SPOILERS! Scarlet & Violet Leaks Thread - Data/Mechanics

The thing I'm waiting on now is to see is movepool changes and whatnot to the 'returning' Pokemon. Is Wave Crash Crawdaunt gonna be a thing or nah?
This is the part of the DLC I'm most anticipatory of for Smogon. Move tutors in the SS DLC changed the meta across tiers with moves like Poltergeist, Grassy Glide, and Dual Wingbeat. USUM had move tutors increase the distribution of moves like Defog, and more moves were obtainable on Pokemon with every new release. I would be surprised if there wasn't any kind of move tutor in either of the DLCs for SV.
Plenty of older Pokemon got some new and competitively relevant tools in SV as well, Floatzel getting Wave Crash, Slowking and Glowking getting Chilly Reception, Scizor getting Trailblaze, and Azumarill gaining Ice Spinner. Then you have older Pokemon gaining older moves, like Zamazenta getting Body Press, Garchomp gaining Spikes, and Breloom getting Close Combat. I'm eager to find out how much of a facelift many of the returning Pokemon will get, not to mention the possibility for SV-native Pokemon to gain more moves.

There are no move tutors, but they are adding a bunch more TMs.

Just occurred to me that Ogerpon doesn't have a "maskless" form. I saw it running around in the dex image and assumed that was the default, but all the renders are with one of the four masks.

Guess that means the masks are determined by key item, too.

And further makes me think Centro's assumption is wrong since Ogrepon's colors dont change with the Teal Mask and Teal Mask makes the most sense as the "default" for when you finally do get it, rather than getting it with one of the other masks.

Also you know, the Teal Mask is the name of the DLC, and Teal Mask Ogerpon is the one they've been promoting this whole time.

Blood moon ursaluna completely caught me off guard. I saw the image online and thought it's design was too edgy to be real lol.

It's also interesting that, unless I'm missing something, the loyal three don't have a signature move. It seems weird for them not to have one when every other new pokemon does, but maybe it will get revealed later down the line.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to when the tm list is revealed. Hopefully the defog tm returns, but even if it doesn't, there still could be some interesting buffs to old pokemon.

I brought that up earlier, which is why i said "further makes me think"

It'd just be very unusual for a multitude of reasons.

At worst maybe we lose the ability to get it this DLC but get it in the next when we'll probably get the other tera forms (maybe Briar or Kieran take the mask or something) since the Teal Mask seems tied to Ogrepon's super tera form. But even the nits like, probably jsut give it to us from the start.

Assuming it actually lost that aspect.
Even if it should mention it, since Scrappy actually did have its description updated this generation (Keen Eye still hasn't mentioned the evasion aspect for the last 3 generations....), when it comes to abilities mentioning every aspect it can be super hit or miss.
Water Bubble's game description still doesn't mention that Water-type moves get doubled in power

Seems like all the assets that leaked were pertaining to the new stuff (renders, new moves, new abilities, dex entries, and 3 of the dex images of the new forms and pokemon) and were just text and images with no associated stats, typings, moves, etc of them or the other Pokemon.
So guess we're still waiting on that aspect

Do we know what type Bloodmoon's Gigaton Hammer knock-off is? Because that might help figure out what type Bloodmoon is.
Mega Altaria is Dragon/Fairy, which is what I was talking about. Though it no longer exists anyways.
Even if it did, Megas aren't actual evolutions so it still wouldn't count.

Guys, they just discovered a super-secret Ogerpon form! It gains the Steel-typing and gets the move Gigaton Hammer! It's definetly a controversial design...but what do we think?

Why are people calling Mind's Eye "Scrappy on crack" anyway? Scrappy + Keen Eye isn't really that much better than regular Scrappy.
You say that but Muddy Water is an actual thing in VGC whenever Gastrodon or Tapu Fini exist, definitely a preferable ability.
There are no move tutors, but they are adding a bunch more TMs.
These are basically the same thing tbfh, different names ofc, but ultimately all people are asking for is basically "more learnset".

Both Smogoners and VGCers are probably all in awe awaiting to find out if Scald returns or not since it was shown on that Milotic.
I highly doubt the Teal Mask itself will never be playable. I wonder what type Teal Mask Ogrepon will be though
Eternamax is looking at you in disbelief.

Eternamax Eternatus was never showed off pre-release.

Given that the Teal Mask form has an ability that sounds just like all the other forms, it seems like it's only maskless form that exists in lore only.

I would believe BM Ursa loses Normal STAB if that's Game Freak's way of balancing it out. Sure, you now have perfect neutral coverage, but your fat brother still hits harder

I could also see Blood Moon Ursaluna being our first Normal/Steel, and its signature move is something like Ground so it doesn't get STAB on it. Archaludon gets a signature electric move for whatever reason.

Nor did Bloodmoon Ursaluna, remember we're talking of Leaks, noone has ever seen this guy before.

It's a possibility, after all we already are getting another pokemon with a non-stab signature move with Archaludon

What does Bloodmoon have to do with this? We were talking about Teal Mask Ogerpon and Eternamax Eternatus. And Teal Mask Ogerpon is the green one which absolutely has been officially showed off before release.

*looks at all the marketing of Teal Mask Ogrepon in the Teal Mask DLC*
??
Sorry, I'm just very tired and confused the two things.

Move along nothing to see here :smogonbird:

They have a signature ability, which the three share.

If they have no signature move then it will be like Glastrier and Spectrier, who don't have a signature move but have signature abilities.
