Diancie @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Moonblast
- Diamond Storm
- Heal Bell

Diancie is a counter to Noivern as it can switchin multiple times with ease into Noiverns STAB Hurricane and the coverage option in Flamethrower. Diancie also can set Rocks on Noivern
as Noivern most likely won't dare to stay in and get hit by a super effective Diamond Storm nor Moonblast. Diancie also has recovery in Leftovers, which makes it hard for Noivern to deal with.
In overall Noivern gets hard countered by Diancie and Diancie serves itself as one of the best switch-ins to Noivern and can act freely infront of it.

Calcs:
252 SpA Noivern Hurricane vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Diancie: 39-47 (12.8 - 15.4%) -- possible 9HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Noivern Flamethrower vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Diancie: 22-26 (7.2 - 8.5%) -- possibly the worst move ever

0 SpA Diancie Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Noivern: 246-290 (79 - 93.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
0 Atk Diancie Diamond Storm vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Noivern: 260-308 (83.6 - 99%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
reserving florges

florges.png

Florges @ Leftovers
Ability: Flower Veil
EVs: 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 Spe
Timid Nature
- Defog
- Moonblast
- Synthesis
- Heal Bell

Florges is a nice counter because of its ability to switch into Hurricane pretty nicely while being able to threaten it out with STAB Moonblast.
Neither Hurricane nor any of Noivern's Coverage Options deal enough damage to threaten a 3HKO with Rocks up, thanks to the appreciated Leftovers.
Florges on the other hand has an astounding 100% chance to kill Noivern after one instance of rocks damage and Leftovers recovery, which means it's likely to force out the annoying dragon-bat.
It also boasts the ability to recover its HP with Synthesis, Defog or heal the team's status ailments with Heal Bell on the forced switch out, unless it gets taunted, thus being able to stay healthy throughout the game and supporting the team.

Even the most temerarious battler out there should be wary of the legendary Hurricane-confusion into hurting yourself, which can cause your counter-plans to crumble apart. However, the likelyhood of Noivern 1v1ing Florges is pretty minor so don't worry about that too much.

252 SpA Noivern Hurricane vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Florges: 102-120 (28.3 - 33.3%) -- 0% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Noivern Flamethrower vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Florges: 56-66 (15.5 - 18.3%) -- possible 7HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Noivern Hurricane vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Florges on a critical hit: 153-180 (42.5 - 50%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

0 SpA Florges Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Noivern: 270-320 (86.8 - 102.8%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO after Leftovers recovery
(which will turn into a guaranteed OHKO after rocks+lefties if I didn't mess up my maths)
Milotic @ Leftovers
Ability: Marvel Scale
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Recover
- Haze
- Ice Beam

Ice Beam takes care of Noivern from full and none of Noiverns moves do a lot of damage.
Reserving Gigalith

gigalith.gif

Gigalith @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge / Rock Blast
- Earthquake
- Toxic

Gigalith is a great counter to Noivern. He switch on a Hurricane/Flamethrower and take those moves easily. The leftovers increase his bulk and his capacity to counter Noivern. Taunt Gigalith is a pure waste of time because Gigalith can OHKO with Stone Edge, and OHKO with four hits of Rock Blast (if you don't want to be PPStall). With the sandstorm, the leftovers and toxic (even if Noivern have Taunt), Noivern can't win the 1v1.
Your always force Noivern to switch and can put Stealth Rock or Toxic.

252 SpA Noivern Hurricane vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Gigalith in Sand: 41-48 (10.9 - 12.8%) -- possibly the worst move ever
252 SpA Noivern Flamethrower vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Gigalith in Sand: 22-26 (5.8 - 6.9%) -- possibly the worst move ever

4 Atk Gigalith Rock Blast (2 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Noivern: 168-204 (54 - 65.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after sandstorm damage and Leftovers recovery
4 Atk Gigalith Rock Blast (3 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Noivern: 252-306 (81 - 98.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after sandstorm damage and Leftovers recovery
4 Atk Gigalith Rock Blast (4 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Noivern: 336-408 (108 - 131.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO after sandstorm damage and Leftovers recovery
4 Atk Gigalith Stone Edge vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Noivern: 338-398 (108.6 - 127.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Raikou @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Raikou is a check to Noivern. Even if rocks are up, it can still come in on Flamethrower/Hurricane at least 3 times during the game and OHKO it back with HP Ice.

252 SpA Noivern Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Raikou: 80-95 (24.9 - 29.5%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Raikou Hidden Power Ice vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Noivern: 292-344 (93.8 - 110.6%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO after Leftovers recovery

Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Sludge Bomb
- Thunderbolt

Scarf Goodra is an amazing check to Noivern. Goodra can easily come in on Noivern's flying STAB of hurricane as well as flamethrower and proceed to ohko with its dragon STAB of draco meteor. Goodra also has nice coverage moves, making it a scarfer that can figure its way through a variety of teams.

252 SpA Noivern Hurricane vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Goodra: 103-123 (32 - 38.3%) -- 96.2% chance to 3HKO
252 SpA Goodra Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Noivern: 452-534 (145.3 - 171.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Slowbro @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Psyshock
- Ice Beam
- Slack Off

Slowbro is a counter to Donphan because it will wall Donphan entirely as it has Slack Off, and Regenerator which makes sure that it can come in multiple times on Donphan.
Scald also is a pretty worrysome move for Donphan because it can burn Donphan and limits its offensive power heavily. Ice Beam is also super effective against Donphan.
Tho Slowbro has to worry about losing its item due to Knock Off but in overall Slowbro does a great job in countering and walling Donphan for days with relativ ease.

Calcs:
4 SpA Slowbro Scald vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Donphan: 264-312 (68.7 - 81.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

One of the queens of just sitting on things, Mandibuzz has unholy natural bulk. Donphan really can't do anything to it at all but pray for a poison and a crit. Mandibuzz is a counter to Donphan as it can repeatedly come in and grief it, can toxic it to cripple, and wittle it with a foul play that 3hkos, while being able to roost up and also come into Donphans strong stab with an immunity.

- Fire Blast / Sludge Bomb

Weezing is a great counter to Donphan. He is immune to ground moves, resists poison moves and don't take a lot of damages if he had Icium-Z which heal all his HP with Z-Haze. Black Sludge can be use if you already have a Z-Move. Pain Split allow Weezing to have a recovery, Haze or Clear smog prevent from set-up moves and WoW allow Weezing to make Donphan useless against the rest of your team.
I prefer Fire Blast on Weezing because of all the steel pokemons in RU, but Sludge Bomb is a great option for STAB and 30% chances to poison.
Everybody loves you Weezing

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock

Palossand is an amazing counter to Donphan. Palo can easily afford to come in on Donphan, unless its severely weakened. It eats up Donphan's stab move of earthquake, and because of the colbur berry, Palo takes very little damage from knock off as well. In addition, Palo can wear Donphan down with toxic/earth power, recover with shore up, and set up rocks all in front of Donphan's face. However, the main thing that makes Palo stand out from all of the other Donphan counters, is the fact that it's a ghost type. Due to it's ghost typing, Donphan can't spin on Palo which ultimately leads to hazards remaining up on the opponent's side.

252+ Atk Donphan Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Palossand: 115-136 (30.7 - 36.3%) -- 58.2% chance to 3HKO

Umbreon @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Toxic
- Foul Play

Umbreon recently dropped in the RU Viability Rankings but it still does a great job when it comes to Necrozma. Necrozma wants Umbreon gone first for a multitude of reasons:

  1. it wants Umbreon to be gone because Umbreon has a solid special bulk which gets increased by Wish + Leftovers to guarantee the longevity in this Matchup against Necrozma.
  2. Umbreon has access to Toxic which hinders Necrozmas own longevity in Moonlight and Foul Play which does a solid amount on Necrozma.
  3. Umbreons typing allows it to not get hit by Necrozmas signature move in Photon Geyser / Shattered Psyche thus the only Attacks Necrozma can hit Umbreon with are either Heat Wave or Earth Power.

In overall Necrozma wants this defensive threat in Umbreon being gone before it starts to set-up Calm Minds and Attacks therefore Umbreon is a good counter in the long run even when Necrozma is Z-Heat Wave (Inferno Overdrive)
because Umbreon can also use Protect on the Turn when Necrozma will go for the Z-Move and thus making it that Necrozmas Z-Move is burned up.

Houndoom is a good check to Necrozma. If your opponent has a Firium-Z Heat Wave Necrozma, the party is over for his Pokemon and Houndoom can wall him. You can prepare your team to have a second great check or rk to the Groundium-Z Necrozma.
For the second set, the Goundium-Z one, Houndoom can do his job too. He's faster than Necrozma, so he can threaten him with a Z-Dark Pulse which OHKO after rocks when he's not boosted (and can OHKO without rocks too with luck). If necrozma has a +1 boost, Z-Dark Pulse + Sucker punch kills after rocks, and can also kill without with a high roll on one of the two moves.

If you left the Necrozma put Calm Mind and you play Punishment, three CM for him and your Punishment is a super effective 180 base power attack (Don't forget Houndoom have 90 in Attack). After a punishment, you can easily RK Necrozma (especially when we know that Houndoom is often played with pokemons like Golisopod of Ice Shard Donphan or Roserade).
If you anticipate your opponent, you can put a Nasty Plot facing to Necrozma and Destroy him after with Dark Pulse or the Z-Move. Note that you can take a non-boosted Earth Power from Necrozma.
