RTM - team based around Nidoking

THIS IS A REPOST> NICELY FORMATTED

Hey everyone, Im fairly new to the VCG world and have built a team a friend of mine recommended for me to get me back into the game. I've been testing it in doubles but am loosing an awful lot. Can you please take a quick look and let me know what changes I should make?

Ambipom @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Technician
Jolly
252 attack/252 speed/4 hp
- low kick
- fake out
- double hit
- acrobatics

Fake out + attack user. Acrobatics for flying type coverage. He works as a good lead for my team because of Fake Out but thats about it. Im unsure of the synergy he has with anyone on my team. I chose this EV spread to enhance his attack and speed.

Hitmontop @ Fighting Gem
Adamant
Ability: Technician
252 hp/252 attack/4 def
- wide guard
- mach punch
- fake out
- sucker punch

Also works as a good lead due to his priority move pool and fake out. Can get early KOs if he hits for weakness. This EV spread is to help his hit hard and last longer.

Nidoking @ Life Orb
Modest
Ability: Sheer Force
252 SpA/252 speed/4 hp
- earth power
- sludge bomb
- ice beam
- protect

Special sweeper. Great coverage. This is my baby, I really love this guy. I was thinking of replacing Sludge Bomb with Thunderbolt for better coverage. Thoughts on how I can make his more powerful? Also these EVs are to ensure I get the most out of my special sweeper and enhance his speed.

Staraptor @ Choice Band
Jolly
Ability: Intimidate
252 attack/252 speed/4 hp
- brave bird
- close combat
- double edge
- u turn
Hits fast and hard. U turn abuser. Also a good faux lead, I start with U Turn, get some quick damage in and switch into a more appropriate pokemon. These EVs are to ensure I hit fast.

Cresselia @ Leftovers
Calm
Ability: Levitate
252 HP/252 SpD/4 Def
- phycic
- reflect
- helping hand
- icy wind

This is my team support. I sometimes lead with him and instantly start using reflect to build up defense. I like his role and bulkiness. Phy is there for damage output. Icy Wind does a little damage while slowing my opponent down.

Chandelure @ (I cant choose)
Modest
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs 252 SpA/70 HP/100 Speed
- fire blast
- shadow ball
- energy ball
- hidden power ice

Im a little unsure about Chandy. His move pool is cool and Im pretty happy with it so far. I know he needs an item but what do you suggest I use? This move pool is based around having good coverage and the EVs are to help him last and to hit hard and fast.

I like the team but Im loosing almost all my battles. Perhaps I need to change something or come up with a solid stratedgy? Any help would be great! :)

Descriptions should probably be a little longer. One thing that most of them are missing: Why did you choose that Pokémon? What important thing(s) do they do, and how do they synergize with the other members of your team? It's hard to rate the team as a whole without knowing what sort of overall strategy you're using, and if you can't think of good answers for those questions, it might be a sign that you should consider using something else. A few suggestions for the individual Pokémon as well:

Ambipom: Low Sweep>Low Kick. It hits most Pokémon plenty hard anyway, and the secondary effect gives it more supporting options. Also, I'm not certain whether Acrobatics works with Technician, but Aerial Ace is better regardless if you want the Flying coverage.

Nidoking: Sludge Bomb is only a good choice with Gravity support (which gives Ground/Poison perfect coverage bar Shedinja/Nincada/Wormadam), so I would definitely suggest Thunderbolt or Fire Blast instead.

Chandelure: I would recommend Heat Wave over Fire Blast, since your team has no spread moves otherwise. If you're not running Protect, then maybe Focus Sash for the item. And I'm not sure if you made a typo, but those EVs only add up to 422.

Ambipom - what about Meinshao? Yes, this has a powerful FO, but you don't have U-turn or any other reliable way to get a 2nd FO out of this guy. If possible, cut Acrobatics and add U-Turn and it should be a lot better.

Hitmontop - Interesting set. It might be worth giving him Close Combat > Sucker Punch and making him Brave. While SP is almost assured to hit when stricking a coverage move attacker in 2 on 2, the possibility of this being even more anti-trickroom by snapping necks is pretty absurd.

Nidoking - the only reason I could ever see to use this guy over other faster or more versitile special sweepers is Sludge Wave, which hits both opponents. EQ is almost always better than EP with good teambuilding. Also, if this is modest you might consider investing in HP over speed... I can't imagine this outrunning the dragons you want it to.

Staraptor - sure, why not? Beware Icebeams. In fact, you pretty much need someone nearly-immune to ice beam to U-turn into.

Cresselia - not a fan of helping hand. Especially in doubles, where fakeouts and flinches really hurt it's effectiveness.

Chandelure - I'd try to fit Heatwave on this somewhere, what with this being doubles. I'd also aim for a timid set, as this is going to be washed out by the first thing that hits it for super effective.
