Pet Mod Regional Evolutions (Concluded for Generation 8)

I hate to say it, people but... I have to abandon Regional Evolution Pet Mod due to a really lack of coders willing to volunteers and my fall of motivation as a result of a lack of help. While the Pet Mod can stay on for achieving reasons and so they can be used as basis for other Pet Mods, don't expect a playable metagame of Regional Evolutions anytime soon.

However, it was certainly a fun ride. Hopefully my next Pet Mod idea would be much less hassle to code solo. Meanwhile, if someone else is willing to make sure things are coded and take over my lead, let me know.

It’s been more than half of a year. Long time ago, Regional Evolutions were going well. Lots of great ideas, some risking the nerf hammer, other needing some tune-up, but lots of great ideas nonetheless.

This spin-off of Regional Variants had been put to a stop due to lost interest toward coding for indefinite time…

Until now. Because, ladies and gentlemen…

Regional Evolutions Pet Mod is finally being coded!
This is not a dream! With the help of Scoopapa’s tool for the coding, a certain old friend returning to the Pet Mod discord server, charizard8888, is bringing this project back to their foot! We should expect bugs and inconsistencies, but that does means we can iron out what went wrong later on.

So far, only the Kanto Regional Evolutions and possibly the respective regional pre-evos are coded in DragonsHaven after a server restart. The coder is doing one region per day, unless something went really wrong with the coding. Custom moves aren’t coded yet until further notice.

Illegal sets can be used unfortunately as there’s no move validater, so it is a good idea to go with referring the spreadsheet. Here’s a quick link to there!

This means we are officially on the playtesting phase now. If there are anything that strikes you as too powerful, please warn me asap. Have fun!

I may as well say that Ranseian Chansey and Sensey may be dumb, I didn't do them with competitive in mind (beyond being kinda broken while fitting flavor), the former is basically "What if Chansey wasn't outclassed from Blissey by being able to afford Eviolite while ignoring chip with Magic Guard?", and the latter is obscenely fat for an Unaware mon, I doubt any special attacker is breaking that ever (unless you're a Psyshock or Expanding Force mon, lol). WishPort with that bulk also may give Clefable flashbacks to some.
A wide movepool with about everything they'd want doesn't help, Prankster+Mat Block may be funny in doubles while we're on that.

Update: Most of the submissions are now coded in Dragon’s Haven server. I don’t know what are not coded yet, but chances that the custom moves and custom abilities are likely next.

Meanwhile, the Ranseian form of Chansey and it’s evolution, Sensey, will likely have their Abilities changed to be less overbearing to deal with due to their bulk being the exact same of Kanto Chansey and Johto Blissey respectively. Bobsican, if you had idea to replace some Abilities or at least other rebalance ideas, let me know.

Well, first things first, my name is "Bobsican", not "Bobiscan", as the spreadsheet says it incorrectly.

Anyways, replace Magic Guard with Natural Cure, and Unaware with Oblivious, they're more healthy alternatives that still fit flavor, any further actions should only be done if they're still problematic.

And done all that!

I also replaced the Galarian Pawniard’s Guts with Defiant, as Bisharp and Chivalot‘s Attack are already very high (135 and 145 respectively) alongside Steel-typing, plus Chivalot‘s 90 base Speed. I’ll let the coders know about this.

Does this mean that submissions for this Pet Mod will reopen soon?

Also how are you guys going to handle Hisuian Forms?
I rather wait until at least some playtest were done before we reopen.

Hisuian Forms would be simply added once Legends: Arceus gets released, and might place restrictions to match how the Hisuian forms are done.

Would it be inappropriate to ask if maybe we do a slate right now? It has been a while...
In this case, why not.

Hisui Slate
Two particular rules are for this slate this time.
  1. All submissions must be for Hisui, nowhere else. Pokémon that already got Sinnohan forms are not allowed for Hisuian forms.
  2. Starters must be done in trio, each from different regions, and in a traditional triangle (Water / Grass / Fire) while keeping their primary typing, and only the first evolutionary stage (i.e. Pignite, Bayleef) will receive a Hisuian form that then gains it’s own Regional Evolution. During voting slate, the starter trio will be voted as one submission.
Other than that, be sure to read the rules, and have fun expanding on Hisui’s historical previously-undiscovered-until-now set of Pokémon!

baltoy.gif

Let it rip
Pokémon: Baltoy
New Typing: Steel / Psychic
New Abilities: Natural Cure / Sympathetic Veil (Pastel Veil clone, blocks status conditions for Pokemon and allies) (HA)
New Stats: 40/40/55/40/70/55 --> 40/55/75/40/50/40
Removed Moves: All Ground Type Moves
New Moves: Iron Defense, Metal Burst, Magnet Bomb, Mirror Shot, Flash Cannon, Iron Head

Pokémon: Baldogu
New Typing: Steel / Psychic
New Abilities: Natural Cure / Sympathetic Veil (HA)
New Stats: 70/80/135/65/95/65
Removed Moves: All Ground Type Moves
New Moves: Iron Defense, Metal Burst, Magnet Bomb, Mirror Shot, Flash Cannon, Iron Head, Steel Beam, Lucky Chant, Teleport, Heart Shield (King's Shield Clone)

Some scholars theorize the dogū acted as effigies of people, that manifested some kind of sympathetic magic. For example, it may have been believed that illnesses could be transferred into the dogū, which were then destroyed, clearing the illness, or any other misfortune. In Hisui, when the people of Jubilife Village were struggling with illness, Hisuian Baltoy appeared and began to ward off any sort of illness- this was a sign that life could prosper in this new region. Baldogu are primarily used at base camps to keep away any sort of harm, and to promote health in areas where disease is common.

Baltoy's Hisuian form is purple and white, and has a "metallic" shine to it. Baldogu is more humanoid, resembling a dogu- hence, this variant will probably be lewded by the internet because 'big metal mommy'.
purrloin.gif

sprigatito WHO?
Pokémon: Purrloin
New Typing: Electric
New Abilities: Static / Feral (Berserk clone) (HA)
New Stats: 41/50/37/50/37/66 --> 31/40/37/60/37/76
Removed Moves: Dark Type Moves
New Moves: Charge, Eerie Impulse, Electric Terrain, Electrify, Electro Ball, Magnet Rise, Nuzzle, Thunder Wave, Thundershock, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Shock Wave, Spark, Volt Switch

Pokémon: Yoraineko
New Typing: Electric / Ghost
New Abilities: Static / Feral (HA)
New Stats: 64/88/50/88/50/106 --> 50/65/50/111/50/120
Removed Moves: Dark Type Moves
New Moves: Charge, Eerie Impulse, Electric Terrain, Electrify, Electro Ball, Magnet Rise, Nuzzle, Thunder Wave, Thundershock, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Shock Wave, Spark, Volt Switch, Shadow Ball, Shadow Shock (60 BP Special Ghost move that paralyzes), Lick, Ominous Wind

The abilities attributed to bakeneko are various, including shapeshifting into humans, wearing a towel or napkin on the head and dancing, speaking human words, cursing humans, manipulating dead people, possessing humans, and lurking in the mountains and taking wolves with them to attack travelers. This Purrloin variant once graced people with its amusing nature, but the evolution will freely let you die in a ditch. Brutal.

Purrloin now gains a yellow color palette and becomes quadrupedal with 2 tails. Yorineko looks vaguely feminine, and more like a cat version of Boltund.
applin.gif

apply juice :)
Pokémon: Applin
New Typing: Grass / Fairy
New Abilities: Ripen / Regenerator (HA)
New Stats: Unchanged
Removed Moves: -Dragon Type
New Moves: Charm, Fairy Wind

Pokémon: Brillapplin
New Typing: Grass / Fairy
New Abilities: Ripen / Regenerator (HA)
New Stats: 100/90/80/95/90/50
Removed Moves: -Dragon Type
New Moves: Moonblast, Charm, Fairy Wind, Dazzling Gleam, Play Rough, Misty Explosion, Moonlight, Golden Apple (Grass move, 80 BP, either special or physical depending on stats- after using move, Brillapplin will gain a hard hitting stance)

Both gods and mortals coveted the golden apples- for example, the mother goddess Gaia gave as a wedding present to Hera and Zeus. Hisuian Applin were presented as a gift to appease the newest Genie, Enamorous. Brillapplin evolve after being given enough praise (winning 20 battles). Applin will sprout a tiny tree from its golden body, and will have its body grow around the tree. It will kindly offer these apples to passerbys.

ALLLLL THAT SIZE...AND YET THERE'S NO ATTACK-
Pokémon: Onix
New Typing: Rock
New Abilities: Weak Armor / Sturdy / Sand Force (HA)
New Stats: 35/120/85/30/55/60
Removed Moves: - Ground Type moves (except Earthquake and Dig)
New Moves: Dragon Hammer, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Rage, Outrage, Breaking Swipe, Stone Axe

This Onix form is based off the augite stones, the real inspiration for Black Augurite. Augite does not have any physical, optical, or chemical properties that make it especially useful. It is therefore one of the few minerals that has no commercial use. Hence, Onix becomes...uninteresting, and loses a Ground typing.

Pokémon: Onaxe
New Typing: Rock / Dragon
New Abilities: Sheer Force / Sturdy / Sand Force (HA)
New Stats: 75/130/115/55/65/70
New Moves: Dragon Hammer, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Rage, Outrage, Breaking Swipe, Stone Axe

What if we made Steelix...2, but he just had a massive axe for a tail? I kind of wanted this form since Scyther had Kleavor. Black Augurite has to do something BEYOND evolve one Pokemon, right?

mimejr.gif
mrmime.gif

i'm a little lad who loves toxic and sludge
Pokémon: Mime Jr.
New Typing: Poison
New Abilities: Gooey / Stench / Poison Point (HA)
New Stats: 30/35/90/70/45/40

Pokémon: Mr. Grime
New Typing: Poison / Ground
New Abilities: Gooey / Stench / Poison Point (HA)
New Stats: 70/45/120/100/85/40
Removed Moves: -Psychic and Fairy moves
New Moves: Smog, Acid, Acid Spray, Clear Smog, Venoshock, Poison Jab, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Gunk Shot, Corrosive Gas, Gastro Acid, Poison Gas, Toxic, Mud Slap, Mud Shot, Bulldoze, Mud Bomb, Earth Power, Spikes, Mud Guard (Baneful Bunker clone)

In the future, the Crimson Mirelands become parts of eastern Sinnoh, including the Great Marsh and Lake Valor. But now, it's creating these disgusting little Mime Jr and Mr. Grime. Mime Jr and Mr. Grime are born as a result of the toxic environment, and are commonly found in the muddy areas of the map. They can expertly camouflage into their environment and sneak attack others. Design wise, they resemble the Abominations from the Owl House.

mr crime still superior

this was harder than i thought it'd be
Pokémon: Thwackey
New Typing: Grass / Electric
New Abilities: Overgrow / Electric Surge (HA)
New Stats: 70/55/70/85/60/80
New Moves: Charge, Electric Terrain, Magnet Rise, Thunder Wave, Nuzzle, Thunder Shock, Charge Beam, Shock Wave, Rising Voltage, Volt Switch, Discharge, Thunderbolt, Thunder

Pokémon: Rillataiko
New Typing: Grass / Electric
New Abilities: Overgrow / Electric Surge (HA)
New Stats: 100/60/90/125/70/85
New Moves: Charge, Electric Terrain, Magnet Rise, Thunder Wave, Nuzzle, Thunder Shock, Charge Beam, Shock Wave, Rising Voltage, Volt Switch, Discharge, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Boomburst, Noise Blast (Special Electric type move, may cause flinching)

In feudal Japan, taiko were often used to motivate troops, call out orders or announcements, and set a marching pace; marches were usually set to six paces per beat of the drum. It is hardly strange, then, that drums are frequently associated with thunder and, by extension, lightning. It can also be employed aesthetically by having lightning strike anytime a drummer hits their drum, as if inviting it. The drums are sometimes more directly linked by having them be the cause of lightning.

Pokémon: Combusken
New Typing: Fire / Flying
New Abilities: Overgrow / Aftermath (HA)
New Stats: 50/85/60/85/60/65
New Moves: Dual Wingbeat, Gust, Pluck, Air Cutter, Wing Attack, Air Slash, Drill Peck, Bounce, Hurricane, Feather Dance, Roost, Tailwind

Pokémon: Burstaribi
New Typing: Fire / Flying
New Abilities: Blaze / Aftermath (HA)
New Stats: 70/110/70/120/70/90
New Moves: Dual Wingbeat, Gust, Pluck, Air Cutter, Wing Attack, Air Slash, Drill Peck, Bounce, Hurricane, Feather Dance, Roost, Tailwind, Wildfire (Flying type special move, may cause burn)

This creature is based off of a Furaribi- a small, flying creature wreathed in flames. It appears late at night near riverbanks. Burstaribi have an intense rivalry with Samurott's from Hisui, as their territory is usually taken up by them. It is said, if a person does not receive the proper ceremonial service, the remains of your soul will collect with other souls and it will not move on into the afterlife and become a Torchic.

Pokémon: Croconaw
New Typing: Water / Dragon
New Abilities: Torrent / Swift Swim (HA)
New Stats: 65/80/58/63/59/80
New Moves: Scale Shot, Twister, Dragon Breath, Dragon Tail, Dragon Claw, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Hammer, Outrage, Dragon Dance

Pokémon: Waninaw
New Typing: Water / Dragon
New Abilities: Torrent / Swift Swim (HA)
New Stats: 85/105/78/83/79/100
New Moves: Scale Shot, Twister, Dragon Breath, Dragon Tail, Dragon Claw, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Hammer, Outrage, Dragon Dance, Typhoon (Physical Dragon move, traps target in a whirlpool)

A Wani was a dragon or sea monster in Japanese mythology. Since it is written using the kanji 鰐 wani is translated as "crocodile", or sometimes "shark". Waninaw are the rulers of the oceans and gods of the sea. They live in splendid coral palaces deep on the ocean floor. They have a complex society that most are still trying to study.
This gen has some WEIRD names, and I'm not talking about Wyrdeer BOWOWOWOWOWOW

This more belongs in the Regional Forms area.

Other than that, be sure to read the rules, and have fun expanding on Hisui’s historical previously-undiscovered-until-now set of Pokémon!

So... what should we do about Sinnohan Zorua?

Also, I’d like to drop Bakufugu’s Speed down to 40 to keep its BST in line with Overqwil’s. It’s very fortunate that we only had to do this for one evolutionary line.

New Abilities: Serene Grace / Shed Skin / Sand Rush
New Stats: 110 / 105 / 90 / 65 / 75 / 80
New Moves: Dunsparce things + Draco Meteor, Earth Power, Power Gem, Dragon Claw, Outrage, Shadow Claw, High Horsepower, Dragon Dance
Removed Moves: 0
Flavor/Design: big sandy dragon, still kinda similar to dunsparce though. specially excels at digging, and it can fly at high speeds (scrap the flying part unless dunsparce can fly wich im p sure it can)

:ss/chewtle:
Pokémon: Chewtle-Hisui

New Abilities: Strong Jaw / Rattled / Run Away
New Stats: 60 / 64 / 50 / 28 / 38 / 44
New Moves: Aura Sphere, Rock Smash, Seismic Toss, Submission, Superpower, Close Combat
Removed Moves: Liquidation, Hydro Pump, Surf, Rain Dance, Water Gun, Whirlpool
Flavor/Design: chewtle but different slightly, they stay out of the water for most of the time training. their shell isn't very sturdy, though. they are quite alert, but not very ready to attacks, so they just end up fleeing from strong opponents.

:ss/drednaw:
Pokémon: Drednaw-Hisui
New Typing: Fighting / Dark
New Abilities: Strong Jaw / Rattled / Shell Armor

Flavor/Design: drednaw but different slightly, they stay out of the water for most of the time training. though, they sometimes use underhand tactics to win battles. their shell, although not very sturdy, is definetly tougher than a Chewtle's. they are very alert and ready, more so than a Chewtle. they do not run from any opponents, even if they are stronger than itself.

:ss/drednaw-gmax:
Pokémon: Underhurtle (Underhand Tactics + well, Turtle)

New Abilities: Strong Jaw / Merciless / Shell Armor

Since Sinnohan Zorua line is made before Hisuian Zorua is revealed, the former line will remain due to, well, the fact we do not expect that the Zorua line gets a regional form in Sinnoh, much less one in that region’s past. Consider it an exception that enforce the rule due to unprecedence though.

I’ll do the Speed drop for Bakufugu!

Pokémon: Hisuian Venonat
New Typing:

New Abilities: Compound Eyes/Tinted Lens (Hidden: Run Away)
New Stats: 60/55/50/40/55/45 (unchanged)
New Moves: Dark Pulse, Nasty Plot, Night Slash
Removed Moves: Poison Powder, Sludge Bomb, Venoshock
Flavor/Design: Its main body is black and its eyes are a brighter red. Hisuian Venonat became a Dark-type to protect it against the Drifloon that live all over Hisui. Its sense of sight is twice as strong as that of regular Venonat.

Pokémon: Hisuian Venomoth
New Typing:

/
dark.gif

New Abilities: Shield Dust/Tinted Lens (Hidden: Wonder Skin)
New Stats: 70/75/70/80/65/90 (+10 Attack, +10 Defense, -10 Sp. Atk, -10 Sp. Def)
New Moves: Dark Pulse, Nasty Plot, Night Slash
Removed Moves: Poison Powder, Sludge Bomb, Venoshock
Flavor/Design: It has glowing red wings with large black scales on them, and its head and thorax are the same color as its wings. Hisuian Venomoth is active at night and can be seen most commonly in the Obsidian Fieldlands and Cobalt Coastlands. Although Hisuian Venomoth isn't deliberately malicious, the dust its wings scatter as it flies is rumored to be cursed and give anyone who it touches terrifying nightmares that never go away, hence why it is considered too dangerous to be allowed into Jubilife Village.

Pokémon: Balefly
New Typing:
bug.gif
/
dark.gif

New Abilities: Shield Dust/Tinted Lens (Hidden: Wonder Skin)
New Stats: 80/111/70/114/65/100 (Total: 540)
New Moves (added on): Pitch-Black Beam (Dark-type clone of Overheat), Hurricane, Ominous Wind, Outrage, Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb
Classification: Shadow Moth Pokemon
Height: 6'8"-7'10" (Alpha: 10'9")
Weight: 45.3-68.7 lbs. (Alpha: 93.2 lbs.)
Flavor/Design: A larger moth with a similar color pattern to Hisuian Venomoth. Its body is crescent-shaped with spiky edges at the ends of it. It evolves from Hisuian Venomoth with a Dark Scale. Balefly looks from a distance like the moon when it flies. Legend has it that the reason people started tracking the lunar phases was so they could determine if the bright-red crescent they saw was the moon going through a lunar eclipse or just a Balefly. Its signature Pitch-Black Beam drains light from anything it touches, making whatever it hits appear as a shadow for an extended period of time.

Pokémon: Hisuian Pawniard
New Typing:
fire.gif
/
steel.gif

New Abilities: Defiant/Inner Focus (Hidden: Pressure)
New Stats: 45/85/40/70/40/60 (Swapped Defense and Sp. Atk)
New Moves: Ember, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Flare Blitz, Mystical Fire, Overheat, Raging Fury
Removed Moves: Dark Pulse, False Swipe, Night Slash, Poison Jab, Shadow Claw, Snarl, Stealth Rock, Thunder Wave
Flavor/Design: It has a samurai helmet with flames in a V shape above it, and a brighter red body. It also has flames on its hands. Hisuian Pawniard makes its home on Firespit Island, where it practices its martial arts training. It often practices its techniques on a Magmar, since Magmar's own flames prevent Hisuian Pawniard from actually damaging it.

Pokémon: Bishono
New Typing:
fire.gif
/
steel.gif

New Abilities: Defiant/Inner Focus (Hidden: Pressure)
New Stats: 65/115/60/105/70/75 (Swapped Defense and Sp. Atk, -10 Attack, +5 Sp. Atk, +5 Speed)
New Moves: Ember, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Flare Blitz, Mystical Fire, Overheat, Raging Fury
Removed Moves: Dark Pulse, False Swipe, Poison Jab, Shadow Claw, Snarl, Stealth Rock, Thunder Wave
Flavor/Design: Similar changes to it as with Hisuian Pawniard, but around its midsection are flames creating outlines like a martial arts uniform. It evolves from Hisuian Pawniard at Level 52. Bishono uses its techniques to manipulate fire in a way that no other Pokemon can. It will often venture to the Coronet Highlands to test its resilience, but when it does, it always gets upended by the Sneasler that live there.

Note: with both of these, I only added/removed moves that were already in Legends Arceus.

Hisuian Dratini
Type:
Ghost/Fairy
Stats: 41/50/45/50/50/64 (300) (swapped Atk and Spe)
Abilities: Ice Body (HA: Cursed Body)
New Moves: Absorb, Mega Drain, Draining Kiss, Play Rough, Dazzling Gleam, Glare, Hypnosis, Bite, Leech Life
Removed Moves: Twister, Dragon Rage, Dragon Tail, Dragon Rush, Dragon Dance, Outrage, Sunny Day, Surf, Waterfall, Aqua Tail, Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse, Water Pulse, Aqua Jet, Dragon Breath, Bubble Beam, Water Gun, Whirlpool
Flavor/Design: Hisuian Dratini is colored a dark purple, almost black, with a red underbelly and red eyes with yellow pupils. The fins on the sides of its head are black and much longer and pointier than those of its Kantonian counterpart. Its mouth, though rarely seen, has two long fangs inside it. It uses its hypnotic gaze to lure its prey back to its lair, where it stuns them and drinks their blood. Its long fangs are hollow and are used to siphon blood directly from its prey’s veins into its stomach.
Hisuian Dragonair
Type:
Ghost/Fairy
Stats: 51/84/55/70/60/100 (420) (-10 HP, -10 Def, -10 SpD, +30 Spe)
Abilities: Icy Skin (HA: Cursed Body)
Icy Skin - Dry Skin clone with Ice immunity instead of Water and healing in Hail instead of rain.

New Moves: Crunch, Moonblast, Shadow Ball, Shadow Claw, Shadow Sneak, Ice Fang, Hex, Hisuian Dratini’s moves
Removed Moves: Twister, Dragon Rage, Dragon Tail, Dragon Rush, Dragon Dance, Outrage, Sunny Day, Surf, Waterfall, Aqua Tail, Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse, Water Pulse, Aqua Jet, Dragon Breath, Bubble Beam, Water Gun, Whirlpool
Flavor/Design: Many of the same changes that were made to Dratini—dark purple coloration, red underbelly, red eyes with yellow pupils—but the wings on its head are now similar to bat wings. Its fangs are now visible even when its mouth is closed, extending down past its snout. The blue orbs on Kantonian Dragonair are replaced with purple gems with a similar appearance to the Adamant Orb or Prism Spheres. It lurks in wide-open dark places like caves and old abandoned mansions and castles, and can fly with the wings on its head. It’s said that the glowing gems on its neck and tail can enthrall its prey and change the weather, and its appearance is heralded by a sudden drop in temperature.
Dragula
Type:
Ghost/Fairy
Stats: 86/112/70/112/90/130 (600) (+35 HP, +28 Atk, +15 Def, +42 SpA, +30 SpD, +30 Spe)
Abilities: Icy Skin (HA: Vampiric)
Vampiric - Tough Claws clone for draining moves (i.e. all attacks affected by Big Root). No effect on Leech Seed, Aqua Ring, Ingrain, or Strength Sap.

Absorb, Bouncy Bubble, Data Drain, Drain Punch, Draining Kiss, Dream Eater, Giga Drain, Horn Leech, Leech Life, Mega Drain, Oblivion Wing, Parabolic Charge, Soul Drain
New Moves: Soul Drain, Giga Drain, Dream Eater, Will-o-Wisp, Hisuian Dragonair’s moves
Soul Drain - Ghost-type, Physical. Leech Life clone.
Removed Moves: Everything in Dragonite’s movepool that is not already in Hisuian Dragonair’s movepool
Height/Weight: 2.2 m, 122.7 kg (7’03”, 270.5 lbs)
Flavor/Design: Much sleeker and more serpentine than its Kantonian counterpart, with the same color scheme as its pre-evolutions. Its wings are large and batlike, and enshroud its body like a cape when not in use. The gems on Dragonair’s neck and tail remain on Dragula. Its arms and legs end in longer and sharper claws than Dragonite’s, and its mouth is filled with fangs, including two especially long ones that it uses to siphon the life energy of its prey. Dragula is blindingly fast, only comes out at night, and hides in the shadows, so it’s very difficult to spot one before it attacks. When it strikes, it wraps its wings around its prey and uses its fangs to drain the prey of its life energy until it’s nothing more than a withered husk. Its physical prowess, blinding speed and magical powers make it a formidable opponent in battle. When Dragula drains its prey’s life energy, it adds their remaining lifespan to its own. Some members of this species have lived for hundreds or even thousands of years.
Competitive: With excellent Speed and great attacking stats, Dragula is an excellent pick for offensive teams. Its three immunities—four if you’re running Icy Skin—give it opportunities to switch in for free, and it has a good physical and special movepool, so opponents are forced to predict whether you’re running a physical, special or mixed set. Being able to spread status with Glare, Will-o-Wisp and Hypnosis is also extremely useful. Icy Skin makes Dragula a hard counter to Hail teams, being the only thing in existence immune to Ice-type attacks, but also makes it especially vulnerable to Fire-type attacks and sun teams. Alternatively, you can use Vampiric to power up attacks like Draining Kiss, Soul Drain, Giga Drain and Leech Life, letting Dragula act as a powerful mixed attacker who heals every turn (even more so if you have it hold a Big Root). Dragula does have some weaknesses, of course. It’s frail, especially on the physical side, so it can’t really afford to switch in on anything outside of its immunities (Dragon, Normal, Fighting, and sometimes Ice) and its single resisted type (Bug). With no way of boosting its attacking stats outside of items, Dragula also struggles to wallbreak as effectively as it would like to. Many Scarf users can easily 2HKO or OHKO non-Scarf Dragula sets, as can anything naturally faster, including Dragapult and its variants. Priority (especially Shadow Sneak and Bullet Punch, whose users generally don’t fear Extreme Speed), Sticky Web, and Trick Room also tear Dragula apart. Outside of draining moves, Dragula has no form of reliable recovery, so it can be whittled down over the course of a match. As rare as it may be, Liquid Ooze also destroys Vampiric sets.
I REJECT MY DRATINITY, JOJO!

This line’s inspiration is pretty obvious—it’s based on vampires. I’m mixing a lot of vampire lore in here and most of it is pretty intuitive to anyone who knows what a vampire is, so I’m not going to bother covering all of the details, but the answer to your question is yes, the Ice-type moves and Abilities are a JoJo reference.

Fun trivia: This was originally going to be a Dragapult-based line, but Dragapult has already been done twice so I went for Dragonite instead.

Hisuian Morelull
Type:
Grass/Psychic
Stats: 40/35/45/65/85/15 (285) (-10 Def, +10 SpD)
Abilities: Effect Spore, Harvest (HA: Wonder Skin)
New Moves: Psychic, Psyshock, Hypnosis, Confusion, Future Sight, Trick Room, Infestation
Removed Moves: Moonlight, Dazzling Gleam, Moonblast, Draining Kiss, Signal Beam, Spotlight, After You
Flavor/Design: Hisuian Morelull has yellow-gold colored mushrooms rather than the pink mushrooms of its Alolan counterpart. The mushrooms are more conical at the tips, and the mushroom stalks are in a wavy pattern rather than being straight. Hisuian Morelull also has a third eye on its “forehead” (for lack of a better descriptor), which is closed. It is said that Morelull from the Hisui region can see into the future and use their psychic powers to daze and confuse their opponents. A person can easily get lost in a forest full of Hisuian Morelull, since they like to use their powers to distort the perceptions of passersby.
Hisuian Shiinotic
Type:
Grass/Psychic
Stats: 70/45/60/90/110/30 (405) (+10 HP, -20 Def, +10 SpD)
Abilities: Effect Spore, Harvest (HA: Wonder Skin)
New Moves: Acid, Acid Armor, Acid Spray, Venoshock, Hisuian Morelull’s moves
Removed Moves: Moonblast, Draining Kiss, Signal Beam, Spotlight
Flavor/Design: Hisuian Shiinotic’s mushroom cap is red with many small white dots. Its mushroom cap is wider and flatter than its counterpart’s, with the fringe around the edge of the cap having a spiral shape. The third eye present on its pre-evolution has opened and looks similar to Jirachi’s “true eye”. The pink part of Alolan Shiinotic’s lower body is red for Hisuian Shiinotic as well. It secretes a special toxin from the fringe around its cap, which can intoxicate anyone who touches it. This toxin can also cause psychic visions and has been used in spiritual practices for centuries, most famously by the ancient Celestica people to commune with Arceus. It is suspected that Hisuian Shiinotic can see the future by metabolizing its own toxins.
Hallucybin
Type:
Poison/Psychic
Stats: 110/65/75/110/130/40 (530) (+40 HP, +20 Atk, +15 Def, +20 SpA, +20 SpD, +10 Spe)
Abilities: Effect Spore, Bad Dreams (HA: Magic Guard)
New Moves: Sludge Wave, Psywave, Hex, Strange Steam, Nightmare, Topsy-Turvy, Hisuian Shiinotic’s moves
Height/Weight: 1.5 m, 42.0 kg (4’11”, 92.6 lbs)
Flavor/Design: Hallucybin has a large mushroom cap with a spiraling tie-dye pattern on it that shifts and changes colors throughout the battle. The spiraling fringe surrounding the cap now has an eye in the middle of each spiral structure. Hallucybin’s upper body is similar to Shiinotic’s, but wider. The third eye now has a constantly swirling spiral in the middle. The lower part of Hallucybin’s body is a mass of tentacle-like roots. Hallucybin causes powerful hallucinations in those nearby and can render someone unconscious with a single touch of its neurotoxin-coated tentacles. Its toxins induce vivid nightmares that can persist even after waking up.
Competitive: Hallucybin is an excellent special tank that has the privilege of being the bulkiest Spore user in the game. Having a 100% accurate sleep move and Bad Dreams makes Hallucybin a great Pokémon to take out any special attackers that threaten your team—putting them to sleep will deal damage over time. Since Hallucybin is slow, it usually gets an extra turn of Bad Dreams damage because the foe will generally have already moved before getting put to sleep. This all but guarantees that a sleeping foe will lose at least ¼ of their max HP, and if you’re running Hex, you can deal massive damage to a sleeping foe. Alternatively, combine Spore/Bad Dreams with Leech Seed and Infestation if you want to KO an opponent with residual damage in as little as 3 turns! Bad Dreams also makes it much more difficult for opposing stall sets to try and stall you out with Rest, since they’ll still be taking damage while asleep.
This line is based on hallucinogenic substances that are found in mushrooms. The most common of these is psilocybin, found in mushrooms of the genus Psilocybe, also known as “magic mushrooms”. Morelull’s design is based partially on the mushroom Psilocybe semilanceata, which is commonly used for both recreational and religious purposes. Shiinotic’s design is based on the more dangerous Amanita muscaria, which is also hallucinogenic and used in religious rituals. The third eye on the species is a reference to the Hindu, Buddhist and New Age concept of a “third eye” that is the center of psychic power. The spirals and tie-dye colors on Hallucybin are a reference to the visions of vivid colors and fractal shapes that many people experience while on hallucinogens, as are its extra eyes and tentacles. The line being able to see the future and being able to bestow that ability via toxins is a reference to the use of hallucinogens for religions and spiritual purposes. Having the line learn Acid, Acid Armor and Acid Spray is an oblique reference to the drug LSD, which is colloquially known as “acid”, and Hallucybin’s Hidden Ability being Magic Guard is a reference to the previously mentioned term “magic mushrooms”.

DISCLAIMER: Drugs are bad for you and you shouldn’t do them.

Hisuian Comfey
Type:
Flying
Stats: 51/82/100/52/90/110 (485) (swapped Atk and Sp. Atk, +10 Def, -20 SpD, +10 Spe)
Abilities: Aerilate, Triage (HA: Magic Guard)
New Moves: Feather Dance, Work Up, Wing Attack, Gust, Feather Shield, Aerial Ace, Roost, Whirlwind, Heal Bell, Dual Wingbeat, Constrict, Agility, Quick Attack, Fly, Sky Attack, Air Cutter, Air Slash, Feather Healing
Feather Shield - Flying type, Status. Flower Shield clone for Flying-types
Feather Healing - Flying type, Status. Floral Healing clone; heals ⅔ instead of ½ in Misty Terrain

Removed Moves: Growth, Flower Shield, Magical Leaf, Synthesis, Leech Seed, Grass Knot, Aromatherapy, Petal Dance, Bullet Seed, Energy Ball, Grassy Terrain, Sweet Scent, Seed Bomb, Solar Beam, Grassy Glide, Worry Seed, Floral Healing, Hidden Power
Flavor/Design: Its body is similar in appearance to Alolan Comfey’s, but with a blue and white color scheme instead of green and yellow. Instead of flowers, its vine has various colors of feathers on it. These feathers are imbued with healing powers. Hisuian Comfey floats freely on the wind, looking for injured people and Pokémon, which it heals by wrapping its feather-covered vine around the injured area.
Comfeather
Type:
Flying
Stats: 80/40/110/100/100/125 (555) (+29 HP, -42 Atk, +10 Def, +48 SpA, +10 SpD, +15 Spe)
Abilities: Aerilate, Triage (HA: Magic Guard)
New Moves: Twister, Dragon Tail, Coil, Hurricane, Blizzard, Healing Wing, Hisuian Comfey’s moves
Healing Wing - Oblivion Wing clone. Makes contact.
Height/Weight: 2.8 m, 0.5 kg (9’02”, 1.1 lbs)
Flavor/Design: Comfeather’s vine is much longer and is covered in many different colors of feathers, somewhat resembling a rainbow. Comfeather has no arms, unlike its pre-evolution, so its vine trails behind it, making its body shape resemble a feathered serpent. It has two wing-like crests on the top of its head and the main body is surrounded by bright blue feathers. Its vine has become fused with the feathers it was decorated with, and now the vine grows feathers of its own. These feathers have remarkably potent healing properties. Fallen Comfeather feathers are commonly ground into powder for use in medicine. Despite its size, Comfeather is friendly and gentle. It likes to wrap itself around people or Pokémon and act as a fashionable decoration. It’s common practice at high-society events to wear a living Comfeather, or accessories made of feathers for those who don’t own one.
Competitive: With respectable 80/110/100 bulk and an impressive 125 Speed, Comfeather is useful as a fast support Pokémon. It has hazard control in Defog and a pivoting move in U-Turn, can force opponents out with Whirlwind, has access to reliable recovery in Roost, and can act as a cleric with Heal Bell. In doubles, its support capabilities become even more threatening thanks to its access to Tailwind, Feather Shield, Helping Hand, Ally Switch, Feather Healing and a very fast After You. Moving back to singles, Comfeather can also act as a potent revenge killer thanks to its high Speed, serviceable Special Attack, and access to powerful priority with Triage Healing Wing. Calm Mind can also be used to make Comfeather a threatening late-game sweeper. You can use Triage for priority Healing Wing and Roost, or you can use Magic Guard to prevent hazard damage and Life Orb recoil if you’re running a more offensive set. Comfeather’s main weakness lies in its Stealth Rock weakness (which forces it to either give up Triage to run Magic Guard, rely on Boots, or eat a lot of damage on switch-in) and the fact that it’s literally incapable of hitting Steel-types for even neutral damage unless you’re using some sort of meme set like Coil Fling/Thief or Nature Power.
My original thought was simply “what if Comfey was a feather boa instead of a lei”. Then I just had to figure out what to evolve it into, and since a boa is also a kind of snake, I figured I would just have it evolve into a cuter and friendlier version of Quetzalcoatl. I decided not to give it a Dragon typing or any sort of serpentine traits besides the body shape because... well, because I think Comfey is really cute and I don’t want to make it look like a snake. So sue me, I guess.

Hisuian Stonjourner
Type:
Rock/Grass
Stats: 125/100/135/20/70/20 (470) (swapped HP and Atk, swapped Sp. Def and Spe)
Abilities: Monolithic
Monolithic - Punk Rock clone for contact moves
New Moves: Leafage, Branch Poke, Razor Leaf, Magical Leaf, Energy Ball, Solar Beam, Solar Blade, Wood Hammer, Grassy Glide, Toxic, Counter
Removed Moves: Rock Polish, Stomp, Mega Kick, Rest, Heat Crash, Rock Throw
Flavor/Design:
It’s basically just this with a face.
60033FDF-8044-40B5-8417-E3446CD7B5D5.jpeg

Hisuian Stonjourner wander around seemingly aimlessly during the day and plant their legs into the ground to sleep at night. Their legs absorb nutrition from the ground, so they don’t have to eat. They seem to be attracted to places with great historical or spiritual significance, but it’s unknown exactly why.
Competitive: Hisuian Stonjourner has 125/135/70 bulk, which is impressive enough on its own, but then you have to factor in its Ability, which halves damage from contact moves, and Eviolite. Eviolite Stonjourner has the equivalent of something like 125/200/110 bulk, which is utterly obscene (good thing Eviolite doesn’t boost Body Press). It’s useful as a wall that can tank literally any physical hit that can possibly be thrown at it. Its access to Counter lets it force switch-outs even if your opponent is at +6. Seriously, this thing is an absolute monster. Except for one thing: it doesn’t have any recovery. Literally any at all. Not even Rest. You can’t even run Leftovers on it because that gets rid of Eviolite. So despite this beast being able to live two +2 Iron Heads from a Mega Mawile in a row, it’s vulnerable to being whittled down and doesn’t like coming in repeatedly without support.
Toriiyoubu
Type:
Rock/Grass
Stats: 145/110/155/40/80/40 (570) (+20 HP, +10 Atk, +20 Def, +20 SpA, +10 SpD, +20 Spe)
Abilities: Monolithic
New Moves: Grassy Terrain, Leech Seed, Will-o-Wisp, Heal Bell, Wish, Fire Punch, Hisuian Stonjourner’s moves
Height/Weight: 16.6 m, 950.0 kg (54’05”, 2094.4 lbs)
Flavor/Design:
It’s basically just THIS with a face.
89F67074-F546-43F9-9C9A-DE04357816AE.jpeg

It also has lanterns hanging from the crossbar near the top, which serve as hands, with paper tassels that serve as fingers. The ropes that the lanterns are hanging off of are extendable and are used as its arms. Toriiyoubu stands firmly rooted into the ground in places near sacred shrines and temples. It’s said to be bad luck to pass under one with any kind of physical or spiritual imperfection.
Competitive: It plays a lot of roles similar to its pre-evolution, but its access to Wish, Will-o-Wisp and Heal Bell makes it a much better pivot, cleric, and status spreader. It can break physical wallbreakers with Counter the same way that Stonjourner can, but with Wish under its belt it’s able to do it many times over the course of a match. 110 Attack with a 30% boost to contact moves ain’t something to sneeze at offensively either. (Although sneezing at anything seems pretty offensive to me.)
In case you couldn’t tell by the pictures, this line is based on torii gates, which are found at the entrance to Shintō shrines in Japan. Specifically, Hisuian Stonjourner is based on a daiwa torii and Toriiyoubu is based on a ryōbu torii. Even more specifically, Toriiyoubu is based on (and exactly the same height as) the ryōbu torii at Itsukushima Shrine, the most iconic torii gate in Japan. If you’re wondering why I removed Rest, it’s because Hisuian Stonjourner would be broken if it had any kind of recovery (except Leftovers/Shell Bell, which are unviable on it because their name isn’t “Eviolite”).

Hisuian Patrat
Type:
Fairy
Stats: 45/35/39/52/39/42 (255) (swapped Atk and SpA)
Abilities: Cute Charm, Keen Eye (HA: Fluffy)
New Moves: Sweet Kiss, Lovely Kiss, Draining Kiss, Dazzling Gleam, Charm, Moonblast, Moonlight, Switcheroo, Nuzzle, Play Rough, Glare
Removed Moves: Leer, Hypnosis, Mean Look, Nasty Plot, Bide, Slam, Cut, Retaliate, Secret Power, Aqua Tail, Gunk Shot, Seed Bomb, Low Kick, Assurance, Flail, Iron Tail, Pursuit, Revenge, Covet, Super Fang
Flavor/Design: Hisuian Patrat’s fur is white with pink highlights. It has a much friendlier expression than its counterpart, and its tail is significantly fluffier. Hisuian Patrat has a pleasant disposition and will readily make friends with anyone who gives it food. However, this kindness should not be mistaken for weakness or simplicity—it is constantly vigilant and incredibly perceptive of its surroundings, and if threatened, its gaze can petrify an opponent.
Hisuian Watchog
Type:
Fairy
Stats: 60/60/69/85/69/77 (420) (swapped Atk and SpA)
Abilities: Intimidate, Keen Eye (HA: Levitate)
New Moves: Meditate, Calm Mind, Confusion, Psybeam, Psychic, Lock-On, Ice Beam, Eerie Spell, Magic Powder, Hisuian Patrat’s moves
Removed Moves: Rototiller, Stomping Tantrum, Strength, Focus Punch, Knock Off, Leer, Hypnosis, Nasty Plot, Bide, Slam, Cut, Retaliate, Secret Power, Aqua Tail, Gunk Shot, Seed Bomb, Low Kick, Assurance, Flail, Iron Tail, Pursuit, Revenge, Covet, Super Fang
Flavor/Design: Hisuian Watchog has a white and gold color scheme and intricate golden swirling patterns on its fur. Its tail is enormous and fluffy, framing its body like a peacock’s tail and giving it a majestic aura. There are eye-shaped markings in its fur on the end of its tail. Some say that Hisuian Watchog can see using said markings, since it appears to be fully visually aware of its surroundings in a 360-degree range even when its eyes are closed. It’s often employed by the Galaxy Team’s Security Corps for its constant vigilance. It is usually seen meditating, sitting in the lotus position and levitating into the air.
Metatrog
Type:
Fairy/Fire
Stats: 77/77/77/127/77/117 (552) (+17 HP, +17 Atk, +8 Def, +42 SpA, +8 SpD, +40 Spe)
Abilities: Eldritch, Compound Eyes (HA: Levitate)
Eldritch - Cursed Body clone; attackers have a 30% chance of becoming inflicted with Curse

New Moves: Divine Wrath, Flaming Gaze, Fiery Dance, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Inferno, Mystical Fire, Will-o-Wisp, Morning Sun, Solar Beam
Divine Wrath - Fairy type, Special. Seed Flare clone.
Flaming Gaze - Fire type, Special. Spirit Shackle clone.

Height/Weight: 7.7 m, 777.7 kg (25’03”, 1714.5 lbs)
Flavor/Design: Metatrog’s body floats above the ground in the lotus position with its hands clasped together as though in prayer. Its fur is white with golden swirling patterns, many of which resemble eyes; these eye patterns can occasionally be seen to blink, though its actual eyes never do. Its tail, now covered in those same eye patterns, spreads out behind it like a cloud. Metatrog also sports six large feathered wings, colored white with red and gold flame patterns. Each wing has a single unblinking eye, red and yellow like Watchog’s, located in approximately the center of the wing. An additional eye sits in the center of the flaming halo that floats above Metatrog’s head, making a total of nine eyes altogether. A single gaze from its eyes can cause an opponent to become transfixed with fear or awe. It fights by controlling flames and light with remarkable precision and firing beams of divine energy from its eyes.
Competitive: Metatrog is a formidable special attacker with access to many powerful attacks whose accuracy is boosted by Compound Eyes, such as Fire Blast, Thunder, Divine Wrath, and Focus Blast. Its high Speed also allows it to make good use of its wide status-spreading movepool with moves such as Glare, Nuzzle, Will-o-Wisp and even Lovely Kiss; the latter two have their accuracy boosted by Compound Eyes as well. Lovely Kiss combined with Flaming Gaze can put an opponent in an extremely tight spot. Switcheroo can also be used with a Choice item to mess with opposing stall sets, especially if you’ve managed to trap something in with Flaming Gaze and get it stuck into using a recovery move or something while you set up Calm Minds. Levitate is of course a great Ability for any non-Flying-type to have, especially one with a Ground weakness and a healthy amount of resistances, so Metatrog with Levitate has a lot of opportunities to come in and start trapping and/or destroying things. Eldritch is an interesting option too, especially combined with Flaming Gaze—being trapped and forced to lose ¼ of your HP every turn is a scary, scary thing. As strong as it is, Metatrog does have some problems. It can’t run everything it wants on one set and is forced to choose between three good Abilities, leaving it vulnerable to different threats depending on what it chooses. With no way of boosting its Speed, non-Scarf sets are easily revenge killed by faster opponents. Its Stealth Rock weakness and relative frailty leave it with few switch-in opportunities, and even with semi-reliable recovery in Morning Sun, said frailty makes it difficult to find a spot to recover without losing momentum. Sets without recovery are worn down quickly, as are sets without Heavy-Duty Boots. Chansey, Blissey and other special walls give pretty much any Metatrog set a hard time, even the trapping ones if they play their cards right. Heatran laughs in the face of sets that lack Focus Blast, Toxapex laughs in the face of sets without Thunder, and Rotom-Heat laughs at pretty much anything Metatrog can do. All in all, Metatrog is extremely versatile, but perhaps too versatile for its own good.
Metatrog is based on the angels traditionally seen in Jewish and Christian texts, specifically Metatron, an especially ancient and powerful angel mentioned in Kabbalistic texts whose name may have originated from the Hebrew word for “watchkeeper”. The number 7 is sometimes seen as a divine number in these traditions, especially when repeated, hence its frequent appearance in Metatrog’s base stats and physical dimensions. Honestly, there’s really not much to say about the pre-evolutions; I came up with Metatrog first because I wanted to turn Watchog into something covered in eyes and they’re just kind of a stepping stone to it. I honestly have no idea why I decided to do this. Call it a message from God, I guess.
:ss/nincada:
Hisuian Nincada
Type:
Bug/Grass
Stats: 31/90/45/30/30/40 (266) (swapped Atk and Def)
Abilities: Compound Eyes (HA: Steadfast)
New Moves: Razor Leaf, Petal Blizzard, Leaf Blade, Magical Leaf, Leafage, Grass Knot, Energy Ball
Removed Moves: Mud-Slap, Dig, Sandstorm, Shadow Ball, Night Slash, Feint Attack, Spite, Toxic, Sand Attack, Double Team, Gust, Bide
Flavor/Design: Hisuian Nincada’s body is colored a forest-green hue with its legs being a lighter green. Its eyes are solid black and its wings, which are a pale translucent green, are longer and thinner than its Hoennian counterpart’s, running the whole length of its abdomen. Unlike its skittish Hoennian cousin, Hisuian Nincada lives aboveground and has perfectly fine vision. Rather than absorbing nutrients from tree roots, it is a predator. Uniquely among non-ambush predators, it refuses to hunt prey smaller or weaker than itself, only targeting creatures of equal or greater power. Some believe this is because it lives by a code of honor; others think it’s merely a method of getting stronger.
Semirai
Type:
Bug/Fighting
Stats: 61/160/50/75/30/80 (456) (swapped Atk and Spe, +5 Def, +25 SpA, -20 SpD, -10 Spe)
Abilities: Warrior’s Blade (HA: Steadfast)
Warrior’s Blade - Strong Jaw clone for blade moves.

Aerial Ace, Air Cutter, Air Slash, Behemoth Blade, Ceaseless Edge, Cross Chop, Cross Poison, Crush Claw, Cut, Dire Claw, Dragon Claw, False Swipe, Fury Cutter, Fury Swipes, Guillotine, Leaf Blade, Metal Claw, Meteor Assault, Night Slash, Precipice Blades, Psycho Cut, Razor Leaf, Razor Shell, Razor Wind, Sacred Sword, Scratch, Secret Sword, Shadow Claw, Slash, Solar Blade, Spacial Rend, Stone Axe, Stone Edge, X-Scissor
New Moves: Sacred Sword, Razor Wind, Shadow Claw, Cross Chop, Horn Attack, Megahorn, Hisuian Nincada’s moves
Removed Moves: Baton Pass, Agility, Acrobatics, Dual Wingbeat, Uproar, Captivate, Defog, Ominous Wind, Roost, Mud-Slap, Dig, Sandstorm, Shadow Ball, Feint Attack, Spite, Toxic, Sand Attack, Double Team, Gust, Bide
Height/Weight: 1.2 m, 15.2 kg (3’11”, 33.5 lbs)
Flavor/Design: Semirai’s carapace is red with black markings that make it resemble a suit of armor. It crawls along the ground on its four legs, each covered by plating resembling a samurai’s shoulder armor. On its forehead is a horn resembling the “kuwagata” horns found on kabuto helmets. Unlike Ninjask, Semirai cannot fly; its wings are long and thin, resembling a pair of katanas, and it uses them to slash its opponents, cutting them to ribbons. Although its wings are too heavy to fly, they can cut cleanly through a steel wall. It has an honorable disposition in battle, refusing to fight weaker opponents unless under orders from a Trainer it deems worthy of its obedience. Such behavior does not extend to its prey in the wild, unlike its pre-evolution.
Competitive: A lot of my submissions do things like “living hits” or “switching into things” or “inflicting status conditions” or some nonsense like that. Not so with Semirai. Semirai is an honorable warrior who does not resort to such trickery or underhanded tactics. It has exactly one purpose: hitting its opponent really fucking hard. It has a variety of tools it uses to accomplish this, the main ones being Sacred Sword and X-Scissor. When boosted by Warrior’s Blade, these become extraordinarily powerful moves with no drawbacks and make Semirai a nightmare to try and switch into. It can also make use of Night Slash, Shadow Claw, Aerial Ace, Leaf Blade, or even Metal Claw if you really hate Fairy-types. As powerful as Semirai is, it’s also extremely straightforward. Its extreme frailty makes it difficult to set up, it’s fairly slow, and it has no Speed-boosting moves, so it can be dealt with fairly easily despite its power. Its main sets are Choice Band and Choice Scarf. Choice Band boosts Semirai’s already-powerful attacks to truly unreasonable levels, but allow it to be revenge-killed by pretty much anything faster than itself. Choice Scarf prevents some (but not all) of the revenge killing, but you miss out on the raw power of Choice Band. Choice Band sets work well against stall and slower offense teams whose walls and tanks will fall to Semirai’s blade, while Scarf sets are better against faster, frailer offense teams, but no matter what you run on it Semirai will keel over and die if someone sneezes four miles away, so be careful with it.
Bushedo
(Note: Bushedo is a replacement for Shedinja. Its evolution requirements are the same as regular Shedinja’s.)
Type: Bug/Rock
Stats: 1/110/5/20/5/95 (236) (+20 Atk, -40 Def, -10 SpA, -25 SpD, +45 Spe) (yes, this probably breaks some sort of rule, but come on, it’s Shedinja we’re talking about here, cut it some slack)
Abilities: Warrior’s Guard
Warrior’s Guard - Wonder Guard clone, but only not-very-effective attacks affect this Pokémon instead of super-effective attacks
New Moves: No Retreat, Stealth Rock, Rock Throw, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Rock Polish, Accelerock, Horn Attack, Megahorn, Head Smash, Hisuian Nincada’s moves
Removed Moves: Grudge, Shadow Claw, Confuse Ray, Shadow Sneak, Phantom Force, Agility, Hex, Will-o-Wisp, Poltergeist, Trick, Thief, Dream Eater, Heal Block, Nightmare, Sucker Punch, Telekinesis, Mud-Slap, Dig, Shadow Ball, Feint Attack, Spite, Toxic, Sand Attack, Double Team, Gust, Bide
Height/Weight: 1.2 m, 187.6 kg (3’11”, 413.6 lbs)
Flavor/Design: Bushedo’s body bears a strong resemblance to Shedinja’s, though colored black instead of brown, but its head is shaped like a samurai’s kabuto helmet. In legends, its body is said to be as tough as stone, repelling all manner of attacks. However, the body itself is extremely frail despite its heavy weight, and its legendary toughness actually stems from the magical aura protecting it from harm.
Competitive: Bushedo plays the same kind of role for offense as Shedinja does for stall—an all-purpose switch-in to attackers that don’t have coverage for it. Instead of spreading status or doing whatever else Shedinja does, though, Bushedo doesn’t play around. It can set up with Swords Dance, Rock Polish, or No Retreat and then start wrecking things with its powerful STAB moves. If you want, you can even use it as a lead and set up Stealth Rock with it. It’s immune to Sandstorm and it’s only vulnerable to two types, one of which is almost never run as coverage! What could possibly stop this thing? Well, as it turns out, pretty much the same things that stop Shedinja. Status conditions, Mold Breaker and Ability-ignoring moves eat Bushedo alive, as do hazards if it’s not wearing Boots (although that’s kind of a moot point—if you’re not running Boots, you’re not playing with a serious team). People have finally started to realize the potential of hail teams as well, which spells instant doom for this wandering samurai helmet. Almost all of its good moves are contact, so if you see a Ferrothorn on the opposing team, you’re basically playing with only five Pokémon. Also, No Retreat really isn’t as good as it sounds on a Pokémon like this—the defensive boosts are literally meaningless and the Sp. Atk boost might as well be too, so you’ve effectively got a Dragon Dance that you can use exactly once and then you can’t switch out. Sometimes that’s all you need for a good sweep, though. Give it a try!
This line is based on samurai, which are commonly seen in popular culture (not entirely incorrectly) as a sort of “opposite” to ninjas. Where ninjas are sneaky, underhanded, and use assassin tactics and poisons, samurai are straightforward and honorable, using the strength of their weapons and armor to win the day, so I decided to design these evolutions to reflect that mentality. I’d like to note that Bushedo weighs 187.6 kg because 1876 was the year that the samurai caste was formally abolished. The name “Semirai” comes from “semi” (the Japanese word for “cicada”) and “samurai” (the Japanese word for “samurai”). “Bushedo” comes from “shed” and “bushido” (the samurai code). Yes, I’m extremely proud of these names.

Feels good to be back.

Pokémon: Magby-Hisui
New Typing:
Dark.png

New Abilities: Prankster / Vital Spirit (HA)
New Stats: 35/85/37/70/45/93 (+10 Spe, -10 SpD, +10 Atk, -10 HP)
New Moves: Knock Off, Dark Pulse, Assurance, Crunch, Night Daze, Snarl
Removed Moves: Ember, Fire Blast, Lava Plume, Heat Wave, Sunny Day, Flamethrower
Flavor/Design: Magby-Hisui are mainly pranksters and love to get into mischief. They steal items from trainers and share it among groups. If they are caught, they may try to fight by using their claws. They play mafia-inspired games commanded by their boss (which I'll get to later.)

Pokémon: Magmar-Hisui
New Typing:
Dark.png

New Abilities: Prankster / Swift Steal (HA)
If the opposing Pokemon has an item, its item gets stolen when this gets hit by a Contact move.
New Stats: 55/105/57/100/75/103 (+10 Spe, -10 SpD, +10 Atk, -10 HP)
New Moves: Knock Off, Dark Pulse, Assurance, Crunch, Night Daze, Snarl, Embargo, Lash Out, Night Slash
Removed Moves: Ember, Fire Blast, Lava Plume, Heat Wave, Sunny Day, Flamethrower, Burning Jealousy, Flame Charge
Flavor/Design: Magmar-Hisui are more experienced than Magby-Hisui. They steal items from trainer's bags without them noticing. Magmar-Hisui slice berries to share with packs. Magmar-Hisui are also extremely strategic and think before they do anything. They take experienced classes of Mafia-like games to truly master the game.

Pokémon: Magmafia
New Typing:
Dark.png
Normal.png

New Abilities: Tough Claws / Swift Steal (HA)
New Stats: 65/105/67/125/85/93 (+10 Spe, -10 SpD, +10 Atk, -10 HP)
New Moves (from Magmortar): Knock Off, Dark Pulse, Assurance, Crunch, Night Daze, Snarl, Embargo, Lash Out, Night Slash, Tri Attack, Hypnosis, Slash, Brutal Swing, Swift, Terrain Pulse, Uproar, Wring Out, Objection* (Fighting-type Draining Kiss clone)
Removed Moves (from Magmortar): Ember, Fire Blast, Lava Plume, Heat Wave, Sunny Day, Flamethrower, Flame Charge, Fire Punch, Flame Wheel, Mystical Fire, Will-o-Wisp
Flavor: The big boss. Highly skilled in the game of "Mortar-Mafia," they conduct everything that their prevos do. They choose the boss by a game of Mortar-Mafia, and whoever comes out on top becomes the new boss for the next decade. When they notice a trainer, they will distract them, then their items will be stolen. Once an item is stolen, it almost never comes back. Reported items are directed to Mafiamortar, and can and will be analyzed for any important info. If they steal anything important, they are usually given back.
Design: Basically a mixture of Magmar and Magmortar's designs. The left cannon is replaced with wide claws, and this Pokemon has Mafia-like attire. (wip)

New Moves: Earthquake, Earth Power, Ancient Power, Power Gem
Removed Moves: Blizzard, Liquidation, Razor Shell, Surf
Flavor/Design: Based off of Krabby's dex entries. Living in its burrows caused it to adapt to the environment around it and lose its Water-typing. It also has the ability to regenerate its claws faster than usual. It gathers rocks and stones from the ground and turns them into art.

Pokémon: Portunilith (Portunidae + Monolith)

Pokémon: Spinda-Hisui

New Abilities: Tangled Feet / Dancer / Contrary
New Stats: 60/50/50/70/60/70
New Moves: Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Dark Pulse, Fiery Dance, Moonlight Waltz (Dark-type Fiery Dance)
Removed Moves: Psybeam, Psycho Cut, Zen Headbutt, Psychic, Guard Split
Flavor/Design: This variant of Spinda are located in the Coronet Highlands, mystifying others with its unusual dance moves.

Pokémon: Spindamonia [spinda + pandamonia]
New Typing: Fire/Dark
New Abilities: Competitive / Dancer / Contrary
New Stats: 80/60/70/100/90/100
New Moves: Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Dark Pulse, Victory Dance, Fiery Dance, Moonlight Waltz (Dark-type Fiery Dance, with a 50% chance to raise Speed instead)
Removed Moves: Psybeam, Psycho Cut, Zen Headbutt, Psychic, Guard Split
Flavor/Design: Spinda evolves once it learns Moonlight Waltz and it is a Full Moon. This larger spinda is an exceptional dancer. It no longer seeks to confuse others, but instead looks to get them to appreciate its artform. There is a strict hierarchy of Spindamonia where the best dancers are the ones most respected.

Pokémon: Chewtle-Hisui
New Typing: Fighting
New Abilities: Strong Jaw / Rattled / Run Away
New Stats: 60 / 64 / 50 / 28 / 38 / 44
New Moves: Aura Sphere, Rock Smash, Seismic Toss, Submission, Superpower, Close Combat
Removed Moves: 0
Flavor/Design: chewtle but different slightly, they stay out of the water for most of the time training. their shell isn't very sturdy, though. they are quite alert, but not very ready to attacks, so they just end up fleeing from strong opponents.

New Typing: Fighting / Dark
New Abilities: Strong Jaw / Merciless / Shell Armor
New Stats: 110 / 130 / 110 / 38 / 58 / 80
New Moves: Aura Sphere, Rock Smash, Seismic Toss, Submission, Superpower, Close Combat, Sucker Punch, Knock Off, First Impression, Pursuit, Beat Up, Smart Strike
Removed Moves: 0
Flavor/Design: they stay out of the water for most of the time training. though, they always use underhand tactics to win battles. their shell is incredibly sturdy. they are merciless when attacking their enemy, aiming at their weak spot. they are ALWAYS alert and ready for everything, and are always seeking out stronger opponents.
Do take consideration on Eviolite, since chances that Hisuian Drednaw will likely be much bulkier than Underhurtle while being slightly faster despite not as hardhitting. I might consider to lower Hisuian Drednaw’s Speed to be lowered (dump it on Special Attack, Ursaluna have Special Attack lowered compared to Ursaring anyways) so that Underhurtle isn’t completely outclassed outside of item access and higher Attack.

Underhurtle can serve as a banded Pursuit trapper, which Hisuian Drednaw can’t do. That’s a big difference—it’s the difference between Gen 3-7 Tyranitar, which was the most used Pokémon in OU for three solid generations and was more viable than its own Mega Evolution, and Gen 8 Tyranitar, which dropped to UU at one point pre-Crown-Tundra even though the power creep was scaled way back. Merciless is also really scary on a Pokémon with a usable offensive stat when you combine it with Toxic Spikes support, which this meta has no shortage of. I personally think the base stats are fine as is and Underhurtle can play its own roles separately from Hisuian Drednaw.

That’s not to say the submission doesn’t need some tweaking. The base stats and Abilities are fine, but you didn’t remove any moves from the entire evolutionary line, which goes against the rules (you need to remove at least as many moves as you add unless you’re adding a secondary type to a single-typed Pokémon, which you aren’t) and doesn’t make much sense flavor-wise (why would a Fighting/Dark type line have so many Water moves, especially when you describe them as mostly non-aquatic?). I’d suggest you remove most of the Water moves and a couple of the Rock ones and you’re golden.

Pokémon: Cutiefly-Hisui
New Typing:

New Abilities: Honey Gather / Ice Body | Magic Guard
New Stats: 40 HP / 55 Atk / 40 Def / 45 SpA / 40 SpD / 84 Speed
New Moves: Ice Beam, Snow Powder, Icy Wind, Blizzard, Icicle Crash, Ice Shard, Triple Axel, Hail
Removed Moves: Fairy Wind, Moonblast, Draining Kiss, Psychic, Aromatic Mist, Dream Eater, Wonder Room, Imprison, Ally Switch
Flavor/Design: The diamond-shaped patterns of Hisuian Cutiefly gives it protection against traps such as Stealth Rocks and Spikes. Deep blue, fluffy fur and white eyes. The wings are wider and diamond-shaped.

Pokémon: Ribombee-Hisui

New Abilities: Honey Gather / Ice Body | Magic Guard
New Stats: 60 HP / 85 Atk / 70 Def / 55 SpA / 70 SpD / 114 Speed
New Moves: Ice Beam, Snow Powder, Icy Wind, Blizzard, Icicle Crash, Ice Shard, Triple Axel, Hail, Ice Punch, Brick Break, Megahorn
Removed Moves: Fairy Wind, Moonblast, Draining Kiss, Psychic, Aromatic Mist, Dream Eater, Wonder Room, Imprison, Quiver Dance, Stun Spore, Ally Switch
Flavor/Design: Even fluffier in comparison to Ribombee, and it loses flight because of it’s rotund shape. The limbs are also thicker, allowing it to directly attack with physical moves if necessary.

Pokémon: Winteebelle (Winter + bee + belle) [Height: 0.6 m | Weight: 30 kg]
New Typing:

Ice.png

New Abilities: Honey Gather / Ice Body | Magic Guard
New Stats: 70 HP / 105 Atk / 80 Def / 65 SpA / 80 SpD / 134 Speed (534 BST)
New Moves: Ice Beam, Snow Powder, Icy Wind, Blizzard, Icicle Crash, Ice Shard, Triple Axel, Hail, Ice Punch, Brick Break, Megahorn, Glacial Blade*, High Jump Kick, Jump Kick, Psycho Cut, Stomping Tantrum
(*Glacial Blade, physical Ice-type clone of Meteor Beam; raise Attack by 1 stage on turn 1, attacks on turn 2. Both actions are performed in one turn if user holds a Power Herb.)
Removed Moves: Fairy Wind, Moonblast, Draining Kiss, Psychic, Aromatic Mist, Dream Eater, Wonder Room, Imprison, Quiver Dance, Stun Spore, Ally Switch
Flavor/Design: The icicle particle situated above Winteebelle’s mouth simulate the proboscis that it used to have as Hisuian Cutiefly. It is so fluffy that it’s easy to assume that it’s even more rotund, but in reality, it’s moderately thicker compared to Hisuian Ribombee. The hands and feet are covered in thick ice that allows it to strike their opponent.
Competitive Potentials: Freeing an item slot by being immune to Stealth Rocks, in addition to being immune to High Jump Kick’s crash damage, allows Winteebelle to play as a fast, hard-hitting revenge killer with strong Ice-type STAB. Fire-type and Rock-type double-weaknesses are still fatal, but Stomping Tantrum can cover those, andHigh Jump Kick is helpful against most Steel-type as well.
