edge
- U-turn

Banded Infernape can KO a large amount of OU, and in my opinion doesn't really need a scarf as badly as Landorus T does. Flare Blitz and Close Combat for incredibly powerful stab moves, Stone edge for coverage, and U-Turn for a safe switch out or to just finish off an enemy.

My main weakness with this team that I tried fixing was bulky water types. I tried fixing by adding HP Electric, but it doesn't really help as much as I thought it would, considering Alakazam normally dies relatively fast in game.

Thanks for the help! (Couldn't add any photos/gifs for some reason, if you could briefly show how, that'd be appreciated too.

This seems like a decent team. I'm going to say use Signal Beam > Shadow Ball on Alakazam, since it kills Celebi more easily, and HP Ice > HP Electric.

I think you alakazam might benefit from psyshock as that would make it easier for it to work around blissey and chnasey

My post got erased so here's a little breakdown. Psyshock over Psychic. Signal Beam over Shadow Ball for Celebi who is everywhere. Try Energy Ball over HP Electric or Ice. It destroys Gastrodon and hurts Water Types pretty well.

Use a spread of 120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 Special Defense. This cushions him a bit from some special attacks while still boosting his HP to respectable levels. Also try ThunderPunch over Ice Punch for bulky Waters.

That's all my little nitpicky advice for your team. Best of luck! Much Ludvisc!

Hey there PacMan11720. Solid team you have there so far. Welcome back to the competitive scene. Looking over your team, I'm seeing your biggest weaknessed to be Venusaur in the sun, bulky waters (like you mentioned) and Keldeo is a big issue to you if Vaporeon goes down. Hopefully with this rate, we can help remedy those holes.

I suggest trying out Latias over Vaporeon. This helps fixed the issue of Venusaur under the sun. Latias can switch in on +1 Venusaur Sludge Bomb, take another and OHKO with a Psyshock. As well as giving you a solid Keldeo check as well. Resisting both of its STABs and threatening to kill.

Melisandre (Latias) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 112 HP / 144 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Dragon Pulse
- Recover
- Thunder Wave

As for your issue with bulky waters, I recommend Breloom over Conkeldurr. Breloom would give the Spore support and be able to Swords Dance up and devastate any bulky water on the opposing team.

Breloom @ Life Orb
Trait: Technician
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly/Adamant Nature
- Spore
- Swords Dance
- Mach Punch
- Bullet Seed

Some minor set changes.

- Landorus-T's EVs try using 32 HP / 252 Atk / 224 Spe. You can still outspeed base 100's at +1 notably Volcarona and Salamence and having a bit of bulk.

- On Alakazam, Signal Beam ==> Shadow Ball. This allows to kill off Celebi that would other other pose as a wall to Alakazam. Focus Sash over Life orb. The power difference isn't too noticeable and you really should miss it. Focus Sash allows you to take hit live with the sash and continue cleaning up the team late game. Psyshock over Psychic, this hits Terrakion (in sand), Blissey and Chansey for stronger damage than Psychic would. Lastly, Hidden Power Ice over Hidden Power Electric.

Hope this helps, if you need more help just ask. Good luck with the team.

Hey there! This is a pretty cool team you've built! Now, looking over the team, the main weaknesses appear to be a difficulty to break through bulky waters and Sun teams can sweep with Chlorophyll mons pretty easily. Also, Trick Room Reuniclus or another Alakazam, as well as Psychic mons in general incredibly threaten your team. Several fixes can be made to cover these gaps. First of all, I propose also running Latias over Vaporeon. I suggest the LO set, which is an excellent attacker, and also has great defensive typing. The set is as follows:

380.png
Latias @Life Orb

Trait: Levitate
EVs: 72 HP / 184 SpA / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Surf
- Roost

The given HP EVs permit Latias to survive +2 Sludge Bomb from Timid Venusaur. This change makes your team nicer against Sun teams, and it also deals with Keldeo which is irritating for your team to face.

My next change would be to change Alakazam to the Focus Sash set. That is its best set, abusing Magic Guard to keep the Sash intact perfectly, and this allows it to revenge kill any mon it wishes. With this you can revenge kill Terrakion, Keldeo, Dragons, Venusaur, and the list goes on. It is quite possibly the best revengekiller out there, so this change helps you to deal with many threats. The set is simple:

Alakazam @Focus Sash

Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Trait: Timid
- Psyshock
- Signal Beam
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power Ice

Psyshock guarantees an OHKO on Terrakion in Sand, Signal Beam deals massive damage to Celebi, Hidden Power Ice guarantess OHKOs on most Dragons.

I know my rate looks rather similar to Subject 18's, but the best choice to fix your bulky Water problem without amplifying your U-turn weakness. I also recommend Breloom. Breloom fixes so many problems with your team, setting up all over bulky waters, providing Spore support, and also giving you a sweeper. The set is standard:

286.png
Breloom @Life Orb

Trait: Technician
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Nature: Jolly
- Spore
- Swords Dance
- Mach Punch
- Bullet Seed

Now, for a minor switch, I advise switching Spikes for Brave Bird. This is because your team has no spinblocker, which means the Spikes you set up end up being a waste of turns. Brave Bird also hits decently hard and doesn't make you complete Taunt Bait. Overall, this is a pretty cool team. I hope I helped, good luck!

Tl;dr
SashZam > LO Zam
LO Latias > Vaporeon
SD Breloom > Conkeldurr
Brave Bird > Spikes on Skarmory

Hey quick rate but I would get spikes of skarm as you have no spin blocker, and use brave bird instead. Everything else seems to have been covered by other peeps.
