Rejected Reduce PP of some moves

Not sure where to post this. I think PP stalling is one of the most anti-competitive unfun aspects of this game. an example is skarmory using non stop whirlwind/taunt/spikes at the end game that prolongs a game an extra 10-20 turns. Other situations pokemon like Skarmory say against reuniclus, 1 pokemon left, can use taunt and then stall out reuniclus by spamming high PP moves endlessly such as spikes/roost.

Of course taunt prevents reuniclus from using calm mind to have a chance at winning, but is able to prolong this an extra 20 turns because taunt and spikes have such absurdly high amounts of PP. This really makes the game unfun. I think moves like spikes/taunt should have PP limited to say, 10 or 15 or so. Thoughts?

Um but what if you run out of PP and you actually need it and this is a Pokemon simulator and this would not be simulating

Showdown simulates the in-game as accurately as can be. Spikes and Roost have the same PP in game as they do on PS. PS just maxes the PP as if a PP Max was used on them
Showdown simulates in game accurately-but also takes into account balance. In the original games you can put all your enemies to sleep, and you can use accuracy-altering moves. These were removed because they make the game frustrating and less competitive-the PP situation here is no different. There is no reason for Spikes or Whirlwind to have 32 PP

The only thing here I think you could even remotely argue for is for moves to not be PP Maxed all the way, so instead of Spikes having 32 PP, it'd have 20. But competitively Struggle is awful and you'd always be at a disadvantage PP stalling against an opponent because you set move PP to lower than the max.

With HP type and Poké Ball options recently added, it's always nice to see more niche options available in the real games being considered. Might be worth rewording the OP so that this can get approved though, lol.

If you're spamming spikes to PP stall, you'll just win the game because you have an absurd 32 PP. Let's say it's down to reinuclus vs skarmory, that's more PP than reinuclu' shadowball+psyshock combined. Skarmory just spams taunt/spikes for 30 turns until reuniclus runs out of offensive PP and loses the game. That's not fun, it's anti-competitive and encourages lame strats.

A few things. Fun is really subjective, and not everybody aims to have fun while playing. Some of us will aim to win no matter what and as this site simulates the cartridge accurately, this is completely legal and just because you think it's unfun it shouldn't be changed. Another note is assuming every offensively oriented Pokemon should have upper hand against every defensive Pokemon. We have checks and counters, certain Pokemon can check certain others, just because Reuniclus cannot touch to a Skarmory with Taunt, you cannot call this a lame strategy. You simply lack the damage, and Skarmory can take on your attacks for your 30 turns. Just because you dot like the strat, Skarmory will not simply hand you over the win by not Roosting / Taunting.

DaWoblefet's suggestion is the only thing that has merit here, and in fact has already been suggested a few times over the years for Wrap and friends in Gen 1, so your opponent never knows how much PP you have left before it rolls over to 63. I'll move that post to its own thread, and I'm closing this one because:
Note: Suggestions for [...] things Pokémon Showdown otherwise has no control over do not belong here.
The OP as it stands is something you complain to Game Freak about, not a simulator of their games.
