[SET COMMENTS]
Heavy-Duty Boots and Levitate give Rotom-F many opportunities to come into battle, where it can use its high Special Attack and great STAB combination to deal significant damage to nearly the entire tier. Rotom-F is an excellent wallbreaker, but this set is not intended to sweep; its low Speed and numerous weaknesses mean that it is revenged by common Pokemon like Rapidash and the Silvally formes. Nasty Plot allows Rotom-F to break through the special walls that are able to withstand its attacks, such as Clefairy, Alcremie, and Galarian Stunfisk. Volt Switch lets Rotom-F pivot throughout the game and KO Pokemon such as Wishiwashi and Choice Band Sawk at +2 without giving the opponent an opportunity to revenge it. Defog is a usable option for teams that do not have another form of entry hazard removal, while Pain Split gives Rotom-F some form of recovery; with a naturally low HP stat and no HP investment, it is also able to seriously damage healthy defensive Pokemon. Finally, Will-O-Wisp can also be used in the fourth slot; it is able to cripple physically offensive Pokemon that could otherwise switch in and threaten it, such as Togedemaru, Piloswine, and Silvally-Steel.
This Rotom-F set fits best on offense or bulky offense teams because Nasty Plot enables it to break through common defensive cores and Volt Switch allows it to chip the opponent's team and bring in other powerful wallbreakers. Rotom-F is often revenged by Fighting-type Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Sawk and Toxicroak, so teammates that can switch into them, such as Cofagrigus and Garbodor, are good partners for it; these two, as well as other hazard setters like Ferroseed and Qwilfish, can also help Rotom-F wear down opposing teams with their entry hazard support. Rotom-F also appreciates partners that can switch into Fire-types; Wishiwashi and Silvally-Water can do this while also forming VoltTurn cores with it. It also appreciates opportunities to come in safely, especially if it does not run Pain Split. Teleport Clefairy can do this while also giving Rotom-F recovery with Wish, and Wishiwashi and Lanturn can pivot out of Grass-types with U-turn and Volt Switch and bring in Rotom-F to threaten them. Sandaconda appreciates its ability to take on Grass-types; in return, it can spread paralysis while also being a serviceable check to the physical Fire- and Fighting-types that threaten Rotom-F.

[SET COMMENTS]
A utility set enables Rotom-F to cripple its checks and remove entry hazards while retaining its good offensive presence and ability to pivot. Will-O-Wisp allows Rotom-F to cripple Togedemaru and Piloswine, two Pokemon commonly used by offensive teams to switch into it. Defog allows Rotom to remove hazards for its team, a role it performs particularly well because Rotom-F's Blizzard, Will-O-Wisp, and immunity to Ground and entry hazards scare out all Stealth Rock setters except Clefairy. If Rotom-F's team already has hazard removal, however, Pain Split can be used to give it somewhat reliable recovery.
This set functions on offense and balance teams that appreciate Rotom-F's fast Defog and usefulness as a pivot. Rotom-F draws in special walls such as Alcremie, Galarian Stunfisk, and Clefairy. Thus, Pokemon that take advantage of them are good partners; Silvally-Steel and Garbodor are both able to use Alcremie and Clefairy to set up Swords Dance and set up Spikes, respectively. Rapidash and Silvally-Fire are both able to set up against specially defensive Fairy-types and threaten Galarian Stunfisk, and they appreciate Rotom-F's ability to cripple mutual checks like Piloswine and Togedemaru with Will-O-Wisp. Rotom-F also appreciates Pokemon that can take on the Fire-types and Fighting-types that can outspeed and KO it. Wishiwashi is a great partner because it walls most Fire-types and is able to use U-turn to bring Rotom-F in against Grass-types. Cofagrigus and Garbodor are able to beat most of the tier's Fighting-types and can freely use a boosting move and set Spikes, respectively, against the Choice-locked Fighting-types that threaten Rotom-F.
