Hello everyone! I was one of the managers of Team Tyranitar this year in RBEL. We had a great campaign that led us to the finals and the biggest reason is that our players really showed up and performed at a great level. If you want any kind of feedback on the ttars players who are trying to be in RBTT, I highly recommend you ask me (or icy). We know them better than anyone else and we'd be happy to share this knowledge with you :tyranitar:

RBTT IX Public Tryouts Results

After a grueling weekend of over 420 games, the RBTT IX Public Tryouts have (mostly) concluded! Thank you to everyone that came out and played! The results have been summarized in this spreadsheet.

Vital Statistics

55 unique participants
~15 (~30%) are known players from RBTT/RBEL
~428 total games (this is a lowball, a couple of missing replays and uncompleted playoffs series)
Roughly 8 games per participant
~237 "high quality" games (defined by playoffs games or Round 4 in Swiss or later)
Roughly 7 high quality games per playoffs participant

Replay Compendium
I've also listed every replay from all livetours in this spoiler, also by Smogon username. Username of the player that won is listed first. For tournaments with Swiss, the replays are listed largely in chronological order.

Shoutouts
Keep in mind that I'm just a washed up Gen 4 (puke) player so nothing I say here is a guarantee that you'll get drafted, but I want to highlight some interesting observations I had while looking at the data.

The RBTT Players - While the main goal is for unknown players to fight for recognition, I still wanted some RBTT players in there to compare tryouters against. Thanks to you guys for showing up; I hope your performances can help contextualize those of the tryouters!

Hammy3581 - RBEL veteran and Midwest player Hammy3581 ranks #12 in Win% (58.82%) overall, but that number shoots up to #4 (71.43%!) when he's against tougher opponents!

glowbrogang - While somewhat unknown in Rands, glowbrogang has put up results in other areas of Smogon and is currently in finals of the one live tournament he joined. Someone to keep an eye on for sure.

Let's Rumble Shall We - After a dominating performance in WCOR2025, Let's Rumble Shall We has similarly ripped up the competition in tryouts, winning a tournament and making it to the finals of a second. I would be shocked if he isn't picked up.

Shadow0709 - As far as I can tell, this is a previously unknown player from the ladder who put up strong results in tryouts, beating Let's Rumble Shall We to win Livetour #1. With 36 games played, there should be plenty for managers to evaluate.

AquaGuy2.0 - AquaGuy didn't have the strongest RBEL last year, but coming in the top 15% of tryouts, perhaps that was a fluke?

Rowlet69420 - Rowlet69420 is truly the MVP of tryouts, having played in all 5 of them, some of which I'm sure were in the middle of the night for him. With 40 games played and a 62.5% overall winrate and a 68% winrate against a tougher crowd (so close to the funny number, should've won more), this is definitely someone to keep an eye on. Get some sleep btw.

TGA, Wishing, Roadto15oo, WarriorGallade - All four of these performed well in one or two tours, but there weren't a lot of games to look at. Hopefully they can flesh out their resumes in other ways!

Hello managers, as promised here are some shoutouts for bssf and then a few for some other tiers:

Bssf:

It's probably pretty obvious but I would recommend to managers but I would recommend first and foremost people who actively play bssf as there is some knowledge to it and it's sets due to the low timer. Picking the mons is also not always that simple.

The must be picked:

IcyPenguin2 yone zioziotrip : these 2 are clear top 4 with me as well. Yone is a monster at bssf and bss while Icy is really really good as well. Ziozio is just someone I rate super highly and has done very well in rbtt 7. Bssf players usally go later in the rounds but these 3 are worth investing earlier than that as they will provide a garanteed at least good record and most probably a score of 5-2 in the regular season.

The ones I would strongly advise to be picked:

Purbaj has impressed me a lot in bsscl being a carry for his team. He learned on the fly and has been going on a rambage. I need to see him on the big stage as he could be that next guy, def draft him. Ina fable has impressed me in the tryout games and made top 1 of the ladder with 50+ more points than the 2nd. She has shown some solid understanding tho she doesn't uses that much timer at team preview so that could bite her back during rbtt. Otherwise def draft her. Satvik may have not played bssf in a while but he went positive last year and helped the suicunes reach finals. A very good option on the team.

The ones I would advise to be picked, new commers who play bssf:
Shynii21 Sylveesnom TheHorrorHare
unaware clodsire
4 players who regularly play bssf. I would rate shynii the best out of the bunch tho clod also did well on the ladder and won the tryout tour. Hare and sylvee are solid options that could work decently but will be on the lower end of the starters but they can be subs not only for bssf but also emergency subs for something like gen 9.

The bss players:
sheepie luisin papiloco Aldrich Ikaishi Staraptor eldids Cao Jie Emboar02 Zoyotte Pinecoishot
All these players play bss tours and could potentially do well in this tho they lack the bssf experience for most of them.

The wildcards: GeniusX Ann LordST Dragonillis Trade
These players either have better tiers or they could do well in this slot or crumble pretty fast. They are high risk high reward.

Some other general shoutouts:
chiefbeef1234 Rising player. Went 3-2 in wcor playing bo5 and made top 1 of the gen9 ladder. Good sv3/ sub.
Hoops good gen 6 starter level. Top 1 with 90+ gxe in gen 6. Knows his stuff well. Has also done pretty well in wcor.
Click>Think good player that knows his stuff. Quite underrated and good sub.
Vioz starter level for gen 6. Top 8 of rands slam.
John Dozo just has to not play TON
Roadto15oo impressed me quite a bit in tryouts
PigWarrior19 good player and plays rands
anankaios top 8 in 2 opens
mdill97 really underrated but has shown some great stuff
BigWes95 did well in tryouts
Michielleus you don't know him but he's pretty decent

Will stop here but there are a lot of great talents. Def give these players a shot. If I didn't mention you it's because either you are already in rbtt in the past or I'm too lazy to scroll 50 pages of posts. Until then have a good one folks
