SPOILERS! Scarlet & Violet Leaks Thread - Data/Mechanics

I doubt it, it has a specific dex entry for it, not regular Ursaluna but Bloodmoon Ursaluna specifically, so you can definitely catch it yourself.

We don't actually know this, people are just assuming since Teddiursa and Ursaring aren't in the Kitakami dex. But Ursaluna's not in the Paldea dex so that doesn't really prove anything.
If anything I would think the Dex entry supports the notion Bloodmoon Ursaluna is catchable, because if Teddiursa and Ursaring aren't in the Dex then I would assume they're not catchable (as opposed to transfer legal) in-game to be evolved into one

A couple of tweets from Khu about the typings of some of the new Pokémon: For Ursaluna, it's between Normal, Steel, Dark, and Ground. Not very helpful really, though I guess we can count out that random Ghost guess I've seen. This one is more direct. It confirms that the Loyal 3 has the types of Poison, Fighting, Psychic and Fairy. But more interesting for Ogerpon is that it has the types for Grass, Ghost, Fire, Water and Rock.

Alright........... how on earth were we supposed to infer that "pattern"? fuck this shit, I'm now the riddler. some or none of the hoenn Pokémon are getting new paradoxes in indigo disk.

TTBT, one of the things I'm curious about is whether Ninetales finally gets a second standard ability. Even if, of course, hidden is best for both Ninetales.

Still bummed that Sneasler got a second ability for SV, while Weavile has been stuck with just Pressure for 17 years, despite Sneasel having had 2 abilities since those were a thing.

And, of course, new TMs and the like, hoping Scorching Sands is back.

So essentially it's
Okidogi - Poison/Fighting
Munkidori - Poison/Psychic
Fezandipiti - Poison/Fairy

Default Ogerpon - Grass/Ghost (Although it seems strange that it's another Grass/Ghost, and not Grass/Dark as Khu hinted a while ago?)
Red Mask - Grass/Fire
Blue Mask - Grass/Water
Grey Mask - Grass/Steel

Ursaluna is still a guess - but as debated, no Pokémon outside of a gimmick has lost its complete typing upon evolving, so it would either be Normal/Ground, retaining that typing, or Normal/Something (I'm going to guess Steel, simply due to the dex entry, however this could also just be an indication it'll have a higher defense stat than the original?)

I no longer think it'll be Dark/Whatever, mainly because Khu's hints were referencing the moon, not the type itself (Umbreon, Lycanroc Midnight and Weavile who are all night-time evolutions, but Mightyena made no sense?)

If BM Ursaluna is Steel/Normal that would mean it retains three immunities like Normal Ursaluna and I think that's cool. Also wonder if it will be slower than the regular version. Wouldn't be the first time a Pokemon lost speed by becoming bipedal. Also if we're talking about moves we'd like made into TMs I pick Expanding Force and Wish

I mean, is it not a gimmick? It seems like this is a special Ursaluna of which only one can be caught in the wild due to the circumstances of this individual’s life making it the way it is if the dex entries are to be believed, and the fact that Teddiursa and Ursaring aren’t in the dex suggests this Ursaluna quite possibly can’t breed, kind of like Battle Bond Greninja. I think Normal/Steel could be possible given it has an ability designed to buff normal moves, but Ground/Steel seems equally possible due to it still seemingly being able to manipulate peat.

Sorry, I'm just very tired and confused the two things.

Move along nothing to see here :smogonbird:

I could tell. :P

See! Nobody's been listening to my ramblings that the lanterns have been hinting that Ogrepon is ghost!

Also, that's rock, not steel.

My original theory was that ogrepon's base form was rock/ghost and it had 3 masks that made it either pure grass, fire, or water or all dual typed with ghost. Now it's clear that we have grass, fire, water, and rock, and ghost is either a indeed a dual type on all forms or, annoyingly, only on the grass form and the other masks replace the ghost type a la Rotom or Hoopa. I fear it's latter because grassy parts are present on the 3 new forms and because this is exactly the kind of convoluted nonsensical type assignment GameFreak loves to do.

Meanwhile, I still stand by my opinion of Ursaring, like Rhydon before it, already working very well as a fully evolved 'mon.

(And poor Donphan's twin enhaced forms are actually quasi-legendary things that outright leave it in the dust without even an eviolite at its name)

We could expect learnsets and stats soonish right?

When you move to the mountains, you have two options:
-freeze and turn into an ice type
-die

Braviary is hoping no one notices

I don’t think so. The leaks are coming from home so we’ll probably have to wait for the DLC to drop to get stats and stuff.
Home has stats and iirc should have move lists internally

Not that you're necessarily wrong
I suspect this leak wasn't someone dropping the update data that miners are picking apart, and probably more someone dumped some of assets. Considering Kaphotics, Eevee and Centro all started posting things about the same time I'm guessing someone just dumped stuff in like a private discord or w/e.

Which would also, iirc, be why we have move names & descriptions but no power. In the normal games names, descriptions and move minutia are all in different files....I'm guessing that's the same with Home. The dump just had the name & description files

So it really comes down to "did the leaker dump all files or just get some of them", probably. Maybe there'll be follow ups? That'd be fun.

In gen 1 Cubone was found in the Pokémon Tower and there was a literal ghost Marowak, so it's a thematic thread from the very beggining of the series.

And that explains the abilities getting utterly reworked with no consistency whatsoever? Nah. Alolan Marowak was a half-ass approach.

Don't really see the eviddence /Steel beyond the dex entry, which as another user has already pointed out is pretty meaningless as a hint because Avalugg's entry also refers to it being as hard as steel. Also feel like a Steel typing would massively discount the haunted/werebear elements it that IMO feel much more in line with /Dark or even /Ghost.

See! Nobody's been listening to my ramblings that the lanterns have been hinting that Ogrepon is ghost!

Feel like it was pretty obvious it was going to be Grass (design elements + leaves on the feet) plus one of the occult types, e.g. Ghost, Fairy, Dark, Psychic. Grass/Dark is a hilariously overexposed typing (though so is Grass/Ghost for that matter, TBH) and we just had Calyrex last gen so it wasn't going to be Psychic.
