RMT I'm a B/W Beginner OU Team

Hey guys, Katz here. This is one of my first teams with 5th gen pokes I have played Pearl and have EV trained several pokes and I think I know what i'm doing. I could be wrong though.

P.S. I worked very hard on this, so please. Constructive criticism only?

darmanitan-detail.png

Darmanitan W/ Choice Scarf
Adamant Nature (+Atk/-Sp. Atk)
252 Atk/252 Speed/4HP

- Flare Blitz
- Stone Edge
- Superpower
- U-Turn

I Know about the "Zen Stage" Darmanitan has when he gets lower then half hp, but I chose to disregard that because I didn't see a point in having a special-based move in the moveset. I usually start out with this poke so I can take a look at what the opponent is doing. I keep it Scarfed because i'm pretty certain it can out-run mostly anything that the opponent usually starts with. If I see one of those moves isn't super effective I just U-Turn into a different Poke. That's usually my first move.

Ferrothorn w/ Leftovers
Relaxed Nature (+Def/-Speed)
252 HP/156 Sp. Defense/100 Defense

- Stealth Rocks
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip

I don't know how you guys do it down here, but I tried to replace Ferrothorn with Tentacruel and that just didn't work out. I kept finding myself gravitate to Ferrothorn more often. Stealth Rocks for the entry hazard, Leech seed to annoy people. Relaxed nature because the lower speed will increase the damage on my Gyro Ball. Power whip is there for pokes that are resistant to steel.

Rotom-W w/ Choice Scarf
Timid Nature (+Speed/-Attack)
252 Speed/252 Sp. Attack

- Hydro Pump
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Trick

Ahh yes, Rotom-W... This guy is a beast because he can carry Hydro Pump and Thunderbolt. I have Shadow Ball there to take care of Gengars.. I'm not sure but i'm pretty sure this can out-speed a Gengar if the Gengar is not timid.. I could be wrong though. I have the trick there in case I want to lock the opponents wall into a move that will benefit me.

jirachi.gif

Jirachi w/ Leftovers
Careful Nature (+Sp. Defense/-Attack)
252 Sp. Def/252 HP

- Wish
- Iron Head
- Thunder Wave
- Fire Punch

Yes, I needed a special defense wall and Jirachi is the most annoying one I can find. :) JK but seriously, I chose Thunder Wave over Body Slam because I wanted the certain paralysis. Paralyze the opponent then Wish and spam Iron Head. Put Fire Punch to deal with Ferrothorns and things of that nature.

aabreloom.png

Breloom w/ Toxic Orb
Adamant Nature (+Attack/-Sp. Attack)
252 Attack/252 Speed

- Seed Bomb
- Substitute
- Spore
- Swords Dance

Breloom is one of my favorite sweepers in-game. If you get Breloom in on a good turn you can start setting up in front of your opponent and he won't be able to do anything about it. (Or so I believe)

dragonite.gif

Dragonite w/ Life Orb
Adamant Nature (+Attack/-Sp. Attack)
252 Attack/252 Speed

- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Fire Punch
- Earthquake

I honestly don't know why I put Dragonite into this. Now that I have more time to think about it, I think I should of went with an Speacil Attack variant.. Maybe? I don't know but I was thinking of putting Roost but that never happened.. This is a spot im willing to change, no problem.. Terrakion maybe?

Hi. Nice team. I only have a few concerns.

1. For Rotom, I would run HP Fire/Ice over Shadow ball. These two HPs hit far more important threats then shadow ball, like Ferrothorn, Gliscor and Thundurus.

2. You should look in to replacing Seed Bomb or Swords Dance on Breloom for Focus Punch. Seed Bomb is resisted by way to much Pokemon for you to be doing any sweeping, even with SD. Foucus, Punch hits a lot more stuff (like Ferrothorn)

3. You should run 32 Speed IVs on your Jirachi. This allows you to out speed all variants of Tyranitar.

4. For Dragonite you might want to consider a bulkier set+Leftovers to take advantage of Multiscale

hope I helped

I thought that the fire punch on my jirachi could cover those pokes while i would have them T-Waved and Wishing while I would just fire punch away, I could be wrong though, nice suggestion.

I don't think focus punch would be really helpful because doesn't it have that charge phase where if you get hit it doesn't work? I'm all up for changing Seed Bomb but for something better.

3. You should run 32 Speed IVs on your Jirachi. This allows you to out speed all variants of Tyranitar.

Thank you. Didn't think about the Ttar

4. For Dragonite you might want to consider a bulkier set+Leftovers to take advantage of Multiscale

You think I should keep a Dragonite in the set though?

You never say what the abilities are on your pokemon. That's (somewhat) important information

On Rotom, I would recommend replacing shadowball with Hidden Power Fire (or ice for bolt/beam), and possibly replace thunderbolt with volt switch. Not as powerful, but great for scouting, and really helpful on a scarfed set

For Dragonite, the reason to use Dragonite over other Dragons is it's bulk. So either give it a bulkier set, or switch it for something like a Salamence

That Breloom won't be sweeping much/ Only having a grass move means you get resisted bu dragons, flying types, fire types, steel types, bugs, and poison types. Either Replace Swords dance with Focus Punch, or replace Breloom

For Breloom, replace SD or Seed Bomb with Focus Punch. You set up a sub, then use FP while you can't be hit thanks to your sub.

Any suggestions on an replacement for Dragonite? And if so accompany a moveset please. So I see the big vote here is basically switch SD for Focus Punch

Dragonite isn't a terrible Pokemon, but Latios would be a good replacement.

Latios @ Life Orb
Timid Nature
EVs: 4 HP, 252 SAtk, 252 Spd
Dragon Pulse/Surf/HP Fire/Recover

You mentioned that you wanted a special sweeper, and Latios is one of the best ones out there. Latios would also have excellent synergy on your team, as Jirachi, Ferrothorn, and Darmanitan can take Dragon and Ice hits, while Latios can take Ground hits aimed at Darmanitan and Jirachi; Fire attacks aimed at Ferro, Rachi, and Loom; and Grass hits fired at Rotom. The set itself is basic. Dragon Pulse is stab. (not Draco Meteor, as you already have plenty of hit and run pokes) Surf hits Ground and Rock type, who are rather common thanks to SS. HP Fire hits Steels who come in on D Pulse. I recommend Recover, as you will be taking a lot of residual damage thanks to LO.

If you want to replace Dragonite yet keep a similar set, use this:

Salamence @ Life Orb
Naive/Naughty Nature
Intimidate
252atk/4Satk/252spd
-Dragon Dance
-Outrage/Dragon Claw
-Earthquake/Auqua Tail
-Fire Blast/Roost

Standard Salamence, go with Dragon Dance if you can, otherwise try and cause as much harm as possible. As far as the slashes are concerned, the moves listed first are first priority. If you choose Roost over Fire Blast, than you can use a Jolly/Adament Nature.

If you want a special sweeping dragon, go with Latios. GL

I like your team, but i agree with pretty much everyone else. you should use either a bulky dnite or switch him with salamence. if you want a secial attacker, you could try a calm mind latias with 3 attacks. if you want to sweep with breloom, i suggest using brelooms dream world ability, technician and give him mach punch, bullet seed, rock tomb, and low sweep.

With multiscale dragonite is a good sweeper. maybe try extremespeed over fire punch. If still want replacement try this haxorus. It the standard Choice Band set.

name: Choice Band
move 1: Dragon Claw/Double Chop
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Outrage
move 4: Brick Break / Rock Slide
item: Choice Band
Ability: Mold Breaker
Nature: Adamant / Jolly
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe

use subpunch loom, that set is just pathetic.
hp fire over shadow ball on rotom.
LO and multiscale is counterproductive on dnite, ur better off using salamence in this spot
