SPOILERS! Scarlet & Violet Leaks Thread - Data/Mechanics

This is just Mega Mence.

Very dissappointed, but maybe this is kinda like an Aerodactyl situation where this was Mence's original form.
This is fairly different from mega mence by, like, a lot, imo

Also between the blurred text on this one and the marked out text on tyranitar i think this is censoring their names. Judging by mence, it seems like the earlier thought that "Iron Treads" and "Great Tusks" are their actual names might be true?

Blacephalon is a 151/107 mon with an ability that allows him to snowball what already is one of the best spas in the franchise and a solid speed tier, while h-typh is exactly blacephalon but worse with the scald move and also outspeed by base 100s. So no, in terms of consistency i dont think it is a reason to be used over the clown. Base 151 shadow balls aren't situational.

Blacephalon traditionally runs scarf though and thus HTyphlosion, which i see running specs mostly, would fulfill a different role. Here is how i see it: scarf blacephalon is a speed control tool/late game cleaner while specs HTyphlosion is a wallbreaker that also spreads status and thus is difficult to switch into with standard ghost checks (spdef landoT, tyranitar, weavile all hate taking burns and the risk would deter then from coming in easily). It's more wallbreaking+utility in its own right and would fit snuggly on ghost spam teams with specs hex dragapult.

Salamence fans stay winning.

You can run specs on blace and it'd be exactly the same but inflicting more damage with the spammable moves and having a better speed tier if you want to. Also SpDef Lando-T and Wev cannot switch in into specs blace. The problem is not the burn, the problem is they take a shitton of damage.

Pawniard's JP name is Komatana, which combines Koma (piece in Shogi or Japanese Chess), Komagire (small pieces, referring to pawn in this case), and katana.
Shogi still has promotion in the game like regular chess. Shogi even has similar pieces to regular chess as well.
Actually following up on this, Bisharp might as well: Kirikizan is obviously a combination of kirikizamu (to mince) and zan (to cut/slay) but it might also incorporate kirin, a type of piece used in certain Shogi variants. Just found this out by looking up Bisharp's Japanese name, looking up a list of fairy chess pieces, and searching for "kiri" on the page. I'm not at all familiar with Japanese script and phonetics so this could be baseless but it was rather interesting to discover.

I’m trying to go to sleep right now, but stuff like this is stopping that. Past paradoxes are really going wild with some of the designs.
Not even 3 minutes before I'm dragged back in. I'm beginning to eat my own words with "Megas can't function as normal evolutions" with that Bisharp evo. If that was a Mega, no one would be none the wiser.

Once again, past paradoxes go from rugged looking type swaps to prehistoric monstrosities.

The more chaotic edges (fur?) on Salamence feel really off to me, especially without any outlines. It doesn't feel like it fits the artstyle of the rest of the game. I'll grant you that TTar isn't a particularly exciting redesign, but at least it doesn't clash with everything else.

With how Past Donphan looks, this definitely fits right in.
