No more x-0s! Honestly DOU is a very hard tier in general so I'm not surprised to see no x-0 at this point. We have been seeing wins from everyone basically, making the pool look a lot more even than expected tbh. The games last week were actually real good too, I'd recommend checking them out if you haven't!
[TMS] Nails vs Paraplegic [GIB] - Good news for Para is that he has a lot of teams to work off this week. Para brought his expected psyspam team that we have learned to expect from him and kind of got outplayed. It was a close game that just felt it came down to Actuarily being in better form for it. Nails on the other hand finally brought out a weather team, in the case hail, that he typically pulls out in DOU formats at some point. His game was not close, as it felt as if he just positioned extremely well and spammed blizzard until it was over. Nails still looking strong vs a shakier Para, no way I'm not picking Nick.
[PLA] Z Strats vs YoBuddy [FOX] - Z Strats finally falls out of undefeated in what was a very good game by both players. Z Strats may have been able to do a thing here or there to make the game into a win, but in the end he is still looking like the best player in the pool and doesn't show signs of stopping in the builder and play. I will mention that Z Strats does seem to have some slight tendencies though, which may be exploitable if players can catch on. YoBuddy on the other hand got kind of bopped by Nails and has not been looking nearly as good as the rest of the pool. I'm going to go with best player in the pool at the moment (besides stax).
[DYN] Qwello Lee vs Actuarily [TER] - Actuarily has scored the first win for the Terrors DOU giving every slot a win! This may not seem crazy but DOU has been kind of known to have slots that just struggle with 0-x records basically the entire tournament so this is nice. Actuarily's match was not the cleanest however. Despite the win, it felt both Actuarily and Para could have played so much better as a whole. Actuarily almost throwing the end game making it come down to a chance to miss definitely did not sit well at with me at least. Qwello on the other hand lost to Spurrific who is is looking to be in contention as one of, if not, the strongest player in the pool (besides stax). Despite this loss Qwello played real well to at least try to keep himself in the game. The match up on top of switching p2 in on a trick scarf ruined all chances though, but that is no fault to Qwello's play. I think Qwello will bounce back against a player who is good, but not up to the level he is atm.
[SPA] stax vs Frania [SHO] - Goat.
[ISL] Mishimono vs Spurrific [BRE] - Mishi is coming off a win vs the goat himself stax. This win did involve some luck but in the end Mishi played well enough to get into situations to win and has been looking fairly decent this tournament as a whole. Sadly for Mishi they have found themselves against a Spurrific that looks in top form. Burns is coming off a really dominant win over one of the best players in the pool, Qwello, and has been looking real strong as a whole. Solid play, solid team building, good prep, Burns is looking to take over the tournament from here. I feel bad for anyone who has to play Burns from this point on, but we will see if its just hype and Mishi brings Spurrific back down to the rest of the pool.
