RMT - Double Battle Grass Team

Hi! I’m new to Smogon. This is my very first RMT.
You’re probably wondering why Grass…People think that it’s one of the most useless, if not the most useless type in Pokemon, due to its multiple weakness and very few strengths. So why Grass? Because I like it >=]
And I like Double Battling because I’m tired of the easy in-game Single Battles and most Double Battlers put in more time in developing strategies.

Azelf @ Life Orb
Jolly
6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Explosion/Fire Punch/Ice Punch/Zen Headbutt

Lead 1:
A fast and unexpected (well not so unexpected now, now that you’re reading this post -.-) Explosion can screw up people’s strategies in Double Battle. In my experience, when used with Helping Hand, Explosion is a move to be reckoned with. I’ve OHKOd Empoleon, Heatran, Metagross and other Pokemon with resistance to Normal moves. Fire Punch and Ice Punch are there to just make the most of Attack EVs. Zen Headbutt is used along Helping Hand to kill Ghost type leads such as Gengar, who cannot be killed with Explosion.

Jumpluff @ Focus Sash
Jolly
6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Helping Hand/Sunny Day/Toxic/U-Turn

Lead 2:
Azelf’s BFF <3!!! Helping Hand is a helping hand…Hehehe…It helps ensure that Explosion is not a waste and it takes out tough leads. Sunny Day is used on the turn after Azelf dies, assuming Azelf is faster than both enemy’s Pokemon and Explosion OHKOs them, to help Shiftry and Exeggutor. Toxic is a random move, I just don’t have any other thing to put there and I’m willing to get rid of it for something useful. U-Turn is there so that Jumpluff is not crippled by Taunt, since most people expect Jumpluff to support anyway.

Problems at this point:
One major problem I’ve experienced is when one or both of enemy’s Pokemon is faster than Azelf. What would happen is Jumpluff uses Helping Hand (+6 priority) but Azelf dies and Jumpluff is down to 1 HP due to enemy’s attack. I would really love to get rid of this gaping hole in my strategy.

Shiftry @ Life Orb
Jolly
6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Explosion/Rock Slide/Seed Bomb/X-Scissor

Physical Sweeper/Bomberman Numero Deux:
If my first step with Azelf and Jumpluff goes flawlessly, this should too. But that’s the catch. IF. But if that goes horrible, Shiftry and Exeggutor are doomed. My plan is if there’s no Ghost Pokemon on the field, Jumpluff (with 1 HP) uses Sunny Day and boosts Shiftry’s speed and successfully can use Explosion. Rock Slide is just there to take advantage of the Attack EVs; I can change it for something better. Seed Bomb is for STAB physical move. X-Scissor is to kill Ghost Pokemon hindering my evil plans.

Exeggutor @ Life Orb
Modest
6 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe
Energy Ball/HP Ice/Psychic/Sludge Bomb

Special Sweeper:
Again, the success of this depends on the first part. Energy Ball is for STAB special move. HP Ice is to get rid of pesky flying types. Psychic is another good STAB special move. Sludge Bomb is just a filler physical move that I can change if there’s something better.

Problems at this point:
The success of this part depends completely on the first. Both of these Pokemon are too slow even with 252 Spe EVs without Sunny Day. Maybe I can get two other Pokemon who are fast without Sunny Day. I was thinking Roserade and Celebi, and possibly Breloom. I would basically like a “checkpoint” after my first two Pokemon are wiped out, but this became a continuation, which isn’t always good. In my experience, my strategy does not work 100% of the time. I would also like ideas on how I can cover more types with my moveset.

Cradily @ Leftovers
Impish
252 HP/118 Def/140 SpD
Recover/Rock Slide/Stockpile/Toxic

Stockpile Staller:
Typical Stockpile Staller. Nothing much to say here…

Sceptile @ Choice Specs
Timid
6 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe
Energy Ball/HP Ground/Dragon Pulse/Focus Blast

Last Attempt at Winning:
Sceptile presents a much bigger threat than Cradily. Its presence pretty much guarantees that Cradily will get one Stockpile in, which is very important. I doubt myself about HP Ground, so I might change that. I’m also not a big fan of Focus Blast, since it always seem to miss for me -.-

Problems at this point:
While this combination guarantees Cradily one Stockpile, it guarantees Sceptile dies. I can replace Sceptile with a more bulky Pokemon I guess…

This may not look a lot, but I’ve been developing this Grass team strategy for over a month now. I have gone through countless strategies and scenarios, as well as Pokemon. Thank you and hope you can help me.
Oh and as much as possible, I only want 1 Wild Card cuz I think 2 is too much and ruins the whole theme.

Edit Updates:

-Azelf is removed from the team.
-Aerodactyl is added to the team.

Aerodactyl @ Life Orb
Naughty
6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Earthquake/Heat Wave/Protect/Rock Slide

Lead 1:
Really effect since I've used it. Especially with Jumpluff's Helping Hand. Earthquake is to get rid of Heatran and other non-Flying and Levitating Pokemon. Heat Wave is there just so I can have something against Metagross and Bronzong. Protect is for protection? Lol. Rock Slide is good because of STAB and Helping Hand boosts it to respectable levels.

I have a hard time believing that common Doubles strategies will NOT work versus this team.

Crobat seems to be a big pain to deal with, as it, by nature of this being a grass team, hits 5/6 members super effective and outspeeds them all. Furthermore, it can use Taunt to screw up your general strategy of setting up Sunny Day or whatever. I guess you could predict and use U-Turn on a Taunt, the fact still stands that you lose momentum fast.

Then there's a huuuuge issue with teams that like to spam Heat Wave. This is especially troublesome considering you actually BOOST their power in the sun. SO things like Infernape or Scarfed Heatran with Heat Wave may give you problems, and I know that both are semi-common enough to consider threats.

The biggest issue with your team is the huge threat of Trick Room. I suggest to try to common commonly-used ones, you use a -Speed nature on Exeggutor with max HPover speed, and then give it Trick Room: this enables you to disables your opponents. It also gives you a method to be able to beat Rain Dance teams, should they have it going.

I also suggest a minus speed nature on cradily for that reason as well, with more EVs pumped into Sp.Defense since it's your beast thing against heat-wave spamming teams.

I've taken the Speed thing into account. I was planning to replace Azelf with Aerodactyl. I'll post more details later, today is my first day of vacation and I'm using my phone to post this.

And yes, this team is ready.

By the way, what environment are you going to use this in? What are the rules? Is it on the DS games or on Pokémon Battle Revolution for the Wii?

You have two Pokémon with Explosion, and none with Protect. That seems like quite a weakness to me. If your opponent predicts your Explosions and uses Protect, you'll end up killing two of your own Pokémon whilst his are both fine... A really bad situation. I can see the plan is for Jumpliff to take one Explosion with its Sash and then sacrifice it in the second; but a single Fake Out would break the sash.

Also, Cradily really loves a Sandstorm, which you can't provide it.

Hmm I'll take that into consideration. Thanks. Now I need a few more suggestions to make major changes. I've tried changing Azelf with Aerodactyl. It worked better, I think.

Putting a Sandstorm-bringer on the team just for Cradily's sake would be a bad idea. However, Cradily should be your best answer to your opponents' Sandstorm and Trick Room teams. Here is the Cradily you should train if you have access to Heart Gold or Soul Silver:

Cradily
Ability: Suction Cups
Nature: Sassy
Item: Leftovers/Apicot Berry
EVs w/Recover: 252 HP, 128 Attack, 128 SpDefense
EVs w/Pain Split: 252 SpDef, 128 Attack, 128 Defense
IVs: 0 Speed

-Rock Slide
-Seed Bomb
-Recover/Pain Split
-Curse

After a single Curse, Cradily should be slower than any Pokémon with 30 base Speed (assuming they haven't also lowered their Speed somehow). This includes major Trick Room threats like Snorlax, Bronzong, Machamp, etc. You can then do some damage and get a chance to flinch with Rock Slide. Seed Bomb is for coverage. When you get low on health, you can Recover or hit a healthy target with Pain Split.

My problem with Pain Split is it is unreliable after my opponenthas less health than Cradily does. Curse also does not increase SpD.

Cradily @ Leftovers
Impish
252 HP/118 Def/140 SpD
Pain Split/Recover/Seed Bomb/Stockpile

Staller:
Cradily uses Stockpile and when it's low on health, it can use Pain Split as a main damaging move. Seed Bomb for STAB and finishing off the opponent. Recover to survive.
