Hello everyone!

The Regional Tournament was thought by SoT and I [Colonel M] to represent an "interesting" twist to a metagame. Have you ever wondered how dominant Gyarados would be in Kanto with Dragon Dance, Waterfall, and Intimidate? Sick of seeing Blissey versus Salamence battles? What about Pokemon that don't get to shine much, like Tauros, see a speckle of light? Well, now is your chance to try this Tournament out.

I forgot to add this and this is very important. If a Pokemon evolves or has a pre-Evo in a different region, you can't use that Pokemon. For example, you can't use Electivire in the Kanto region. However, you can perfectly use Electabuzz in the region. But in return, you cannot use Electabuzz in the Sinnoh region.

How it works is simple: Your Team Building is restricted to the region. For example, the Kanto Tournament can use Pokemon such as Machamp and Gyarados, but are banned in the Johto Round. The same applies inversely for Pokemon such as Skarmory and Scizor. Perhaps pending on the popularity, we may ban / unban certain things or even merge two regions together for a twist. But until then, we will stick with one region.

In other words this is how it works:


    • Sleep Clause: A player cannot put two or more different opposing Pokémon to sleep using attacks that induce sleep to opposing Pokémon.
    • Species Clause: A player cannot have two of the same Pokémon on their team. For example, a player cannot have two Koffing on his or her team.
    • Evasion Clause: A player cannot use the moves Double Team or Minimize in their Pokémon's movesets.
    • OHKO Clause: Players cannot use Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, or Fissure in any of their Pokémon's movesets.
    • Timer Clause: If a player exhausts the timer, he/she loses.
    • Endless Battle Clause: Any moveset on any pokemon that is capable of intentionally causing an endless battle is banned from competitive play. Check this thread for more informations.
    • Uber Clause: Players may not use any items, moves, abilities, or Pokemon that appear on Smogon's OU Ban List. If the tiers change or new items, abilities, moves, or Pokemon become available in the middle of a round, the changes will take effect in the following round. There will be an announcement in the relevant round if this occurs.
    • Mega Clause: (Tentative) All Mega Pokemon are banned.
    • Region Clause: You are only allowed to use the Pokemon within the dex entry listed. Alolan Pokemon will only be allowed in the Alola region, which is the only exception to the rule.

The goal is to obtain 128 players for this tournament. I won't lie - that may be asking for too much, but remaining hopeful that we have some users interested. Getting 256 would be awesome, but we won't hold off for too much.

Deadline is Tuesday, February 13th. This is pending.
