SPOILERS! Scarlet & Violet Leaks Thread - Data/Mechanics

So let me know if I have this right.

Terapagos, when sent into battle will immediately transform into Terastal form and have its ability change.

If it has the Stellar Tera type and Terastalizes, it will again change forms into the Terapagos Stellar form.

Do I have that right?

the gen 9 OU conundrum, in a series of page searches through that text file:

(edit searching toxic spikes and stealth rock by their TM numbers to filter repeats from level up moves only reduces it to 62 and 201...)

Terapagos is pretty balanced for a Cover legendary. Like the Stellar form is obviously busted with that BST, but that's its final form, so that's expected.

The Terastal form though is fine, especially since its a Normal-type and has no form of recovery aside from Rest. It even has perfect Coverage with its Signature Move, BoltBeam, and Aura Sphere.

How do you use the weakest Terapagos form on its own?

So, my understanding of Upper Hand is that it's a sort of Fake Out/Sucker Punch kind of thing. It's 100% flinch but only if the target is using a priority move (and not restricted to Turn 1 like Fake Out). Anyone tested yet to see how this works with Prankster?

Is revivecats dead?

I'm pretty sure Upper Hand would flinch on Prankster

But I doubt it's that relevant: in Singles, this can be punished too easily. In VGC, Tornadus already loves Covert Cloak. VGC Grimmsnarl is a bit more annoyed but it's already Ghost-Tera'd, and can punish your Fightning Pokémon with a fairy move.

Gouging Fire @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 88 HP / 168 Atk / 252 Spe ---> 373 HP / 308 Atk / 278 Def / 149 SpA / 222 SpD / 309 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Dragon Claw/Scale Shot
- Morning Sun

This mon on Sun teams sounds insane. With the Protosynthesis Speed/Atk Boost, Sun-boosted STAB Flare Blitz, Dragon Dance, Morning Sun to recover 75% of your health AND an amazing Offensive (resisted by only 8 mons in the entire game) and Defensive (weak to 3 Types, resists 5) Typing, this thing is guaranteed to be good IMO.

Raging Bolt @ Leftovers
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 200 HP / 252 SpA / 56 Spe ---> 441 HP / 135 Atk / 218 Def / 410 SpA / 214 SpD / 200 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Thunderclap
- Draco Meteor
- Taunt

You like Gambit? How about a Special Electric variant? This mon Stats are crazy good in terms of sheer power and bulk, and the below-average Speed doesn't even matter when you have priority. Even better, this mon's Speed is good enough that 56 EVs investment are just what it needs to outspeed Gambit itself, ironic. If you really want that extra power, just slap a Booster Energy on this thing and you're good to go.

Hydrapple @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 240 HP / 252 SpA / 16 SpD ---> 413 HP / 176 Atk / 256 Def / 372 SpA / 200 SpD / 124 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Leaf Storm
- Draco Meteor
- Earth Power/Recover

Nasty Plot, good coverage, good Stats all around (besides its Speed), Recover AND Regenerator? I'm sold baby. You could even try an AV set to really make this thing b u l k y.

Iron Boulder @ Booster Energy
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe ---> 321 HP / 339 Atk / 196 Def / 154 SpA / 253 SpD / 381 Spe (571 with Booster Energy)
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Mighty Cleave
- Earthquake
- Close Combat

Iron Valiant the fastest mon in the meta? GTFO here, Iron Boulder is the new cool kid in town. If you thought Valiant was too much for the meta you sure are gonna enjoy 2 of them.

Terapagos @ Leftovers
Ability: Tera Shell
Tera Type: Psychic
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 Spe ---> 393 HP / 175 Atk / 256 Def / 248 SpA / 256 SpD/ 261 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Stored Power
- Tera Starstorm/Aura Sphere
- Rapid Spin

A bit underwhelming, sure, but that crazy good ability and its access to Rapid Spin definitely make it shine a bit more. With Stored Power it might actually become a threat if it gets underestimated.

The same way how Ultra Necrozma hasn't appeared since Z-Moves were left behind in Gen 7.
There is a twist with Terapagos though, which is that its tiny form has an ability that auto-Terastallizes it into the cover art form as soon as it enters battle, although it doesn't appear to use up your Tera option since that is needed to reach its final state. I suppose this means that Terapagos can still appear in future titles but only as its tiny form and cover form, since Terapagos can reach its cover form on its own without need of a Tera Orb.

Does anyone have a full list of returning Pokemon that are not already present in Scarlet/Violet & DLC1/Home transfers? Trying to find of list of what will be "new to Scarlet/Violet" after the DLC2/Home update drops.

Seems kind of meh. Fake Out is more reliable even if it does less damage.

That is how I understand it. Terapagos Stellar will probably be lost in future generations.

If it's Ability let's it transform, it's Second form will still be around. It's final form will just be exclusive to this Gen like how Ultra Necrozma is exclusive to Gen VII.

Wait a minute... I just realized something...

Whatever happened to the supposed Koraidon and Miraidon Tera states? Were they just not real? Or is it something really minor, like them having a special interaction with the Stellar Tera Type?
i think we can just add that onto the ever-growing list of things khu was bullshitting about
For anyone curious here are the missing pokemons (and forms) from Gen 9.

Glad that GF didn't make this a slow bulky shitmon with that typing, it's gonna be a top threat in OU being the fastest available paradox + 100% acc EdgeQuake + SD + other decent-ish coverage options
