Pulse here, with my third RMT here at Smogon. This is an old team I used on Wifi for a while that went for 19 wins and just one loss, but the loss was due to someone bringing a team that completely countered mine. I know there are fixes I can make, and I know the metagame has shifted since I've used this team. But enough chat, onto the team:
@Wise Glasses
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe
Nature: Modest
- Hypnosis
- U-turn
- Bug Buzz
- Air Slash
Yanmega was one of my favorite Pokémon a while back, and this was the set I chose to use. It really has helped out with the synergy of this team, since it draws out Blissey and I can U-turn right into Tyranitar. On the first version of the team I ran Focus Sash, but since I had U-turn on it I found little use for it, so now I think Wise Glasses is the better option.

@Leftovers
Ability: Sandstream
EVs: 252 HP / 68 Atk / 160 SpA / 28 Spe
Nature: Brave
- Substitute
- Crunch
- Focus Punch
- Ice Beam
I've had infinitely more success with this TyraniBoah spread than the standard one. Not only is Crunch coming off a higher base stat than Dark Pulse, but who would Dark Pulse be targeting that will hit harder than Crunch? Sure, Swampert is hit for about 5% more, but most bulky grounds are hit harder by Ice Beam to begin with. Anyways, this beast works incredibly well in tandem with Yanmega; Blissey comes in, Blissey falls asleep, and I immediately start setting up. Not only do I put the pressure of SS on my opponents, but I also have a guaranteed Substitute up. Special Attack allows for a OHKO on Garchomp, the rest piled into Attack. Speaking of Garchomp...
===============================================
@Yache Berry
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Nature: Jolly
- Swords Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Fire Fang
Changed from Yache to Scarf, and then back to Yache with the addition of ScarfZelf. This is the most deadly late game sweeper and seriously just tears teams apart. I'm still considering Lucario in this slot, but unless someone convinces me why Luke would be better, I'm sticking with this.
===============================================
@Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 176 HP / 144 Atk / 188 Spe
Nature: Adamant
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- Taunt
Ever notice how a lot of RMTs have a weakness to Yanmega, Tyranitar, Garchomp, or Gyarados? Yea. Heres number four. At first I ran the standard BulkyDos EVs, but I recently was given this EV spread by Maniaclyracist and they have worked out amazingly. Gyarados threatens to sweep any time in the game, but is great at countering threats such as Weavile that could otherwise hurt this team. However, this adds to a Stealth Rock weakness along with Yanmega, so I'm not sure if Gyarados is the best Pokémon for this slot.
===============================================
@Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Atk / 96 Def
Nature: Relaxed
- Gyro Ball
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic Spikes / Spikes / Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
After realizing that my team was too offensive, I've decided to throw in Forretress. It provides Rapid Spin support for Gyarados (Stealth Rock), Tyranitar, and Garchomp (Toxic Spikes). Along with that, it puts more pressure on my opponent by setting up Toxic Spikes and gives me the most reliable Weavile counter in the game. Not sure on which Spiking move to use; would the immediate threat of Stealth Rock be more useful? Or what about the original Spikes itself? Also, not too sure on the EV Spread. Can someone explain to me what the 160 Attack allows me to kill?
===============================================
@Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 42 Atk / 252 SpA / 216 Spe
Nature: Rash
- Psychic
- Flamethrower
- Hidden Power Ice / Grass Knot
- Explosion / U-turn
And here is that much needed extremely speedy sweeper. The Speed EVs get it past ScarfGar, and yes I copied the moveset from the analysis. I'm not sure whether I should run U-turn or Explosion, because although I absolutely adore the move U-turn, I don't want to U-turn with Yanmega out of Skarmory right into this and be forced into U-turning right back out. I think Explosion will be a much better choice in the long run, since it will kill almost everything that doesn't resist it, and since it is so damn fast it is a great way to go out.
