I think Suu might have the mind of a child. She's fairly enthusiastic about pretty much everything, doesn't communicate other than bits of words and/or repeating what was just said, and is very overeager in showing her affection... which would be nice if she wasn't doing it by wrapping people in her whatever-dripping tentacles.
Interestingly, she also seems to be able to absorb water to make herself grow bigger, or shrink in size by being dried out.
