You have to know that pwning a team with a NU gives more satisfaction than a stupid Standard team.

Yes to 2/3rds of the questions that you mentioned, as both Azumarill and Charizard can very well do those things you mentioned with Belly Drum. Terrible examples.

That being said, the story itself wasn't awful per say, though there were some terrible moves made (switching Kingdra into Garchomp?), but it seemed extremely bland, especially with the lack of substantive commentary. Excessive embellishing that go on for paragraphs among paragraphs isn't any fun to read, but logs are, in my personal opinion, are even less fun to read. Learn to balance the both of them to get the most out of your warstory.

I will commend the author for using non-standard Pokemon with the exception of Skarmory (which'll I'll forgive since I think Skarmory is really cool), and even though he basically only revenge-killed with Sucker Punch, any use of Furrett successfully is an impressive use of Furrett.

You must be so idiotic thinking only standard pokemon can only vs standard pokemon. My team is almost uu/nu. I used furret before and I really enjoyed it. You guys are just blind at the capabilities non standard pokemon can do in OU.

Please be more considerate. Must you make a comment anyway if you didn't enjoy it. Keep negative comments to yourself to show some consideration atleast.

Thanks for resurrecting this lovely "discussion". Also, thanks for showing your ignorance by not even understanding what I said. I'll try to rephrase it so the slower posters can understand.

If a pokemon can do something useful, then assuming you built your team correctly, that pokemon is helping you win, or "doing something useful". Now if you play competitively (ya know, the whole reason this forum exists?), you'll want the best pokemon that can do that "useful" thing. If Furret is 'the best at this useful thing', it wouldn't be UU/NU. IT WOULD BE STANDARD.

A perfect example is what the Furret here is doing, Sucker Punching. Furret is by no means the best Sucker Puncher out there, something like Absol totally destroys Furret. So why bother using Furret in this situation? He isn't 'the best of the best' at doing what you're using him for, so there is no reason to be using him.

Again, people need to understand that Smogon is a COMPETITIVE BATTLING community. COMPETITIVE. COMPETITIVE.

Just because you use some crap UU/NU replacement for a Standards sweeper doesn't make you unique or interesting. Just means you're at the wrong side of the internet.

This entire warstory was complete crap, and a waste of everyone's time. We have the right to tell the topic creator that their warstory is garbage, because it gives them a better idea of what to write next time. Furret is absolutely nothing special whatsoever. Making it out to be anything but useless (or cute) is stupidity.

I think even though Furret is crap, it wasn't actually used to its potential sadly. The only thing I would ever consider Furret for is a fast Trick, that's seems to me like the best it can do...even then there are better things to use. But I suppose if you like Furret and you use it well then it's alright.

Sorry, but it really doesn't get anything that makes it stand out. Heh, but seriously, at least it did DO something in this warstory. I'm sure you'll be able to improve your prediction skills for the warstory you make though. :]

I agree. A lot of the RMTs are like that, as well. "OU is boring, I shall defeat them using UU/NU pokemon because they can defeat OUs too, and aren't booooring!" Well, then, they would be OU, not UU/NU then. And we have a right to tell him it's bad if it is. Furret... well, NOT OU pokemon, never shall be (D/P Metagame). Showcasing him "See he defeated pokemon by doing a niche that's been filled, even though I lost Furret is good and can defeat OU pokemon." =/= interesting or gooid warstory. Sorry.
