Before we scream OU viability for a mon, we should remember that it wont just deal with gen 8 OU stuff but also all the insanity that will be released in gen 9 alongside it.
I would be surprised if Tink got into OU, even with an item, because the mythical quatuor and the paradoxes are a thing.
That, plus to be fair, it's not like there's only OU, it may be shit in OU sure, but could just end up being as a decent midtier pokemon.

...or it could drop to the depths of ZU toghether with half of the current OU.

Personally I am just looking forward to False Swipe Gaming gen 9 videos going once more "With this generation XU resembling generation 8 XU+1" or even XU+2.
I was memeing earlier with someone about Lando-T in UU, he said "nah no way", but then I reminded him how this generation we had former Ubers Blaziken and Aegislash drop all the way to UU so...
That'd be pretty hilarious if it happened :psysly:
(it won't, but I am 100% sure a bunch of current OUs will end up being nuked due to the massive BST dump this gen is doing)

any ideas on how terastilizing and choice items will interact?
Why should there be any special interaction exactly, differently from Dynamax, Terastalyzing doesn't change your moveset.
from the level up moves alone, are there any old mons that have access to new moves?
Nothing particular other than a handful pokemon getting Wave Crash from what I noticed.

Gets Wild Charge, Gets Close Combat (as a base mon, probably will learn other shit by other methods), gets a useful move semi-exclusive move. Pawmot never disappoints. Pawmot is my man. I want a Pawmot in my life. Pawmot es mi hombre.

Meanwhile, other mons we expected so much from with their shitty spreads: "oh im sorry my speed got reduced 5 points hahah but you can still make me usable!!! just work harder!! ahahhkjajakajk" pfff they lack caracter, Pawmot didn't allow any of this garbage. Pawmot said "i dare you to reduce my speed to base 100 or less, i dare you again and trice" and no one in GF offices dared to defy its will. This is what I need, mons with caracter, conviction, sheer will. No "jejeje my speed got reduced upon evolving and cant do nothing about it!!" weaklings.

Blood, blood in the veins.

Honestly pawmot getting an actually decent stat spread and moveset was something I was unexpected when that leaked. I was expecting just another dedenne or morpeko case of garbage.

Not really quite OU material and unlikely to see use in VGC, but it looks like a solid in-game and mid-tier mon.

We don't know. They share evolution method, but we cannot tell what the method is. However, see the discussion below:

That would make sense. I think it's also there for the purpose of Eviolite. I can understand it for Scyther, Ursaring, and Stantler. Basically, their evolution is locked to Hisui, so you have to bring them back through HOME. However, it's weird they don't allow Hisuian Qwilfish (and Basculin?) to evolve in Paldea, but do allow it for Hisuian Growlithe, Sneasel, and Voltorb.
If we follow on the "this is just to say they can't evolve but can reference it for other things" theory then the link comes from it & wyrdeer sharing the same evolution method: They have to use their move in a Style

So basically rather than let it evolve by just knowing the move, it just doesn't get to evolve at all.

I dunno, having a Panic button who's also a decent mon by itself is pretty good. It has good speed, good attack and solid stabs plus, being able to bring your key attacker/wall back in case shit hits the fan is a huge plus. Could it be enough for OU? Dunno but I can say it will have a solid Niche, especially in case EleTerrain spam starts to gain some traction.

I thought of that since the signature move is REALLY strong, however usually the pokemon that run these "suicide + heal ally" moves are defensive pokes like Latias and Cresselia, the latter mostly running it as a way to more quickly bring in a TR sweeper...
I don't think you're willing to bring what's essentially a potential deadweight mon just for that move. Unless a strategy develops that's centralized around a single pokemon sweeping, but whenever that's the cause, it's more a indication of that given pokemon being broken.

I don’t expect the legendaries to last long in OU besides Wo-Chien, which Tinkaton outspeeds and can clean up with Play Rough.
It also threatens Ting-Lu and Chien-Peo too as it outspeeds the former and resists the latter’s STABs.
It only really cares about Chi-Yu, who definitely will be banned too with Chien-Peo.

Also with the faster pace Meta, Tinkaton might be better under it since barely anything can switch into it and its good defensive typing would let it switch in more often, fire off a Gigaton Hammer, more than likely get a KO or do a Gigaton of damage, then switch out.

After staring at the personal table for hours now, I've come to the conclusion that either:
- The personal table no longer stores the TM information.
or:
- The TM format used in SS has been completely refactored.
It really makes no sense.

The second one seems the most likely, since there is at least one vector of moves in the personal table that I haven't figured out the usage of yet. I wonder if Game Freak compares this data against a list of TMs, and that is how they determine if the species can learn a TM? If so, gross. Anyway, if I don't figure it out within the next hour, I'll at least update the paste with the egg moves.

Some strong tms that we are waiting to see distribution of. If tinkaton got something like u-turn, I think it could be back on the menu (maybe for UU?).

TMs: Volt Switch, U-Turn, Thunder Wave, Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Stealth Rocks, Swords Dance, Will-o-wisp, Trick, Calm Mind, Nasty Plot
