I made this team about two months ago when I wanted to try out scarfed Scizor, but after a while I realized that the team was performing pretty well. I recently picked it back up again with a few changes, but got stuck at around 1500 on the ladder. Any help would be appreciated.
Scizor @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Knock Off
This mon is the reason I started this team, but that doesn't mean it needs to stay. It outspeeds and OHKOs mons such as max speed Gengar and Alakazam with Knock Off, and outspeeds neutral speed natured Talonflames, which can be killed with a Knock Off after taking rocks damage or some recoil. Combined with priority and a fast U-Turn, scarfed Scizor can be brought in with the unexpected speed and surprise factor that can score some KOs.
Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Stealth Rock
- Roar
- Ancient Power
Heatran is my specially defensive wall with a few other tricks. It is my current Stealth Rocker and phazer, while being able to take on a few mons on its own. Ancient Power is mainly for Talonflame and Lava Plume is a decently powerful STAB move with a chance to burn.
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 224 Spd / 252 Atk / 32 HP
Naive Nature
- U-turn
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Landorus-T is here for Intimidate and wearing down the opponents team. HP Ice takes a decent chunk out of Gliscor and Dragonite, and it has just enough speed to outspeed Timid max Rotom-W. Knock Off can take care of crippling Chansey so Gardevoir can handle it, U-Turn is for pivoting, and Earthquake as a strong STAB move.
Gardevoir @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Thunderbolt
Mega Gardevoir is a very underestimated threat in the OU metagame. It outspeeds Pranksters such as Klefki and Sableye before mega evolving, which means it can trace their ability and Substitute before they can status it. Its Hyper Voice is amazingly powerful, with enough power to OHKO 252 HP 4 SpDef AV Conkeldurr and even specially defensive Mandibuzz after Stealth Rocks. It can take on Blissey and Chansey resonably well with Psyshock, and almost no offensive mon can take two Hyper Voices.
Gyarados @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Waterfall
- Dragon Dance
- Ice Fang
Gyarados is my main switch-in to Aegislash and Azumarill because the rest of my team does not take those two on too well. Having two Intimidators is very handy with Landorus-T's ability two U-Turn into this one. Dragon Dance combined with its coverage can sweep through teams after weakening anything that can take a hit after one or two boosts.
Kyurem-Black @ Leftovers
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 252 SAtk / 88 HP / 168 Spd
Modest Nature
- Substitute
- Dragon Pulse
- Earth Power
- Ice Beam
Kyurem-B handles Rotom-W so well that I'm surprised that it isn't seen more often. Its HP EVs give it enough for 101 HP Substitutes, and it can outspeed most variants of Rotom-W. Uninvested Volt Switches or Hydro Pumps can't break the Substitutes, and Kyurem-B's ability makes it so Earth Power can hit back. With the amount of Rotom-Ws existing in OU teams, Kyurem-B can get up a free Substitute in almost every battle.
This team seems to have a lot of trouble with banded Azumarill and Sand Stream boosted Excadrills. I would also like to add in a Rapid Spinner/Defogger, but I can't figure out which team member can be taken away from the team as it is. Again, any help is appreciated, and thanks in advance.
