regular pokedex

Regular. Pokedex. I mean, not one with competitive overviews, stats and nothing else, but one with their in-game location, tier, egg group, movepool (What levels they learn oves at, egg moves, etc.) type, all that stuff. That way we won't have to jump from Smogon to Serebii to Bulbapedia and back, but just stay on Smogon pretty much full time.

Although I doubt that a new dex will be made when others suffice,

Perhaps a link to serebii / bulbapedia in tab form (next to moves) would be a good idea?

Smogon's niche is on competitive Pokemon, and a regular Pokedex doesn't really serve much use besides convenience to some users. Most people here might not even need to look at a Pokedex with those details since what they need are mainly the competitive info. It's not worth the trouble to programme / add that into the StrategyDex I think. Anyway, the PO simulator already shows the entire movepool you need for teambuilding, reducing the need to have such information on-site, even though it doesn't show the level it learns the moves, egg groups etc. The StrategyDex pretty much accomodates most of the users here. Your suggestion does bring convenience but that isn't always necessary; not saying it's a bad idea though.

Lol. NO way are we linking to other sites >.> sometimes those sites even get their information wrong >.> It's like the same reason why Facebook wouldn't put a link to Google+ anyway. Anyway, the reason anyone is visiting Smogon's Dex is to obtain the info they need for competitive battling. It doesn't really seem worth it to do what other sites are already doing.

If this can be implemented easily, well why not? But for now, it's probably not that easy to do so. Correct me if I'm wrong here haha.

edit: @RBG Because Veekun is too pro :P

Sandshrewz, that entire post is very wrong. In any case, as mentioned, veekun is an awesome site for what you asked for. I think a link to veekun on our dex pages would be a good idea if it can be easily implemented. After all they have a link to Smogon and it would be useful to users.

Edit: With Veekun you shouldn't have to switch much. Stay on veekun for most things. Look at Smogon if you want an overview of a Pokemon's common movesets or EVs. Do not use Smogon for novices as we are still inaccurate iirc. You shouldn't have to use Bulbapedia and Serebii at all. I normally use Veekun when teambuilding then maybe reference Smogon to see if I missed something.

Marriland sounds exactly like what is being suggested, that's where I go to look basic stuff up. Bulbapedia doesn't have past gen tutor moves, so I tend to stay off their unless I need to know breeding parents or event exclusive moves.

Honestly veekun is by far the best for these purposes. Bulbapedia is nice for event moves, though.
