Pet Mod Regional Evolutions (Learnset Coding Slate 1: Kanto)

My apologies for double posting, but there is complications around the coding. Stitch98 tells me that it turns out to be the wrong time as he will be busy with the college works, so he would not be able to fully code the Pet Mod. Fortunately, he will do the first batch and then show me how to code them, so that I know how to code the things.

If worst comes the worst, there's also Scoopapa but I will try out myself starting Monday first.

In other news, alephgalactus is making a Role Compendium out of all Regional Evolutions and a few notable Regional Variants, alongside Speed Tiers and possibly Bulk Tiers.

Hi, just wanted to let you know that anyone can help making regional variant and evolutions codes by taking example from these I've already done.

Just be sure to not work on the same Pokemon in more than one person, tell other people which group you're working on.
I still have to start with learnsets, but they are very easy to write, here's how they're done:

You can code every form as 'missingno'. So, for reference:

Thank you for your support. I also take participation for the coding starting with the Kalosian forms (the other coders will do up to Unova), but I will focus on the Pokémon forms and New Stage Evolution Additions (being Palmodon for Alolan Tropius and Leditanium for Hoennian Ledian).

The wait will not be too long, but don't expect it to be fully coded this week, and we have no strict deadline for the coding, either. We will tell about progress as things get coded, but don't expect things to be 100% correctly coded yet. We try to minimize all erroneous coding as much as possible before testing things up.

I'd recommend doing the Spin-Off regions (Orre and stuff, anything beyond the eight main regions, Distorted World and Ultra Space) for us, it will save some time. I plan to do from Kalos to Galar, as well as stuff like the Distorted World and the Ultra Space. I will also do the Regional Variants (in this case Hoennian Ledian line and Alolan Tropius) that receives new Regional Evolutions in this Pet Mod.

If we get help or anyone extremely similar with learnset coding, let us know. For now, we wait for charizard8888 to give us an answer about it, as there is no official learnset tool.

Well the problem is the whole coding surrounding the Regional Variants + Evolutions regarding the learnset. It's more than just adding moves, it's also about removing moves for everyone of them, and it comes off as extremely time consuming.

Until we figure out a solution, none of the coders are willing to do such a daunting work yet.

Till then you can make it so that everything is allowed in the mod like Hackmons and go by the archive.

Till then you can make it so that everything is allowed in the mod like Hackmons and go by the archive.

We can certainly do that for now. We already have almost everything else coded, so that's good news. I'd definitely encourage people to look at the archive before experimenting with the new toys.

And yeah, slate-based community-driven learnset coding would be very helpful to advance Regional Evolutions without putting too much work for anyone. Helps ease things up!

Could you send us an example of how it is done?

(Now that you mentioned Hackmons, I even thought of experimental OM-styled variants for Regional Evolutions some times later on just for fun. Monotype or STAB would get crazy!)

Very convenient. All should be 8L1 for convenience, although I definitely encourages using the Pokédex of Smogon or Pokémon Showdown to check what moves are kept for Regional Variants (and by extension, Regional Evolution). The line can be copy-pasted with the further evolution stages having their additional moves for them.

Everyone can use this as an example and contribute coding their own creations' learnset or even the others'! We will do a region-to-region basis starting with Kanto to keep things smooth and so we won't forgot anything.

Well, do you know how to program learnsets? Just follow what I have posted (here) and start with Kantonian forms (over there, in the spreadsheet), and I suggest everyone else volunteers for other things starting at Johtonian forms, Hoennain forms and so on. Regional Evolutions have highest priority for sake of prioritizing potential playtesting, so you can do them firsthand.

Hopefully this will help me get back courage to code the learnset of at least several Regional Evolutions again. Sprites are optional, but helpful for visualization.
